Really cool hot yoga studio located in Buckhead. I purchased 5 classes on Groupon and had a really good start to this class I came in a few minutes early on a Monday. The instructed Jamila arrived about 10 mins before the class started. She scanned my Groupon and I was seated for class in less than 5 minutes. The Power 1 class started on time and went for the full hour. I would only recommend this class if you know a basic Vinyasa flow ... just because of the speed. I recommend to bring your own mat and towel and water. Blocks are provided. Great class, smooth sign in process, and a really good workout. PARKING If you are coming onto Cain Hills Place from East Andrews, look for the business center on the left and then the alley way to the right of the store front (narrow steep drive). Three months and an update is deserved! A few reasons why.... I've kept up the Groupon each month (it's now at $39 for unlimited classes so still the best deal) and I cannot tell you how much I love, rely on and make a priority of yoga now. My body feels so good and I have been amazed at the progress I have made. I did add the Hot classes to my routine - and love going at 6am to work with LT on Tu and Thu. Totally worth the pre-5am wake up time. My strength has improved and doing both kinds of classes helps the other, and my speed and breathing while running have kept improving. I've also been to a couple other yoga studios (one thanks to the Yelp fitness series - thanks Jonathan!) and my heart belongs to Red Hot. I am still a little intimidated by owner Bethany's Wed 10am class, Adriana really puts me through the paces on Sat morning and I love when Caitlyn mixes up the routine and also focuses on one particular element of the practice that week (ex: moving slowly to focus on what each move FEELS like and how your body is reacting). There is also a Fri 430 class called Sunflow that I need to try out one of these weeks! It's also really cool how the instructors take each others classes. Big, huge, committed fan. read more

I found this place through ClassPass. I'd been wanting to get back into doing hot yoga again so this was the perfect opportunity. This place was highly rated so I decided to give it a try. The experience was just "meh" for me. I went to the studio in Buckhead and it was sub par for Buckhead quality. I've been to many places better than this. First off, the studio itself is very small. Once you walk in, there are two bathrooms immediately to the right. To the left, there's a rack to put all your things. There are things scattered "everywhere". It was very messy. They need smaller cubes or something so people can actually put their stuff separately... instead of a random rack for people to throw their things on it. Some people even left their things on the floor. Just. too. unorganized. One of the other yelpers mentioned that the mats smelled.. I brought my own mat so I can't really comment on that. I will mention that they didn't even have sanitary wipes. Um, do you not wipe down the equipments after you use it? Not very sanitary... No wonder someone got an infection, lol. The instructor was good, but too quick!! If this is a class for all levels then it should be accomodating for beginners. Some of the moves were done so quickly, many people could not follow. I don't know.. I just didn't feel so "zen" here. I had a good sweat, since it was hot yoga, but I don't feel the urge to come here again. read more

I like small businesses so I was excited to give this a try! This is a class for experienced. The teaching is great but the class moves quickly so best to know most moves before you arrive. Tips: When you turn off of East Andrews look for the valet sign that goes to a downhill drive. The studio is back there. Parking is free! Mats are available for rent and free for the first time. I'm sad to say that I no longer love this studio. It's out of control and not even remotely relaxing. The experience is more like going to a packed club than practicing yoga: it's jammed with people and the wait for the restroom is often 10-20 minutes. I get there at least 30 minutes early to get a spot near the wall, but someone inevitably ends up moving my mat or putting their mat on top of mine. They let way too many people into each class and run a deal like every other week. I'm all about everyone having access to yoga, but there's no need for overlapping mats and having someone else's hair and sweat all up in my personal space. It seems dangerous to pack so many people in because there's not always enough room to use proper alignment. They really need to set a more reasonable limit on how many people they allow into each class. It would also be nice if the classes ended at the same time so that I wouldn't have to walk over people who are in the middle of class to get out of the studio. Overcrowded and oddly spaced this may be the it space for some, price and location can sell some on this spot personally I didnt like the experience I had I understood after the first minute why the men had their shirts off it was more like toasty /test how long you can bare it yoga, I was doing alright until the lady next to me mistakenly had my water When I went to get a dollar out of my yoga bag I was ushered to the other half of the studio stuck btw a cubby space and other yoga workout- no exit (that didnt have a body in front of it) Felt uncomfortabe and dehydrated! All I wanted was a new water,but instead I took it as time to go and saw myself out the instructors are serious about their craft, but not so much custmer care guess if they had a front desk person it may have gone differently but even then the place is barely tolerable and I parked on a hill so expect to be cramped inside&out read more

