I will start out by saying that our waitress, Ms. P was EXCELLENT!!! When I come here, I want her every time! She was attentive, had excellent recommendations, and her vibe was great! The main entrance and the hostess stand is at the entrance that is inside the Marriott Marqui hotel, not the entrance connected to the outdoor patio seating (we made this mistake and so did several other patrons). The restaurant is well-decorated, spacious, and has lots of natural light. On our walk to the hostess stand, I noticed they had a cute private dining area (the hostess said it is available to book on their website). I came for restaurant week so I tried some items on that lunch menu ($35) and my guest tried items from their pre-fixe Lunch menu ($45). My favorite appetizer was the tuna tartare tacos and I would get that again! I didn't love the burrata (which comes with (pickled?) beets). The steaks were cooked to our preferred temperature and they have several add-ons (sauces, butters, seasonings) that you can choose for an additional charge. I also had the apple pie, which was okay. The bathroom is in the lobby of the hotel, which was odd. But, everything else was good. I'll be back!

Last year, when we went to Benihana for my husband's birthday, he brought a copy of the email that gives a birthday discount. While we were there, the server gave us a flyer about the "Friends with Benefits" app. When we got home, he put the app on his phone. So...what does all this have to do with STK? They are owned by the same company as Benihana. Recently, I got an email saying I would get a discount on my birthday dinner. Sounds good, right? However, the app is in my husband's name. So...no discount for him or me. Most likely, when his birthday rolls around, I suspect he would get a discount. Despite all that, we decided that we wanted to give STK a try. We were there on a Saturday for an early dinner. The staff at the host stand asked if we wanted to sit in the happy hour area (aka "the bar") or the main dining room. We chose the latter and were put in the main dining area. We also noticed as customers trickled in, they, too, got seated in the same area. As for ambiance -- I guess it's a modern steakhouse. For example, a neon sign on the wall says "Dare to Be." The place gets loud, which can make conversation difficult As for our meal, our server got to our table in a timely fashion. She asked if we wanted something to drink. I got a mojito while my husband got a Heineken 0.0. It took quite a while for our drinks to arrive, which was somewhat annoying. As for the mojito, it was bitter. I think the bartender put too many limes in it. I have had much better ones. We decided to start with "Tuna Tartare," which consists of: "Hass avocados, taro chips, soy honey emulsion." This, surprisingly, had some kick to it. They gave only two taro chips, which was stingy. We did like the tuna and avocado. We ended up using our forks to eat most of it as the two chips weren't enough For my main course, my husband convinced me to splurge. I got the surf and turf, which consists of a 6 oz. filet and a lobster tail. It came with a generous amount of butter and a steak sauce similar to BBQ sauce. I didn't eat much of it. The filet was perfectly cooked medium rare. The lobster tail was one of the best I've had. It was tender and moist. For a side dish, we shared Yukon Gold mashed potatoes with a Parmesan crust. My husband ordered the "Ribeye Spinalis." The steak was cooked medium rare. After looking up what that cut was (a combination of the top part of a ribeye and part of a filet mignon), it turned out to be rather disappointing: it wasn't juicy or very flavorful, and I've had more tender filets. It was served with the same barbecue-like sauce, but it didn't add much to the steak. We decided to share a dessert and got the "Bag o' donuts" - 4 donut holes plus three different dipping sauces. We found the donuts hard to eat because the fork wouldn't penetrate them well. I finally got one, dipped it in caramel sauce, and it fell on the table. The restaurant does not have restrooms; they are outside the restaurant and a bit of a hike down the main corridor of the hotel. Look up for the signs.

Warm Garlic and Chive bread. It was delicious.

