Harrison did an incredible job figuring out the wire was torn up by my idiot dogs and provided me with a list of options for how to go about remedying the situation. I opted for the best choice which was encasing a new wire in PVC pipe and securing it a couple feet up the foundation so the dogs won't risk injury nor my wallet again. This poor guy got here around dinner time and worked away until the job was done, just after midnight. His work looks spectacular and my Heat Pump is back up and running again. I used a highly rated company (C1) found on Yelp in the spring to turn on my boiler. They…read morecouldn't. They told me that I had to have the gas company to turn the gas on. They also charged me for cleaning. When the heating season came, I had the gas turned on, I called C1 again to get my boiler turned on. They still couldn't bug quitedc me to replace both valves for $4k or get a new boiler for $8500. OHA was the second company came to give me a diagnostic. Mr Bryan discovered that the water pipes were completely empty and found a spot on the radiator where the pipes were disconnected. No wonder the boiler won't turn on! However, OHA doesn't repair radiator pipes so he left me this valuable information without charging me a penny! I found a 3rd company came to repair the valves and saved thousands from the 1st company. Forever thankful for Mr Bryan!

But in cases where negligence or incompetence can be dangerous, I take the time. I hired Andrew to add a new junction box to hang a chandelier in our kitchen. At the time I thought everything worked out great--he came out promptly and did the install while we waited for our fixture to arrive. However, when we prepared to hang the fixture ourselves, I realized he installed an "old work" style box that can't support more than 6lbs and isn't designed for ceiling fixtures. Most people (including me!) would never have known the difference except that I had to switch out another light a few weeks prior and did some research into what equipment I needed. I would expect a licensed electrician to know this, but in good faith I assumed it was a mistake. After a week of texts and phone calls, he finally responded and offered to put in the correct junction box. Then he never showed up for our appointment and quit replying to my messages. That was more than a month ago, so I assume he has no intention of returning. Unless you have the electrical expertise to supervise Andrew's work, I would strongly suggest you hire someone else with more competence and/or integrity. Or be prepared for fixtures to potentially come crashing down on you and your family.
