This studio is one of the greatest sanctuaries this city has! I love that in this studio the teachers inspire us to do our best and to explore our full potential, while at the same time, they also encourage us to listen to the wisdom of our own bodies. Every "body" is welcome here. You don't have to be an expert or be super flexible. Each person does what they can do, and we all still get the full benefits of this awesomely therapeutic practice. The teachers are SUPER nice and knowledgeable!! The temperature is ideal- SO therapeutic. It helps us stretch our muscles and also to purify our bodies. This is a delightful place to practice Bikram. Bikram Yoga as it should be. Class begins with Pranayama Deep Breathing and continues through the classic 26 poses in strict format at 105 degrees ... The teachers are very helpful to help you perfect your postures as you learn class by class. There is no other place lthat does Bikram like Still Hot Yoga does. Most others are hot " vinyasa " flow yoga .. Nothing against those practices but it't not Bikram ... My only complaint would be the size of the space. When quarantine first started, Yelp Atlanta hosted an event with Still Hot Yoga - a virtual Bikram yoga class. I had never taken a Bikram class before. The event was great, but nothing could everrrrr compare to the experience in-studio! Now that exercise classes have been allowed in Atlanta for a while, I feel safer visiting a studio for a class. I feel like most have worked out the kinks and it's relatively harmless. My usual yoga studio remained closed, so I decided to branch out and give Still Hot an in-studio try. I started visiting this studio within the past few weeks and I am absolutely HOOKED. The studio remains at an absolutely disgusting 105 degrees (lol) and about 690% humidity (I think it's actually like 40% humidity?). Most classes are 90 minutes long, but you can expect to be sweatingggggggg about 90 seconds into the class. This is not the relaxing, meditative, slow burning yoga I am used to. There are certainly those qualities deeply rooted within the practice, but it is hardcore. It's bendy and strong and challenging and sweaty. And there is a full euphoria that rushes through when the door gets cracked open and the 89 degree outside air feels like straight up air conditioning. Expect to be fully drenched when you leave this class. Read: you will not be able to meet your friends for happy hour drinks without taking a shower first. The class sizes are very limited right now, so sign up for a waitlist spot (if you can find one) and be a little patient. You will most likely make it onto the class list. as the class gets closer. For safety, there are markings on the floor where your mat is supposed to go. The instructors will fill your water bottle for you - students are not supposed to move off their mats during the class. It feels as safe as it possibly can. I love, love, love this studio. The people are great. It's clean and it's easy to get to. Classes and memberships are affordable. Upon showing up at 10:01 for our 10 AM yoga class (our fault, we know) we were greeted by the instructor who told us that we should've visited the website before booking with ClassPass, because they are no longer excepting any new students and the class was overbooked. I just moved here from Nashville where I did hot yoga regularly, and was looking for a good yoga studio that would challenge me and keep me coming back. Well Still Hot definitely challenges me to say the least! This is by far the hottest yoga studio I've ever practiced in. I think part of it is due to the new floors, which are a black rubber material. It heats up like a hot street in the summer! I personally like this, I'd rather be challenged and have to take a few breaks here and there, than to feel like the studio isn't hot enough. I'd recommend starting with the 60 minute class rather than the 90 if you don't think you can handle the heat! I've been twice so far and both teachers have been awesome! The first was Hannah, who had a great energy and gave feedback which was really helpful. The second was Janet, who had a very calming yet motivating presence and led a great class. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is that I wish they had more variety in classes. I like the Bikram series sometimes, but I prefer a smoother vinyasa flow and to switch it up sometimes as well. read more

Let me tell you why I love Bikram-style hot yoga: I've had old muscle injuries heal completely. I sleep well. And honestly, I just feel like I'm a better person after I take a class, because when the room is 105F, and you've got 90 minutes on the clock... you learn to quit fighting and just patient. Hot yoga has taught me what nobody and nothing else could. Let me tell you why I LOVE Still Hot Yoga: the instructors are wonderful! Warm, friendly, cheerful, helpful! They know their stuff, and the classes are energetic and engaging. The facility is clean, comfortable, and the other members are every bit as lovely as the staff. There's a great sense of camaraderie and community here. Everyone - staff and members - are very welcoming and encouraging to newcomers. Practical stuffs: I live in Alpharetta, and I find Still Hot surprisingly easy to get to. It usually takes me about 30 minutes in normal traffic, 40 if it's an evening class. (Which isn't much longer than driving from Alpharetta to anywhere else in Alpharetta). There's plenty of parking and no hassle with finding spaces. read more

