We went and it was a great environment. Everything was tasty. The fries were crispy. Patty melt was good. Good portions. Would be back again to try something different.

Our second time here and we're still pleased with service and excellent food. The place is rather large and can accommodate large groups. They have both an indoor bar and outdoor bar area. The patio is enclosed, nice and cozy. I had the Monte Cristo which was reminiscent of Bennigan's!! My husband had the Club sandwich stacked high. My son had the lemon pepper wings and buffalo wings. 12 pc and devoured them all!! Beers were cold, the staff is friendly and if we lived closer, this place would definitely be on our regular rotation.

Cajun Shrimp hidden underneath that is zucchini, corn & green beans

They put in a full bar & updated the menu with more choices. And the food was delicious !!! I ordered the zucchini spears, shrimp skewers with green beans & corn & omg so good !! Yummy in my tummy

This is a new place and when I was helping my grandmother around her house, she was hungry and wanted me to pick up food. She mentioned a new place and we decided to try it. Normally with new places, it's hit and miss and I give them a pass on a few things, but here there was no need as everything was very good. I normally look for the odder items on the menu my first time somewhere and while they have a fairly limited menu, I opted for the Monte Cristo. It's been a while since I had one, so why not? It was pretty good size and very flavorful. The batter tastes like funnel cake batter without the sugar added so it had a great flavor and consistency. I also tried the onion rings where was lightly battered and was great. My wife got the chicken fried chicken and it was decent size and she said it was very well seasoned, and the mashed potatoes she got with it was very good. It tasted like fresh skin on potatoes cooked in butter so was very buttery and quite tasty (she let me try a bite lol). My grandmother on the other hand got a basic cheeseburger with fries and really enjoyed it. One thing we did notice is that everything seemed to be made from scratch, from the fries that appeared to be handcut to the potatoes and the batter from the onion rings, chicken fried chicken, and Monte Cristo, and the hamburger patty was def not a frozen patty. Everything was good and hot, came out in about 15 minutes, and even 15-20 minutes later when we started eating, nothing was cold or anything and we all enjoyed the meal. The one thing I do wish is that they offered smaller portions. I saw no kids menu (though it could be separate) or senior menu which would have been better for my grandmother. She's 85 and doesn't eat that much, and really had a hard time opening her mouth to eat that burger, as much as she really liked how it tasted. So making a smaller size burger for people like that would be nice, but overall absolutely no complaints from my end and my wife is set that sometime soon we will go there again and hopefully eat there (presuming my grandmother isn't hungry and sends us to get food, instead, of course. Next time I want to try their bbq bacon cheeseburger and see how that is (Sorry no onion rings in my picture....I just ate them first and finished them too quickly lol)

Been around one month and replaced a bbq place that was not too great. Great new establishment to catch and stop in just after getting off freeway coming north into Azle on right side. Crystal was friendly and very professional. A lot of TVs for sports and a digital Jukebox. Live bands on weekends and a great place to chill or visit with groups on an afternoon or evening out. Love how bathrooms are titled "non stingers" and "Stingers", pretty smart take on the place. Will come back and suggest ya'll step in.

This is a follow up review. My wife and I stopped by on a Saturday at 2 o'clock. Let me tell you, this place was busy! We had to wait almost 20 minutes just to get our drinks ordered. I don't think they expected to be this busy. I at least hope they're staffing a little heavier, ordinarily. As I said, it took them 20 minutes to get our drink order but after that, the service end went really well! Our servers stopped by every couple of minutes to refill tea and check on us. I ordered the patty melt again. I wanted to give it a fair try and see how it was this time versus the last visit. My lovely bride ordered the chicken fried steak sandwich and we ordered Pojo's for an appetizer... let me tell you the Pojo's were pretty darn good! They are jalapeños, stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped with bacon. If I were the chef, I might add a little mozzarella to the cream cheese to give it a little stretchy - stringy texture. I wanted to love the patty melt but I just couldn't. I thought it was gonna be wonderful with the onions and peppers on Texas toast. I think it would've been better if they had gotten the bread really toasty and if they had grilled the peppers and onions longer to reduce the liquid in them. By the time they put the greasy patty on the super buttery Texas toast and then the cheese, and then the peppers and onions, aaaand their secret sauce.... It was a little overwhelming. The taste itself was ok, but could have been better. The chicken fried steak sandwich was fantastic! If I come here again, I will probably order that. Much better than anything else Isaw in the restaurant. So what are the weird things about this restaurant is sandwiches don't come with sides. You have to add them on for $1.50. I think your choices are potatoes or onion rings. I love onion rings so I opted for them. They were not great. Pretty oily and certainly not homemade. We ordered a couple of cocktails with our meal. I ordered a Paloma and I think my wife ordered something with blackberry. They were out of whatever blackberry flavored whiskey they use so they replaced it with something else. My Paloma was supposed to be grapefruit and I expected it to be kind of tangy, but it wasn't. I wasn't too impressed with the cocktails, honestly I thought the food here was way overpriced. For two sandwiches and onion rings, an appetizer, and two drinks it was a little more than $70. I know they're in business to make a profit, but that seems a little high. All in all we got fed and there weren't any disasters but I won't come back here often.