Let me start by saying that I've now been to Yoga a sum total of three times, and all at Red Hot, so I have no point of reference for the Yoga itself. I'll therefore write this review from a beginners point of view, and how the Yoga itself makes me feel, not as a critique on the instruction itself. Red Hot kicked my, uhm, well, you know.... And yet, I have found that I really enjoy it! Each time I've gone I have a little better idea of what I'm doing, and I'm definitely getting results. The funny thing is, the "easier" it gets, the "harder" it becomes. Don't let that scare you off, it is a good thing. You begin to know what you need to do and can really focus on the specific area targeted by each exercise. It is called Hot Yoga for a reason. It is HOT!!!!! I like this, but it probably isn't for everyone. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER BEFORE YOU GO, NOT JUST RIGHT BEFORE, BUT FOR AT LEAST A FULL DAY BEFORE. If you aren't sure if you've had enough water, you probably haven't! :) I killed 1.5L during the class yesterday and could have used more. From now on I'll take at least 2.0L in the class with me. I probably drink more than most, but that will give you a good idea. Leave your ego outside. If you get light headed or nauseous, sit down and rest. No one will laugh at you, I promise, I know. I've sat down all three times so far. But, I've rested less each time and expect to not need to sit within the next class, or two. As many others have noted this place does get crowded, so get there at least 20 minutes early. At least for me, this really isn't an issue once inside. I'd just hate to get there late and not be able to find a spot I want, especially as a beginner you wants to be on the back row! I'm planning to go twice a week for now and see what happens. Including getting there early, cooling down after, and drive time, this is a three hour per session commitment. That's a lot of time, especially when I can do a run in under an hour. Red Hot Yoga - Yoga Near Me - Atlanta, Georgia

Used to be a Groupon fanatic, scavenging new activities like kick-boxing, cross fit, and so on when I discovered this place. This place was a hit, offering 15 to 30 classes at an awesome price. Classes were literally swarming with people to the degree that the mats were palms apart. I only used up half of my passes before I gave up. Main reason was that it was gross... When you stepped in the room, you were stepping on the sweats of the people that were in the previous class. Not sanitary at all... So, a year or so has passed and my friends and I have restarted taking classes since they never expire, which is great! Heard that December is a slow month and we've been enjoying every moment. Maybe they have made improvements on the way as the floors are super dry even though there were classes before ours. Parking is always a battle nevertheless with designated parking for each stores within the plaza, but if you come for the last class of the night or earliest on Sundays, you can take your chance by parking on any of the spots. Though, there's still that 50% chance that you can get booted. Also, there's plenty of street parking if you don't mind the extra couple of steps. If it's your first time, sign up with the instructors, but if you're already in the system, sign in on the left tablet for hot yoga and right table for power yoga. Though we haven't yet to try the power yoga, it seems very popular as well. Hot yoga here is great, in comparison to another hot yoga place that I've been. You have different instructors throughout the week so it's slightly different from instructor to instructor to keep you intrigued and not bored out of routine. After a class, you will be drenched in sweat feeling lighter and stretched. Definitely would recommend this place to others! Oh, and something that I didn't discover until now is that it is hotter in the center back. These days, I tend to place my mat near the entrance so that it is a bit cooler for me to endure through the whole class or be closer to the exit if I need to dip out earlier. Couple other things to mention... Red Hot Yoga does have mats for use, though I believe they used to charge, not sure these days. Also, place your shoes outside of the room under and on the shoe racks. Definitely, recommend brining ice cold water and a towel. read more