Namaste.... When I first started Bikram yoga, I was an extremely non-flexible type of gal. So at first I was intimidated to try Yoga...let alone the Bikram style of yoga. The instructors at Bikram Yoga of Decatur are great!! They take the time to ensure you are comfortable, understand the positions and adjust your body as necessary. The only other Bikram Yoga studio I've tried is in the Highlands and I always felt as if I was slowing the class down. This studio, however, caters to the veterans and the newbies!! Although I still can't touch my toes, I can however hold my on by performing the ~26 positions in the 106 degree temp and my balance and focus has increased tremendously! I've practiced this 26 posture sequence on and off for the last 10 years of my life. I have found that when my practice is more regular, my life and my health seem more manageable. Bikram yoga Decatur is a great studio, the instructors know the yoga, and they offer the cheerleader type of support that can help you through those poses that you hate. I recently moved to Decatur and was so excited about this Bikram yoga studio being in the neighborhood. I've been practicing Bikram yoga for the past 4 years in Detroit, Miami and NYC, and I was so disappointed after my first class. The first thing I was shocked by was the smell in the studio. The smell of old stale sweat in the carpet made it hard to focus. After the class it became clear why, they don't have students turn to do poses and instead straddle the mat and have the sweat fall to the carpet instead of the yoga mat and towel. The second thing was the teacher repeatedly opened the door to keep the room cool. One of the main principles of Bikram is to maintain the heat in the room and one is not suppose to leave the room in order to keep the warmth developed. I was so disappointed that he kept cooling the room by opening the door. Lastly, my friend and I had purchased a week long pass it was unclear when it ended and we showed up on the last day of our week and we were told to pay for the class. The instructor was so rude and not accommodating for the misunderstanding. Sadly, they have lost two new students and left a really bad impression of their studio. read more

Pros: Instructors, Class times, Location Cons: Price, Crowd, Studio I was first introduced to this place by a friend about a year ago. I was new to hot yoga and felt that the staff was very strict and made me nervous. They insisted I remove my watch and told me I absolutely could not leave the room even if I felt I was about the pass out. I think they could have been more welcoming to a newcomer of hot yoga. That said, I now love the place. I understand why they are so strict and am glad they take the practice seriously. You should be completely involved in your yoga experience and not watching the clock to see when class is about the end. Also, they don't want you to leave the hot room if you feel faint because no one would be outside the classroom to monitor you. The intructors are very qualified and experienced, which I like. I also like the pace at which the class moves. The times are convenient as well, with plenty of night classes to attend after class or work. They have early morning classes as well for those who are not night owls like myself. The place isn't gorgeous by any means, but it's decent. It attracts an eclectic group...everyone from the college students at Emory to young professionals and hippy-types. Beware of some of the old men who sweat profusely and remove their shirts! :) Remember to bring your own matt and towel otherwise they'll charge you $3 extra, which is a waste. Ask for a student discount if you're still in school! Overall though, I feel great everytime I leave this place and would definitely recommend it to a friend. read more

Wowza - that was a hard class! I used my Class Pass to take the 90 min Bikram hot yoga class and it may have been the most challenging thing I've ever done with my body. There were times I was sure I'd make it through but when I did - I felt great. I will say - a little word to the wise - do some research on Bikram before you go and do not work out or over exert yourself the day of your yoga session. I made the mistake of coming here after an intense workout looking for a good stretch. This is NOT that - although you will feel pretty stretched by the time you leave. You can burn over 700 cals in this session because you're doing intense body weight exercises. The instructor for my class was Liz (great name!) and she was super sweet and very helpful. I felt like a total noob at first but she offered modifications to help me get through the series! Really appreciated that! The positive reinforcement was great. Also - the class I took was full of folks that clearly have done this was years. That was slightly intimidating. Perhaps if you're a newbie like me, it'd be better to go to a beginner Bikram class rather than an "all levels welcome" class. read more

I don't have anything to compare this to as it was my first hot yoga class. There were a couple of reviews saying that the room was gross or smelly, I have no idea what they are referring to. The room had no smell whatsoever. I don't know much about yoga poses but the instructor talked through it the entire time. If you are going for a relaxing yoga experience, I wouldn't go here, like other reviews mentioned, he did talk nearly the entire time, often saying the same things over and over... It helped for newbies like me, but I don't know how the veterans feel about that type of thing. I am sure there are benefits to this, but I wasn't amazed by it, I maybe just like more of an active workout class. But to those of you who want a hot yoga class, this one seems pretty good! read more

This place smells, but I still like it a lot. I've taken 5 classes here so far, and the people are nice and friendly. The room isn't huge, but it doesn't need to be. Even on a day everyone said was crazy crowded, I had plenty of space. The locker room is nice but nothing fancy. There's a interesting shower - two shower heads in one big stall. I wish there were a sink or two in the locker room. It's bikram yoga so it's hot and sweaty and challenging, but it works and you feel amazing afterwards. Try it! 10 days unlimited for $30 read more

