I will start out by saying that our waitress, Ms. P was EXCELLENT!!! When I come here, I want her every time! She was attentive, had excellent recommendations, and her vibe was great! The main entrance and the hostess stand is at the entrance that is inside the Marriott Marqui hotel, not the entrance connected to the outdoor patio seating (we made this mistake and so did several other patrons). The restaurant is well-decorated, spacious, and has lots of natural light. On our walk to the hostess stand, I noticed they had a cute private dining area (the hostess said it is available to book on their website). I came for restaurant week so I tried some items on that lunch menu ($35) and my guest tried items from their pre-fixe Lunch menu ($45). My favorite appetizer was the tuna tartare tacos and I would get that again! I didn't love the burrata (which comes with (pickled?) beets). The steaks were cooked to our preferred temperature and they have several add-ons (sauces, butters, seasonings) that you can choose for an additional charge. I also had the apple pie, which was okay. The bathroom is in the lobby of the hotel, which was odd. But, everything else was good. I'll be back!

Last year, when we went to Benihana for my husband's birthday, he brought a copy of the email that gives a birthday discount. While we were there, the server gave us a flyer about the "Friends with Benefits" app. When we got home, he put the app on his phone. So...what does all this have to do with STK? They are owned by the same company as Benihana. Recently, I got an email saying I would get a discount on my birthday dinner. Sounds good, right? However, the app is in my husband's name. So...no discount for him or me. Most likely, when his birthday rolls around, I suspect he would get a discount. Despite all that, we decided that we wanted to give STK a try. We were there on a Saturday for an early dinner. The staff at the host stand asked if we wanted to sit in the happy hour area (aka "the bar") or the main dining room. We chose the latter and were put in the main dining area. We also noticed as customers trickled in, they, too, got seated in the same area. As for ambiance -- I guess it's a modern steakhouse. For example, a neon sign on the wall says "Dare to Be." The place gets loud, which can make conversation difficult As for our meal, our server got to our table in a timely fashion. She asked if we wanted something to drink. I got a mojito while my husband got a Heineken 0.0. It took quite a while for our drinks to arrive, which was somewhat annoying. As for the mojito, it was bitter. I think the bartender put too many limes in it. I have had much better ones. We decided to start with "Tuna Tartare," which consists of: "Hass avocados, taro chips, soy honey emulsion." This, surprisingly, had some kick to it. They gave only two taro chips, which was stingy. We did like the tuna and avocado. We ended up using our forks to eat most of it as the two chips weren't enough For my main course, my husband convinced me to splurge. I got the surf and turf, which consists of a 6 oz. filet and a lobster tail. It came with a generous amount of butter and a steak sauce similar to BBQ sauce. I didn't eat much of it. The filet was perfectly cooked medium rare. The lobster tail was one of the best I've had. It was tender and moist. For a side dish, we shared Yukon Gold mashed potatoes with a Parmesan crust. My husband ordered the "Ribeye Spinalis." The steak was cooked medium rare. After looking up what that cut was (a combination of the top part of a ribeye and part of a filet mignon), it turned out to be rather disappointing: it wasn't juicy or very flavorful, and I've had more tender filets. It was served with the same barbecue-like sauce, but it didn't add much to the steak. We decided to share a dessert and got the "Bag o' donuts" - 4 donut holes plus three different dipping sauces. We found the donuts hard to eat because the fork wouldn't penetrate them well. I finally got one, dipped it in caramel sauce, and it fell on the table. The restaurant does not have restrooms; they are outside the restaurant and a bit of a hike down the main corridor of the hotel. Look up for the signs.

