Weirdest people I've ever met. Pretty sure the truck driver was drunk. Started getting ready to hook my car up to the truck and started screaming at some people walking by about something. Not sure what he said, but he either knew them, or just didn't like the color of their skin. Owner or whoever started talking about how batteries cause cancer and that solar panels aren't real or something. Only took cash, so I assume they're a money launder or front? Really don't understand how they're in business, other than that they have contracts with Sleepy Hollow Police for some reason. I guarantee any five star review is bullshit. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. I got into a car accident on the bronx river parkway, police called this company to come tow it on October 30th. My car only sustained damage to the front right side of the bumper, headlight and fender. I live an hour away and had some injuries so I made it to the shop on November 4th only to find my car in worse condition. They had no answers for me as to how my car incurred more damage even though I have pictures from the scene as well as when it was loaded on to the tow truck. They were asking me for MY insurance but refused to give me theirs and seemed to try and blame me for all of this. Extremely rude and disgusting behavior. The shop matches the owner because this place is a dump. Really sleazy people who seemed like they might've been trying to pull some sort of scam on me. Still waiting to see if Geico will pursue this, if not I will be taking legal action. read more

This is a review of their towing, storage and ability to work with your insurance company. My daughter was in an accident near Tarrytown, and Stiloski's came to tow her car (she did not call so maybe they have a deal with the police dept to get called). Stiloski's towed the car to their lot, which was fine, but then later in the day became very uncooperative when dealing with the insurance company as we tried to move the car to a repair shop. When I called over the phone, the people I talked with were pretty gruff and you could tak eit as rude if you are not use to New Yorkers. Several phone calls later, no resolution on day one. I stopped at the shop the next day and talked to the people here directly. I was able to clean out personal belongings from the car and people were easier to speak with in person. I understand the challenge of working with insurance companies and after spending an hour on the phone with my company, I thought we had the issues settled and that Stiloski's would tow my car to the repair shop. Left town on business and when I came back 6 days later, the car was still at Stiloski's and he and the insurance company were at an inpass. The issue is that Stiloski's won't accept dealing with insurance comapnies over the phone to settle charges and requires an e-mail commuication. Some insurance companies outsource the towing and storage services and these firms ay not have ability to meet the e-mail requirements of Stiloskis's. Thus, an inpass that can last for days or weeks and in the mean time stiloski's racks up easy money from storage fees. The problem from dealing with Stiloski's is that thei owner makes no effort to resolve the problem, doesn't call the customer to let them know there is a problem, and seems to enjoy doing nothing and collecting storage fees. At the end of day, the people at Stilotski's seem okay to deal in person with but can be rude over the phone. They will not work with your insurance company to make reasonable accomodations to move your car and this can cost you a lot of money if the insurane doesn't cover it all. read more

i have never written a review so fast in my lifeee. long story short my car started acting up on the taconic so i pulled off on the sleepy hallow exit and my car crapped out. i live 1.5 hrs away. called roadside assist and they were no help so i googled and called the closest place. VICTOR IS A GOAT. he towed my car within a half hour brought me back to stiloski's and his boss told him to bring me to a nearby shop. i am so so sooo grateful. i was crying scared shitting my damn pants not knowing what to do and stiloski's helped me out. i can't speak for their work i saw some real bad reviews but i just gotta say THANK YOU STILOSKI'S and especially THANK YOU VICTOR!!!! not to mention me and victor stopped at mcdonalds because i told him i hadn't eaten all day. this could have been a way shittier day so again from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!!!! read more

I was in an accident on the Saw Mill Parkway, and my car was towed to this auto body shop. The car needed some work, but not a huge amount. I called regularly to check on their progress, and literally got a different story each time I called. After two months, I finally had to threaten legal action, and I got my car within a couple of days. This is the most dishonest, sleazy, and disreputable auto body shop you could imagine. read more

Ok, before I begin I will provide this disclaimer... I will admit that these guys are not meant for everybody. They are old school, abrasive and a bit politically incorrect. However my father and I were in a pretty bad situation and we appreciate these men for going out of their way to help us out. We were involved in a wreck two months ago to the day. The moving truck which I was driving was ruled out of commission. After giving us a ride to their shop they offered us a huge helping hand by helping us move all of my furniture, belongings, etc from the truck which was damaged to the new moving truck. These guys volunteered to provide this service free of charge so that way we could avoid the possibility of being charged by the crew who were initially assigned the task. That crew never showed up by the way. After we completed the transfer they gave us suggestions as to where to stay for the night. Also they provided options for places to dine. So in summary these guys might be a bit gruff and rough around the edges but, we are thankful for them! read more

Absolute disgrace. Called them during a road side emergency. They ended up towing the truck (medium duty) to there shop and said they'd have it fixed quick. Fast forward TWO PLUS MONTHS and dozens of phone calls later. They still have the truck. I have been hung up on multiple times not given any information, not called back & lied to. Having enough I told them I needed the truck and was sending a wrecker to pick it up 8 hours away from it's home terminal. Got a bill for 2k for the initial 20 minute tow and them doing nothing. In one day my local dealer has already determined the issue after having to put the parts that where left in the cab back in place. Worst service I have ever dealt with....... Had a commercial vehicle die on the side of the interstate 100 miles from our yard - they showed up promptly for the tow, their mechanic was able to get us back up and running - no tow needed . Honest friendly people, charged a fair price. Highly recommend them . read more

