Visited STK this past Tuesday for their steak night america dinner which is $69 each for 2 people for a bottle of wine/champagne, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 sides and 1 dessert. Sooo worth it! Because you save so much money! This deal is only available Monday-Thursday and I believe it's for a limited time. The restaurant is located at the Marriott Marquis. This was my first time at STK and we started with a bottle of champagne, specifically Prosecco which was pretty good! The waiter also brought out house bread, the garlic was very overwhelming on the bread, but it was free so no complaints. For our appetizers we got the Caesar salad and the sliders (well done). The Caesar salad was okay, I've definitely had better, the lettuce and croutons were pretty soggy and the dressing tasted store bought. The sliders were delicious, wagyu meat, delicious sauce, all in all delicious! For our entree we got the NY 14 oz strip medium, it was delicious, seasoned and not dry at all! My other friend ordered the same thing in medium as well, but hers was very dry, she ended sending it back and they immediately fixed it without any problems. Another friend ordered the mushroom & truffle tagliatelle and the noodles did taste overcooked, however the flavor was perfect! Our sides were Mac & cheese and asparagus. The Mac was delicious, asparagus wasn't seasoned but cooked well! The Apple pie was to die for the crumbles were perfect and added a nice crunch. Customer service was great! The ambiance is beautiful, very nice and classy restaurant. I would definitely return. Because we were there for business I ate it as to not cause a scene. We ordered a side of creamed spinach and asparagus. The spinach looked like someone just threw it in the dish. We were escorted to our tables, which they took the time to look at our profile and seated us by the window and asked about allergies. We started with old fashioned and Hennessy punch, which both were strong with a good pour. They were out of the oysters, so were ordered our entrees. We both got the lamb chops and they were delicious, plentiful, seasoned well, cooked to perfection, and fresh. Our sides were mashed potatoes and corn pudding and it was soooo good. That corn pudding was everything and hard to get anywhere else and had the right amount of sweetness. We ordered the chocolate cake to go and it was flavorful but very small for the price. Me & my husband came to try their happy hour which was basically their dishes tapa style and prices & I wanted to try everything that sparked my interest. First ordered was the quesadilla which was delicious! I know when I come back to get two orders of that. My husband ordered the wagyu burger with fries and wagyu meatballs. The wagyu burger looked really good but I did not try it since he got medium rare, the truffle fries were really crispy and pretty good. The meatballs didn't really have anything special to them so I would not get that. I ended up wanting to try the steak frites which I really enjoyed the steak which was the ribeye cut melted in my mouth and had a really good aoli sauce drizzled on top. The food took no time to come out which was great since I came hungry and our waiter was very attentive. For my drink I got a mocktail watermelon mojito which was really refreshing. STK wants to be both a club and a steakhouse and unfortunately ends up doing both poorly. Walk a couple of blocks and go to Rare Steakhouse, which is better in almost every way. We started off with the bread service. When it comes out you get your hopes up for warm, soft delicious bread. But what you get is a warm pan and room temp bread. The first bread we got was rock hard and dry. They were happy to replace it. And on the third attempt we finally got soft bread that was still room temp. I don't think their bread service is designed to come out hot. Rare has consistently amazing bread service that melts in your mouth. We each ordered the 10oz filet, medium. Steakhouses have 1 job in my opinion. Cook my steak to the right temp the first time, every time. Our steaks were medium well trending on well done. Now I know they would have immediately got us new ones but we honestly didn't want to wait for steaks to be recooked. And again, at a steakhouse where you pay $70 a steak I shouldn't have to. The flavor of the steaks was amazing. They had a good sear on them, one of the best we have had and were perfectly seasoned. If it weren't for being overcooked it's a 5/5 steak. Now Rare does a better steak, always perfectly cooked and is significantly less expensive. The sauces we got were the chimichurri and the STK bold. They were both excellent but that STK Bold was amazing. Highly recommend. For sides we got the market vegetables and the Brussel sprouts. Now folks these sides are $19 a piece. They are not shareable. The portion size is really small and basically for 1 person. Their sides are very inconsistent. We saw the mashed potatoes, which looked amazing, and they were big enough for probably 4 people. But for our sides we were ripped off. The flavor of both was great. But the value isn't there. Rare again does better sides at a cheaper cost. The service was solid. Our waiter very friendly and attentive. Let's discuss the atmosphere. Don't come here on a first date. This is where you come when you've been married 20 years and don't want to talk to each other. It's so loud in here you can't hear anyone you are with or the waiter. And it's not just the music that's playing. The space with all the diners is just really loud. And that's fine if you want to be a club. But don't charge me $70 a steak and $20 for a small side. Give me solid club food at club prices. I feel like STK has an identity crisis and it doesn't do anything really well. If I was just reviewing the steak, 5/5 all day. So there is potential here. But there are so many other places than nail all the other components of a good steak dinner that STK is off the list for us in the future read more

