These folks promised to come out and move a can light and a few electrical boxes for us and left us holding the bag not once, not twice, but three times. My wife has had to take off work to wait for them the past two instances - and all we get are excuses which boil down to being unprepared and discourteous. If you can't come, you should call and explain - but all I got was "oh, we sent you an email last night saying we had to reschedule." That email never made it to my inbox. So simple and straightforward (and courteous) to call and ensure your customer confirms receipt. Suggest you take your electrical needs elsewhere. read more

Some good, some bad. Called them on Saturday and they were able to come out to us on Monday. We scheduled an appointment for 2-3pm, the electrician came to the house at 10:30am (which is not ideal but worked out because I was not in a meeting for work at this time). The electrician was very nice and seemed very knowledgeable. I was a bit shocked at the hourly rate, $175/hour seems excessive but maybe that's the going rate for outdoor electrical. The electrician said he was going to fix a broken connector but didn't fix it. A bit frustrating since he showed it to me and we agreed he'd fix it. The bill says I was charged an additional $250 for liquid tight and wire and a new liquid right connector (which from my perspective and attached picture wasn't fixed). Overall, I'm grateful that they came but a bit frustrated of the results. read more

He made many recommendations and was very thorough with the details on what was involved. They installed a 240v Hayward pool heater, 110v Jandy pool pump, wireless Jandy Iaqua-link low voltage system, ran 20amp service to my shed and back patio, and he relocated/wired up our hot tub. The work was clean and very professional. The knowledge he has is unbelievable. Called LV for a complex GFI problem. Amazing customer service. I found my new "go to" electricians!

We paid ~$900 to mount two chandeliers and get the tv room up, and the only thing that was satisfactory were the chandeliers. Not one thing that was done LV Electric in the TV room worked, and it should of been a pretty simple project. 1) recommended HMDI cables were too short 2) recommended IR Repeater did not work - had to return 3) solution to fix the short HDMI cables with extenders did not work, and frankly was not the best idea. Now I am convinced after running new wire myself, that they simply didnt want to re-do it, and looked for the quick fix. 4) The new IR emitter/repeated that was sold to us is defective , now leaving me with cabling in wall unsure whether it works or not, and leaving me with to purchase yet another one 5) Re-schedule time was a week later, leaving me with no option but to fix everything myself due to the upcoming holiday. 6) Dri - Wall Patch job in the TV room would be considered poor at best 7) Consistently late, 4 hours late one day. read more

We just had Vincent and his crew do work on our house in Alexandria. He helped correct and complete incomplete and incorrectly-installed work left by a previous contractor who was just too overbooked for his own good. Not only did Vincent and his crew show up on time every time they said they'd show up (if you've had experience with residential contractors, you know what I'm talking about), but they did their work efficiently - and cleaned up after themselves even while having to stomp through our snow- and mud-covered (regraded) back yard this winter to install electrical wiring, conduits, and panels for our new garage, as well as a new dedicated outlet for a portable generator. Whenever I had a question, Vincent was readily reachable for an answer, and if he was occupied, he gave me an accurate time frame as to when he could answer my questions or concerns. He walked me through all aspects of his work so that I would understand not only the elements that I'll see at the completion of the project, but also the hidden-from-view infrastructure and the how's and why's of what he was installing. His and his team's attention to detail exceeded my expectations, as an architect, of any contractor working on my projects. Their depth of knowledge and conscientiousness for the work they were installing were real, live, walking examples of my expectations that any homeowner, whether in the industry or not, should understand their house (and what goes into their house structure) the way they should understand how to operate their car - and not just take what they see and how the house operates for granted. Recently we needed to have electrical service before a new appliance could be installed in our home. We sought customer reviews of LV Electric (LV) on their website as well as other companies. LV had many excellent reviews for response speed, competency and quality of work. On the strength of those satisfied customer reviews we engaged LV's services. Unfortunately, the work they did was not up to code nor quality of ethical standards. We contracted with LV to upgrade a 120 amp outlet with a 240 amp to accommodate the installation of a new kitchen range. Two men came to our home and installed the required range plug, however, we quickly discovered that the box needed for the 3 prong plug was not secured by anything but drywall. The box should have been installed so that it was supported by a wall stud, not mere drywall. The range installers needed to plug and unplug the range several times. When unplugging the range plug out of the socket, the outlet box pulled out of drywall. LV cut a corner on their work that was potentially a hazard. Also during their work in the kitchen, they disconnected the microwave. When we contacted LV about the problem, they informed us: 1) the microwave needed a dedicated line, 2) the additional work was not covered by the original quote, and 3) they were too busy to return to the house to fix the problem. I feel that the original workers could have told us that the dedicated microwave line was wrong and fixed it during the initial visit (we would have gladly paid the additional charge beyond the original job quote for an outlet- strict adherence to the original job order was never an issue). Instead, after LV's visit we had a range that couldn't be installed and a non-working microwave. Electricians' work is hidden behind walls, so the homeowner must trust in competent, licensed, and bonded workmanship. Potential new customers rely on reviews such as this on the company website as we did. LV Electric did shoddy work and refused to correct the problem. LV Electric's work for us was unprofessional, substandard and hazardous. We could never recommend them to others. read more