Hey. This place was inside of the Marriott Marquis. I made reservations for two because I didn't know if they would be packed right after work. Every STK I've been to for happy hour in other cities has been packed. I made the reservation for 5:45 because I wanted to have enough time to order twice if I wanted to. #greedy. We were seated right away and given happy hour menus. I love that they automatically give you the Happy Hour menu and not force you to ask for it. I feel like some restaurants don't want you to know it's HH. Not STK!! Okay! I will start with the good. The prices for everything except the Waguy Taco are amazing. I mean, $3 for the Crab balls that had a TON of crab is mind blowing. The tater tots are so good and crisp on the outside, fluffy in the middle. The Lil burger is good and they gave me more than 1 pickle on it, which is a plus! The warm garlic bread was also delicious. Now to the: could be improved. I ordered an unsweetened tea. They had no Sweet N low, which i asked for before I ordered the tea! Good thing I carry them in my purse but, coming. I don't want to use my stash. The guy bringing the food was trying to combine my stuff on the table and used his gloved hand to move my fries over. Now, I know the hand is gloved but he's touching the food tray, and all kinds of other stuff with the gloves on. Needless to say, I threw those fries away. Then, my first order of steak frites were medium well, which is cool except they for sure were prepared in advance and just sitting in the back. I didn't eat those. I ordered some fresh ones with none of the sauce and will done. Those were much better and juicer than the others. Lastly, that dog gone Wagyu Taco is embarrassing. One, one-bite Taco for $9. I do believe these used to come as a set of three before. I would have never ordered this if I knew it was ONE with one bite of meat on it. I mean, just make a regular steak taco and give the folks 3 or 4 of those for $10. Other than that, this was a good experience. 4 stars are because of the prices. I'd definitely return to happy hour at STK.

I love a good steak, and STK did not disappoint! If you visit Sunday through Thursday, you can take advantage of their three-course meal for just $49 per person, which is an incredible deal. We started with the Wagyu sliders and shrimp cocktail, and both appetizers were absolutely delicious. For our entrées, we each ordered the New York strip steak. I added the truffle butter to mine, and let me tell you--it was so damn good! We both chose the mac and cheese as our side, and it was creamy, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the steak. To end the meal we had donuts with dipping sauces that sent me to heaven lol. The portions were generous, and I left full with leftovers to take home. The ambiance is upscale, sexy, and inviting, with great music playing throughout the restaurant. The service was excellent, and both the dining area and bathrooms were spotless. STK is located inside the hotel, so parking isn't the best, but once you're inside, it's absolutely worth it.

Came here for restaurant week and was completely bamboozled by the pricing. The dinner was supposed to be $65 but after all the ridiculous add ons, my check was $150!! The food itself was really good but they lost a star solely for the false advertising. Additionally, the server was so incredibly annoying and pushed the lobster butter on me without telling me that the butter was an additional $12. The whole trip there i was annoyed but again, the food was good. Vibes were fine but they did have a dj coming on a Tuesday night at 8pm, which was weird to me. So just know youre gonna be spending more than expected if you go.

Convenient location with the Marriott hotel. This aided with ability to get a relatively quick lunch I the hotel where I stayed and that was adjacent to the Washington Convention Center. I opted for a later lunch to stagger the schedules of our team during the conference attended. The later lunch allowed for opportunity to dine from the happy hour menu which was honored from 2:30 to 6:30; an adequate time frame for late lunch or early dinner. Had previously dined at the STK in Atlanta, and found this location to have a larger footprint. It had a larger bar with many seats, and tables near the entrance and rear. Most convention participants opted for seating at the bar for quicker service. The bar staff was attentive and received service after a brief wait. Took advantage of the large happy hour offerings and ordered the burger with truffle fries, crispy calamari and tuna tartare tacos, Combined three happy hour dishes resulted in a full meal. Two would have sufficed. I listed meal selections in order of my preferences - the burger was well made and flavorful. The calamari was good and a nice portion. I was not as impressed with the tacos or truffle fries. The tuna in the tacos was tasty, but the guacamole topping did not taste authentic. I am a connoisseur of fries and love truffle oil. These were a bit off. It may have been the preparation or need for more truffle oil. Also love guacamole, preferably hand made and fresh. The guacamole on top of the tacos resembled a spread from a packet and gave the same texture and taste. A bit off putting due to having a decent tuna base. For the discounted price, I was able to sample different items and remain within my company's lunch budget amount. Still believe that convenience of location makes STK a solid choice when not able or desirable to venture outside of the hotel.

Food was good. Service was mediocre. Filet was tender. Love how they torch butter to drip on top of the steak. If you're looking for a romantic place it looks like it would be that way until you get inside and they're blasting dance club music. I would probably not come back.