Hey. This place was inside of the Marriott Marquis. I made reservations for two because I didn't know if they would be packed right after work. Every STK I've been to for happy hour in other cities has been packed. I made the reservation for 5:45 because I wanted to have enough time to order twice if I wanted to. #greedy. We were seated right away and given happy hour menus. I love that they automatically give you the Happy Hour menu and not force you to ask for it. I feel like some restaurants don't want you to know it's HH. Not STK!! Okay! I will start with the good. The prices for everything except the Waguy Taco are amazing. I mean, $3 for the Crab balls that had a TON of crab is mind blowing. The tater tots are so good and crisp on the outside, fluffy in the middle. The Lil burger is good and they gave me more than 1 pickle on it, which is a plus! The warm garlic bread was also delicious. Now to the: could be improved. I ordered an unsweetened tea. They had no Sweet N low, which i asked for before I ordered the tea! Good thing I carry them in my purse but, coming. I don't want to use my stash. The guy bringing the food was trying to combine my stuff on the table and used his gloved hand to move my fries over. Now, I know the hand is gloved but he's touching the food tray, and all kinds of other stuff with the gloves on. Needless to say, I threw those fries away. Then, my first order of steak frites were medium well, which is cool except they for sure were prepared in advance and just sitting in the back. I didn't eat those. I ordered some fresh ones with none of the sauce and will done. Those were much better and juicer than the others. Lastly, that dog gone Wagyu Taco is embarrassing. One, one-bite Taco for $9. I do believe these used to come as a set of three before. I would have never ordered this if I knew it was ONE with one bite of meat on it. I mean, just make a regular steak taco and give the folks 3 or 4 of those for $10. Other than that, this was a good experience. 4 stars are because of the prices. I'd definitely return to happy hour at STK.

I love a good steak, and STK did not disappoint! If you visit Sunday through Thursday, you can take advantage of their three-course meal for just $49 per person, which is an incredible deal. We started with the Wagyu sliders and shrimp cocktail, and both appetizers were absolutely delicious. For our entrées, we each ordered the New York strip steak. I added the truffle butter to mine, and let me tell you--it was so damn good! We both chose the mac and cheese as our side, and it was creamy, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the steak. To end the meal we had donuts with dipping sauces that sent me to heaven lol. The portions were generous, and I left full with leftovers to take home. The ambiance is upscale, sexy, and inviting, with great music playing throughout the restaurant. The service was excellent, and both the dining area and bathrooms were spotless. STK is located inside the hotel, so parking isn't the best, but once you're inside, it's absolutely worth it.

Came here for restaurant week and was completely bamboozled by the pricing. The dinner was supposed to be $65 but after all the ridiculous add ons, my check was $150!! The food itself was really good but they lost a star solely for the false advertising. Additionally, the server was so incredibly annoying and pushed the lobster butter on me without telling me that the butter was an additional $12. The whole trip there i was annoyed but again, the food was good. Vibes were fine but they did have a dj coming on a Tuesday night at 8pm, which was weird to me. So just know youre gonna be spending more than expected if you go.

Convenient location with the Marriott hotel. This aided with ability to get a relatively quick lunch I the hotel where I stayed and that was adjacent to the Washington Convention Center. I opted for a later lunch to stagger the schedules of our team during the conference attended. The later lunch allowed for opportunity to dine from the happy hour menu which was honored from 2:30 to 6:30; an adequate time frame for late lunch or early dinner. Had previously dined at the STK in Atlanta, and found this location to have a larger footprint. It had a larger bar with many seats, and tables near the entrance and rear. Most convention participants opted for seating at the bar for quicker service. The bar staff was attentive and received service after a brief wait. Took advantage of the large happy hour offerings and ordered the burger with truffle fries, crispy calamari and tuna tartare tacos, Combined three happy hour dishes resulted in a full meal. Two would have sufficed. I listed meal selections in order of my preferences - the burger was well made and flavorful. The calamari was good and a nice portion. I was not as impressed with the tacos or truffle fries. The tuna in the tacos was tasty, but the guacamole topping did not taste authentic. I am a connoisseur of fries and love truffle oil. These were a bit off. It may have been the preparation or need for more truffle oil. Also love guacamole, preferably hand made and fresh. The guacamole on top of the tacos resembled a spread from a packet and gave the same texture and taste. A bit off putting due to having a decent tuna base. For the discounted price, I was able to sample different items and remain within my company's lunch budget amount. Still believe that convenience of location makes STK a solid choice when not able or desirable to venture outside of the hotel.

Food was good. Service was mediocre. Filet was tender. Love how they torch butter to drip on top of the steak. If you're looking for a romantic place it looks like it would be that way until you get inside and they're blasting dance club music. I would probably not come back.