    There bathroom sign. Lol.

I am so excited that this place is open. I have been looking forward to this place finally opening amd giving Azle another restaurant to enjoy. At the moment, their first week open, they are doing a soft menu opening. They had 3 appetizers, 5 entrees, and 3 kids meals to choose from. Which I understand why they are doing it. They want to make sure they don't overwhelm staff at the beginning and hope.others with understand like I did. For an appetizer, I got the triple dipper. It comes with queso which was deliciously creamy and cheesy, salsa which had a little spice kick to it but made it taste great, and there ranch. I'm picky about my ranch's and I liked thos one. For it costing 11 dollars, I see the value in the price they chose to put it at. For my entree, I got there patty melt. I haven't had one of these in a long time and waa not disappointed. Burger was cooked medium well and not well done. I prefer a medium burger patty but I don't believe they ask for your preference which is fine with me as long as the burger isn't crispy or burnt. It also came with cheese, grilled jalapenos and grilled onions. Those were perfectly grilled. All put on what is suppose to be Texas Toast. I think it was toasted white bread instead but I liked it better than the traditional Texas Toast because it was easier to eat. As a side I got french fries. Perfectly cooked to a golden brown color. Everything came out super hot. It did take a good minute for us to get our food but I was fine with that because it came out hot. I also got a blackberry smash drink. It has alcohol in it so adult only drink but it was lite, refreshing, and delicious. I will definitely be going back and looking forward to trying there entire menu.

My family and I have been eating at the butcher shop for a little over a year, pretty much weekly. It's our go to spot. We take our friends and family here anytime we want to treat them to a tasty meal! I have tried most of the items on the menu and truly have never been disappointed. For the longest time, the burger was my go to choice and the patty melt was my husband's go to. Both delicious! But our absolute favorite meal here lately is the brisket sandwich, a Thursday special, and I hate to even share this because I don't want them to sell out of it before we make it there on Thursday nights. It is SO tasty. The brisket is nice and juicy, and the sourdough bun makes for the perfect combination. You can't go wrong with the side you choose - French fries delicious, onion rings delicious, chips - you guessed it, also delicious. Kids meals - the grilled cheese is good, the chicken tenders are top notch. My husband and I often steal a bite of our kids' chicken fingers and every single time we say, "man these are good". Other meals I have tried that are delicious- chicken salad sandwich, hot ham and cheese, beef stew (so good!!!). Appetizers - Texas toothpicks are a must! And if talking about how good their food is wasn't enough to make you plan your next meal here... the staff are so incredibly kind. We love them! My husband and I truly love this restaurant and love everything we've tried. Try it out, but don't eat all the brisket!!