I'm writing a second bad review on this company. That's how truly terrible they are. I reported them to the better business bureau after the 2 months of getting told lies about when I'm getting my car back was occurring. John the owner promised to pay for my extended rental car because each time i kept going back and being told my car was ready the door wouldn't even open. I have videos and voice recordings to prove everything. I never saw a dime from him. His lies are endless. He never responded back to BBB claim against him. Ignored it completely. Like he will ignore you, and your car. My car since picking it up after having to pay them cash out of our own pocket because he was refusing money directly from State Farm (he extorted us) for $26,000+ still has tons of things wrong with it. This is probably one of the worst towing companies out in this area. I needed my car towed because it broke down on the highway. Gave them a call and they wouldn't give me a price. Then they arrived at my location and still would not give me a price. I just needed to get off the highway so my mechanic's tow truck could take us back to Long Island city- For almost the same amount this company charged us. Stiloski's charged me $212 for taking the car to the next exit (about 3 miles). Way too expensive for 3 miles and about 10 minutes of work. read more

My car was crashed in a accident, they told me it was totaled without even taking a closer look at the damage, I got it fixed later and was told the car was totally fine, just some cosmetic damage. Besides just enjoying the conversation, he sent me to his shop in Westchester (Tarrytown) and they got me in immediately. Great service. Nice guys, especially Nick the Greek. Also, the train station is right nearby. You could totally drop your car here for repairs and head into the city for the day! Also, all the negative reviews are from folks who had their cars towed ... not for the repair shop. Never have I dealt with a business like this. The service, and I use that word cautiously was nil. I had an accident in November. By the second week in January I hadn't gotten my car back. Jon or Joe, whatever is the name of the boss said "rent a car and I will pay for it." I rented the least expensive vehicle, it cost $221.00 and I am still waiting to be paid. I call frequently and the boss is never there.... sure. They say you can have the car at noon on January 11 th. I say meet me at the rental agency at 4 pm and they say fine and this way its one stop. A bit after 6 they arrive with my car and I am home at 7. I was to go out with my grandchildren that night at it was my birthday. Oh one more thing THEY CAR CAME BACK WITH THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE DISCONNECTED! I had to take the car back there and wait for the repair, but no check. read more

As I sat down the read this I see a review that said, " Wouldnt leave me by the side of the road...well that is exactly what Stilotski's did to me. I got a flat, and they came and put on my spare. The spare looked like it was going to pop, so I asked the guy to wait while I tried to drive on it, and he would not. The spare popped after 3O seconds of driving, I immediately called the company, while I could still see the truck down the road. I waited 21/2 hrs for them to come back. This time they towed my car and so I sat in the cab. As we drove the radio came on, and someone from Stilotski's asked over the radio, "How long did you decide to make that lady wait at the park?" The driver and I looked at each other and he grinned a nasty grin. I then sat there quietly in the cab next to him feeling actually pretty scared, and later, feeling REALLY angry. I've told lots of people this story over the years, and almost every time I tell my terrible Stilotski story, the person has one to share as well!! My truck was mistakenly towed this morning to this establishment. The TPD apologized, and waived their fee. He said there was nothing they could do regarding the tow. However (after being quoted $230 over the phone for my truck's release) when I got here I was given a bill for $306 cash! Furious I counted out every dime in my pocket and came up with $291... I was wearing on of my old unit t shirts and noticing all the American flags in and around the joint asked, "Can you cut an old Marine a break?" Without thinking about it the imbecile in the window said flatly, $306 cash..." I walked the half mile to the ATM and came back, paid my $306, and was led to my truck. Moral of the story is; STEALOSKI'S can wave my flag all over the place, but when it came to cutting a veteran a break on $15 they treated me like garbage. Be warned. Excellent service provided on a cold dreary night. My wife and I were coming home from Cape Cod when the car kept shutting off on the thruway.We were towed to the repair shop in Tarrytown in a snow storm. We were then given instructions where to find lodgings for the night. The following day the owner used a scanner on the car computer. I was informed that the repair shop could pick up the part and have the car ready by early afternoon. John Stiloski is the rudest man I have ever met. Seriously. When I went to pick up my car that had been towed he cursed at me multiple times. He berated me. Prior to my arrival he told me that they closed at 2:00 and if I was a minute late he would keep my car there for $90 a day. He also yelled at me on the phone for asking what time they closed. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE if you have a choice in the matter. It's well known that his brother-in-law is the chief of police and he said that if I didn't like his services that I could call the police, because "they know him there." Absolute criminals. My parked 2001 Honda Civic was hit by a drunk driver on Sept 21 at 12:15 AM on North Washington Street, totaled. The driver also took out three parking meters in Tarrytown, and four other cars, in addition to a telephone pole. My car was towed in the middle of the night to this place. I found it several days later. The drunk driver's insurance (National Liability and Fire) refused to pay for anything. This "shop" is currently holding my car hostage, incurring storage fees each day. Never mind that I had to wait three weeks to get the drunk driver's insurance to inspect the car. These animals refuse to allow me to donate MY OWN CAR to a BREAST CANCER RESEARCH FUND until I pay them 1260 and counting that I DON'T HAVE and that the drunk driver's insurance won't pay.