The staff here is very friendly, helpful and does not mind coming over to make sure that you are doing the correct pose. You will definitely find a class that fit your schedule and yoga level. This is my absolute favorite yoga studio. The instructors are fantastic and present challenges for people of any fitness and yoga level. The class looks different each time, giving you a wide variety of experiences and poses. I have enjoyed both the hot and the power classes. I would recommend this studio to anyone! I really enjoy the classes and all the instructors. Gorgeous and relaxing studio. I love that they offer 6:30am classes so that I can start my day off right and then get to work on time. I am a typical corporate person who sits and stresses out all day. So far, the classes here have helped me to relax more and keep a better sense of balance throughout my day. I have constant tension in my right upper back that I hope to further alleviate with continued practice. I didn't think that yoga could help my stubborn and anxious brain, but I actually think that I am starting to chill more. This is great for someone like me who is only in their 30s and on blood pressure meds due to stress. The only con is that classes can be super swamped at night and on weekends, so it takes a couple classes to get used to limited private space. Many of the instructors read something inspiring at the end of the class while your mind is open and clear. This is a wonderful treat. During one of the classes, there were only a few students and the instructor gave us all chilled lavendar towels for the last relaxing pose. This was truly incredible. This aforementioned attention to the little details sets Red Hot Yoga apart from other studios that I have tried in the past. A couple of recommendations: -allow more time in between classes to allow staff to clean up after the previous class...it is hot yoga afterall... -have more level 1 classes on Sunday morning and early afternoon -a referral program is always nice. I brought in my friend and she bought a package of classes. This place is fire!!! Love the Saturday and Sunday noon $5 yoga. All teachers so far been great here. It's a little drive for me, but so worth it and the $5 classes you can't beat that! Let me start off by saying I try to incorporate all different types of exercise into my workout routines...running, HIIT, weight lifting, yoga, barre, etc. I am definitely not a 'yogi' but I do know that stretching and flexibility is important to overall health and have been doing yoga on a weekly basis for the last 7 years or so. With that said, I have made my way around several different studios around town and RHY is BY FAR the best one! I started out with a Groupon then purchased a class package when they were having a sale. At the time, the classes did not expire so it was perfect for someone like me who only makes it once a week. They recently just changed their policy that class packages expire one year from purchase :( anyways, when I've attended other studios, the classes are never hot enough for my liking and the the poses are pretty basic. At RHY, I am usually sweating like crazy and always learning new things. I always feel like I got a great workout and deep stretches in. These really and truly are the best yoga classes in town! I did have to take a star off though for the few gripes I have...the parking is always full. I usually show up at least 15 minutes early for class and always seem to be stuck with the very last parking spot available. The classes never start on time. I don't think I've ever been to a class that actually started when it's supposed to. Usually they begin about 15 min late...this does give last minute stragglers a chance to still make it though. I have been there before so I do appreciate that. The classes are very crowded and sometimes the heater does break. This is typical with most yoga studios though so I can't be too mad about it. This yoga studio is not fancy. But the yoga is honestly worth dealing with the parking and crowded classes! The instructors really focus on helping us grow and improve with each class. The classes do get really packed, so get there early otherwise you will be looking for a spot on the floor and asking people to move their mats. Oh, my Gosh... I loveeee this place. I tried out this place after I got Groupon(30 bucks for one month unlimited yoga sessions. Yayyy!!) and I am in love with hot yoga. I have been coming here more than two months now. Their instructors are just amazing! They are very professional and friendly. My fav instructors are Caron, Jamie and Meghan. You will totally love Caron's class if you want someone to push you. She encourages you and let you try out what you haven't done it before. Jamie are is very nice as well and I think it's good if you are a guy trying to be fit. His work is very intense and focusing on your upper body. I love Meghan's class because she is extremely friendly. Also, she has 6 AM classes and it's very refreshing to do yoga early in the morning. Honestly, lots of yoga studios are like money hoarders.. Normally they charge you for $120 - $150/month for unlimited class access. But this studio offers at $60 bucks!!! They don't have a huge studio but if you are a yoga regular who doesn't might showering at home, this studio is perfect for you. To offer low price, they don't have full-time receptionist who answers the phone all the time. But, I can care less about that. They normally get back to me pretty quickly via email. Obviously, hot yoga isn't for everyone. It gets really hot and it gets even hotter when they are a lot of people. But, I love it and it makes me really healthy!! This is my type of workout and my type of yoga studio. I totally love the price and classes. You should give it a shot if you haven't yet! Just FYI, you should bring your own towel a bottle of water and yoga mat. They have yoga mats there but I feel gross to use yoga mats other people have used. I'll do a full review but let me give you a headline: DISGUSTING! I now have a fungal infection! I was in Buckhead for business for a few days and decided to get a session in at Red Hot. After finally finding the well-hidden location, I was shown where the loaner mats were, grabbed one, and headed in. Since I was a bit behind due to the long search for the location, I didn't take the time to check the mat out but that was a HUGE mistake. The room was packed so the only place for me was in the front corner of the long room where I laid out my mat and proceeded to follow along. After a couple of minutes, I noticed that I kept smelling getting wafts of that same disgusting smell you find in filthy, teenage gym bags where they store their equipment after use without ever washing it. It's essentially a combination of mildew, bacteria and human sweat...putrid. After a few minutes of this I finally decided to bend down and smell the mat and, it was so bad, it almost caused me to gag...literally. Knowing there was no way I would be continuing on that filthy thing, I got up, grabbed the mat, climbed over the dozens of bodies between me and the door, and discarded the mat in the bin. Thinking that must've been an anomaly, I went and selected another mat, checking them all for scent and, while the first one was the worst, ALL OF THE MATS REEKED! I decided to power through and select the least putrid one I could find to finish out the class, trying to strategically place my hand towel wherever I could to prevent myself from touching the funk however; at one point towards the end of the class, I made the mistake of putting the right side of my face on the mat, with the towel near my nose, to avoid the stench. Turns out this was a bad idea because, one's face - particularly a man's face - is rather porous so the mat funk had ample opportunity to take root. I washed my face in the sink afterwards but, it was a nice night, and my hotel was only about a mile away, so I walked back, grabbing dinner along the way which was apparently a bad idea. Now, three weeks later, I'm still dealing with red lesions on the right side of my face and ear and the itching that goes along with it! I travel a ton and have gone to quite a few yoga studios over the years and never have I encountered a place as disgusting as this. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague lest you wind up getting a plague on your face! read more

A-ok. Perfect description. Purchased a groupon and it was worth it although I would not ever buy a membership here. There are way better places with better offerings. This place is bare bones- no frills. Don't expect a cold compress or anything like that. The studio is small and a bit stressful (exposed beams and lights, rectangular shape, painted crazy macaroni orange). On weekends and evenings it becomes overwhelmingly packed- there seems to be no real sign up accountability although you can pre-sign up online to get in quicker. I found the teachers to be kind and engaged although class typically starts late since they spend extra time to chat with regulars/friends. It also ends late, too. Water and mats to borrow are free. Not sure why someone else said they weren't. Parking is a nightmare. Get there early or prepare to park on the street. traffic can be a nightmare, too. Classes are challenging and nice. The temp. is hot and you will certainly sweat. Not much shavasna/meditation time at the end. They have pretty great diversity with their teachers/classes. The 6 and 7:15 AM classes were my fav- never busy and a great workout. read more