As the community that lives around the marina we will miss this family restaurant and wish them well on their next adventure. Dear Friends, Family, and the Wonderful Community of Eagle Mountain Lake, With a heart full of gratitude and a touch of bittersweet emotion, I'm writing to share that Sammy's on the Lake will be closing its doors. Since opening in 2019, we've had the honor of serving more than just great food and lakeside views--we've had the privilege of building a community. What started as a dream quickly turned into a place where strangers became regulars, and regulars became friends who feel like family. Every laugh shared across a table, every celebration, every quiet moment watching the water together--it all means more to us than words can express. To our incredible customers: Thank you for showing up, through every season and every storm. You supported us during the hardest times, especially through the uncertainties of COVID-19 and the long, cold winter months that would have closed many other doors. Your loyalty, your warmth, your presence--it's what kept us going. To the musicians who sang, played, and entertained us--thank you for filling our space with music, energy, and soul. Your talent brought our patio to life, set the tone for countless memories, and made Sammy's more than a restaurant--it made it a place to gather, dance, and celebrate. We are so grateful for every note and every night you spent with us. To the staff who've been part of this journey: You are the heart and soul of Sammy's. Every dish, every smile, every late night--we did it all together. We love you all deeply, and we are endlessly proud of the work we did and the family we built. And to the marina owners and staff--thank you for your unwavering support and partnership over the years. You welcomed us, and helped make this little spot by the water a true home. Although this chapter is closing, we are choosing to end it with a grateful and joyful heart. Sammy's on the Lake was more than a restaurant--it was a shared dream lived out with the best people we could have asked for. And now, as we pass the torch to a new owner, The Anchor on Eagle Mountain Lake ! we hope you'll join us in welcoming them with the same warmth and support you gave us. We are excited to see what the future brings for this beautiful place we've all come to love. Thank you, from the bottom of our heart's for every memory. With love and gratitude, The Molina Family

Fantastic choice! The menu is very "urban hipster" vibes. Plenty of burgers, lots of fun appetizers, charcuterie, one of my friends has some dietary restrictions and they were easily able to accommodate her needs which made us all very happy. This spot has a great bar in the front, and a smaller bar in the rear of the place. Outdoor seating as well as covered seating. Plenty of shade as well which will serve their patrons nicely in the coming Texas summer months. This is also a dog friendly dining spot, plenty of people were there with some amazing canine companions (always ask before you pet a strangers pup, it's just polite and courteous. Almost no one says No!). Assuming you don't have a dog allergy, this will hopefully be a feature. There is a relatively new apartment complex across the street and I get the feeling a lot of the people stopping in were regulars who bring in their dogs during walkies and grab a bite before heading back home, but that is just pure conjecture on my part. Either way, it was a fun inviting atmosphere. The music was nice, not too loud for my old man ears to enjoy but still present enough to be part of the evening without being intrusive. Staff was very nice, helpful, friendly, etc. Everything one would expect from a fine Texas eatery. Lots of spicier options on the menu if you're into that, but by no means anything overpowering. My guess is the owner has stock in some jalapeno growers farm somewhere and the food is all the better for it! If you're in the area already or if you're thinking of branching out for a nice new burger spot, this place is great and I will be returning. I live nearby so it'll likely become part of the regular rotation for us in the coming months. We are spoiled for choice in this area when it comes to good burgers being close to Grumps, close to Kincaid's, and close to Tommy's up on Camp Bowie. But this place competes on good burgers and if you're looking for a fun hangout atmosphere, you'd be hard pressed to find better. Easily recommended! Give them a try, I don't think you'll regret it! Cheers!

I called a girlfriend and told her I'd found a new spot: wine, charcuterie boards, and live music. Sounded like a perfect evening. When we arrived, a young employee did her best to find the hostess and get us seated. After a few minutes, she honestly seemed more flustered than we were, she apologized and offered to seat us herself. We got settled, I ordered a margarita, and then I noticed a large dog roaming around. No leash, no owner in sight. (Later found out the owner owns the bar, the regulars are very familiar with the dog) I looked down at the menu, then looked back up, and the dog was literally face-to-face with me. We got up to leave immediately. A dog-friendly patio? Sure. That's completely fine. But allowing a dog to freely roam throughout both the outdoor patio and the covered upstairs area is baffling to me. (My last visit a dog was on the table, I assumed the young staff just didn't know how to approach the situation, but tonight shows this is how Hideaway operates day in and day out) When I explained my concern to the waitress, she said she understood and asked me to close out my tab for the one margarita I had just ordered and hadn't touched. No ma'am. I'd been there less than ten minutes, and for me, this crossed a line. Clearly, some guests enjoyed it. I saw people petting the dog and calling it over. Different preferences, and that's their choice. But mine is different. I won't be back, and if I recommend this place to anyone, it will come with a warning: dogs aren't just allowed here- they appear to have free rein of the space, whether that's on tabletops, near your food, or directly in your personal space, whether you want that interaction or not.