Though it should be more aptly named - Skip This Kitchen! or Service Tragically Klunky! **We were all set and excited for a double date at the new STK, which boasts its reintroduction as a 'Not Your Daddy's Steakhouse'. Not only was this supposed to be a new, improved & more fun take on a traditional steakhouse restaurant but the website boasts a Sunday thru Thursday fixed-price, 'Steak Night', set-menu special which we were 100% here for. Of course we were hooked and excited by the Tik-toks and IG reviews even going as far as calling ahead the day of to confirm the 'Steak Night' special was still an available option for our table size. Spoiler Alert: It wasn't. ^^First off, the signs were there early that this definitely wasn't my Daddy's or Momma's steak house as our hostess seemed annoyed with us to do.....hosting?....removing extra place settings and handing the paper menus out to us seemed to upset her. Then our waiter, who admittedly was new (his words), engaged us to take our drink and food orders without actually mentioning anything of the starters or the food items on the menu. We weren't discouraged though as we'd already decided to elect the Steak Night option for the whole table. Surprise, surprise, though, the waiter told us that per the training (his words), you can only order that when sitting in pairs at smaller tables and he'd have to check??? Hmmm, okay. Of course he came back and said it's not available, and could only be served to pairs of two at single tables, despite the full table wanting this. Additionally, he said they couldn't even offer it, because they didn't have the Prosecco that comes with that option. #Bait and switch much? So after getting told the special that's prominently on their website isn't available we resigned and picked our entire dinner selection as the waiter highly suggested we tell him all of our selections up front. Clearly, he wasn't here for any additional engagement with the table. As for the actual food, 'meh'. We had to inquire multiple times for bread. Our starters came out cold and when the steaks finally arrived we had to coordinate removing of plates ourself so entrees could even be delivered. Seems like training here doesn't include removing dinnerware and keeping tables clear for more ordered items. **Finally, to add insult to injury and to confirm this place isn't for Daddy's, Momma's or Cousins. When the steaks arrived there was an awkward butter-melting ceremony involving a moving live torch being brought awfully close behind multiple heads of hair and dropped butter... only for steak to finally be eaten luke-warm and with sauces to be forgotten. Long story short our experience of STK in the Marriott Marquis could be called Sad, Tasteless, Kind of a letdown! read more

Caveat: this was a Thanksgiving Day meal, and I hear there was a corporate chef for the day. Okay, now to it: Ambiance: The "chic lounge" they promise is evident. For me, the canned music selection was ok, but played far too loud. Service: excellent, attentive without being overly intrusive. Food: we shared a king crab appetizer. Tasty, but 2 1/2 medium size legs for $75? I like the way they divide the steaks into 3 different size categories. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, which is not common these days. My partner wants medium, while I like medium rare, and most steakhouses don't make any distinction. Kudos, STK! We had two sides, sweet corn pudding, which was great...and then there was the potato puree. Now I know this is different from mashed potatoes, but I expect something with more taste than a raw potato. I could see browning from parmesan on top, but my tongue detected no cheese and no seasoning whatsoever. STK recovered with excellent deserts of cheesecake with berries and apple pie with ice cream. Overall, a good meal, pricey ($350 for 2 before tip) like all steakhouses unless you're going to Outback it. In my opinion, better suited to a group than a romantic couple. read more

I really hate to say this, but this place is essentially fake fine dining. We went here for my sister's birthday, and while the food was good and the ambiance was fun, the service was a major letdown. First, we ordered drinks, which took a while to arrive--not a huge issue in itself. But when my friend asked for a straw, and then again for a straw and some pepper when our appetizer arrived, it took another 10 minutes, and we still didn't receive them. It might seem minor, but being ignored after asking repeatedly and not being checked on for 15-20 minutes is unacceptable. We got there at 10 and didn't leave until 12:30. The food eventually came out and was delicious, but by that time, the straw still hadn't arrived, and my friend had already finished her salad. We did receive complimentary birthday shots, which was a nice touch, but when dessert was served, they cleared only half of the plates. I ended up handing the dirty ones to the waiter while they were singing "Happy Birthday," which was awkward and unpleasant. To top it off, when we received the bill, they had charged us for the "on-the-house" birthday dessert. Although the waiter corrected it after we pointed it out, we noticed they also charged us for a full mojito when it was a virgin one. When it was time to pay, they wouldn't split the bill properly and could only divide it three ways. It wasn't the end of the world, but it was definitely annoying. For a restaurant with such high prices, I expected a level of service that matched. Instead, we barely saw our waiter, had to repeatedly ask for things, and felt like they were trying to pad the bill for a better tip. We received our receipt and noticed that the amount on the receipt was higher than the bill we received. The manager told us that somehow numerous desserts were mistakenly added to our bill. This was after they had given us our bill. Suspicious. The manager offered us dessert to make a whole. We declined because we were going somewhere else. We requested a refund. The general manager Bryan Sundriyal took my credit card information to provide the refund. As of today, I still have not received my refund. I have tried to contact them and I have not received any response. I would suggest you check your receipt when going here to ensure that they are not over charging you like they did me. read more