STK DC came through for Friday happy hour! A good friend and I stopped by after work, and it definitely did not disappoint. While I'm personally not a huge fan of STK for dinner, their happy hour and brunch menus are where they really shine. We grabbed seats at the bar, and the bartender was fantastic from start to finish. She was attentive, friendly, and took the time to ask what flavors and dishes we typically enjoy before making recommendations. Service like that always makes a difference. We started with the Castaway (a refreshing tequila cocktail) and an Old Fashioned before diving into the food. For bites, we ordered the short rib quesadilla , truffle fries , wagyu taco, tuna tartare taco , and wagyu meatballs. Everything was delicious, especially the truffle fries, which never disappoint. The short rib quesadilla was packed with flavor, and both tacos were excellent. My only critique would be the wagyu meatballs, which were good but could have used a little more seasoning. Also, $9 for a single taco feels a bit steep, even by DC standards. One of the unexpected highlights of the evening was the atmosphere. We ended up chatting with current and former employees who were hanging out at the bar. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, joking with us throughout the evening and even buying us a round of shots . Between the friendly crowd and the stellar bartending team, the experience felt much more personal than your typical chain steakhouse visit. The restaurant itself is much larger than I expected, with a spacious layout and a great-sized patio perfect for warmer weather. It's located inside a hotel where I've attended events before, but this was my first time visiting this STK location. If you're looking for a lively happy hour spot with solid cocktails, shareable bites, and great service, STK DC is worth a visit. Just be prepared for a few menu items that might make your wallet do a double take.

I was really disappointed with my experience at STK. Given the reputation and pricing, I expected much better. Our party ordered the burrata, fried rice, steak frites, oysters, steak tartare, tacos, tequila cocktails, and an espresso martini. Unfortunately, the only items we actually enjoyed were the tacos, the fried rice, and the drinks. The tequila cocktails and espresso martini were excellent and were easily the highlight of the evening. The food, however, was a major letdown. The burrata seemed old, was firm instead of creamy, and was served without any bread or crackers, which made the dish feel incomplete. The steak frites arrived cold and lacked flavor. The oysters were not enjoyable, and we waited an unusually long time for cocktail sauce, only to initially receive two containers of vinegar. The steak tartare was also disappointing and not something we could finish. While the bartenders did a good job keeping drinks flowing and were pleasant throughout the evening, the food service was extremely slow. We wanted to speak with a manager about our experience, but never had the opportunity. Even getting the check and paying the bill took far longer than it should have. For a restaurant at this price point, the quality of the food and overall dining experience simply did not meet expectations. We left feeling disappointed and with no desire to return

We waited over 2 hours just to get our food and honestly for the price it wasn't worth it. The food isn't life changing and I personally believe you can find better at a more affordable price. You're mostly paying for the ambiance and the name brand in my opinion. I would say that our server was very nice and the music the DJ played was good. Even after the extremely long wait the manager didn't even want to give us a discount on our bill and we had to ask to be compensated and after spending $200+ the 10% compensation wasn't even worth it because everything is so expensive. People who sat down 30+ minutes after us got their food, finished, and left before we even got our entrees.

Came to STK to try out their happy hour. It's located inside the hotel. The service was really good and the drink that I had was good as well. Happy hour food is smaller versions of what is on the larger menu and for the most part it was good. Nice atmosphere inside and there is also outdoor seating if you prefer that.

This restaurant is inside the Marriott Marquis right by the Mt Vernon convention center so evening time brings in a lot of post work traffic. I went there for the happy hour since small bites were between $3 and $9. The food was delicious and I loved every thing we ordered. We got the tater tots ($3), short rib quesadilla ($6) which was extremely delicious, popcorn chicken ($9), and several cheeseburgers with fries ($12). The cheeseburgers come with chips but we wanted fries which were a $3 upgrade. I would've gotten chips if our server had informed us of the surcharge for fries since we didn't eat much of it at all (they were delicious though). The cheeseburgers were very good and I'd be down to come back for just the burgers. The cocktails were also $9 and we got the mojito and the strawberry guava gin drink, both were great. The space was packed for happy hour and the vibe was upbeat. I'd come back for the happy hour anytime. Highly recommend!

