So, we have American Home Shield. We purchased our home in Cedar Park, Twin Creeks Neighborhood in 2015, it was included, and that first year they had to replace the included High End refrigerator. It took some back and forth, but got the equal top model, and we've had similar items every other year, so it's been well worth it. AC is probably the one most often. Couple years ago, 2023, another AC brought by AHS, said the system had dog urination and that's why it wasn't running, so AHS denied claim....and the AC guy said "he'd replace it at a discount." Stockdale came and gave a 2nd opinion, nothing to do with dogs (we have 2 small female dogs, so this is crazy), and cleaned it in attic etc and all worked great. We had an issue, loud fan and bam stopped running. We requested Stockdale, they came out fixed it, new condenser fan motor and came back to put on a new 2 piece fan much quieter the old was cracked or something. 2 different techs, BOTH said "nah, these units (20 years old now) they run great, just fix the components, there's no need to replace this system, up or downstairs systems keep them." Only place, out of 3 or 4 the past few years, that DIDN'T say replace, replace, replace. I cannot say enough how much I appreciate it. They have come out, fixed, in a timely manner read more

Bad experience with this company. They failed to fix my A/C issue and managed to create more problems in the process. From poorly installed pvc drainage pipes in indoor unit resulting in irritating noise, to grease stains left on the street area in front of my house (they refused to clean), to overall shotty work in general, they sucked. In retrospect it seems that some of their staff was green and simply didn't know what they were doing. On top of that, they weren't honest about their faulty work when questioned. Had to contact another servicer who had to redo their horrible work including installing necessary parts that they either forgot to or weren't capable of installing. Only thing good about the experience was their customer service, but overall the juice was not worth the squeeze in any possible way. Be aware! read more

Stockdale services was dispatched from my home warranty company, AHS. It was evident that they were not at my home for a diagnostic visit. I had shared with them the discovery from my maintenance company to which I was told it was a scam. They were just trying to "upsell me" and "with his 44 years of experience " I should trust him more than them. As a homeowner, I want to make sure I at least have a second opinion, that's not what I got today. They literally fixed one of the issues raised and in his words , "I only did that so you don't get mad at me", packed up, and left. Still within earshot the technician made a comment while getting in his truck that "she was looking at me like I'm a f*cking idiot". I called him out on it and told him we're done and he could just leave. Wasn't wanted on my property any longer. This could've been a moment to ease my concerns about my air-conditioning unit but instead the technician decided to be arrogant and condescending towards me. I also experienced the "getaway", as one of the other reviewer noted in their experience, where they left the truck running. I called my home warranty company and asked that this provider be removed from any AC related service providers list that could come to my house. Totally unnecessary and unprofessional. AHS should consider that not all companies and service partners are equal and challenge them to be of a better quality and have standards. The only positive was in the scheduling. Do NOT hire them!! I filed a BBB complaint! They robbed us for $2000 and made everything worse!!! They replaced the AC coils and everything is now leaking worse then it did before! Afterwards the issue still continued, they then said there is a leak within the wall somewhere but wasn't able to say exactly where! They almost has us knock the wall down!! Luckily we were smart enough to get a second opinion with a company that actually ran a diagnostics! There's a huge leak now where "stockdale" replaced the coils. The entire pan is full of freon, in addition there is NO leak it the wall!! The second leak is at the outside unit!!! FRAUD!! AND YES WE FILED A BBB Complain!! ​​ read more

Stockdale aka Jim was dispatched via my home warranty company. Jim of course found every reason possible not to fix my a/c. Stating the entire reason my system was not working, was due to mold. Jim then went on to tell me he does not do any work on a system with mold damage interesting enough this type of AC unit is almost guaranteed to have some form of mildew or mold buildup in the drain line and the unit itself after about a year. I was forced to get a second opinion out of my own pocket finding out all the problems with my AC unit had nothing to do with mold. Jim participates in the home warranty scam system where they collect your money, but perform no service my AC unit problems are all component break down. Also when I called Jim, he had nothing really to say except for the statement. I don't work on mold. System has mildew forming in the Plenum box and has no effect on the performance or operations of the equipment. Recommend Plenum box (supply box) which to be replaced. Dampers are currently working, system starts however there is a leak in the evaporator coil causing the home to not cool property. Recommend replacing evaporator coil and charging system up properly. The following diagnosis is from a professional company, not Stockdale not Jim. I would never hire Jim as he does not have your best interest at heart. read more