STK DC came through for Friday happy hour! A good friend and I stopped by after work, and it definitely did not disappoint. While I'm personally not a huge fan of STK for dinner, their happy hour and brunch menus are where they really shine. We grabbed seats at the bar, and the bartender was fantastic from start to finish. She was attentive, friendly, and took the time to ask what flavors and dishes we typically enjoy before making recommendations. Service like that always makes a difference. We started with the Castaway (a refreshing tequila cocktail) and an Old Fashioned before diving into the food. For bites, we ordered the short rib quesadilla , truffle fries , wagyu taco, tuna tartare taco , and wagyu meatballs. Everything was delicious, especially the truffle fries, which never disappoint. The short rib quesadilla was packed with flavor, and both tacos were excellent. My only critique would be the wagyu meatballs, which were good but could have used a little more seasoning. Also, $9 for a single taco feels a bit steep, even by DC standards. One of the unexpected highlights of the evening was the atmosphere. We ended up chatting with current and former employees who were hanging out at the bar. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, joking with us throughout the evening and even buying us a round of shots . Between the friendly crowd and the stellar bartending team, the experience felt much more personal than your typical chain steakhouse visit. The restaurant itself is much larger than I expected, with a spacious layout and a great-sized patio perfect for warmer weather. It's located inside a hotel where I've attended events before, but this was my first time visiting this STK location. If you're looking for a lively happy hour spot with solid cocktails, shareable bites, and great service, STK DC is worth a visit. Just be prepared for a few menu items that might make your wallet do a double take.

I was really disappointed with my experience at STK. Given the reputation and pricing, I expected much better. Our party ordered the burrata, fried rice, steak frites, oysters, steak tartare, tacos, tequila cocktails, and an espresso martini. Unfortunately, the only items we actually enjoyed were the tacos, the fried rice, and the drinks. The tequila cocktails and espresso martini were excellent and were easily the highlight of the evening. The food, however, was a major letdown. The burrata seemed old, was firm instead of creamy, and was served without any bread or crackers, which made the dish feel incomplete. The steak frites arrived cold and lacked flavor. The oysters were not enjoyable, and we waited an unusually long time for cocktail sauce, only to initially receive two containers of vinegar. The steak tartare was also disappointing and not something we could finish. While the bartenders did a good job keeping drinks flowing and were pleasant throughout the evening, the food service was extremely slow. We wanted to speak with a manager about our experience, but never had the opportunity. Even getting the check and paying the bill took far longer than it should have. For a restaurant at this price point, the quality of the food and overall dining experience simply did not meet expectations. We left feeling disappointed and with no desire to return

We waited over 2 hours just to get our food and honestly for the price it wasn't worth it. The food isn't life changing and I personally believe you can find better at a more affordable price. You're mostly paying for the ambiance and the name brand in my opinion. I would say that our server was very nice and the music the DJ played was good. Even after the extremely long wait the manager didn't even want to give us a discount on our bill and we had to ask to be compensated and after spending $200+ the 10% compensation wasn't even worth it because everything is so expensive. People who sat down 30+ minutes after us got their food, finished, and left before we even got our entrees.

Came to STK to try out their happy hour. It's located inside the hotel. The service was really good and the drink that I had was good as well. Happy hour food is smaller versions of what is on the larger menu and for the most part it was good. Nice atmosphere inside and there is also outdoor seating if you prefer that.

This restaurant is inside the Marriott Marquis right by the Mt Vernon convention center so evening time brings in a lot of post work traffic. I went there for the happy hour since small bites were between $3 and $9. The food was delicious and I loved every thing we ordered. We got the tater tots ($3), short rib quesadilla ($6) which was extremely delicious, popcorn chicken ($9), and several cheeseburgers with fries ($12). The cheeseburgers come with chips but we wanted fries which were a $3 upgrade. I would've gotten chips if our server had informed us of the surcharge for fries since we didn't eat much of it at all (they were delicious though). The cheeseburgers were very good and I'd be down to come back for just the burgers. The cocktails were also $9 and we got the mojito and the strawberry guava gin drink, both were great. The space was packed for happy hour and the vibe was upbeat. I'd come back for the happy hour anytime. Highly recommend!

I have a couple of go-to steakhouses in DC that are excellent. Despite some of the mixed reviews, I decided to venture out and give STK a shot. I figured, they've been in business for a while now, they must be decent. Also, how bad can you mess up steak? The vibe is like if the Express clothing store was a restaurant. They want it to be cool, trendy, but it's trying way too hard. The music is loud, so if you want to feel like you're in a club while eating dinner, maybe you'll like the vibe. It doesn't matter how cool they try to make it - the food was awful. This was the saddest steak I've ever ordered a restaurant. Thin, grisly. Definitely nowhere near a $100 steak. My friend's steak was the same. We were so disappointed - and felt scammed for the price vs the value of our dinner. I suspect they're only in business because they're located IN a hotel right next to the Convention Center. They get travelers who don't know any better. Now that I think about it.. This is pretty much a tourist trap. Avoid. read more