This has to be the weakest STK in existence How is this a steakhouse if y'all can't properly cook a steak? I came for a bday dinner & ended up not eating because my steak kept coming out not cooked to the temperature I asked them for in the first place. Not to mention I waited a hr to not eat my food. I've had to update this review since I've since been 3 more times and I won't be returning for a while. The bar staff seemed to be perpetually understaffed and overwhelmed. The food came out at various times and temperatures and Frankly, the dominant clientele doesn't exactly scream "elevated steakhouse". You're paying a premium for a mid-tier experience. Better off going down the street to Mastros. read more

Excited to have STK back in DC! If you want to go somewhere for good vibes and upscale food, this is the place. Mauricio was our waiter and he was extremely attentive. We started with the bread and calamari, shared the tomahawk steak for our entree, had the brussles sprouts and truffle fries for our sides, and the cookie with ice cream for dessert. We added the truffle butter to our steak and had the chimichurri sauce and STK steak sauce. It was all decadent and delicious! The only critique we have is the price, as we spent $300 plus tip for a dinner without drinks. Yes we ordered the high end steak but the sides and appetizers were on the pricey side for what you get. The staff came out around 11pm with a fun dance and free shots so the place had the hype and fun atmosphere with a live DJ. I would definitely return with my husband and also with a group of girlfriends who won't mind dressing up and dropping a few coins. Check it out! read more

Went for a nice girls night out celebrating a belated birthday. When we first walked in we were thrown off as we were on time for our reservation and were told to stand off to the side for a while. Even though there were plenty of empty tables!! Once seated though Jack made our night!! He was attentive and made sure to stop by our table many times. The rest of the staff could have been a little more helpful. I saw many staff members standing around just chatting while we had empty glasses and dishes. Luckily Jack kept checking on us and made sure our table was clean and we had everything we needed. Ended our night with a nice round of free champagne it so unexpected!! We wanted to like this place, we really did. We came here for brunch during Restaurant Week on a Saturday around 1p. Entrance was cool enough, with a long hallway opening up into a spacious restaurant and bar space with fancy decor and lighting. Thereafter we waited about 10-15 minutes for a waiter. The manager stopped by and explained that it is a busy day with one waitstaff, and please be patient. OK, we waited some more, without water or anything to keep us waiting. Then the bartender came by five minutes later. She was about the only bright spot of the service department. We ordered the bargain $9.99 burger and $25 chicken and waffles, the latter as part of the Restaurant Week special, came with doughnuts, and about the only thing that looked legitimately lunch without being ripped off (e.g., eggs and choice meat). Wait was about 15-20 minutes. Not bad. Food was excellent. Well charred burger made to medium rare; chicken and waffles tops, with moist chicken, crispy breading, and nice maple syrup/bbq sauce combo. Normally not a chicken and waffles guy myself, but this iteration hits the spot. Fries were done just right-crispy, salty, tasty. All seemed fine until I bit into the first spoonful of coleslaw. It was spoiled! Guess it's been sitting on the kitchen counter too long on a 90 degree humid day? Called the manager over; he apologized and said he will take care of it, took the cole slaw and never to reappear at our table. The bartender was attentive in refilling our water and asking how everything was, but then handed over the check way early before the donuts and asked if the donuts. Wait what? In all, good food, but the inattentive service ruined everything else. Doesn't matter if it is Restaurant Week on a Saturday afternoon. If one is open for business for service, gearing towards what they are fully capable of presenting their full over-priced menu along with the specials, then there should be enough staff on hand, ready to do their very best, no matter the price. With so many other competition out there for steakhouses in DC, this one came up way short. Look elsewhere until the service improves. read more

