Came here to get a dress altered and overall the actual alteration work was done well. I needed the dress taken in slightly around the bust and waist area and it cost me $90. The dress fit perfectly afterward and they completed it within a week, earlier than the pickup date I had asked for. The main issue for me was the organization during pickup. I received a text saying my dress was ready, but when I arrived they brought out a completely different piece of clothing even after I clearly described my dress. Turns out they had mixed up the name tags between my dress and someone else's. I ended up going to the back with them and immediately spotted my dress myself. I pointed it out and they asked if I was sure it was mine, which was a little strange. Then they asked me to try it on. At first I thought they just wanted to confirm the alterations looked right, but it turned out they wanted to see if it fit me to determine whether it was actually my dress. Thankfully it fit like a glove. Even after that, they still seemed unsure so I showed Yelp messages I had previously sent with photos of the dress, along with my receipt and even how much I paid. I usually throw receipts away, so thank goodness I still had it. After confirming in multiple different ways, they finally let me take my dress home. Another woman was also there picking up clothing after receiving a text notification and they were struggling to locate her item too, so it didn't seem like an isolated issue. Overall, I think the tailoring work itself is solid, but the shop felt pretty disorganized. I brought in a bridesmaid dress to be hemmed and to have cups added to the bust for shape & support. When I went to pick up the dress, I found it odd that they didn't have me try it on to make sure everything was alright. They handed it to me and sent me on my way. But the worst thing... the WORST THING... the "cups" I had asked for were literally just foam bathing suit/sports bra inserts stitched onto the inside of the dress (by 3 single stitches). No shape, no support. If all I wanted was nipple coverage, I could've just worn pasties. Also, the "cups" were not stitched on evenly. I was left scrambling on Amazon looking for any bra that wouldn't show (which I was trying to avoid by having cups added to the dress...). I'm giving one star because the hem was fine. I agree with other reviewers who said they were pricey - but sometimes you do get what you paid for. I'm very, very short. I don't keep up with fashion magazines. When I'd bring pants in for shortening and the tailor asked for precise instructions, I was always flummoxed and frustrated. I wanted the pants to end up looking like they were supposed to and I wanted the tailor to know what that was. At Stitch N Ready I stepped on the little platform and he just pinned them to look like they did on the store's website and asked if that was what I wanted. Almost cried from relief and happiness. Added bonus - promised to be ready in five days. Got a text that they were ready the next day. Second added bonus - they were fine with bringing them to door for an Uber driver to pick up. No hassel. Store was spacious, neat, and seemed like a really pleasant place to work. Everything that was not being worked on right then was neatly hung up. Would not recommend. I went to have pants taken in at the waist and a seam on a dress fixed (see attached photo). Pretty simple. According to the man at the front desk, they would have to take out the entire seam of the dress to fix the hole in the seat and the charge would be $10 dress, $40 pants. Upon my return, I tried on the tailored garments and told the man that there was a problem - the bottom seam of the dress was taken apart on one side of the slit in the back. As I tried to explain the issue, he yells "What is the problem?" If you can't handle customer criticism, you should not be in business. Furthermore, the belt loop that they removed to take in the pants is sewn back on crooked and does not look like professional work. read more

I brought in my mother of the bride gown that needed to be shortened and taken in at the waist. I had to bring it back in since the length hung longer in the back when I tried it on at home. I was a little nervous with them only having a handful of reviews but I am SO happy I came here. I'm 5'2" so any dress that is knee length on models is like ankle length for me so I had to get a dress shortened for a wedding. When I put on the dress to show them where I wanted it shortened to, they pointed out how loose the straps were which I didn't even consider since they were thick straps and for some reason I thought only spaghetti straps could be shortened but I am so grateful they caught that because it made such an amazing difference. They were very quick and when I picked up my dress I was very pleased. These guys are experts! Additionally, the customer service was amazing, such a sweet family. I took a $600 dress to get hemmed for a black tie wedding and when I picked it up it was WAY too short it looked TEA length!! a good 3 inches above the ground when it should hit the ground. I went back in and demanded my money back...he accused me of pulling the dress up when I originally came in as if I wanted to screw myself over? He told me the reimbursement comes out of his paycheck.....I believe he was the owner and was completely lying to me. They took in my leather jacket and were able to add the 3 patches around the pocket areas and redo the collar with fur lining in just over 2 weeks. Fantastic work and excellent prices! I have now had three different bridesmaid dresses altered by Sam at Stitch N Ready. Each time the quality of the alteration was excellent and the dresses were finished earlier than agreed upon.