STK (Washington DC) ..... Though it should be more aptly named - Skip This Kitchen! or Service Tragically Klunky! **We were all set and excited for a double date at the new STK, which boasts its reintroduction as a 'Not Your Daddy's Steakhouse'. Not only was this supposed to be a new, improved & more fun take on a traditional steakhouse restaurant but the website boasts a Sunday thru Thursday fixed-price, 'Steak Night', set-menu special which we were 100% here for. Of course we were hooked and excited by the Tik-toks and IG reviews even going as far as calling ahead the day of to confirm the 'Steak Night' special was still an available option for our table size. Spoiler Alert: It wasn't. ^^First off, the signs were there early that this definitely wasn't my Daddy's or Momma's steak house as our hostess seemed annoyed with us to do.....hosting?....removing extra place settings and handing the paper menus out to us seemed to upset her. Then our waiter, who admittedly was new (his words), engaged us to take our drink and food orders without actually mentioning anything of the starters or the food items on the menu. We weren't discouraged though as we'd already decided to elect the Steak Night option for the whole table. Surprise, surprise, though, the waiter told us that per the training (his words), you can only order that when sitting in pairs at smaller tables and he'd have to check??? Hmmm, okay. Of course he came back and said it's not available, and could only be served to pairs of two at single tables, despite the full table wanting this. Additionally, he said they couldn't even offer it, because they didn't have the Prosecco that comes with that option. #Bait and switch much? So after getting told the special that's prominently on their website isn't available we resigned and picked our entire dinner selection as the waiter highly suggested we tell him all of our selections up front. Clearly, he wasn't here for any additional engagement with the table. As for the actual food, 'meh'. We had to inquire multiple times for bread. Our starters came out cold and when the steaks finally arrived we had to coordinate removing of plates ourself so entrees could even be delivered. Seems like training here doesn't include removing dinnerware and keeping tables clear for more ordered items. **Finally, to add insult to injury and to confirm this place isn't for Daddy's, Momma's or Cousins. When the steaks arrived there was an awkward butter-melting ceremony involving a moving live torch being brought awfully close behind multiple heads of hair and dropped butter... only for steak to finally be eaten luke-warm and with sauces to be forgotten. Long story short our experience of STK in the Marriott Marquis could be called Sad, Tasteless, Kind of a letdown! read more

After having trouble making reservations at other restaurants for my birthday, I am so glad I tried STK. #1, the customer service when trying to make the reservation was fantastic and they were helping. #2, the ease of booking a table for 8 without extra nonsense. But let me get to the best part - #3, they went above and beyond to make me feel special for my birthday. AMAZING FOOD! We came for my birthday dinner and it was absolutely amazing! From the entrance it was stunning! The table was in a perfect view of the restaurant. Please get better chefs. If yall reading any bad reviews about this restaurant as far as food please believe it. I came here for my husband's birthday last night. February 15, 26. Worst steak my husband has ever had. $80 down the drain for that. Super dry and no flavor. I tried a piece and it was horrible. We've had way better at outback steakhouse!!!! I told him i'm going to get the manager because this is a disgrace, but he told me just leave it alone and we won't come back. I ordered the braised short ribs for $60. Child, they tried but they didnt get it right. It was tender but they didn't hit the nail on the head with flavor. Ive had way better for half the price at other restaurants. We actually went to Cuba Libra the night before for Valentines and the steaks were really good and tender. We would go back there for steaks. Another bad thing about STK is the bathroom is all the way down the hall in the hotel. They dont even have a bathroom. This is a cute place just to get dolled up and take some pictures and just order some side dishes. Please don't get main dishes here. The prices are too outrageous to have subpar and bad food like the experience we had here. My homegirl told me today that she wish she would've warned me because she had the same bad experience with her food. She said she only liked the atmosphere. Oh and service was not the best. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!! Me and my friends went to STK on March 28th for happy hour. We received our bill and paid by splitting the bill. We received our receipt and noticed that the amount on the receipt was higher than the bill we received. The manager told us that somehow numerous desserts were mistakenly added to our bill. This was after they had given us our bill. Suspicious. The manager offered us dessert to make a whole. We declined because we were going somewhere else. We requested a refund. The general manager Bryan Sundriyal took my credit card information to provide the refund. As of today, I still have not received my refund. Service was inattentive and rushed and included a botched bill in the end ... we were given the bill for the next door neighbor table. Food was average at best. Steak was over cooked. Waiter was dismissive when we asked to customize one of the entrees ... STK's version of "have it our way." You're a steak house, ok, not a Michelin Five Star. Also annoying that they have no restrooms, but "share" with the Marriott lobby, Starbucks, a pub and another restaurant. That means a pretty good walk out of the restaurant and an across to the other side and back. I really hate to say this, but this place is essentially fake fine dining. We went here for my sister's birthday, and while the food was good and the ambiance was fun, the service was a major letdown. First, we ordered drinks, which took a while to arrive--not a huge issue in itself. But when my friend asked for a straw, and then again for a straw and some pepper when our appetizer arrived, it took another 10 minutes, and we still didn't receive them. It might seem minor, but being ignored after asking repeatedly and not being checked on for 15-20 minutes is unacceptable. We got there at 10 and didn't leave until 12:30. The food eventually came out and was delicious, but by that time, the straw still hadn't arrived, and my friend had already finished her salad. We did receive complimentary birthday shots, which was a nice touch, but when dessert was served, they cleared only half of the plates. I ended up handing the dirty ones to the waiter while they were singing "Happy Birthday," which was awkward and unpleasant. To top it off, when we received the bill, they had charged us for the "on-the-house" birthday dessert. Although the waiter corrected it after we pointed it out, we noticed they also charged us for a full mojito when it was a virgin one. When it was time to pay, they wouldn't split the bill properly and could only divide it three ways. It wasn't the end of the world, but it was definitely annoying. For a restaurant with such high prices, I expected a level of service that matched. Instead, we barely saw our waiter, had to repeatedly ask for things, and felt like they were trying to pad the bill for a better tip. This place seems more concerned with its Instagram aesthetic than with providing quality service. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed. read more

