The greater Tampa Bay Area is ripe with breweries huddled in little clusters. It can be a bit overwhelming to choose. Sometimes, it's really the "off the beaten path" option that is worth checking out. Stilt House Brewery looks a bit nondescript from the outside, as it is nestled between auto repair shops in a strip plaza on Alt 19 in Palm Harbor. We almost drove right past it. We were invited to an afternoon event and this location is outside of our typical "entertainment hub", but I can definitively say that we'll be back soon AND make a day or evening of it! I'm not much of a drinker. I was there by invitation, and I didn't plan to drink. After one look at the large selection, and the many "not your typical beer" options they offered, I had to give it a go. The owners suggested Potter's Delight. They offer samples so that you can select something you'll actually enjoy. I trusted their guidance and ordered the Potter's Delight. It was a whimsical, sweet, non "beer flavored" brew inspired by Harry Potter's Butter Beer!! In a word, it was magical. Hubby enjoyed the 5.42 which is a hearty Coffee Caramel Milk Stout. It was stout indeed. He's a sucker for anything "coffee". I tried that too. I also need to point out that breweries have some of the BEST water I've ever had. They have sophisticated filtration systems so as a plus, the DD gets seriously tasty hydration. This brewery doesn't serve food BUT... BUT...BUT usually has a food truck/ trailer on site and they invite you to order food to be delivered or brought in. There's a terrific Pho place right across the road. They have menus at the bar of nearby places that deliver. Early afternoon they rolled up the garage door and the live music kicked in. Right after that, the crowds rolled right in. The musician was really good. The football games were on TV. The atmosphere was lively and there was a crowd of regulars mixed in. This place has a comfortable, laid back, non-pretentious, vibe. They even have a game room where kids can have their own space while moms and dads relax. Like I said, non- pretentious. Stilt House Brewery is proof that you don't have to be in Dunedin in order to find a charming brewery. This hidden gem is worth a first visit. After that, you'll likely add it to your regular rotation. I know we will. read more

Man oh Man! What a variety of beers. Way too many to choose from in one visit. (Thus, gotta make more visits). A big fan of darks...they got 'em. My wife is an IPA fan...they got 'em. And most importantly they TASTE GREAT. Taproom area is a tad small but with a large outside in the back (along the Pinellas Bike Trail) doesn't matter here in the Sunshine state. Once we made our selections and got our flight, the lady next to us looked over and said "yeah, there are too many choices, their's looks good, I'll have the same." LOL. Nice brewery located right off the Pinellas trail. Great location with a nice outdoor area in back and a tasting room. They didn't have any hazy IPAs so I tried a west coast ipa which was pretty good but not my preferred style. They had some wonderful live music on a Saturday afternoon. Friendly bartenders and staff. Parking available in the shopping center or you can park your bike out back by the trail. read more

In continuation of collecting stamps for the Gulp Coast Craft brewery passport... I would say that overall this is an excellent brewery with a bigger selection on tap than most other Florida breweries. With 30 choices on tap (28 of which they brew in house) you really can't ask for too much more. I tried their popular "Hell Yeah" beer, a Honey jalapeño cornbread lager that literally smells like you're about to down some bread and jalapeño beer cheese haha! As a true Belgian beer fan I was delighted by Mussels from Brussels and Astrid. If it's your first time I highly recommend you go with a flight (they offer flights of 4,5, or 6!! Wish every brewery did that!).Overall, I highly recommend any beer lovers to check this place out. The hospitality and beer is just excellent! read more

After visiting Dunedin and trying all of their wonderful breweries, we decided to head to Palm Harbor and try the three breweries there... we had a great time at Stilt House! Fun atmosphere, really interesting beers (honey jalapeño cornbread lager HELLO). I don't love IPAs which they seemed to have the most of but the two stouts of tap were great. The woman working there, Angela was very personable and informative. We visited on vacation and are not local; she gave us a lot of local recommendations! She even drove a mile to a local restaurant we told her we were going to after because we left one of our bags behind!! 10/10 service. 8/10 beers. Would definitely be back! read more

Stilt House is not on the beach, but sitting in its relaxed, tropical themed tap room, you totally believe that if you turn your head, the blue sky, aquamarine ocean and white sand will be there. The staff is very friendly and happy to let us taste the different brews. Besides their own brews, they also have other local brewers like Darwin, Tampa Bay and Green Bench. We tried quite a few, and our favorite is Honey Jalapeno Cornbread Lager "Hell Yeah", with a little kick and sweetness - I prefer it a little less sweet, but it's really delicious. I love how you can get $3 tasting glass size of the beer, so I can do flights. My only complain about Stilt House? It's over 200 miles away from home!! Alright as an avid beer drinker I would have to say Stilt House is a solid brewery! A few reasons why: they've got a very nice tap list. Too often have I been to a brewery and they've had more guest taps than their own beer. The only guest taps they had were 2 ciders and a mead. I got the flight which, unlike most flights contained 6-5oz pours I can say not a bad beer in. I tried the tripel , stout, porter, golden Belgian, the red and something else. The bartender Jake was super friendly. He said they were out of their most popular beer the jalapeño cornbread lager (yes please) and one of the regulars said that beer is best when they add a jalapeño. Someone also asked him to make one of his beer cocktails no idea what all went into it, but we got a sample and it was delicious too. I have to go back so I can try the jalapeño cornbread lager once they tap it! read more

On the Gulp Coast trail, traveled north to get out of the summer heat and unpredictable rain to try some new breweries. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by a very friendly bar tender and local crowd (it happened to be a birthday party). The brewery has an extensive list of beers on tap (30 of their beers), every single one of them in the 4 beer flight that I ordered were 4+ stars (ranging from IPA, Ale to stout). What I also really like is that the flights range from 4-6 beers depending on what you feel like getting into. They have a parking lot making it an easy stop. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area, or want to check out a brewery with a large selection of great beer! Stopped in Saturday at 3:30 and the place was packed, people standing around everywhere and not one of them had a mask on. We walked through to the back to see if there was outdoor seating and it was also packed. Apparently everyone in this area thinks COVID is over including the business owners. It doesn't make it go away just because you are tired of staying at home. We will not support local businesses that don't care about their customers. Small brewery sandwiched between ALT 19 and the Pinellas Trail with some pretty decent brews. Specials every night, so check the chalkboard. Tuesdays is ladies night with trivia, free pizzer from Fireside on Wednesdays for hospitality night, etc. No Yelp check-in offer, check in on FB and get $1 off one draft. The bar features a "war room" where patrons can duke it out on the retro arcade game, or settle things old school style at the table over a game of sorry. Hell, bring some cards and get a game of spades going! About 85% of the beers on tap were brewed in-house. There were a few guest beers on tap, as well as a collab with the new de Bine Brewery up the street. All-in-all, I liked the joint. It was clean, organized and designed for fun. read more

These guys are great. They have a nice tasting room and all of the other customers and the employees are super friendly. When I was in on Mother's Day I even got a free slice of J.J. Gandy pie from Sam! I liked all of their beers but the one that stood out for me was the "Hell Yeah" lager which had the flavor of jalapeno cornbread and honey. It was my favorite beer from all of the breweries I visited in Pinellas County on this trip. The brewery is right on the Pinellas Trail so ride your bike here for a couple of pints! read more