Miami Circle's infamous Red Hot Yoga, well, it started out as a mix of miserable and draining, now it's still draining, but there's a spiritual, peaceful element to it. My first review still stands true for the newbies, it is hot hot HOT in there! You will sweat profusely, probably get nauseous and/or dizzy, and will have to constantly take a "time out" as well as drink water and wipe off your sweat every 2.5 minutes. But after the first two classes things will look up :-) Overall, Hot yoga/Birkam yoga is like doing yoga in a sauna, that's the exact feeling. It's very humid, very hot, and very sweaty, but the body somehow adjusts to it. The greatest feeling is the one I get when leaving a hot yoga session. There's an immediate calmness and peacefulness that I experience on the drive back home... it's wonderful! Removing those toxins from the body via sweat makes the skin glow, which you will especially see after the shower you take after a session. THE CLASSES: I've managed to go to a variety of sessions now, morning, afternoon, evening, Hot 1, Power 1, Lunch Crunch, different instructors and feel like I have a well-rounded view of the studio. I started with the Power classes, then Lunch Crunch, then Hot... and once I did the Hot class I quickly realized that I had done things in opposite order, lol. Hot 1-- it's broken down into sections, warm-up, balance, core, etc... it's very organized and "proper" and much easier to catch onto, learn, and control. Lunch Crunch-- is like a shortened Power class mixed with other elements. I used to love this class b/c it was not too crowded & has one of my fav instructors Ann (love her voice it's very calming), but it has gotten way too crowded & I don't like the wall exercises Power 1-- this class is a beast! It's literally a mix of aerobics and yoga, in an extremely hot room for 90 minutes. This class will kick your butt, but it's well worth it, especially if you're trying to burn the 500-1000 calories they say Birkam yoga can help you burn. This is the class that will do it for you! If you wanna do this in lieu of working out. Hot 2-- is an elevated version of Hot 1. After months of Hot 1, this was a must try Power 2-- definitely for those who are more experienced. (I haven't taken it yet) Yin-- is the only non-hot class, I went early one morning and it was very calm and relaxing As far as how busy the classes get, well it's just luck of the draw. I've been to packed out mid-day classes and packed out night classes, I've been to smaller not as busy morning classes and non-busy night classes. You just never know. Generally speaking the later the class the busier it might be, but you still never know. WHAT TO BRING: Yoga mat, 1 liter of water (or two bottles of water), 2 towels (1 towel to put over the mat to help you not slide & a face/hand towel to wipe your sweat) THE STUDIO/LOCATION: The studio itself is nice, simple, clean and to the point. I really like the hardwood floors. Parking can be a b*tch, but no worries you'll find a space even if it's on the street. THE PEOPLE/CLIENTS: I love the mix of people at the studios, beginners and gurus, a lot of different body types (which makes it very comfortable), older and younger, women and men. Thankfully there are still more women than men, but that groupon really has men coming out and I have to be honest and say its a little annoying sometimes especially when there's a guy in front of you acting as if yoga is a competition sport, forcing movements, and totally blocking your view of the mirror... ugh! the worst!!! It's not all guys though. It's become a bit of a social club before class, chitter-chatter chitter-chatter, way too much for a yoga environment-- totally takes away from the experience. INSTRUCTORS: Generally speaking most of the instructors are very nice and smiley, which definitely aids you in feeling comfortable. But there are some not as good instructors-- some of them just don't have the timing down they'll hold stances for uneven amounts of time, they'll TALK WAY TOO MUCH which becomes sooo annoying. And sometimes they have little snappy attitudes to ppl who want to leave the room. I also prefer it when they are constantly changing the temperature sorta, the sound of the heat/air is calming and adds to the atmosphere especially when there is no music. Also one of the instructors created a puddle of sweat right next to me once... which totally grossed me out, she stood in the same spot for about 5 minutes, ugh, lol... no worries tho GOOD TO KNOW: If you feel dizzy/ tired/ ovewhelmed anytime during a session SIT DOWN. Be safe! ETC: This studio is great, especially with the deals. The only reason I left out one star is because it can get very crowded, sometimes unbearably crowded, but I commend them for not turning anyone away... they just need more Hot 1 classes times early in the day. RHY has gotten a lot of criticism lately for overloaded class sizes, lack of parking and hard-to-contact management, but come on people, you gotta give it to them for their commitment to basically letting everyone practice here for free. It's $59 a month auto-bill for UNLIMITED yoga. FIFTY-NINE DOLLARS!! $59 gets you like, I dunno, 3.47 drop-ins at most other studios. Plus, RHY regularly offers Groupon deals too, and these are extremely popular. I bought one last year, and the nice lady at the studio let me use it even after it had expired, so I have since going to class for less than I spend on a coffee. Plus, there is no time limit for when you have to use your classes by, so theoretically I save a class for 2064 if I wanted to. These people are seriously, awesomely generous. As for the classes, Hot 1 is very similar to bikram; it is practiced in a 105 degree room and uses many of the same static asanas, moving from standing to seated poses. I prefer Power 1, which is held in a slightly cooler room (maybe 95 degrees) but has a more vigorous, strengthening flow to it. I've never moved through sun salutations as rapidly as in this class. It's a great work-out, and you will definitely be megasore after your first time, unless you have bionic muscles and Gumby-like flexibility. I suggest the 60 minute class to start with for this reason, and then you can move to 75 or 90 once you're primed for more ass-kicking. Sure, the classes can get crowded ... like mat-to-mat crowded, so get there early to grab a good spot and flash the person next to you a big shiny smile when you ask them to scoot over. Then, try to stagger yourself with those around you during the standing poses, and all should be OK in the world. I personally think the pros outweigh the cons, so I'm for sure a fan of RHY. read more

