My dress was very well done but they charged me $140 for a simple hem. I was too shocked and confused and quite a bit embarrassed to ask what the reason for the charge was. They did not indicate there would be any sort of up charge or that it was a rush order or anything like that. It was ready early and done well... but it was 150% of the original cost of the dress. Iwas hoping that I could at least wear it to a few more weddings so that I didn't feel like I took such a big financial loss but alas it did not survive a very fun wedding (lol). I cannot afford to return here again and did confirm with 3 friends that they were charged the normal $40-50 for a hem at their respective tailors just in case I wasn't aware of some sort of crazy inflation on tailoring. I had a linen suit tailored and they did a great job. Everyone is so nice and helpful. The suit fits perfectly. That being said - and look at other recent reviews of this place, because there's a theme - their pricing is moronic. Had my jacket brought in, sleeves lengthened and pant thighs brought in. $200 for that... that should be no more than $125. They don't post their prices and they hand write their receipt so they have freedom to charge whatever they want right there and it's a tough position to negotiate when the receipt is already written and you're standing there. They do a nice job but there are several other places in the neighborhood that are much cheaper. I would recommend elsewhere. read more

Fantastic! I had a very nice suit that *almost* fit that I got for cheap at a resale store and bought as a gamble. Took it in to Reino's and he did a ton of alterations to both the pants and the jacket that came out fantastically. Better still, he promised---and delivered---the work in 2 weeks when one other tailor I called said he couldn't get it done in less than five thanks to "wedding season." The price felt like a lot ($250 for pretty major work) but you get what you pay for, and I think I got excellent value for my money. read more

I've been meaning to write Reino's Tailor Shop a review because from the work they did, they truly deserve it. I got my bridesmaid dress altered here for a wedding I was in last summer. The appointment was SEAMLESS (no pun intended ;) ). I did have to go in to get something fixed after I picked up the dress, but they fixed the problem with no questions, and no additional cost to me. I've used Reino's for extensive alterations services for men's clothing and he's been able to do it all. The work is well finished and cleanly done. This is a quality establishment that I plan to recommend and revisit. I was actually recommended Reino's by a corporate rideshare service driver and I lucked out two months ago for a wedding! I needed a rush order on a floor-length Alfred Angelo bridesmaid's dress for a wedding in Saint Louis on May 20 of this year. I picked up the dress the Tuesday of at Brideside in the Loop and called Reino's Tailor Shop the immediate after inquiring about a potential rush order that took only took length off of the bottom and could be ready by Wednesday evening before close. I asked with whom I am speaking and José was incredibly eager to make sure I could consult him the very same day. Prior to the same-day fitting, I brought the shoes I was going to wear for the occasion with me and informed the associate of my plans to depart Chicago on Thursday morning at 8:00am for the Saturday ceremony. I was asked how soon I could arrive and within 30 minutes, I excitedly tried on the garment with my shoes, was pinned, and arranged with the seamstress to come back to the store at 3:00pm the VERY next day. The staff was very helpful, accommodating and kind! I couldn't believe it! I was charged $95 for the entire less-than-24 hours and I returned with shoes of equal height the next day. José and the seamstresses turned it out! The fit was great, the hem was high quality despite having to mess with multiple layers of fabric, and the wedding ceremony and reception was one to remember. I brought in an Australian Outback oilskin Dover coat that I'd bought at an army surplus. It desperately needed re-lining and a little tailoring. Jose went out and bought a fabric that matched the former lining and managed to incorporate the original screenprinted label and tags into the new lining. I had very bad experiences with the Reino today. I know he is owner and can do anything what he want in every situation and not communicate any word to you if he don't like your question about the price. He is very rude to me and his actions and his word he spits from his mouth that make me so upset. I can't believe he did that with me(I'm a women) and he only say "I don't do this job for you just go to another tailors" Even my husband try to asking him to do this job politely later he said those bad words. Because we are already here and need to fix brand new suite we just bought from the famous suite shop near his location. (The tailor at that shop sick and can't work today that make me find another tailor) He looked nice at first when we walk in. he very rush when doing job. But I still think positive because he might a professional that why he doing like that. When he call me to make a payment (before fixing the suite) he show me what he wrote on the bill. It's so expensive for that kind of work. I had fix some of them like that before so I know that over price. I feel so confusing without saying any word. And then I ask for the details cost each thing he charge me. He tell only one detail and I can't do the math for the price. so I ask for more details that he missing answer. But he start to pull all the items from his staff and gave to us. In that moment I'm so angry. So sorry for my English not well but I want to write this comment from my experience.
