Do the math: at a nearly 300% higher price for the same item, this ISN'T a matter of logistics: this is avarice, simply predatory pricing at its worst. $98.30 at Johnson Lumber, $35.84 at Home Depot. No wonder why people hate this business. $98.30 -- $35.84 = $62.46. That different buys a LOT of diesel or gasoline. The owners of Johnson Lumber claim that they have higher costs of transportation. Bull. There aren't many lumber mills and steel fabrication plants in Arizona, and the same trains that bring in timber supplies to Arizona for Home Depot are the same ones for Johnson Lumber. The cost of nearly three times more can't be attributed to supply logistics, and the owners at Johnson Lumber are hoping you believe this lie that they have much higher transportation costs. In other words, they think their customers are ignorant AND stupid. The owners won't care until people wake up and say "NO!" to this greedy company and its owners, refusing to do business here, Johnson Lumber: even with spending a few gallons of gas, this company is the best reason to go elsewhere -- cheaper in the long run to drive even to Prescott to any number of far better-stocked stores that don't treat customers as prey: it's far less expensive to go into Surprise or North Gateway -- maybe preparing a list of things to buy at lower cost stores and driving 40 minutes to do it. This store gives greed a bad name, and -- forcing customers to shop in lower-cost towns -- ultimately hurts MOST other Wickenburg businesses. Stopped in a week later, and nothing had come in. Told to come back next Tuesday. The next Tuesday, nothing I'd ordered had come in. Told that shipments are received Tuesday mornings, and to come back next week. Same for the following Tuesday. Same for the next week. I finally got the idea, and went into Phoenix to order from a competitor. Got a phone call the next morning: all the gear I needed came in. Gave me a discount for paying cash.
