Such a great spot! An interior that is clearly influenced by the masculine outdoorsy qualities of Teddy Roosevelt with lots of exposed wood and leather coupled with some real attention to care when it comes to food, drinks, and service. Though their normal dinner menu is on the pricier side, they offer a great happy hour menu Mon-Sat with select draft beers ($6) and cocktails ($10), including some really interesting barrel aged cocktails. Everything I've tried, from food to drink, has been great! The cocktails are beautifully balanced and complex, and the food offers an elevated twist on classic comfort foods. Overall, Teddy's is a great option for a casual happy hour or an intimate date!

My friends and I went to Teddy and the Bully Bar for bottomless brunch and it did not disappoint. The dining room is full of natural light because of the large windows, and surprisingly quiet given it's on a busy street. Our waitress (I believe her name was Miriam) was amazing and made our brunch such an experience. She made sure our drinks were always full and was bringing us different flavors to try. The food was so good too. Between us all we had dozen oysters, the mac and cheese, lobster roll, kimchi chicken sandwich, Teddy breakfast, and steak and eggs and we did not have a bad thing to say about any of them. One friend even got an item to take home for dinner because it was that enjoyable. Definitely check it out if you're in the area and looking for a great brunch.

I came here with family for the Christmas buffet dinner and we really enjoyed! If you're a presidential buff you'll appreciate the decor - the wall of mini Mount Rushmores is pretty cool! They had an unlimited carving station and buffet of sides as well as rolls and an appetizer to start. We had the oysters and the mushroom beignets which were great! The meat station was a little underwhelming but I'm a sides person at heart. The standouts were definitely the scalloped potatoes, mac n cheese, and risotto! The waitstaff was also attentive and helpful.

Snow-ensconced and frigid Washington kept the crowds away. Too bad for them. Great for us. Very cool dining area and bar. Lots to see. Did you know that Teddy Roosevelt's favorite drink was an Old Fashioned? Try Barrel 1... you'll understand if you like Old Fashioneds once you try it. I ordered the Lobster Bisque Absolutely superb! Also ordered the meat and Cheese Charcuterie board. Something for everyone. Excellent service. Prices? It's DC. Yanno?

Teddy and The Bully Bar is a favorite when I'm in DC as the restaurant has a great ambiance. The service is also great and the restaurant has a very comfortable vibe, with the tables well spaced and comfortable seating. Great place to meet friends or have an after work get together. A menu staple is the corn bread appetizer, served in a mini cast iron skillet. They also have excellent cocktails that are not overly expensive.

I had a fairly enjoyable experience attending brunch at this location. It's a spacious restaurant with upscale decor, perfect for large group gatherings. I tried them out on a Sunday, it was pretty busy so I definitely suggest reservations and it's graduate season so I'm sure that added to the crowd volume. The overall atmosphere was fun though they even had a DJ onsite providing some great music. My friends had a table and we were seated quickly. Their brunch menu probably has one of the better deals in town $60 for bottomless food and drinks (rare to get both) or just the bottomless food option for $49 which is great if you're looking for the brunch vibes without being forced to have drinks. The brunch menu features items like avocado toast, peach kale salad, steakhouse sliders, fried chicken and waffles in addition to an omelet and waffle station. I tried out the teddy Mac and cheese, peach cobbler french toast, crispy fish tacos, and the Philly cheesesteak flatbread. As for the food itself: -the Philly cheesesteak flatbread: was probably my least favorite item, the short rib wasn't very flavorful. -Mac and cheese: excellent, great flavor and the combination of cheeses gave it a great southern style consistency. -Peach cobbler French toast: delicious, not an overly sweet combination as I had anticipated. -Crispy Fish Tacos: solid dish overall and I really liked the aioli sauce they used for it. All in all an enjoyable brunch experience and definitely recommend giving them try.

We had a reservation at Teddy & The Bully Bar at 7:30, but it was not busy. Our server, Randall was friendly and helped us immediately. The ambiance is interesting to say the least. Mounted Moose, and other animals framed with LED lights. The music was a mix of house and EDM which is interesting in itself for a restaurant. The food and drinks were expensive but that is expected for anything upscale in the city. The mushroom appetizer was delicious, oysters were fresh, and the branzino fish recommendation was tasty. The seafood risotto was delicious with the shrimp cooked perfectly. I would not recommend the Mac and cheese for a younger person as it has a Smokey flavor and not your typical Mac and cheese. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

The food was decent but took a long time to come out. In my opinion, the service was really slow too. It was often difficult to flag someone down for assistance or even for the check. As for the restaurant's decor, this was really cute. Bathrooms are slightly outdated though. Would be willing to come back another time but it wasn't my favorite spot.

Came for the happy hour, and the service and ambience were both great. The beer deals are also really good. The happy hour shrimp taco was fantastic although it was advertised as two tacos. The lone shrimp taco was really tasty for what it's worth!

