There are beautiful colors everywhere you look and lovely yarn and fiber art supplies to make every fiber crafter happy.

I am so excited to have a new and dedicated fiber arts craft store in Livermore. The shop itself is adorable and lovely to spend time in. I'm really excited about the selection of yarns and the employees really know their stuff.

Bad sheep yarn trunk show at opening

For the past two years, I've been obsessed with knitting, and I found a community here in Livermore. Stitch and Revel is a new store, and it has everything I love yarn, knitting, and a strong, friendly fiber community. It's only been open for about a month, but they already have a large craft space and host three knit-alongs each week (Thursday night, Saturday, and Sunday), where you can meet other people who love fiber arts. Sanjani, the owner, also runs the fiber meetup at the Livermore Library and is very focused on being welcoming to everyone and creating a real sense of community. This month alone, she's hosting a Stitch Witch Soirée, a movie night at The Vine, and a book club. If you live in the area like me, you're lucky to have this as your local yarn store it feels like there are so many fun events and things planned. If you're visiting, definitely check them out, even just to say hello or browse their yarn. They have a great variety of indie dyers and bigger brands, with yarn at different price points. They also carry kits for other fiber arts like embroidery and felting, plus small gifts like socks. It's such a beautiful space and a wonderful addition to the community.

I walked into the store and the owner, Sanjani immediately escorted me to what I wanted and helped me choose the colors.

I honestly don't understand why people complain about the pricethis is an investment in something you'll have forever, and the quality absolutely reflects that. The attention to detail they put into framing each item is beautiful in itself. You can tell real craftsmanship and pride go into their work. I couldn't be happier with the final result and will definitely be back with future art pieces.

Way Up had pre-selected and well-priced deluxe packages (for labor, framing, mats, and glass casing) to choose from which made the process much easier. You can also go outside of the pricing packages for more customization but we had no need to go to that extent. The framing was done in a timely manner and I received good notification when it was done! To add to the level of service, a week after hanging my painting on the wall, it seemed to have slipped the nail one night and fell, severely chipping the based of the frame. The nail positioning was my own mistake; I was shocked and worried about having to pay again for the full frame. I took it back in to Way Up, explained the situation, and Sierra and the team did an amazing job re-framing it in less than a week and at a small fraction of the original cost. I will definitely be thinking of Way Up Art and Frame for my future artwork and framing needs!

Not to say the store is dirty, but it does seem a bit neglected at times. It takes ages to get a staff member to unlock anything. And as half of the beauty supplies and cosmetics are on quarantine, this can be quite an issue. Also the most recent time their system was done, I was rather curtly informed of this by a stressed employee as I tried to make a return. I don't quite know how to describe it, but it's a place a come to with a full shopping list and end up leaving with a heavy heart and the harbinger of a migraine. I come in hopeful and leave channeling my inner Eeyore.

I have been continuously harassed by employees for being in the store while shopping for other items. I was approached by two managers yesterday because I was looking for someone to give my number to but couldn't find the person. The vendor never came and I asked if I was just wasting my time and they told me they can't share that information. All I asked today was if the employee was going to keep a product for herself and she's said do you want me to stop the transaction. They need to take been care of thier customers and 1) stop buying the products before customers and 2) know how to talk to people.

One of the things I appreciate is the relaxed atmosphere, which allows me to work at my own pace, experiment with new ideas, and simply enjoy the creative process. The studio is well-equipped, welcoming, and provides a great environment to throw on the wheel or handbuild. Whether I'm refining techniques or trying something completely new, I always leave feeling inspired. I'm grateful to have a space where I can come and go as my schedule allows, and continue developing as an artist. I recommend it to anyone interested in ceramics - seasoned or starting out.

We found the studio through a friend whose daughter graduated from this place and we feel absolutely happy to be part of this art family. I recommend this place to all my friends with kids and the main reason why I love Oam Studios is because they teach the fundamentals and explain the basics (shading, pencil pressure, anatomy, symmetry, etc) to children instead of making them replicate an art by following step by step instructions. Students get to pick their own project and the teacher works with them individually even though it's a group class. Teacher Omar created a system with gateways (drawing, painting, ceramics, digital art) that makes it fun for children to explore different means and 'advance in levels' as they learn more techniques. Our Teacher Monique is so patient, sweet and friendly. The studio is clean, very artsy and filled with student projects.
