Just like kids are supposed to be. After they tired of the assortment of knuckle busters, I lost sight of the skalawags. But soon, I found them on the other side of the park. They were engaged in a sword battle using fallen branches. I thought to myself, this ain't gonna end good. Sure enough, one got stabbed in the leg, and the fallen soldier had to beat a quick retreat to the infirmary. Oh, to be a kid again. Quick Tip: Bring along some salted beef, biscuits, or maybe a wheel of cheese matey. There arrrr plenty of picnic tables for ye to set the bones on.

Great local park that my kids love. Located on Miles Johnson Pkwy just off Main St, there is a nice…read moresized parking lot, several pavilions & a decent bathroom. There's also a cute local book box where you can leave a book or take one home to try! There are grills to use, plus a small creek and a walking trail that connects to the adjacent neighborhood. Surrounded by a paved walking trail (just shy of 1/3 mile long), the playground has plenty of equipment for little ones on up through elementary & middle school set on wood chips. There are several benches around the edges of the play area for parents to relax (unless you're on swing-pushing duty) while watching their kids run off some energy!

Little Tikes equipment, with a couple things to climb and slide, an animal matching game, tic-tac-toe, and a separate climbing structure. Two baby swings and two regular swings, and a truck. Very safe as it is on a cul-de-sac, and lots of grass to roam around too. Has a trash can but no bathroom since it is just a little neighborhood. We enjoyed stopping here! One swing needs some fixing but otherwise fun! Great reason to consider living in Champan's Crossing!

Big, open, clean, and handicap accessible so everyone can get in on the chaos. I'm a playground inspector and know the installer, who does excellent work. You can tell this place was built right. Great park. Five stars. My kids burn energy and I get to pretend I'm supervising.

It's also inclusive for kids in a wheelchair or needing additional assistance. There are several musical play opportunities that really interest all ages. Plenty of shaded areas for parents to sit and watch their kids explore, picnic tables in the shade, etc. We spent a couple of hours there with a 1 year old and definitely explored the whole park. One warning, always check the back and seats of the different swings as some of them get hot in different places. There is a roller hockey rink and skate park there as well. My daughter really enjoyed roller skating in the rink. The whole park was very clean, and well maintained. Can't wait to go there again.

There is a lot to like about this large park and it's one of my favorites. I'll break it down by…read morethe primary features. Trails: this is the primary reason I go to Crockett Park. I sometimes walk but mostly bike on the trails with a little one. They are relatively flat and because they are so long, they are rarely crowded. The trail users vary in age and there are plenty of blind curves, so it's not a place to go for fast biking. The scenery is varied and the majority of the trails are shaded. As a bonus, there are lots of places you can dip your feet in the Little Harpeth River. You can bike from Smith Park to the south to Tower Park north of Concord Road. The trails also connect to various neighborhoods, the Brentwood Library, and the Brentwood YMCA. Five stars. Playgrounds: there are several playground at Crockett Park/River Park. The main one near Woodland Middle School between baseball fields. It's large with a divided small kids and big kids section. Kids love it, and there are plenty of benches and tables for parents to sit or for a lunch break. Five stars. Frisbee golf course: 18 holes and, unlike many in the area, clear signage. Some holes are similar and a few are pretty short, but overall good course for a quick game. Four stars. Restrooms: these are all over the park. Some are closed part of the year, but for the most part they are open and reasonably clean for public restrooms. Four stars. Parking: You can park more places than I can count off the top of my head to start your walk, jog, bike ride or attend a sporting event. Amphitheatre: The Eddy Arnold Amphitheatre is great for summer concerts, of which there are many every year. Sports fields: I don't use them at this time, but they are very well maintained and there are a lot of football, soccer, and baseball fields. Parking: You can park more places than I can count off the top of my head to start your walk, jog, or bike ride. This is handy for days when the fields are crowded for soccer and/or football games, because you can avoid the traffic. Most lots are adjacent to a trail. Check it out for one or more of these features when you get a chance.

My 2 sides were loaded Brussels sprouts and they were cooked perfectly. I also had the cowboy corn sauce, which was delicious. My husband had a burger, which was a 5/5. They were super busy and one was checking in people and one was making pizzas. You could not get any help With issues that arose while there. Couldn't buy a drink or anything. Second: A group of 15 came in with teens and adults and they decided to play tag. They were knocking down children and endangering two young moms holding new born babies. When I brought it to The attention of the young girl she was kind but there was nothing she could do. She was too intimidated by the adults who were rough housing so we decided to leave as did three other families. All stated they didn't feel safe to allow their children to continue to play. Very disappointed! We drove two hours to be there. What a waste of time and money!!
