If you've ever driven I-88 across New York State - it is a long Interstate drive - with few and far between exits with anything for travelers. When I saw the sign for a Valero with a Dunkin' - it was liking finding an oasis! I went inside and ordered a cold brew. Man I could not fuel inject that cold brew fast enough! For us it One Ham, One Bacon and if im not feeling to fat that day i may grab a sausage. You also have a full sub counter with Boar's Head Meats, which can get pretty busy at times. I stopped here in a hurry, to fuel up before continuing on to my destination. I swiped my credit card, selected 93 octane, and when the pump said to "Begin Fueling," I tried to do just that. Problem: Nothing happened. So after messing around with it for a moment, I went inside to ask what the deal was, and a Comic Book Guy sort of dude working behind the counter was in no rush to even acknowledge my presence. He had an iPod, but the earbuds weren't even in his ears. Yeah, I'm sure you didn't notice me standing there, bud... Finally, he acknowledged me, and came off in a pretty condescending way. Listen, bro, I imagine I probably wouldn't be the happiest and most enthusiastic person working the overnight shift at a gas station, but take it easy. He explained to me that he was "really low" on 93 octane. OK, what about the others? Well, he wasn't sure, but he said my best bet was to try 89. ...sigh. Fine. So I go outside, select 89, and start pumping... it goes incredibly slowly, and stops at $0.98. At this point, I said screw it, and drove further along to get gas somewhere else.