Caveat: this was a Thanksgiving Day meal, and I hear there was a corporate chef for the day. Okay, now to it: Ambiance: The "chic lounge" they promise is evident. For me, the canned music selection was ok, but played far too loud. Service: excellent, attentive without being overly intrusive. Food: we shared a king crab appetizer. Tasty, but 2 1/2 medium size legs for $75? I like the way they divide the steaks into 3 different size categories. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, which is not common these days. My partner wants medium, while I like medium rare, and most steakhouses don't make any distinction. Kudos, STK! We had two sides, sweet corn pudding, which was great...and then there was the potato puree. Now I know this is different from mashed potatoes, but I expect something with more taste than a raw potato. I could see browning from parmesan on top, but my tongue detected no cheese and no seasoning whatsoever. STK recovered with excellent deserts of cheesecake with berries and apple pie with ice cream. Overall, a good meal, pricey ($350 for 2 before tip) like all steakhouses unless you're going to Outback it. In my opinion, better suited to a group than a romantic couple. read more

Came here for a group dinner and have to say, I had a pleasant experience from start to finish mostly thanks to our server Andre! The food was amazing, I had the Chilean sea bass and it was the most delicious sea bass I've had. One of the members of my party had the steak and I did sample it and it was pretty good. The reason this review earned three stars was because of venue management. An important aspect of North Hall is that they will not let you do any setup prior to the event unless you pay per hour. As an example: our event started at 5pm and we had to pay 500$ more to start setup at 3pm. The real issue arose when we were informed that we could not leave anything in a closet or kitchen in order to make the "day-of" prep easier. Management allowed absolutely nothing from entering or remaining in the space despite there being no event prior to our reception. On a positive note, the two hour setup window provided a testament to how amazing our vendors were; they created a beautiful space with no help from North Hall. The management induced plenty of undue stress by being unclear of what permits were needed for the event. They went on to remind us with little time to prepare. This issue manifested itself one week prior to our wedding day, where our wedding coordinator, my wife, and myself scrambled to get permits for food, alcohol, etc. Overall, North Hall is truly lovely, but future customers should be aware that this venue is fortified by the bureaucracy of Washington D.C. Much like your local trip to the DMV, illogical policies and the lack of regard for the individual reign supreme. Weddings are stressful and emotional, no one should have to deal with the inefficiencies of government and the shortcomings of bureaucrats on their special day.