These guys are fantastic. Vincent came out and gave me a quote for recessed lighting in my family/living rooms. He was very nice and kept me informed of what I needed and how to arrange my lights. We scheduled (on 6/30) to have the lights installed on the 9th of July as that was his earliest availability. They patch the drywall with a single layer of spackle and you are to finish the rest and have it painted (most people don't even do the first patch!). I called a paint and crown molding company and they were only available on the 4th and 5th of July and wayyy later after that. I called Vincent to see if there was anyway he could squeeze in the recessed lighting on the 3rd of July to ensure the paint and crown molding guys could do their job on the 4th and 5th. Vincent was very accommodating and was able to get me scheduled in on the 3rd!! That is what great customer service is about! On the 3rd, Arthuro and Raul came to my place and started working right away, they were very polite and very knowledgeable! They kept my carpet and furniture very clean using drop cloths and plastic sheets. I was a bit skeptical as they made holes in the ceiling about how the patching would look. Arthuro was extremely nice and seemed to know his stuff very well, he was quick as well! After they finished installing the lights with dimmers and two switches in one room and a single switch and dimmer in another room, they proceeded to do a great job patching up! The job was absolutely clean, and I could not have been happier. I got the right amount of lights without being 'pushed' for more. This company is a pleasure to work with and I look forward to using and recommending them to my family and friends! Used these guys for some nuisance electrical issues around the house. They took care of all the issues, and provided helpful information for preventing them from happening again, and how to troubleshoot them if they do. Greatly appreciated that, since two of the three issues were much more minor than anticipated! I am taking one star off because they were over 45 minutes late and did not call to let me know. If I had been on a tighter schedule I would have had to cancel and reschedule them, but luckily i was working from home all day so it was not a huge issue. A professional at his/her trade can tell you anything. Unless you have knowledge of the particular issue at hand, you find yourself at another's mercy. I believe this company prides itself on being open and honest. We actually had some very shoddy work done in the past which left our house vulnerable to fire! We were clueless, until Vince actually showed us the incorrect wiring that was done in two rooms. As I mentioned ... unless you have knowledge of electrical work, you are at another's mercy. This company does excellent work!!! They installed lighting and did some re-wiring on Monday 12/16. We are already planning to have them come back in January for some other work. Set up on site visit for estimate of work to be done: installation of 7 recessed lights and one light in a closet. Price was very reasonable. Work done on 12/12/13 and was very pleased. Work area left clean and all trash removed. Communicated during work to ensure everything was being done to satisfaction. Even did minor drywall repairs, where necessary, which was a real plus; just need to have sanded and painted now. Will definitely recommend and use again! read more

I used them twice and thought everything was ok until we had strange issues with our alarm system. Called the Alarm Company and they said LV had taken a shortcut and drawn power for our doorbell they installed from the alarm system. Called them to come out and they did not show twice. Kept trying to get him out but all he would do is send texts back to my number saying we told him it was working. It worked after he left but it took time for the alarm system to get destroyed by what he did. Luckily we had a warranty on the alarm system which was replaced. Called another electrician and he reinstalled the doorbell. So I would not recommend anyone use this company and will be taking this matter to court to recover the initial fees. read more

I have never utilized this business services, nor will I ever. Here is why. Reckless driving by the driver of this business's van that will indeed be reported to our local police department. Today, I was driving with my mother and my two small children back home. Not even feet away from our community's entrance, on a narrow road, this company's van comes FLYING and barreling behind us. We naturally slowed down and put our turn signal on to turn left into our development. Apparently, the driver of LV Electric was in the hurry of a lifetime, as he sped dangerously past our car, where there was hardly any room to do so, coming not even two inches away from our car - it was a one lane road, and it was illegal to pass on our right. And he had the AUDACITY to honk at us. Well, the police will be getting a report from me on this one. Parents - think twice before hiring someone who nearly caused a terrible accident to a family of four. Giving this business a one star makes me cringe. I have only a few problems with the work that was completed. I have a huge problem with the way my house was left - there was sanding that went on and they didn't even coverup my belongings. I had to litteraly throw a couple of things out that had splattered paint on them. They used my garage to cut wood as it was very cold out-they did not even sweep up the wood dust. They left the trash-including their empty bottles of water (which I supplied to them) and when I asked Vince to come back and take it away-he said to help me out he would. Really, to help ME out? I paid for that! I also asked him to come back and take a look at how they have left my house-he was not very happy with me. Again, really? I had big splats of caulking on my brand new crockpot! One on the helpers-took a pitcher that was on my kitchen counter that I was making tea in - emptied it out and left the dripping tea bags on my counter and used the pitcher for drywalling. There were several of my tools they needed to use. The same helper, ate some pizza I had purchased for them and left it in the frig. He helped himself to it (which I told him to). I provided paper plates and napkins. When I was out, he found my real dishes in my cabinet, used one and left the dirty dish in the sink for me to clean. At one point, Vince asked me how things were going with the helper (the helper was nearby) and I told Vince I would like to talk to him about a couple of issues, but later-Vince (the owner of this company) never even asked me later what the issues were. I was charged an additional $100.00 for a few tiles that needed to go into the added closet (which that $100.00 should have been figured into the original estimate-this was not an additional job request). After paying the extra $100.00-they used a dark tan grout and the rest of the grout in white. read more
