This place is a hidden gem! It's easy to miss because half of the place is underground. I've always passed by it while trying to find parking in the Capitol Hill area and when I go to Machiavelli. I'm glad we stopped by here for our first stop after we were rejected at Sun Liquor Distillery (ugh, that's a different story.) The interior is super cool and the cocktail menu is pretty extensive. I had the "minor mule" and it was friggin delicious! It had just the right amount of alcohol and ginger ale in it. It was pretty empty when we went on a Friday night but I can imagine that this place gets packed later in the evenings. The bartender was really nice when we were there too. This place absolutely sucks. The line to the bathroom is way too long (there's only two bathrooms) but that isn't even the problem. They have posts everywhere that says 1 person per bathroom max 2 minutes but the employees bends the rule and lets girls cut and let's them go over 2 min max while I had to stop peeing at 1 minute. What's the point of having those posts everywhere if they're not even going to follow their own rules? Lmao. Do not recommend going to this place, service sucks, DRINKS sucks, everything sucks. I don't leave reviews very often, but this place deserves a shout out! Located between capital hill and downtown it's the perfect location. The rotating drink menu is always prime, innovative cocktails that keep me interested. I got a little taste test of the new menu and Sheba was my favorite (tequila is my jam) . One of my favorite chill bars tucked away in Cap Hill on Minor. It can get crowded but overall not overly crowded like some bars or lounges in Seattle. Bar during the day but lounge/dance floor at night. This is one of the few bars in Seattle that plays hip hop music. CAN WE PLEASE GET MORE?? Their whiskey cocktails are well-done and overall they serve really good drinks. I love this place! I was out looking for a bar that makes a solid French 75 (an on going quest of mine) when I walked past a sign on the sidewalk indicating "Free Jazz, No Cover". I love jazz and my attempts to find a decent drink had failed so far, so I decided to go down the dark street and try this place out. I am so thankful that I did! As I walked in, the band was playing and the bartender was busy at work. It was a Monday night so the place wasn't packed. Most of the seats at the bar itself were taken but there was plenty of seats around. This location is nice and spacious and seems like a great place to hangout during busier nights. I ordered a French 75 and I was very impressed with the drink I was given. The bartender knew exactly how to make one (not a common drink but not a difficult drink to make either). The portions of gin and champange were right on, the hint of lemon was delicious, and the way he prepared the lemon twist was to be admired. This was easily one of the best (top 5) French 75's I've had in this city. I can't wait to come back and bring some friends! read more

I began evangelizing this place over a year ago because I've ordered many, damn-good old fashioneds from their skilled bartenders. But today the curated cocktail menu has been replaced with a list of bottles (that one could purchase from the QFC for less money down the block), and the cocktails we lazily prepared without any regard for the insolubility of sugar in alcohol. Color me a pretentious bitch, but a $19 cocktail should not begin with an unbalanced slap in the face nor end with a slush of melted ice in undisolved sugar. p.s. This place used to be one of my favorite places to go out in Capitol Hill. Till I had the terrible experience of getting refused entry just because I was holding a glass of champagne as I was walking in, a glass that I was more than willing to discard. If I was remotely inebriated or exhibiting such behavior I would've accepted this refusal. I had had 1 glass of champagne leading up to the night and even the bouncer agreed I wasn't drunk. So to be not allowed even after putting the glass aside made no sense. The only reason I had the glass to begin with was to not drink on the uber ride over and have the driver be liable for open container laws. Overall it was a terrible experience for myself and my group of friends (around 20 of us), two of which were celebrating their birthdays. I acknowledge the though job of being a bouncer and respect the calls they have to make. But in this case even the bar manager came out to say he was helpless and wished he could help let me in. Eventually not to ruin my friends' night I just took an Uber home, but the reasoning of not letting me in continues to baffle me and my friends... read more

Went to this bar after a work event downtown in attempts to hangout for a bit and grab a few beers. My two friends and I sat at the bar for 45 minutes without even getting a word out of the bartender, let alone a drink. Didn't expect this on a Thursday night at 10pm. This spot has some serious potential. With lots of the bars on the Hill bleeding into the same scenes, The Still seems to stand out on it's own. I loved the clean, modern decor and open spaces. The furniture was heavy, the floors are concrete, the walls are concrete, and the bar is FULL of booze! Although some drinks are upwards of $10 on their specials menu - various others are as cheap as $6-7. They also have a full bar so a good ol gin n tonic isn't gonna beak the bank. I tried a specialty cocktail that had Absolut, muddled cucumber and ginger. It was rather tasty! Totally worth the $7. The bartender was pleasant and fun to talk to and the other patrons were pretty cool too. I have a feeling this bar will take off in no time. read more