Raise the roof for Red Hot Yoga! This may take a while to type since I have T-Rex arms from yesterday's Power I class. I never got Yoga. I thought it was a terribly boring pseudo-exercise. I tried it in different places with different faces and still it never clicked. Enter Red Hot Yoga. I love to bask in the sunlight. I thrive in hot, humid environments. It should have been obvious that I would love hot yoga. You enter a dimly lit room, heated between 100 and 105 degrees. In the Hot Class I find it really easy to get in the zone and forget that anything exists outside of myself and that room. Power on the other hand... This class is much more challenging, especially for a n00b like me. They go fast! There is also music. The first half of that class is most accurately represented in one of my favorite tumblrs http://tmblr.co/ZKTOIvQYkYiI After the first half is over, my body finally stops fighting me and gets into the same mode that you get in the Hot Class. For the next 24 hours after class you will feel incredible. You will also need to drink A LOT of water. Key Learnings 1. Bring a big towel and a little towel 2. Your outfit will be soaked. You cannot go anywhere afterwards. Not even Publix. 3. Yes, your forearms can actually sweat. read more

Love love love this place. My favorite teachers are Gwen and Jess but I still havent been to everyone's class yet. Go and be amazed at how good you feel the next day! Also, i've found it much easier to maintain a healthy weight because i dont feel super sore or like eating the entire kitchen the next day. Much needed notes: 1. You really have to prepare all day for a class. Drink water continuously all day and eat enough for breakfast and lunch but dont eat for at least 2 hours before or you will get nauseous, otherwise. There is a happy medium between eating enough and not eating enough during the day for the class. Try to get some form of protein in during the day. If you are diabetic, bring some juice in the class with you. 2. Dress right. I recommend yoga pants or running pants and workout tank. Some of the poses I find difficult to do in shorts because you get so sweaty, you can slip. Some people like to wear shorts so its just up to you. 3. Arrive early. Some classes fill up quick and if you like a certain area in the room its better to get there 15min before a class starts. You also need to allow some time for signing in, getting water, changing etc. 4. Bring a LARGE bottle of water. Small bottle wont cut it. However, they do have bottle for sale for $3. 5. Bring your own yoga mat. However, you can rent their mats if needed - they are very clean. 6. Bring a towel because you will sweat the entire time. 7. If you are claustrophobic or hate other people's germs or sweat, you probably wont like it because some of the classes get packed. 8. Dont go if you are sick. 9. They often have really good groupon and other deals so join their newsletter to know when they come out. I dont think i've ever paid full price for a class. 10. Mentally prepare yourself and come with a positive attitude. It is hot yoga... it is over 100 degree in the classroom so be prepared. 11. I've been going here for about 6months before I just moved. Pros: Groupon, groupon, groupon, youpon, red hot v-day deals. This place is all about making sure yoga is affordable to all. With that being said, there's no expiration dates on those deals. This allowed me to come to this place on a tight law student budget and still get my yoga on! Beautiful studio, hardwood floors (used to be a dance studio), and very clean. Cons: Groupon, groupon, groupon, youpon, red hot v-day deals. They DO NOT cap the class. I would get here 1.5hrs early-Yes you read that right 1.5hrs early (would leave work an hr early just to get there that early), so that I could 1)get a parking spot 2) get a space in the room that wasn't in the middle. I have counted *110* students in one class. Yes, I counted each and every body with my own two eyes, as I like to sit in the back corner. That's just TOO many people. Having practiced Hot Yoga for over a year, I'm familiar with the poses, so don't need to see the teacher, but with that many people who are new, or infrequent practitioners using deals to try yoga out for the first time or what not-they should cap the classes so the teacher can move around the room, and be able to see if someone is about to break their neck or not. This place is very conducive to injury if you don't know what you're doing, because you will not be able to get proper alignment with that many people in the class at one time. Parking is difficult if you don't get there early, and everyone is in such a hurry to get in and out so they can get their spot I've seen numerous fender benders. Now, come on- who wants to get their car hit going to a yoga class?? Someone in class once leaned over and said to me- it's sad people don't want to scoot over and let you put your mat down. Yeah, the entitlement levels around here are wild. But, again- it's affordable, pretty, and I already have been practicing so feel comfortable doing the moves. This place is a claustrophobic's nightmare. As other reviewers have mentioned, the classes are always completely packed. They're full to the point that it's difficult to use proper alignment and you always have to stagger on the mats so you have room to spread your arms out. As one can imagine, this leads to a slippery, kind of smelly, cramped, even sweatier than it should be experience. As one can also imagine, this detracts from one of yoga's primary purposes: to be relaxing. Everywhere you look there are feet. When you turn your head to the left or the right, you're staring straight at pair of sweaty feet, inches from your face. When you stretch out on the mat, you feel the person in front of you's feet on the top of your head or your hands. Based on the flashing images in my head as I'm writing this, it's probably safe to say that the feet have given me PTSD. I attended the first class with my parents, and although we were at least fifteen minutes early, the only spots left were right in front of the mirror. What we didn't know initially, and the instructor later informed us of, is that the front row is meant to be for the advanced students so the rest of us can watch them and hopefully soak up some of their greatness. No one wanted to switch spots with us, though, so we had to force ourselves into the largest tiny opening we could find. After the initial hiccup, the practice itself went fine. You'll really work up a sweat and the heat makes you feel super bendy and flexible. The class was so packed, however, that the instructor didn't offer anything in the way of adjustments. I did enjoy the class itself and left feeling really good. As long as you can get past how cramped it is, you'll probably enjoy yourself, at least as much as you can enjoy yourself in 110+ degree heat. They mention at the beginning of class that it's fine to leave the room once (you only get one time, then they ask you to leave) during the class if you need to. A word of warning, however: they neglect to mention that the door to the studio automatically locks, so if you step outside for some fresh air you'll be trapped out there for the remainder of the class. It happened to my dad, luckily toward the end of the class, and there isn't anyone at the desk except right before classes so there was no way to get back in. Although I enjoyed the workout and the way I felt after the class, the classes are just too crowded for my liking. Perhaps a very early class would be better? The studio does offer great prices (especially with the Groupons) but having so many people in your personal space is enough to really ruin your zen. read more