Teddy and The Bully Bar is a great happy hour spot. The drinks are awesome...barrel aged cocktails are a must. Their variety of beverage options at reasonable happy hour prices was definitely a draw for me. The oysters are a great price as well for half or a full dozen. The rest of the happy hour menu is also good...on par with higher end pubs in the area. My husband and I tried the burger, mac & cheese and chicken bites. The mambo sauce on the chicken bites is so DC and delicious. I also highly recommend the oysters and the number 1 and number 5, or whatever is the last number on the barrel aged cocktail list. The atmosphere is a cool pub dedicated to the former President Teddy Roosevelt, but just be aware it can be loud in the bar area. Thanks for a fun evening, we will be back. :-)

I came here for lunch with three colleagues, and opted for the roasted salmon with caramelized shallots and potatoes. And... I was unimpressed. The salmon was dry, the potatoes were luke warm. For the $31 plate price, I was expecting more. That said the interior decoration of teddy & the bully bar is quite unique - and very intriguing. The indoor space in the front on the left is bright and spacious, while the high tables and bar area are quite dim. The waiter was very accomodating and quick to serve us, but the food just wasn't quite it for me.

They had an expansive selection of restaurant week items on the menu. Nice ambiance Different rooms and a patio to choose from. The food came out fast and the servers were very attentive. I would definitely come back

Our waitress Brandy was so amazing ! She definitely made the experience and was the cherry on top for our date night ! :) The food was delish, and a full course meal from the valentines menu was only $40-60 per person ! Brandy was very attentive during our entire time there and was just overall such a joy to have. 10/10 Experience, would come again !

I think they take reservations but we were able to grab a bar spot. Are drinks pricey? What do you think? It's a cocktail bar in DC. The drinks we tried were pretty tasty, even the mezcal one which I thought was a refreshing take. The wall shows some of the drinks on the menu and the ingredients/glass it comes in which I thought was a nice touch. Bartenders were friendly but not too chatty as they were super busy but you never waited long for a drink. The bourbon drink with the whipped honey was our favorite but the gin drink that was pink was also fantastic. For food I did try the buffalo chicken dip, pretty large and tasty (not too spicy) and loved the super crisp celery and the fritos. Clean, trendy bathrooms, nice vibes throughout the whole spot for pictures, great for a night cap or pre-dinner drink.

They don't take revelations and the place fills up fast. It's a very cute spot and feels so comfortable and fun. Our bartender was Gaylan and he was great--had great reccs, laughed with us a bit, all around great guy. The 'let me just say this' was so soo good! It tasted like a rainbow--just bright and with a really delicious after taste. I should have stopped at the rose but after my trying my friend's, i had to have one! We initially came for happy hour, but moved to the cocktail menu. The hh was a bit limited, but the drinks were priced overall pretty reasonably for the area. My one complaint is the wine glasses were so teeny. Overall though, I would recommend this bar. Bonus: cheese balls when you sit down! I believe there is also a limited food menu (think nachos) for the after work or late night crowd.

It's a sexy basement vinyl den with additional outdoor seating, 10/10 unique cocktails, and incredible Japanese inspired small plates. Between two visits, we have tried 6 different drinks. They are named after songs and listed on the back of a fake vinyl cover. Each costs around $20, but with the mandatory tip and tax, it comes to around $26-28 per drink. The since I left you, though, is worth every penny. It is similar to an old fashioned but a little sweeter, with bourbon (makers mark), and while the menu says it also has miso, blackberry, cardamom, and cacao, I wouldn't say those flavors come through. But it is one of the best cocktails being served in DC right now. It is so good. They serve it with a cardamom tuile that is delicious as well. There is a lot of variety on here, but my number 2 is the Roses, a bright red gin based drink with a hint of fruitiness and a spicy kick in the back end. If you want something a little sweeter, the Takeover is a cognac based drink with coffee notes served with a mini donut. The food is exceptionally well seasoned and so flavorful. The fried chicken cannot be missed, and I love that you can get it in half or full size portions. The shrimp tempura might be even better. You get four large pieces that are super crisp and have a little orange sauce on them. Amazing. Our second visit we tried their chips and dip, and these potato chips alone are worth a visit. Large, crunchy, and served with a tasty ranch dip. I think 2 dishes is good for two people to fill you up, but add a third if hungry. The place is quite expensive, but they are worth it. For a date night, they are a great choice. Four drinks and three dishes shared between two people came to around $195, but as of this review, they are offering a $30 off deal if you pay through the app In Kind. Bonus points because the first time we came, they seated us maybe 5 minutes after our reservation time, and they gave us a free glass of cava. Top notch customer service right there

This bar is sweet -- awesome music, a neat menu, truly craft cocktails, and a unique menu. We tried several cocktails and each was delicious - from spicy to sweet, they don't miss. We also tried the cheese burger egg rolls and the tuna hand roll. The food is expensive for what you get but it's advertised to be small bites, not a meal. The egg rolls felt like remixed in n out, and as a Californian, I was grateful. Why not 5 stars? With the premium pricetag, I do expect premium service. The bartender was more interested in chatting with some folks he knew who came to sit at the bar. He also spent a lot of time chatting up the couple next to us, so do sit at the bar if you're feeling social. However, for the spare attention he did provide us, he was a bit condescending when we asked for a different glass for a drink that came in a bowl. It was slow until the very end of our stay and yet there were several times where I had an empty glass for a long period (and wanted to order more) or needed water. FYI for 6 drinks and a few bar bites it was $165... we went for a cheap burger dinner afterwards!