Be still my heart for Liquor is in the bar name and unqiue cocktails is it's game. We met up with a few friends from New York here and found a nice corner spot with a table and seats. It has nice comfortable feel with dark lighting plus a swank ambiance. Nice speakers so the music flow around the room but no disc jockey...it was from an ipod. Still good music choices playing though. A group of ladies had a party right next to us with a raw oyster bar setup. It is a natural aphrodisiacs so maybe the liquor and the oysters was for the after party with the ladies lovefest. The ladies were leaving all their jackets right next to me while smiling to me. :) We ordered within our moods and tasted different mix cocktails with no names. My lovely exotic friend and her bf that works for MTV enjoyed their tasty Manhattan drink. We had a great time and enjoyed each other company with great conversations. This is a fantastic bar and a great meetup place without the crowds that still executes making wonderful drinks. Highly Recommended. I love the space at the newly opened Still Liquor, it's very open, and looks great; a perfect spot to stop off for a few drinks. We stopped by here right when it opened for the evening at 5, so we easily got a spot at the bar with the friendly bartender. I had the Dragon's Toe - a bourbon and cucumber concoction, and my gf had the namesake drink, The Still, which was tequila based. Both were excellent, and cheap, due to happy hour. There is no food here yet, but they do have microwavable dinners for $20 if you choose to go down that path. I can see how heated seats would be nice in the winter, but it has been unseasonably warm lately, so it wasn't necessary the other night. I'm glad Joel the bartender mentioned it and offered to turn it down. I love the space here--it's very contemporary but the rich woodwork keeps it from feeling too modern and sterile. It is a bit hard to find and if you're driving it would be easy to miss the small sign over the door. It's on a narrow side-street off Pine, around the corner from the Baltic Room. Find a spot and hoof it. To start off I enjoyed the "Dragon's Toe," which was a refreshing mix of Maker's Mark and cucumber. It sounds a little unconventional, but it was crisp and refreshing. They have a number of unusual cocktails on their menu I've never heard of, but I wasn't feeling too adventurous so I also ordered a Manhattan (ok, so I had two of them). They were both excellent--although I thought the first one seemed a little light. Still is a great place for a group of people--there's a number of large tables and ample bench space along the walls. My only real complaint is the small beer selection--but the main reason to come here is for the expertly crafted cocktails. The service was stellar too--the bartender was serving the whole bar, but he brought our drinks out to our table and remembered my name every time I placed an order. Order the Pimm's drink! Fruity and refreshing, it really hit the spot to start the evening off right :) When I first walked in, I immediately liked the overall look of the bar. After ordering my drink, I did notice that I kept leaning toward the small high windows like a flower, since it was still light outside a bit, and the dark tables in the far corner seemed ominous in comparison. Note to self: come back when it's completely dark in order to capture the full feel of the bar. Still Liquor has dodged the food requirement for serving alcohol, but I was kindly informed that I could bring my own food in. I'm 50/50 on this idea. I enjoy food and drink together IMMENSELY, and an inspired drink deserves inspired food, but since I am constantly snacking from my satchel that doubles as a cooler (not really) it's nice to know I won't get stared down for pulling out a banana randomly. The downer for me was the fact that the tiny tables were fixed to the ground. Still tables? This made socializing with our large group difficult unless we stood. I bet if we stayed a while without eating food, we would have been swaying instead of standing. However, this is a great place to go on a date. My guy doesn't imbibe on alcohol, so it may not be the best place for us to come, but the spacing of the tables allow more intimate conversations without shouting. I'm sure I'll be back! read more

I really liked this place. We came here on a Wednesday night for a drink. Very intimate, swanky atmosphere. I liked the feel a lot. Good music playing, too. He had a bourbon concoction of some sort and I had the Cactus Juice. My drink was very strong. I was feeling it a little after the one drink so it was worth the $10 price tag. The only thing that was a little weird was we had to go up and order and get our drinks at the bar after waiting for a bit for someone to come over. We saw the bartenders helping other tables and serving them. Not sure why we didn't get our order taken, etc. Other than that, great experience. I'll be back when in the neighborhood. read more

I think Still Liquor is one of the most underrated bars in the Capitol Hill/First Hill area. It's a surprisingly large space, which is fantastic because the tables aren't packed together like a can of sardines. You'll have a hard time trying to eavesdrop on conversations, but I always enjoy space and a bit of privacy when at a bar. There's sometimes a DJ and a dance floor, so space is obviously welcome on those nights. Lighting is scarce because, yes, this is still a hip spot. Happy hour runs from 5-7 PM every day. However, Wednesdays and Sundays are the real winners here. You get 50% off wine all night on Wednesdays, and 50% off whiskey doubles all night on Sundays. Last Sunday, I had a generous pour of a Japanese coffee grain whiskey for $8. If that isn't a killer deal, I don't know what is. If you're here on any other night or don't like wine/neat whiskey, their whiskey-slanted cocktail menu is nothing to scoff at either. If you're looking for a chill spot to enjoy a few reasonably priced drinks, look no further. read more

