This tattoo bar is just that on one side there is a bar and on the other side there's the tattoo shop. This hidden gem is unlike anything I've seen and I mean that in the BEST way possible. A group of 8 of us all went to get matching tattoos and they were so fast; not to mention we were getting free shots! We filled out our waivers, got the tattoos drawn and placed and the tattoo artists went to work. Each tattoo took less than 15 minutes so each artist was super fast. If I could give it 0 stars I would. The tattoo artists that me and my brother had were not only rude, but both of our tattoos are completely blown out. There's no fixing it. Mind you the tattoo is simple. We walked in thinking even an amateur could do it. I tried to resolve the problem with the owner and the only solution he provided was to get them "touched up" by the same artists. That's not a solution for the blow out AND the awful service. I get the tattoo artists are 1099, so maybe his hands are tied, but this is his business. You'd think a business owner would care? Guess not. What a joke. There's PLENTY of other amazing tattoo shops near downtown. Take the extra 5 minute drive to a more reputable shop. read more

I went here in October to get a tattoo. Loved the concept behind the shop. The artist, James, destroyed my leg with a simple tattoo. Tissue damage prevents it from ever being fixed properly. He blew it by carving into my leg. The lines were dirty and bled through. Simple letter was runny and blurred. He had done a job on someone else right before me. I don't know if he was drinking by the time he got to me. From the looks of the mess and damage probably so. I was able to come home to LA and have a tattoo placed around most of it to try and fix it. I would not recommend him to anyone, unless you want to run the risk of tissue damage and a shoddy tattoo. I won't say the other tattoo artists are bad, I didn't get work from them. YMMV. read more

Disclaimer: I can't comment on the bar. I had a tattoo appointment this past Friday night at Stigma with Charlie. I have two smaller tattoos that I got when I was much younger, almost six years ago. I was definitely nervous going in, but I'd seen Charlie's previous artwork & I was really impressed. Had no idea the piece that I wanted would end up taking so long - 5 hours & it's still not done, but I really appreciate having an artist that didn't rush through it & really cared about the details, even with my moaning and groaning. It's obvious that he takes a lot of pride in his work. I mean, if it looks horrible, it's on him & you'd be surprised how many tattoo "artists" just don't seem to get that concept or care. I can't wait to finish it up & see the end result. Thankfully, I didn't encounter any rude employees or anything like that the whole time I was there. Stigma is an interesting new downtown spot. It is part tattoo parlor and part night club with a dark dungeon type feel to it. We stopped in pretty early in the night, so there wasnt much going on yet but it looks like this will be a pretty chill place. There are several stripper poles throughout the club where party goers can show off their own moves and there is a large dancers cage coming off of one of the walls. June 12th 2016 was one of the worst days in my life. I remember feeling broken. I remember going to stigma for drinks with my friends. I was lost and in a daze. I bumped into Rae from 106.7. She saw me and hugged me. She pinned a ribbon on me and said a few words of encouragement. I sobbed for days. The pain didn't lessen. I volunteered. I organized food for the hospital. I did what I could. Nothing seemed good enough though. Stigma was offering tattoos for the fund going to the survivors. Some part of me decided that this might be the cathartic release I needed. Ron was the best. He put me at ease. His words calmed me. I had a drink and a friend by my side. I knew what I wanted. I customized it slightly. A year later, and this tattoo is a source of pride and motivation. Last night, I watched the memorial at Eola take place. I cried. So many tears. I remember putting my hand to my shoulder and holding my tattoo. Thank You Stigma for the positive reminder. We both have several tattoos to include body pieces (hidden) and had a little buzz, naturally. We even called before hand to see if they could take us. Point: the guy at the front was a HUGE asshole, without purpose. We appeared as first timers and apparently to them that's a negative thing. From this experience a first timer would probably not be welcome. They were a bunch of wanna be hipsters anyway. Wanna-be hipster: noun, trying too hard to appear they don't care. Im sure that there are some artists at this establishment that can do great art, however DO NOT GO TO THE ARTIST KATY. i went into stigma wanting to get a tattoo from another artist that was recommended. instead of doing my tattoo he recommended that i let another artist, KATY do me tattoo. He and her both insisted that she as skilled enough to deliver what i wanted. WOW WERE THEY WRONG. i left having to pay $250 for a tattoo that looks like a child drew on my arm. i cried for weeks and had to go to another tattoo parlor to have it fixed which costed me an additional $360. My tattoo was thankfully able to be fixed however when i expressed my concerns to the artist and the manager at Stigma I was told my tattoo "wasn't that bad" and "just needed to fix some of the coloring" and was told to come back for another artist to attempt to fix it. why would i go back to a tattoo establishment for them to fix something that should have been done the right way in the first place. HORRIBLE way to do business. And just to add to this, when i went to fix my tattoo at a VERY HIGHLY recommended tattoo establishment (Oddity tattoo in Sarasota) i immediately could tell the difference between a trashy establishment that doesn't know what they're doing, and a more experienced tattoo parlor. read more