I booked reservations on line for two people Saturday 1:30 which was $15pp. the time slots after…read morethat were $17pp. We took a little longer then expected to find a parking spot so we arrived 10 mins late to our booking time. The staff was so nice they slid our time slot by 15 mins so we could keep to the 90min total duration. We were quickly taken to our bay and was provided instructions on logging in to the system and selecting the games etc. the games were sooo fun! It really showed our competitive spirit! There were lines on the ground denoting your level of expertise so it's customizable to your skill level. We order a few drinks which were delivered quickly and tasted fantastic! The decor and vibe was so awesome!! There was so much to see and surprises at every turn. No spoilers but check it out! Of course we will be back!!

During my most recent visit for the Krewe of Pyros day party, I enjoyed the relaxed open space atmosphere, when the weather warms up, the outdoor bar and seating becomes the spot. While the food leans toward standard American fare, the venue often features food vendors, adding a refreshing variety based on the event. Parking in the area can be a bit challenging, but I've usually been lucky enough to find street parking, even on snowy days. One area I'd like to see improvement in is the cocktail selection; I'm a fan of well-mixed drinks and would appreciate more options beyond the basics.

My wife and I went to STK in Washington, DC, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We originally went because we saw the steak special advertised on their website, but we ended up taking advantage of the happy hour menu and tried several different items. Everything we ordered was enjoyable, and it turned into a really fun dining experience. The highlight of our visit, however, was our server, Jasmine G. It was only her third day on the job, but you honestly wouldn't have known it. From the moment we arrived, she greeted us quickly, was attentive, and made sure we were taken care of. Our food came out quickly, and she genuinely made us feel like our anniversary was important to her. We had actually gone to another restaurant the day before where we felt completely overlooked and weren't even properly acknowledged. That experience made us appreciate STK even more. The difference was night and day. Jasmine showed us what good customer service looks like by being attentive, welcoming, and simply caring about us as customers. For dessert, we ordered the warm cookie, and Jasmine went the extra mile by having "Happy Anniversary" written on the plate. She also surprised us with two glasses of champagne to celebrate. Those small personal touches meant a lot and made our anniversary feel special. Because Jasmine was only on her third day and still managed to provide such great service, we made sure to let her manager know how impressed we were with her. Me and my friends visited STK on 9/28 for a birthday brunch celebration reserved for 10 people. Upon arriving, they did not allow us to asking that more of are party needed to arrive first although 7/10 of us were there. After waiting for several minutes we were finally told we could be seated. Once seated we were greeted by the bartender of whom I found out was also my server. She was extremely nice but seeing as though she was doing both jobs, there were delays in our service which she is not to blame for. Once we received our food, things were missing, prepared incorrectly, and delayed. A conversation regarding our experience and a percentage was taken off but there was an item that should have been removed completely in which it was still on the bill. The assistant manager unfortunately had an attitude and very rudely described how she is not able to remove things from the bill but will make an exception. Her attitude was horrible and could have ruined our brunch. To Ana (I believe that was her name), our bartender- I'd like to say thank you and great job. I would advise some leadership training and coaching for the assistant manager and training to the cook staff although the chef was extremely nice and apologized for the mix up. 2 stars are for aesthetics and the bartender :) read more

The energy is high, and the vibe is modern, making it a great spot for a night out rather than an intimate dinner. Now, onto the food. The meal started strong with the **bread and butter**--soft, fluffy, warm, and undeniably delicious. For appetizers, we had the **Lil' Burgers and the Burrito**, both of which were outstanding. The Lil' Burgers, in particular, were my favorite part of the entire meal--perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. For sides, we chose the **Mac & Cheese and Sweet Corn Pudding**, both of which were delightful and complemented the meal well. The **Apple Pie** for dessert was just okay--nothing special, but it got the job done. The biggest letdown was the **Ribeye**--underwhelming and not nearly as impressive as expected. Given STK's reputation as a steakhouse, I anticipated much more. On the other hand, the **Filet** was well-received by others at the table, so perhaps that's the better choice. Overall, I'd rate STK DC a **6/10**. While some dishes were excellent, the steak--the supposed star of the show--fell short. I've been told the **STK in NYC is superior**, so I may give that location a try and see how it compares. read more