I've been writing this review for over a week in my head now. So I figured I might as well sit down and knock it out. While living in Hawaii I dabbled in Bikram Yoga and LOVED it. After getting injured while running, the yoga kept me positive and active and actually helped my IT band So after moving to Atlanta about a year ago, I put "Yoga Studio" on my looonnnng list of things to find and try in the city. After locating the perfect bike path a couple weeks ago, "Yoga Studio" came up on my list so I decided to cruise Yelp for a bit to see what I could find. Red Hot Yoga had consistenly great reviews so I clubbed and dragged my yoga novice boyfriend and went to a 90-min hot class on a Friday evening. It was an exauhsting and wonderful experience. The boyfriend enjoyed it (and thought he was going to die). I felt the level of challenge was perfect. First: The atmosphere and decor is amazing. The wood floors feel warm and they have a fun hipster-reclaimed-wood-organic-hippie-etsy-charm. The walls and ceiling and curtains are all in warm red and orange tones that make you feel comfortable and energized all at once. The changing rooms and bathrooms are super clean and there is a free water dispenser in the back. I've now taken hot classes from both Gwen and Bethany (who I'm pretty sure is the owner). Both women were fantastic. They described the poses very well and Bethany in particular has a knack for helping me figure out little changes in the poses that make them better. I'm looking forward to checking out the Power class sometime next week as the Hot class has gotten pretty damn packed. Which brings me to my one negative: They have been awesome and accepting and been pulling in more people to experience the fantastic benefits of yoga. However, this has made the classes PACKED. It all somehow works out and everyone fits, but i wish they'd add a few more classes or limit the number. But then when I say this, I feel like a snob. Yoga is accessable and good for all levels of fitness. So I'll shut my trap about it and just enjoy the fact that I am able to go and that I have found an excellent location for it!! HIghly reccommend this place. Although a few tips: 1) Get there early! 2) HYDRATE! Before and during, so bring your Nalgene/SIGG/Platy. 3) Bring a couple towels. I bring my yoga towel and then a hand towel to wipe sweat (YUM!) 4) Go in and come out quietly. Silence and peace is good pre- and post- yoga. Try it! You'll be hooked. read more

I asked for a brochure or anything and was told repeatedly with more force to leave and come back. When I walked out the door the girl quickly locked the door on me. I run a gym right down the road but do not offer this kind of yoga, as the classes I provide are for seniors and was interested in this for Personal health. read more

I love this place! I had only tried regular yoga in the past (at a regular gym like 24 hrs) and was a bit reluctant to engage in 90 minute hot yoga classes... but here's the secret - 90 minutes goes by in a flash!! I now am addicted to 3 x a week. The place is tucked away in Miami Circle drive right around the corner from Eclipse di Luna, plenty of parking. It's a gorgeous studio with these beautiful hardwood floors and the walls are painted in this red-orange color which go well with the temperature - I think they say its around 95-100 or so, and I would say its more of a dry heat rather than the humid heat we get here in ATL. I love all of the instructors I have tried, and have felt completely comfortable even from day 1 (they also will show you alternative poses to accomodate people at all levels). There are people of all body types that come here, I certainly don't have a model's body - some do and some don't but you really don't feel self conscious here. I moved here a few months ago and admittedly I am not a yoga fan. But have done Bikram once a week for a good 3 years since it is incredibly beneficial for the sports and edurance activities that I regularly participate in. With that said, this is sufficient for the price and what I need it for (since I'm not a serious Yogi). But as Yelp describes it, it's just A-Ok. I feel a bit guilty being the only person on here not raving.... If you are shopping around, this studio is worth giving a shot. While the instructors are nice and try to explain form, often the poses feel a bit rushed and are not properly instructed on how to do them so that you receive maximum results. Of course, this also varies on the instructor. I also have noticed (and discussed with some of the classmates) that the room temperature varies in the hot room. Maybe I just sweat more some days then others? Perhaps it's because some classes are significantly more crowded then others? Whatever the case may be, it seems off. But I also think part of the problem (with my criticism) is that there seems to be a difference between 'Hot' yoga and 'Bikram' Yoga. From what I understand, Hot Yoga have much more ability to control things on their own individual terms. This difference is (I think) why they can offer 75 minute classes (instead of 90). So depending on what you need/want, that could be an awesome perk for you. I would imagine this is also why Red Hot Yoga has wood flooring (which is something I LOVE about Red Hot actually) since most (if not all) Bikram uses carpeting (special anti-fungal stuff, but still, kind of odd to me). Overall, no real complaints. The price is great, it's comfortable, very clean, extremely friendly, and overall for newbies to hot yoga, this is a decent intro. Oh yea, and some people mentioned it, get there early since it fills up fast and finding a spot to plant yourself sucks. read more