I wish I could say the quality of the food matched the level of enthusiasm by our server for her menu offerings. Tuna Tartare app was tasty but the Calamari and lil brgrs average. This place ruined my birthday and I left in literal tears. My birthday was Aug 5 and I had been telling my man how I wanted to go to STK specifically for the steak and lobster mac because I had heard wonderful things. I had saw several reviews on IG, LOVED the environment, but was SOLD on the Happy Birthday dessert plate. So celebrating at STK was the bday plan. We had reservations for 8:30 PM and we arrived at 8:20 PM. The host immediately tells us that they are "short staffed" and they will not be able to accommodate us right away but we could wait an additional 20-40 mins. The restaurant is located inside of a hotel so there is no "waiting" area. But the host stated we could sit at the bar and our table should be available shortly. At the bar, we ordered two drinks (THEY WERE AMAZING) and the bartenders were extremely nice. Our drinks arrived and after 40 mins STILL NO TABLE. The bartenders suggested we order our food and whenever the table was available we could move, so we agreed to this plan. However, that's when everything went downhill for me. I have a food allergy to tomatoes and did not realize over HALF of their menu is cooked in them. EVEN THE LOBSTER MAC AND CHEESE!!!! I ended up ordering the truffle fries, Brussels sprouts, and crusted mashed potatoes since the salmon and lobster pasta included tomatoes as well. My man order the porterhouse steak. Our table NEVER became available and we ended up eating at the bar. The steak was very good, cooked perfectly, and included two sauces. The sides were okay but I can definitely make them better at home. Lastly, I thought I would at least get the happy birthday dessert plate with candles that I had saw on IG. But the bartenders kindly told me I needed to be seated at a table for that to happened. By that time I was HIGHLY upset and needed to use the restroom just to find out you have to walk out of the restaurant and to the opposite side of the hotel for a restroom!!! Overall, the experience was an epic failure and a waste of $300. I tried this location a week or so ago for their weekend happy hour. It starts at 3 and w. We got there at around 3:30-4 and the restaurant was packed. We were able to snag seats at the bar and waited at least 15 minutes with no acknowledgment from the bar tenders. One woman behind the bar acted busy and was literally doing nothing. The other guy there was quite attentive to the 2 young ladies seated next to us but still not acknowledgment to me and my friend. A guy then comes and sits by me and is immediately asked what he'd like to drink and places a food order. We then had to yell excuse me and tell the guy behind the bar we are ready to then he says what would we like. We order everything and then have to point out that our area needs to be cleaned from the previous guest who were sitting there. Our drink comes and it's okay not bad but not the best. We order 2 of the Happy hour sliders with truffle fries. One set of the fries comes out hot and truffled the other set is cold and plain. We also order the popcorn chicken that was burnt to a crisp. Mind you a runner from the back bought our food out. At that point we were never checked on again even though we were sitting at the Bar! It's like we were invisible. We had to call out again just to try and pay. Then our initial bar tender comes over and asks how was it. We said it wasn't the best and that we tried to say something but none of you checked on us. To then all he replied is "Oh" and printed the bill. At this point we were over being in this establishment and just laid our cards down to pay and had to wait another 10 minutes for them to be collected. He then picks them up and disappears for another 5-10 minutes. Comes back with nothing removed from the bill so what was the hold up? We just sign and leave. And have been monitoring our cards for fraudulent activity ever since being that it was quite odd for him to take off with our cards when the POS is right behind the bar with them. I've been to STK in NY and Vegas and had a nice time. This location however was not a good experience for me and my friend. Will not be returning. There are far better steakhouses in the area offering better service and quality food anyway. read more