I recently dined at STK Washington DC inside the Marriott Marquis and left extremely disappointed, especially considering the price point. I ordered the 10 oz. Ribeye with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and two margaritas. When my steak arrived, it was barely warm and had no sear. After speaking with a manager, I sent it back. While waiting for the replacement, my sides sat at the bar and became cold, forcing me to ask for them to be reheated as well. What made the experience worse was the lack of any genuine apology or concern from management regarding the issues with my meal. To add to the frustration, an obviously intoxicated woman sitting nearby reached onto my plate and took one of my asparagus spears. Not only was this inappropriate, but it also created an uncomfortable and unsanitary dining experience that should have been addressed by staff. For a bill totaling approximately $225, I expected much better. The only highlights of the evening were the margaritas and the exceptional service provided by the bartender, who was professional and attentive throughout my visit. Unfortunately, the food quality, management response, and overall experience did not justify the cost. I expect much more from a restaurant with STK's reputation. I will not be returning. read more

so we ended up at this restaurant bc we met Danielle who is an employee and he highly recommended this restaurant. he told us to be sure and have Patrice make our drinks and eat supper there. he did not steer us wrong! We had high hopes for celebrating a friend's birthday at STK Steakhouse DC, but unfortunately, the experience was more disappointing than memorable. It took 30 minutes before anyone came to take our order. While someone initially offered us water, they never returned with it, which added to the growing frustration. What made things worse was watching a couple who arrived after us get served before we were even acknowledged. For a place that markets itself as upscale, the service felt disorganized and inattentive. As for the food, it didn't live up to the positive reviews. For the price, we expected more in both flavor and portion size. There were some positives. The DJ was fantastic, and the ambiance and vibes were solid, which helped salvage the evening just a little. My waiter Izzy and Corina made my date nite even more of an exquisite dining experience than expected. From the minute we walked in Izzy and Corina took care of me and my date! My date and I came during Happy Hour and I did not like my table seating. I immediately asked if we could be seated else where (thinking I would probably not have my waiter eager to address my request), Izzy and COrin's coordinated and were able to seat me and my date at the perfect spot within Minutes. Food 5/5 Honestly this was the single best steak I've ever had, was that because I shilled out for the Australian Wagyu... Maybe. But at the end of the day, I can't find any faults in any of the food I got during my stay here. Service 5/5 Don't listen to the morons who have service a low score, the staff were very attentive and considerate of us, I suppose if you're turned off by human interaction... Go get some friends. Our server was amazing and her name was Riche Ambiance 5/5 Surprisingly good hearted and casual given the price tag. A simple button down shirt and some darker clothing is all you need. The color scheme and lighting was great with a mix of white, black, violet and pink colors (although said pink may be for the upcoming cherry blossom festival). Food isn't close to worth the freaking price no matter what city you're in. I really can't understand why you would charge $41 for a 6-8 ounce canned and underseasoned crab cake. I understand even less why they used .5 ounces of saffron with mustard cream that tastes nothing of mustard other than to jack the price up because honestly other than looking pretty, you added $15 to my plate for no reason. Adding $7 to a steak to dry rub or add pepper??? Who in hittlers blessed ballsack do they think they are? For the quality of the food, I'd rather hit a freaking cracker barrel. At least they don't charge for pepper. If your paying $200+ for dinner it would be nice to see and hear the person across the table from you. Not here! I was invited to STK to dine on opening night and I have to say it was a great experience, I've only been to a few steakhouses in DC and I have got to say the ambiance here is unmatched, great vibes, lighting, and decor (Which my gf loved). We ended up getting the chefs tasting menu which came with too many things to list. We enjoyed everything! Especially the proteins which had some unique flavors to them, and out of all the dipping sauces I enjoyed STK's signature sauces best and the horseradish (lmao). When it came to service we came in just before dinner time so we were extremely well taken care of, since we had so many dishes they had to come take our empty plates often and did it very timely. I recommend the steak frites. 10/10 will revisit soon. read more

I requested bread three times, and each time the server responded with a snarky tone, stating that bread would not be served until after our order was placed. His tone was dismissive and unnecessarily rude. We placed our full order with him, but he offered no suggestions, guidance, or enthusiasm--something that is central to the Carmine's dining experience. My wife and son were first‑time guests, and this was a missed opportunity to showcase your restaurant's concept. After placing our order, we waited nearly ten minutes before he entered it into the system, and during this time we still had no bread for our daughter. When bread finally arrived, our drinks did not. When I politely asked about them, he responded, "Yes you did, and they are not ready," again in a rude and deliberate tone. I want to emphasize that both my wife and I work in the hospitality industry--I am an Executive Chef for a major hotel, and she is a server. We understand the demands of this profession, and we also understand what good service looks like. While the manager did her best to salvage the evening, the overall experience was deeply affected.