I consider Red Hot Yoga my Atlanta home base yoga studio. I have been going to hot yoga classes here for about 9 months now and have nothing but positive things to say. The hot classes are indeed hot. You will sweat like you are in the middle of the Sahara but its great! I recommend bringing a large water, a cloth yoga mat cover, and absolutely bring a towel. Classes can get fairly crowded at Red Hot so I would suggest getting there at least 15 minutes early. Occasionally classes get uncomfortably full but this is usually after the holidays or before spring break when people feel more pressure to get to yoga class. On Saturday they have a For the People free class in which you donate however much you want or as Jess puts it you can just donate your practice which I think is awesome. I always feel like I have had a great work out mentally and physically after these hot yoga classes. Parking is available beside the building, behind the building, and on the street. There are two large studio spaces as well as a lobby and a large changing/dressing room area in the back. There are also showers available for after your class. I would recommend bringing a change of clothes with you regardless of if you shower after class or not. read more

I've been to a few yoga studios in Atlanta and my favorite is Red Hot Yoga, considering several factors (facility, instructor, the intense of practice, location, schedule & pricing). 1) Super crowded. That's true. However you will still get attention and corrections from the instructors. 2) Power 1 is a great work out. I did some similar level practice at another studio (Atlanta Hot Yoga, great but pricey), but never sweat like I do in RHY! 3) The most amazing thing about the studio is PEOPLE. Great instructors. And awesome fellow members too. 4) Convenient to Piedmont, Highway 400 and 85. Some tips: 1) Arrive early to find parking and a spot for your mat. Oh, the line for restroom is usually long. 2) A yoga towel is a good investment. 3) Yoga can be risky. Don't over-do it, or force yourself to do something your body doesn't feel like... vigorous yoga in a hot room, say power, flow, whatever you call it, is very demanding. Love this place! I've tried Hot Yoga at a few other locations and this is my favorite. Bethany and Gwen are great instructors and can help you tighten up your poses. If you're new to hot yoga, make sure you bring water. It is very hot and humid! Classes can get crowded in January (New Year's Resolutions) and after work. Just be prepared to be close to your neighbor. But, if you find focus and go deeply into each pose, you won't even notice. This yoga studio has brought me so much peace. So it has been over a year since my first visit to RHY. I was pretty sure I would like it, but it was a bit of a stretch to talk my husband into going with me. I made the mistake of assuming the Power Classes was not hot (only the Yin classes are not hot). While the experience was pretty miserable from a physical standpoint, the encouragement of our teacher, Gwen, was enough to get us back in later that week for a 90 minute hot class. Our first hot class was with Bethany, and I do not think I will ever meet another instructor that I enjoy as much as her. She always speaks loud, clear, and with a force that makes you excited to be there. We have also taken classes with Alex and Laurie, both of which were also excellent teachers. All three teach in the same style and walk the room during the class to check form and make adjustments. I think it is a bit of a spoiler, but if you're lucky you'll get a little foot massage during locust and cobra that feels SO amazing. I can only speak about the hot classes, and every hot 1 class consists of the same poses in the same order. I thought that at some point that I'd get bored, but it is like each class is another chance to improve on the last class. The base of the instruction is always the same, but often times the teachers give a little bit more instruction as to how to get into a pose more effectively. Some careful instruction by Bethany during one class helped me finally get into camel with out feeling like I was going to pass out. Bethany's instruction also frequently includes talking about your emotional state and how that affect your poses. Putting together some that instruction and advice helped me make a significant improvement to my floor bow (heart opening). In the last year I have noticed that RHY has made a great effort to improve those parts of the space they are working in to make it more enjoyable. They talked to their landlord about opening up some additional parking (per an email that was sent out), which I'm not sure if they were able to swing that. To help with the crowding issues they added more classes and took down the walls that enclose the power room. Point to be made is that they are listening to customer suggestions and they're trying to make your experience better as best they can. No business can make everyone happy, but this mom & pop shop is making an effort. Parking and getting your spot in class is pretty stressful, but I always leave so relaxed and refreshed (even though I'm dripping with sweat) the pre-class hassle is worth it. I've never been to a class at RHY that wasn't filling the room, and I guess I'm the lone weirdo that thinks a room full of hot, sweaty bodies is what hot yoga is all about. The studio I visited in Savannah definitely did not have the same energy as RHY. If you're still debating if you should at least check out RHY...do it! It can't hurt to take one class with them. I especially think this is a great studio to check out if your are new to yoga and specifically hot yoga. You may not get individual attention every class, but the instructors will never call you out in front of everyone for doing a pose in correctly. If you have a question after class they are always happy to answer questions and offer advice. Also, don't worry if you have to spend half the class laying on the floor. I know I've had those days, and no one will shame you for it. Even if RHY stop offering awesome Youpon and Groupon deals it would be entirely worth paying the extra cost for their classes. read more