I got a small tattoo from Charlie. He seemed rushed and uninterested in the simplicity of my design as if my being there was a waste of his time despite only one other tattoo customer being in the shop. His line work is poorly done and the overall experience I had in Stigma was less than a professional feel. Tattoo stations are much too small and should be larger for the safety of both the "artist" and the customer. People (non working employees) are running around the pole area goofing around while customers are being tattooed. Sterile tattoo areas can be entered by anyone. All this just doesn't sit well with me as far as a tattoo parlor goes. It's only my opinion and I'm all for fun, but I think there should be some distinction between a 'strip club/pole dancing' atmosphere with a bar and a tattoo shop that requires a more strict attitude. read more

It's ok. I can review the bar and tattoo place. The bar is pretty dope. It's never really been crowded when I have been here which is cool cause you can actually talk to the people around you and request songs to be played so you can DANCE! Yes, there are stripper poles and cages but in a really dope setting. Not gross or nasty, it's literally pretty dope. I don't believe they sell liquor yet and I am annoyed when they are out of cider but it's a pretty tight place to check out so make sure you walk in! No cover too which is tight. So, yes, it's also a tattoo parlor which I am not quite sold on yet since it's also a bar... just not used to that. Did I get a tattoo here? Yes. Was I drunk? Yes. Did they know? I have no idea. I basically walked up, drew what I wanted and bam, 5 min later I was on the chair. The gentleman that tatted me was ok... I was giving him a bit of a hard time because he looked like a famous person which I don't think he was flattered about, but he should have been. Super good looking! So, I got my tat behind my ear and I think he shaved a little too much hair than I would have asked for had I been mentally there. Oh well, it's growing back in. Not sure you can really see the tat so much now though so it's kinda eh. I would have liked it to be a bit more visible. Overall, it was ok. I can't really comment on the quality of work because it was super simple and small. It seemed really clean though. This place is fairly new I've been told, but in the past week I've been here twice, so that means it must be pretty decent. It's a bar/strip joint/ tattoo parlor/piercing parlor. All in all it's pretty cool. I'm only giving it 3 stars because both times I've been there has been more employees than patrons, so it can be a bit awkward. In saying that, besides the man at the top of the stairs who both times has pressured a tattoo, every other employee has been extremely welcoming. This place only has beer and wine. I inquired as to why, and I was told because of the type of joint it is they have the ability to attract a 'rough' crowd so they thought not having liquor may help to control it. It makes sense if you think about it. While we were talking to the waitress about the lack of alcohol, she did inform us that they have found ways to make yummy shots out of wine and she gave my friend and I free ones!!! They were quite filled with green apple yumminess. I started talking to one of the pole dancers (who was quite nice) she taught us some moves and let us try them out. (Side not: stripper poles spin on their own, I just learned that, so the moves were less impressive) She also informed us that next month during the day they are going to be having stripper pole aerobic classes for $60 a month. I am so in. I'm actually excited over it. I'll give it some time to get recognized, and hopefully next time there will be more people there and I will be able to give it more stars! read more

I am super disappointed in this shop. I went in to get a tattoo with my best friend while on vacation. The picture I showed the tattoo artist was a very delicate version, and when the artist created the stencil it looked perfect. However, when the artist did the tattoo, he did it so thick and heavy handed that not only can you not read it, he caused ink blowout. This is not my first tattoo, it is my 6th to be exact. It has been two weeks, the tattoo is massively raised up and bumpy. I am very upset that he permanently messed up my collarbone area because he failed to do his job correctly. All I can say is stay away from this shop if you don't want to pay a lot of money later to fix their mistakes. read more