Then he said he couldn't help me and he LEFT! Worst service I've ever experienced! It was clear the start he didn't want to be there. He even left his truck running in my drive, a quick getaway? The man who came to diagnose my AC, would not communicate with me, would not look me in the eye and didn't even go in the attic to look at the unit. He left his truck running , blocking the driveway and after about 15 minutes said I need a new coil and gave me an estimate of about $4000. I would not hire this company to work on my kids bicycle! American Home Shield send this company and we were very disappointed with the service we received. First things first: now with Covid-19, we did not feel safe as the guy Jake who came out wore a mask part of the time, but not the rest of the time, including inside of our home while he went upstairs to turn on our AC unit, which I could have done myself if asked. I tried to keep 6' distance, but I had to back off him as he kept coming close while we spoke. We had some water coming through the edge of the house, and what it looked like AC drain was there leaking. Jake said we needed to cut and remove the sheetrock from the ceiling in the garage so he would have access to fix the leak. He said they don't remove sheetrock so they will have to come back after we remove it ourselves. When we called the office after Jake left, we were told Home Shield will not covered. We have pictures it was broken by the edge of the roof. We were told by this company we had piled stuff on top of the the pipe and it was the cause of the problem. Only stuff near the pipe on the opposite end was only stuff Jake moved and it was very far away from where the problem was. On the phone the office manager lady was very rude. She said it's not covered and it's not their problem, she did not offer the solution. When we said we are not going to be happy, she said "I guess not". Since they did not want to come back, they told American Home Shield a totally different story which was not truth, so now we have to call another company and pay out of pocket to fix the problem. And what we found out dealing with a very reputable AC company, that drain line that leaked was only a back up drain that Jake did not explain at all, and not the main drain line. I would stay away from this company, as their technician did not wear the mask that is being mandated in our state and county, mislead us by what was happening with our system, lied to American Home Shield about our issue, and did nothing to try to resolve the problem. I would put minus 100 stars if I could. Save yourself trouble and pick a different company for your AC needs. read more

My heart sinks when I see the bad reviews posted for the business selected for repairs by American Home Shield. I only have a few expectations when the repair people come out and the main ones are timeliness and fixed appliance. Jake came out today to diagnose and fix my AC unit. I was notified ahead of time, he was punctual and even moreso, he was professional, friendly and self-sufficient. I showed him where everything was and he went to work. After diagnosing issues, he let me know what repairs were needed and proceeded to get them accomplished. He had his face covering on and maintained his distance when coming in and out of the house so there was no concerns. As a bonus, he had all parts required for repair in his van and was super polite and worked around the dog and the construction zone in the house due to remodel. All repairs completed in about an hour and AC back to good. Would definitely feel confident having Stockdale come out again for AC repairs. read more

Wow Stockdale sure has changed. We have spent over $5000 with them out of pocket to replace our outside AC unit and even more through AHS. We actually requested them to come service our unit through AHS. The tech came out and determine our coils need to be cleaned, something they have done before. Well he then says they no longer want to service our unit and will not be coming out to our house anymore. We were shocked we have done nothing to deserve that treatment. They simply do not want to do the work. Find another company to give your business to that actually wants work. What an unprofessional piece of work. Update : Had a visit by another service today that was willing to help. Not only did they clean our coils but discovered the outside unit did not contain enough refrigerant nor was it charged correctly. Since it's new and he couldn't find a leak it is most likely that Stockdale never installed it correctly to begin with. read more

Do not use this company. American Home Shield should be ashamed of the quality of contractors they outsource their work for. My evaporation coil on my Carrier air handler was replaced by Stockdale and they mismatched parts and installed a Goodman evaporator coil which didn't last 1 summer. They also installed safety switches that did not work properly and the drain pan overflowed into my garage and caused severe property damage. I have had multiple companies evaluate the air handler and confirmed the switches were installed improperly. The technician from Daniels plumbing and AC said verbatim "the contractor that completed this work should lose their license". Thankfully I have the resources to pursue legal action which I will be doing. The owner of the company called me to provide a "courtesy call" which all he was doing was trying to avoid a lawsuit. read more

I had AC problem in my property. AHS send them for compressor replacement. It takes about a week for the company to get part. My AC expert request a line clean due the compress blowout. The company refuse to work on CORRECT installation process. It could cause latency failure to compress down the line. Call the home office, the office lady was not willing to work with you on detail. It gives many excuse. Currently the company is refuse for service. I do not recommend anyone to use this company for AC service. The company does not have good knowledge how to do the job correctly. read more

