Then they told me about a 4pack option to drop in 4 times. What they forgot to mention is that you have to spend the $80/month for a minimum of 3 months when you buy a 4 pack. Hmm maybe change it to a 4x3 pack so there is truth in the package sale. My kids got sick, my husband had to go out of town for work and I haven't been able to get time for another kickboxing workout. So there goes my $80 two months in a row. Coach Drea is a good teacher. She did take time to help me one-on-one when I was struggling in my free class. You will get quality kickboxing classes here. But they offer no flexibility when life happens and continue to charge you when you are unable to use their services.

I was excited about getting back in to kick boxing so I decided to give the gym a chance anyway. I was immediately disgusted by the fact that you can't wear shoes during classes. In a post Covid world and as a nurse, I found this unsettling. Again, I ignored my red flags and did my trial class and signed up. I know my health needs some motivation so I took a leap of faith. In my brief membership I was nothing but let down. I depend on afternoon classes but attendance is so low they kept getting canceled. Then, I had a health issue come up that required surgery. I called to put my membership on hold and was told that it was on hold but I still accrued charges! Then I called three times for reimbursement and never got a call back from the manger who is the only one with access to grant refunds. So I called to cancel. I got the same run around in my attempts to cancel! Three phone calls and an email to the manager but no response. I don't even know how to escalate my frustration because I can't get a response. Very disappointed! Now I understand why they never look busy.

When I arrived Leslie created me and was very friendly as she introduced me to the gym. I was excited about an intro class and was pleasantly surprised (and scared) that it was a 1:1 session. After checking me in Leslie had me jump right it, she did a full 30 min circuit with me not only to instruct but motivate. The workout itself was superb, it gave real life practical exercises to protect yourself in an attack while still giving you a great, quick workout. One thing I took away was immediately seeing where I needed to grow stronger, if an attacker was on top of me would I really be able to fight them off right now? I'm excited to take my learnings and return to 30min hit to keep getting stronger. This women-focused, women owned gym is a hidden gem! Everyone needs to try it out!

The music playing in one of the weight rooms wasn't loud or distracting and the gym wasn't crowded. They have sufficient equipment and maintain a classic atmosphere with enough old school style equipment to keep the gym from being crowded with internet weirdos. Since it's a Nautilus gym I immediately looked for a pullover machine and found one but it had a sign on it that said "out of order". The girl at the front desk informed me that machine turnaround typically doesn't take long. I trusted that it was just a damaged elbow pad and not that they were trying to keep people from using this machine- which for some reason I expected would be either nonexistent or out of order(which almost no other gyms in the St Louis area have). I also noticed one other machine which was out of order. They have a few other amenities which may or may not be accessible to members(as they have at least one other business operating within the facility). At first glance this gym seems great and I found the staff to be welcoming and personable. They're open 24 hours and the pricing is similar to club fitness. Five stars only because they're the only gym in the area like them. I would have given four stars for the signature pullover machine being out of order as expected but I prefer that they don't close this place over a bad yelp review- some room for improvement, but otherwise much better atmosphere than all of the other chain gyms in the area.