We visited STK for dinner on our second night in town from Florida. I was nervous about going since I was also bringing my pre-teen daughter and 3 month old infant, but the staff and service was very accommodating, plus we came on a Thursday night so it wasn't too busy. I tasted the Cucumber Stiletto and wished I had also got that drink. It was sweet, which one of the people in my party did not care for, but I'm a fan of sweet cocktails. The Braised Beef Short Rib was not as tender as I was hoping it would be, but it was still good. Other dishes our party had was steak (of course), truffle fries, mashed potatoes, and Brussel Sprouts. We did not like the mashed potatoes at all, but everything else was very tasty. I can't forget about the bread that was served. It was melt-in-your-mouth good! Based on other reviews here on Yelp and other social media platforms, I came with low expectations of food and service, but left very satisfied! Everyone from the hostess to the servers were friendly and nice and we even had a manager come by to check on us to make sure we were good and taken care of. Very pricey, as our party of 5 came out to a total of over $700, but that wasn't surprising at all. The reason this review earned three stars was because of venue management. An important aspect of North Hall is that they will not let you do any setup prior to the event unless you pay per hour. As an example: our event started at 5pm and we had to pay 500$ more to start setup at 3pm. The real issue arose when we were informed that we could not leave anything in a closet or kitchen in order to make the "day-of" prep easier. Management allowed absolutely nothing from entering or remaining in the space despite there being no event prior to our reception. On a positive note, the two hour setup window provided a testament to how amazing our vendors were; they created a beautiful space with no help from North Hall. The management induced plenty of undue stress by being unclear of what permits were needed for the event. They went on to remind us with little time to prepare. This issue manifested itself one week prior to our wedding day, where our wedding coordinator, my wife, and myself scrambled to get permits for food, alcohol, etc. Overall, North Hall is truly lovely, but future customers should be aware that this venue is fortified by the bureaucracy of Washington D.C. Much like your local trip to the DMV, illogical policies and the lack of regard for the individual reign supreme. Weddings are stressful and emotional, no one should have to deal with the inefficiencies of government and the shortcomings of bureaucrats on their special day.

My wife and I went to STK in Washington, DC, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We originally went because we saw the steak special advertised on their website, but we ended up taking advantage of the happy hour menu and tried several different items. Everything we ordered was enjoyable, and it turned into a really fun dining experience. The highlight of our visit, however, was our server, Jasmine G. It was only her third day on the job, but you honestly wouldn't have known it. From the moment we arrived, she greeted us quickly, was attentive, and made sure we were taken care of. Our food came out quickly, and she genuinely made us feel like our anniversary was important to her. We had actually gone to another restaurant the day before where we felt completely overlooked and weren't even properly acknowledged. That experience made us appreciate STK even more. The difference was night and day. Jasmine showed us what good customer service looks like by being attentive, welcoming, and simply caring about us as customers. For dessert, we ordered the warm cookie, and Jasmine went the extra mile by having "Happy Anniversary" written on the plate. She also surprised us with two glasses of champagne to celebrate. Me and my friends visited STK on 9/28 for a birthday brunch celebration reserved for 10 people. Upon arriving, they did not allow us to asking that more of are party needed to arrive first although 7/10 of us were there. After waiting for several minutes we were finally told we could be seated. Once seated we were greeted by the bartender of whom I found out was also my server. She was extremely nice but seeing as though she was doing both jobs, there were delays in our service which she is not to blame for. Once we received our food, things were missing, prepared incorrectly, and delayed. A conversation regarding our experience and a percentage was taken off but there was an item that should have been removed completely in which it was still on the bill. The assistant manager unfortunately had an attitude and very rudely described how she is not able to remove things from the bill but will make an exception. Her attitude was horrible and could have ruined our brunch. To Ana (I believe that was her name), our bartender- I'd like to say thank you and great job. I would advise some leadership training and coaching for the assistant manager and training to the cook staff although the chef was extremely nice and apologized for the mix up. 2 stars are for aesthetics and the bartender :) read more

The meal started strong with the **bread and butter**--soft, fluffy, warm, and undeniably delicious. For appetizers, we had the **Lil' Burgers and the Burrito**, both of which were outstanding. The Lil' Burgers, in particular, were my favorite part of the entire meal--perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. For sides, we chose the **Mac & Cheese and Sweet Corn Pudding**, both of which were delightful and complemented the meal well. The **Apple Pie** for dessert was just okay--nothing special, but it got the job done. The biggest letdown was the **Ribeye**--underwhelming and not nearly as impressive as expected. Given STK's reputation as a steakhouse, I anticipated much more. On the other hand, the **Filet** was well-received by others at the table, so perhaps that's the better choice. Overall, I'd rate STK DC a **6/10**. While some dishes were excellent, the steak--the supposed star of the show--fell short. I've been told the **STK in NYC is superior**, so I may give that location a try and see how it compares. read more