I LOVE Stigma Tattoo Bar! The staff is wonderful--welcoming in every way and good at what they do. The owners are there every time I go and really take pride in their business. It's a fun place where you can just be yourself and have an awesome time--none of the pretension you find in most other clubs downtown these days. Not only did I get a beautiful tattoo, but I can dance on a pole any time I want! My friends and I love to pole dance for fitness and fun. This place is a hidden gem. The drinks are super affordable... they even have $2 PBR if you can get there before they run out. We almost walked right by it while looking for it because it is located on the second floor... so it only has a door entrance which is right next door to another place (The Avenue, I think?). When you get upstairs, to the right, there is a tattoo section, straight ahead they sell merchandise, such as tshirts and body jewelry, and have some ipads that you can look at all of the artist's works. To the left are 3 dance poles because they also offer pole dancing classes. Passed that is the bar, which seemed fully stocked and the bartenders were attentive and friendly. The ambiance is lounge like. This is definitely a place we would be returning to and my husband is even considering getting a tattoo. It reminds me of places you can find in the village in NYC so if you like the dark, dive, lounge type places, this is the place to go. Initially, my sister and I met one of the tattoo artists at a bar across the street. We talked and checked out some of his work he had on his phone and he was really good. We wanted matching sister tattoos. We got his contact info and traded Snapchats to get in touch. He was a really cool guy. My sister set up the appointment for Saturday (tomorrow) several weeks ago. This Wednesday evening, she hit him up to confirm our appointment. He said he thought our appointment was for Wednesday at 12:30. What?! No. We both work during the week. She told him she scheduled the appointment for Saturday, not Wednesday. After that, he hasn't responded to her. I tried to contact him and he is still ignoring both of us. So we waited a month for what? Some rude, unprofessional to stand us up? We have waited to get this done by a GOOD artist so now we have to continue looking and we have wasted entirely too much time. What sucks for this guy is that I would have come back to him to do my leg sleeve. His loss. If you're looking for a quick tattoo and decide to try this place as a walk in, it might not be so bad, but if you try to schedule an appointment, don't expect to actually get your appointment. Extremely annoyed and disappointed. Don't waste your time here. ***UPDATE*** After posting this review and sending an email to the shop's main email about my disappointment, I received a response. Perhaps the owner or manager read it? It was from a gentleman named Daniel who assured me he would get to the bottom of it. Funny how that always amps up the customer service factor when the big boss jumps into the scenario. Low and behold, guess who finally responds?! It shouldn't ever come to that point. Unfortunately, we will not be taking the appointment. The last thing I need is for a vengeful artist to take out his annoyance on my skin. So, we went back in tonight and chatted with Kelly the co owner and Michelle the real piercing artist, got a size up on our gauges, and had a drink and chat and I revoke my poor review in part. I still think you should only trust Michelle to your piercing needs, but they really were receptive to my review and we talked it out. I got my daughters ears pierced here during a special kids/baby day. I was super nervous because it's my first and only daughter and I didn't know how she would feel. She just turned 1 years old. Anyway, Kelly did the piercing and she was super sweet and very quick. She made sure I was happy and everything was perfect. She knew exactly how to handle my little Princess and was just amazing. Thanks Kelly!! Would recommend to any nervous mom's or mom's in general looking to ear their child's ears done. (BTW. This place is easy to miss because it only has a tiny door opening on the main bar and club strip downtown. It's like a tiny slip of a doorway between two other loud bumpin clubs. But seriously go up the stairs and you WILL be entertained. This place has not only a tattoo and piercing shop at the back, but has pole dancing classes, and poles dispersed throughout the dance floor with hot girls (and some silly drunk guys) swinging on them. They have the professionals who can teach you, with "private" curtained areas with couches where you can book your party. I went with some friends and just people watching was hilarious fun. They have a pretty decent beer selection surprisingly and some great shot specials too. They bartenders are cute and great. No smoking, so you have to go back down the stairs but you can bring your beer with you and hang outside the tiny slip of a door! It's a little weird but who cares... Oh, plus, for good added drunken fun, they have a cage and random wall decorations like manacles, and torture device looking things, as well as a stockade right off to the side of the dance floor! I don't want to slam the whole place because of one tattoo artist, but I am still freaking so upset! I asked for a simple flower and since he didn't have a portfolio, he found a picture of the flower that I asked for online (I love hibiscus). Well, he tatted this weird background all around it and put these weird red dots all over. It blends in with the color of the flower and unless you look close, it looks like a big bruise. I figured maybe it needed time to fade and stuff, but this was back in February and it's now October and people still say, "what is that?" when they see my tattoo. read more

I get there and the dick at the front says that it would take an hour to even set up and another hour to do the tattoo, which is b.s. since I have had bigger tattoos done in less of a time.