I bought a Groupon for still hot yoga for $42. I went to one class. I liked it. There were no classes available for 3 months afterward. Per the Groupon I had 90 days to get in 10 classes. It wasn't possible. I complained but no help or refund was given. Just an "oh well" attitude. They said they only receive a small payout on Groupon and I realized that a small amount from a lot of people is a large amount of money...especially when they don't provide any service. I attended Bikram Yoga Decatur for two years when I lived in Atlanta. Alas, work has brought me to Sacramento and I am missing it dearly. The studios here just aren't the same. This studio has great teachers, reasonable prices, and is extremely clean. The teachers walk around and correct students throughout the class and nip student conversations during class in the bud. Very dirty. I have never seen carpet floors for a hot yoga room! And people work a lot on the carpet, outside of their mats, causing sweat to build up in the carpet and creates a horrendous smell and leave a grime on your hands. They also need to offer a more variety of classes. I just won't be coming back here to sum it all up. And I don't recommend it if you've been doing yoga for sometime. I've done Bikram yoga at three studios now, one of them being Still Hot Yoga. This studio was, by far, the worst experience with this type of yoga I've ever had. First, the smell. Who has carpet in a hot yoga room? Or any yoga room for that matter? On top of that, the instructor made us stand *on* the carpet rather than our yoga mat for a lot of the poses, so it's easy to see how the smell gets that way. Bikram has heavy breathing exercises, too, so not only did the smell make that difficult, but the carpet itself did as well. It was just so stuffy in the room. Second, the instruction. Not only did the instructor talk CONSTANTLY through class, which didn't help my concentration in each pose, but he wasn't illustrating the poses, either (I already knew them, so it wasn't a problem for me, but I can imagine for a beginner it would be very challenging). He also didn't offer variations, and I'm just not able to get into the deepest or most challenging version of each one yet. Third, no cold towel at the end of class. Both other studios that I've been to have done that, and it was glorious. But, not only that, he didn't really "guide" a savasana. He basically said, "We're running a few minutes late, so you can leave whenever you want," and then walked out the door. So, that meant people were up and running after about 20-30 seconds, and there was no way to enjoy or zen out in savasana. Fourth, roaches. I bent over to do one of the poses and what did I see behind me crawling across the back of the room? A very large roach. Needless to say, I won't be back, which kind of stinks (pardon the pun) because this place is close to my apartment. read more

I loved this studio!! This was my first experience with a Bikram Yoga class and was worried about what the class would be like. I've only attended the 6am classes due to my schedule, but there were a good amount of people there every time. When I first walked in, Missy was there to greet me and show me around when I told her it was my first time there. The room was heated and I definitely felt the stretches and the heat. The instructors here are really nice and friendly, and also walk around to help with adjustments, which I really liked especially since I was not a regular. I have been coming to this studio for over fifteen years. I love the heat and the Bikram series. It's what works for me. All levels are welcome, and all the instructors are friendly and great. They recently painted the walls and are about to put in a new floor, so it is getting an update. This is a challenging practice, but it is worth the great feeling you have when you walk out. Good instructor, worst smelling studio I've ever been to. This is a hot yoga studio and they have carpeting on the floors! So, all the sweat drips into the carpet. Add bare feet and months of fermentation and you get a stale odor of mold, mildew, fungus like in an old gym. Management needs to steam clean it with sanitizer...or better yet...remove the carpet and have a rubber or wood floor like most normal hot studios have. If the studio were cleaned up, I'd be happy to give it a good review. read more

I just moved to the Decatur area, and one of the first things I wanted to do was to begin practicing yoga. Bikram Yoga Decatur was the first studio that I visited, and I love it so much that I haven't felt the need to try other studios at the moment. The class is extremely challenging and the instructors whom I have had thus far have been excellent, especially Eric. Yes, the room is heated to what initially seems like an outrageously high temperature (105 degrees), and you will sweat uncontrollably after five minutes of class... but if you are looking for yoga that is envigorating and NOT frou frou; this is a great place. Warning: BYD only offers a 90 minute class, and the only style practiced at the studio is, um, Bikram, so if you are looking for variety in your practice (in terms of both yoga style and levels of intensity), this is not the studio for you. But a 10-day introductory pass is only $25, so it is worth a shot nevertheless! read more

This review has nothing to do with Bikram Yoga itself, rather the studio in Decatur. I am from Honolulu, Hawaii and have practiced at their Bikram studio in Koko Marina for years This studio is nothing compared to the one in Hawaii... At Bikram Decatur its rather small, the heat feels weird, its not infrared like in most studios which makes the room rather stuffy, and then the smell of the carpet mixed with sweaty bodies is sooooo gross to me. But its the closest place to practice, so I must go here. Although the carpet prevents you from slipping, in Hawaii they had a wood floor that wasn't shined but buffed to give it some grip, it worked great-they should implement that here... Also in Hawaii they use infrared heat and eucalyptus steam to fill the room so you can breathe soooo deeply and clear your lungs while you sweat, feels much better. This place is just 'ok' read more

The floors were even, which was a plus. However, they were also carpeted, which lent the hot room a funky smell. They don't sell water but rather plastic bottles you can fill up with lukewarm water supplied by the studio. Prices were more expensive than in Chicago (for towels and coconut water), so I conclude that this studio is overpriced. read more

The class is challenging and gets packed. I bought a 1 month unlimited pass but after going to three classes have decided not to return. The room smells terrible and this becomes so distracting that it completely ruins the workout experience. Professors are talking all the time and don't do the posses so its hard to know what to do if you are new to this type of yoga. The instructors don't really correct posses which makes it kind of pointless to go. Overall not a great place. I read in a review that the owner said they were going to change the rug, 11 months ago.