I recently dined at STK Washington DC inside the Marriott Marquis and left extremely disappointed, especially considering the price point. I ordered the 10 oz. Ribeye with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and two margaritas. When my steak arrived, it was barely warm and had no sear. After speaking with a manager, I sent it back. While waiting for the replacement, my sides sat at the bar and became cold, forcing me to ask for them to be reheated as well. What made the experience worse was the lack of any genuine apology or concern from management regarding the issues with my meal. To add to the frustration, an obviously intoxicated woman sitting nearby reached onto my plate and took one of my asparagus spears. Not only was this inappropriate, but it also created an uncomfortable and unsanitary dining experience that should have been addressed by staff. For a bill totaling approximately $225, I expected much better. The only highlights of the evening were the margaritas and the exceptional service provided by the bartender, who was professional and attentive throughout my visit. Unfortunately, the food quality, management response, and overall experience did not justify the cost. I expect much more from a restaurant with STK's reputation. I will not be returning. read more

It took 30 minutes before anyone came to take our order. While someone initially offered us water, they never returned with it, which added to the growing frustration. What made things worse was watching a couple who arrived after us get served before we were even acknowledged. For a place that markets itself as upscale, the service felt disorganized and inattentive. As for the food, it didn't live up to the positive reviews. My waiter Izzy and Corina made my date nite even more of an exquisite dining experience than expected. From the minute we walked in Izzy and Corina took care of me and my date! My date and I came during Happy Hour and I did not like my table seating. I immediately asked if we could be seated else where (thinking I would probably not have my waiter eager to address my request), Izzy and COrin's coordinated and were able to seat me and my date at the perfect spot within Minutes. Food 5/5 Honestly this was the single best steak I've ever had, was that because I shilled out for the Australian Wagyu... Maybe. But at the end of the day, I can't find any faults in any of the food I got during my stay here. Service 5/5 Don't listen to the morons who have service a low score, the staff were very attentive and considerate of us, I suppose if you're turned off by human interaction... Go get some friends. Our server was amazing and her name was Riche Ambiance 5/5 Surprisingly good hearted and casual given the price tag. A simple button down shirt and some darker clothing is all you need. The color scheme and lighting was great with a mix of white, black, violet and pink colors (although said pink may be for the upcoming cherry blossom festival). Food isn't close to worth the freaking price no matter what city you're in. I really can't understand why you would charge $41 for a 6-8 ounce canned and underseasoned crab cake. I understand even less why they used .5 ounces of saffron with mustard cream that tastes nothing of mustard other than to jack the price up because honestly other than looking pretty, you added $15 to my plate for no reason. Adding $7 to a steak to dry rub or add pepper??? Who in hittlers blessed ballsack do they think they are? For the quality of the food, I'd rather hit a freaking cracker barrel. At least they don't charge for pepper. If your paying $200+ for dinner it would be nice to see and hear the person across the table from you. Not here! I was invited to STK to dine on opening night and I have to say it was a great experience, I've only been to a few steakhouses in DC and I have got to say the ambiance here is unmatched, great vibes, lighting, and decor (Which my gf loved). We ended up getting the chefs tasting menu which came with too many things to list. We enjoyed everything! Especially the proteins which had some unique flavors to them, and out of all the dipping sauces I enjoyed STK's signature sauces best and the horseradish (lmao). When it came to service we came in just before dinner time so we were extremely well taken care of, since we had so many dishes they had to come take our empty plates often and did it very timely. I recommend the steak frites. 10/10 will revisit soon. read more

When bread finally arrived, our drinks did not. When I politely asked about them, he responded, "Yes you did, and they are not ready," again in a rude and deliberate tone. At this point, I requested to speak with a manager. Ms. Tynynka McIntosh came to the table, listened attentively, and reassigned us to another server named Marcos who was professional, kind, and attentive for the remainder of the meal. We appreciated her intervention. Unfortunately, the original server continued to behave inappropriately--dancing around our table, making snickering comments under his breath, and creating tension during what should have been a joyful celebration. Despite the manager's efforts, the damage was already done. Our daughter's first birthday dinner was overshadowed by poor service and unprofessional behavior. I want to emphasize that both my wife and I work in the hospitality industry--I am an Executive Chef for a major hotel, and she is a server. We understand the demands of this profession, and we also understand what good service looks like. This server's conduct did not reflect Carmine's standards and left us embarrassed for him and disappointed in the experience. While the manager did her best to salvage the evening, the overall experience was deeply affected.
