Great burger spot with option for gluten free buns Food: I got the Guac Burger and it was excellent. You can actually taste the flavor of the meat instead of it just being lost in toppings. The gluten free bun was a pleasant surprise too; it held together really well and didn't fall apart like most do. Fries were tasty and well seasoned. Prices: It wasn't bad at all. $20 for the burger (with the gluten free bun upcharge) and a drink felt fair for what you get. Service: Good when my waitress was around. She was friendly. Just wish she'd checked in a little more often. Environment: Nice patio for when the weather's good, and the inside has a cool vibe. You can tell it gets packed though, so definitely make a reservation or go early if you can. Will for sure be going back. Biggest issue was parking. We drove here specifically to try Shep's from far north Fort Worth. Several friends have told us how amazing their food and atmosphere is. We were here on a Saturday afternoon and even though it was busy, the service was impeccable . Our waitress checked on us often and was very friendly. We started with the fried pickles on her recommendation . Those fried pickles are so good and full of flavor. We finished the entire basket. I had the Swiss mushroom burger, and it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The bun is perfect and not too big and has a lot of great flavor in it itself. Shep's is a fun place to grab a bite, especially if the weather is nice and you can get a nice spot on their deck. We have been there a few times in the afternoon to grab a late lunch. We have had their burgers, patty melts, and wings and have always been pleased. Service can be a little hit or miss depending on the server, but overall it's not bad. Nothing that would hold me back from considering Shep's again. Bonus points that they are dog friendly. Stopped in for a bite before enjoying the Parker County Peach Festival and so glad we did. We had discussed eating inside the festival at one of the food vendors but saw Shep's while walking in and I had read about them somewhere so decided to stop for a bite and a drink. We had the absolute best server, did not catch his name but will def ask for his section if I'm ever back there. He was also making drinks! He recommended the Parker county peach beer for the hubs and the rum runner for me. Both were perfect like how did he know those drinks would be perfect for us?? We started out with cheese curds because we anticipated slow service with the amount of people they had and while they were excellent the food service was not at all slow so we didn't wait a long time between app and entrees. So hubs ordered a burger with sweet potato fries and I had the chicken fried steak sandwich with the onion rings which the server recommended again. Omg. The onion rings alone were huge and crisp and tasty! The CFS was amazing and huge, took half home. We were so happy that we made the stop and super happy we ate before we went into the festival because there was nothing that looked anywhere near as good as what we had at Shep's for half the price. Do yourself a favor and go there, it's even worth the drive from Dallas! They have a rooftop bar on Fridays and Saturdays with live music! I really tried to be understanding, but this experience was extremely disappointing. We waited over two hours for our food after being told it would only take about 17 minutes to cook. When the food finally came out, the order was wrong, and by that point, everyone was frustrated. That said, the servers were fantastic -- they did everything they could to keep us comfortable and taken care of while waiting. The chaos and lack of organization seemed to come from management, who appeared to place blame on the servers instead of taking responsibility. Surprised my mom here for Mother's Day. Had a party of 12 and the manager was super nice in accommodating our party size and the time we needed. They're not open on Sundays. Not friendly whatsoever. We asked for ranch and got blue cheese. We inquired about the appetizer that never showed, and she appeared to be irritated like we were bothering her. Neither came back to check on us or give an update on the appetizer. I asked the male server about the appetizer when I saw him, as we were finishing dinner, and he said, "oh yeah, I forgot to put it in". I'll leave that right there. No need to even provide further feedback on that... As we finished, we asked for boxes and ranch, again, and again....got blue cheese. Needless to say, we have little desire to come back after this experience. But I am a firm believer that if you are not aware of a problem, how can you fix it. So hopefully you take this review as constructive criticism and make the necessary adjustments. Service was slow, and we had to go to the bar ourselves to get a waitress's attention after sitting around for about 30mins. The main issue was with the manager, Amanda. A friend ordered a taco salad, did not take one bite , and requested a refund, which was refused. While that was disappointing, we were prepared to pay and move on. We were also in the middle of a pool game when we were informed--after ordering and eating--that pool tables are 21+ after 8 p.m. I am 20 and have never seen this rule enforced before. We politely said we would finish eating first so our food wouldn't get cold. After paying, we attempted to finish the game (we had only a few balls left) but were rudely rushed by the manager, which escalated the situation unnecessarily sheps this behavior from the managers. Unacceptable. I hope you hold her responsible. I also want to clarify that the only individual we had an issue with was the manager, Amanda. Throughout the evening, she repeatedly stared at our table in a way that made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. This behavior contributed significantly to the negative atmosphere and escalated an already tense situation unnecessarily. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and unwelcoming. We ordered a half order of fried green beans, a half order of fried pickles, and sweet potato fries to start. The fried green beans were so good and probably a new favorite! The fried pickles were crispy but a bit too salty for my taste buds. I would try to fried mushrooms next time instead. And the sweet potato fries were so good!!