Not sure... Sometimes the place is great and sometimes not. The instructors can be very short when talking to you. I got yelled at when I was on my cell phone coming out of the toilet before the yoga classes had started. There is a better to handle this kind of situation. Overall, the heat is great. I like Bethany, she is very helpful. The classes are very repetitive, which I know some people love but I get bored with that. Too much structure and too many rules for my kind of workout. My favorite classes are YIN yoga on Saturdays or the early bird classes with Aba. Sometimes Red Hot Yoga is just too crowded and that is really no fun for any kind of yoga class. read more

I would like to say I stay in pretty good shape and Red Hot Yoga proved me wrong. Kelly recently got a class pass and this was one of the classes she could attend. So I bought a week long membership to Red Hot Yoga to check this particular class out. We absolutely loved it. This will test your strength, flexibility and will all at once. The session lasts for 75 minutes, so don't start thinking you have made it through when your mental clock tells you an hour has passed We have had two teachers so far and both of them were great. The location is in Miami Circle, and it's not difficult to find for an evening class. But, whether yoga is your thing or not, this place is worth checking out. You might think you are going to pass out immediately after the session ends, but within 15 minutes of to ending, you will feel incredible, I promise. Oh Red Hot... still my absolute favorite studio in Atlanta! I really can't even consider going anywhere else. Gwen, Kimberly, and Sarah are absolutely amazing instructors, so I try to take their power classes whenever possible. I love that the staff at Red Hot works hard to make sure that classes are affordable for all yogis. From multi-class deals to the Saturday "For the People" class, they make it possible for practitioners of all incomes to get in for classes. My one minor point of dissatisfaction - with so many deals, the popularity of the studio has grown exponentially since I first started coming over two years ago. This means that classes get ridiculously crowded. I'm talking mats overlapping, kick your neighbor in the face crowded. It can be difficult to focus on my breathing when I'm simultaneously trying to focus on not hitting my head on my neighbor's bum when I move into triangle pose. I have gotten in the habit of getting to class at least 20 minutes early to ensure a parking space and at least a semi-decent spot in the classroom. I understand that they want to accommodate everyone who comes in for class, but it can be frustrating when people come in after the class's start time and squeeze into the already crowded space. It would be awesome if there was a policy for closing the door at the start time of class so practice could get under way and there could be just a bit more breathing room. But I must admit - nothing could keep me away from this incredible studio that challenges and inspires me in each and every class. Namaste. read more

Did you know that, when hot enough, the tops of your feet will sweat? Because they will. I purchased a 10 class Groupon for RHY back in May, and have since bought another 5 class special pass and a 20 class Groupon. This Bikram style yoga is addicting. I used to have the flexibility of a carrot. Now I have the flexibility of a kind of rotten carrot. Getting better, y'all. Study the website before your first class and you'll know what to expect. Bring water. Don't wear cotton unless you enjoy wringing yourself out every 20 minutes. A few practical things to know that I haven't seen mentioned in other reviews. 1) Do not judge hot yoga on your first class. Plan on going to at least 3 classes before deciding if you like it or not. 2) Don't be self conscious. There are tons, literally tons, of different body types and abilities in each class. (Note - I've only been to the hot class.) There may be such a thing as a yoga snob, but you wouldn't know it from this group of instructors. 3) If you want to put your mat down next to your best friend/mom/brother, whatever, get there early. It gets crowded fast! The only reason I didn't give this place five stars is that it can get very, very crowded. They do an amazing job of accommodating everyone, but I just don't find someone else's bum in my face super relaxing. (Working on it, though.) And the parking can get kind of hairy. read more

1) I found the power 1 class vinyasa way too fast at the start. The pure speed of the transitions in surya namaskar meant that it was difficult to align and really experience each asana. 2) At the end of class I had to wait for my ride and so I was standing alone in reception. As a teacher I always make students feel welcome, particularly new ones, but the staff just ignored me to the point where it was a bit weird. Yoga was very foreign to me when I first started. I was not very flexible and my body did not adapt well. Heard about Red Hot Yoga from a friend. They conveniently had a Youpon going on 5 classes for $25, which is a very sweet deal, especially since the drop-in price for one class is $15. I bought two!! :D My first class ever was Hot Yoga with Bethany. Crazy poses in 100+++ degree environment. I felt crappy, couldn't do half the poses and almost passed out a handful of times. Left disappointed, not with the studio but with myself. Determined to stick it out especially since I spent $25, I reluctantly returned to Bethany's Hot Class. It may have been only the second class but it was better. I was able to stay up longer and do more of the poses. Bethany is amazing, her Hot Class is very soothing and after awhile you forget about the heat. I've done Hot Class for about 6 months. I love telling people about new places and was telling my coworker about this place. She wasn't so gung-ho about the Hot Class but she really wanted to try the Power Class. I heard stories about having to do headstands and wasn't sure if I was ready for the class. So once again, I sucked it up and went one day. And it was amazing, Gwen is a great teacher and I try my hardest to make as many of her Power Classes as possible. Power is a challenging class, not as hot as the Hot Class but you certainly sweat! If you ever see a Groupon for this place, buy it! It's usually 10 classes for $35 (AWESOME!!) The instructors are amazing, they will always have room for you. If they have to turn you away, they will buy your next class. They have a plethora of classes and have something for every level, from the super beginner to the holy god did she just do a handstand on command!! Don't ever want to try any other places, I've bought a Groupon every time they have them available! read more