This place is kinda strange. It's like a Georgetown atmosphere with a Belltown crowd. That said, it's pretty cool on a chill weekday. It draws comparisons to Sun Liquor, mostly in name alone. But you can sit at the bar and have a nice custom cocktail. Just less good and at a higher price. On the weekend though, it's a total shitshow. The bartenders do their best, but when it's bumpin, this bar is reverts to a standard sub-par cocktail spot. So why bother? There are easier, cheaper places to get laid. We visited this hidden spot during happy hour on a Friday. Still has a large selection of liquor and a cabin style bar look with a lot of room. Place wasn't busy at all which we liked. The bartender was sitting on her stool with her phone most of the time, but it didn't bother us, when we needed a drink she was close by. This place is dog friendly as there were dogs inside the bar which we loved. Also, this bar is 21+ at all times so there wasn't little kids running around. P.S. it is a straight liquor bar. Planned a work-related happy hour for a group of about 15-20 people on a Wednesday evening. Not being a Seattle resident and planning this all the way from San Francisco, I relied on Yelp reviews and the proximity of Still Liquor to a work event where our group would be coming from. I'd emailed back and forth with the bar manager Mariah Scee to coordinate and she was responsive, friendly and easy to work with. She also makes a mean old fashioned. The space itself is fantastic for hosting a group our size and on a Wednesday evening it wasn't overly crowded (I imagine it gets busier during happy hour later in the week) or awkwardly empty. read more

Still Liquor follows the speakeasy fashion, but does so in a simple, timeless way. The large space feels fairly isolated, despite it's Capitol Hill location, thanks to the space in the old BMW paint shop down a narrow alley, and some minimalist but elegant treatment. One subtle sign tells you you're there -- no blaring neon giveaways from liquor and beer companies give away the dark windows. Still has the self confidence to present an exterior that no one would ever find if they weren't looking for it. And the cocktails are artful without being flamboyant -- you'll want to work your way through the entire menu of special drinks. P.S. I've been to Still Liquor many times to celebrate my friends' birthdays as well as for my own birthday! Very spacious with a low-key, trendy vibe that is great for a hangout. There is a DJ that comes play every first Friday of the month so it can get crowded on those days with some people dancing off to the side, and there can be a line out the door! It's a 21 and over bar so bring your ID and leave your kids at home. Great spot to listen to some good music with tasty drinks while people watching! read more

Like this place as a casual but interesting vibe to have a drink with friends. Very toned down which is refreshing compared to alot of new places which are just trying way to hard. Great location for drinks pre or post a Paramount show as its just on the east side of I-5, so a very short walk to the show. This was a very chill location, if you're looking for a place where you and your friends can sit and just chat. It does get a bit noisy with other conversations around the lounge, but nothing too crazy. This place is strictly drinks so grab some food before heading here. Hint: Lil Woody's or Taylor's Farm around the corner down the small hill if you don't want to go that far. I think it'd be nice to have food or tapas provided here. Location is down a street where it may look like an alley, but it's not. I like the location because it's not next to many other bars around the street, and inside was very open, yet what was a bit interesting was that the tables were bolted down. It kind of sucks if you have a big party and you aren't sitting in the booth directly across from the entrance. You'll have gaps between tables since we can't put them together. Also, you'll be ordering at the bar! No waiters or waitresses that will come to your table, and that sign as you walk in, it will say to order at the bar, not the typical sign "please wait to be seated". ;) read more

Good cocktails (small and strong) made by a very friendly bartender. Conversations were overheard along the bar amongst strangers or acquaintances. The wooden booths are big, great for groups (3-6 people). Nothing remarkable, just a nice vibe for a relaxing evening out. Currently, there is a lack of sign for the bar, but it has big glass windows, so you can find it easily. Happy hour is 5-7pm, with discounts on beer and wine. Thank goodness for bday parties ... otherwise I never would have found this solid bar. Elaboration below: Location: Off the beaten path ... located on the road-less-traveled, Minor street. None-the-less, it's just barely on the capitol hill side of I-5 so it's an easy stop when coming to/from downtown. Ambiance: Medium sized bar with classic decor ... including black leather barstools and stained wood bartops ... has a 50's mad men feel to it. Had enough space to comfortably accommodate a bday party of 15-20 people ... in addition to the other patrons there between 10-12am. Service: I never had to wait for a drink ... and was even offered help by another bartender when I was just waiting for my order - such a pleasant surprise from the usual bar scene that takes so much effort. The bartender was also very helpful in selecting drinks from their cocktail focused menu. Drinks: I tried the following from their menu: California Prayer Book (CPB), Southern Belle (SB), and Minor Mule (MM) ... and I would rate them in that order. CPB was bold with rye spice, SB was strong and not too sweet (in a good way) ... maybe a bit too much vodka, and the MM was also vodka strong with the ginger ale not contributing much to balancing the drink. If you're not into cocktails, they have Stella on draft. Additional Notes: I spent less than 2 hours here so I don't feel like I have fully formed my opinions ... my gut says this will definitely be more of a place to meet a group of people you already know ... instead of going there to make friends.
