Not too many people were here when we visited, which made the experience even more relaxed and stress free. There is an art to throwing an axe. I can't say that I've mastered it, but I'm a work in progress. Booking online for a group is a little more expensive than if you do a walk-in with a group. I believe it was $10 cheaper per person. Parking isn't the best here, but there are a few parking garages and some street parking within the vicinity. Overall, great experience.

They sanction the controlled chaos, and on top of that, they serve beer! Putting axes in the hands of beer guzzling lumberjack wannabes sounds like a recipe for disaster. But to their credit, Faxons keep a close eye on their patrons. They'll even help with your technique. That's throwing technique. You're on your own with how you tip your glasses. You'll have your choice on who or what to chop up. You can toss a blade into the skull of a zombie or something more woodsy like a duck. You won't even need a hunting license. Just have your significant other fill out the permission slip (aka the waiver) so that you can participate in the carnage. If an axe is a little too extreme, you can try your hand at tossing a different dangerous projectile. They have a couple of dart boards just waiting for you to pierce their numbers. They come complete with chalkboard so that you can keep tally of how many holes you make. I'm guessing they'd prefer the holes in the boards rather than the wall. It's a family-friendly place for all you 12 and olders. That is if your family doesn't lean pacifist. Quick Tip: I wouldn't recommend wearing open toed shoes. There's always the chance of the beer that's lubricating your inside, finding its way onto the axe handle and making it as loose as you. But as I mentioned earlier, Faxons keeps a close eye on the proceedings. You should be able to make your way out with all your appendages still intact. And maybe even a few extra if you're seeing double after swilling down a few.

We got 2 buckets of breakable/shatterable items which was definitely the most satisfying part of the experience. However, there aren't too many items after the shatterables that have the same satisfaction -- many already broken appliances (i.e. rice cooker, TV, keyboards). Service: The woman who helped us was very nice and efficient in explaining the standards, our time, and helping us set up our music on the speaker! We called ahead to reserve a spot, and when we arrived, the guy working acted like he had no idea who we were or why we were there. He then gave us lackluster instructions about "safety" and the room. The "safety briefing" was rushed and careless, like they couldn't be bothered. The room itself was tiny and could barely fit two people, let alone 5-6 people. All that you are given is a bucket full of glass that you go through in about 15 min (as two people). For the price, I expected a lot more variety and quantity.

Reservations were easy to make online and the adventure itself was such a great one. We went for my…read more9 year old's birthday. The park was quiet at our reservation time of 5:30pm on a Saturday but it was still very hot in the mid 90s. It got really busy later when the Glow in the Dark event started. These courses are not easy like so many children's ones are. In fact, even the blue level (which allows 11-13 year olds had super challenging elements. One that I was barely able to complete. I need to work out (upper body) for 6 months before considering the black and double black courses. Prepare for some bruises and some challenges and all-in-all a great time. The zip lines are so much fun and the green course that had many different zip lines became our group favorite. The shop is stocked with drinks and snacks (popsicles were amazing in that heat) and my son absolutely loved eating s'mores at the camp fire after our climb. They treat the property for mosquitoes but they use a natural treatment so I still recommend bug spray if you will be there around dusk. You will have to use a Port-a-potty for the bathroom but they weren't too scary. We will definitely return in the fall when the temps are cooler!