Wow. I'm so happy to add this company to Yelp and be the first to review them. We purchased a resale home in March that came with a warranty from American Home Shield. During our home inspection it was too cool to properly test the AC. In April/May when it warmed up, we got our first stratospheric electric bill and observed the house wasn't cooling properly. AHS sent us Stockdale Service and it was as if I had discovered AC for the very first time. These guys know what they are doing. They are polite, arrive on time and most importantly, find and fix your AC issues. They will even call ahead and give you time to leave work and meet them at your house. You never appreciate how great an AC company can be, until you need one. These guys coordinated all the parts needed for our repairs, our out-of-pocket costs were next to nothing and we are now again enjoying the summer. They even went to bat for us after AHS sent another vendor over that had no clue. One of the things I liked best, and something we've not experienced with other companies, is that they will take the time to show you what's wrong with your system and explain it. No, I don't work there. I'm just a very happy customer who has used them a number of times to repair our two AC systems. I even had them provide a phone consult about a commercial issue we were having at work, just to make sure the commercial AC guy was telling us the truth. They are just fantastic. Like other reviewers, I have had bad experiences with American Home Shield (AHS). I've been consistently underwhelmed by the "professionals" they send to my home... and by AHS, as a whole. That is where the similarities end. It's worth noting that I own and operate a service-related business, which makes me more patient than others in select situations but decidedly more exacting in the overall standards I have for other businesses. Stockdale Service came to me by way of AHS and has truly impressed me. They've been out multiple times to repair the same issue (electronic pilot light not igniting consistently) and have always been great. We're now in the repair warranty phase, which I'm virtually certain entitles Stockdale to zero compensation for their time from AHS, but they've been exceedinly friendly on each visit. --- Stockdale's repeated visits are a byproduct of the AHS way of doing things and not an indictment of the quality of their service or workmanship. --- Debbie is always friendly and helpful on the phone, and Jake (younger guy) has been professional and knowledgeable whenever he's been out for repairs. It was a recent visit by the owner, Jim, however, that inspired this [rare for me] review... I have a six-month-old at home, and she's been the obvious source of our greatest concern about our ongoing heat/furnace issues, amidst the colder weather we've had recently. After briefing Jim and giving him some space to poke around, I stepped into the other room where, shortly afterward, I overhead one end of a phone conversation that went something like this: "Hey Debbie, we need to get a [part name] over here ASAP." [Talking on other end of phone, presumably about the "joys" of interfacing with AHS and how they may or may not compensate Stockdale for the part] "I don't care. They have a baby girl here, and I won't tolerate her being cold again. We need to fix this and deal with AHS later." As a father for less than a year and a business owner for many more, I was instantly sold. We always do whatever is best for the client, no matter what, and it's powerful anytime I encounter another person or business that shares that approach. The last visit also seems to have finally resolved the issue at my home, by the way. If/WHEN I move away from AHS, I'll not hesitate to contact Stockdale for residential service. In the meantime, they've also just completed some work on my office. To no one's surprise, without AHS in the way, they fixed the issue the first time. Just had Shaun come out to fix our A/C downstairs unit that would not come on. He was bang on time, super polite (asked also if he should wear a mask, which I really appreciate these days) and got right to it. There were at least a couple of issues that he fixed (transformer and a short that had cause it to go), one inside and one outside. I was just really impressed with his efficiency, work ethic and level of competence. I think I'd give ten stars here if I could as it's also rare that companies have the right parts on hand. I'm writing this for my father who also uses Home Shield. This was the company that was sent to repair his A/C back in January. The technician was Jake also because I'm looking at the invoice right now. I would HIGHLY discourage anyone from using this company and I'll explain why. My father had to call Home Shield again this past Monday because his AC unit was making horrible noises. It wasn't until yesterday that another company made it out to his house...FINALLY. After the guy looked at it he basically stated that inside the motor is a fan along with wires. Due to the wires not being properly secured within that part, it caused them to come loose, get wrapped up in the fan, and therefore causing it to trip the breaker. Not only were my parents lucky enough not to have experienced this unit catching on fire from what he was told, but also possibly being shocked by opening the door where the unit is housed. I'm truly disgusted by this person's work and he should honestly have his license taken away and be put out of business. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

I would never use these guys. They did fix the heating issue but broke the attic access ladder (which is costing me $350). American Home Shield (AHS) sent us Stockdale Service to fix my heater. The owner (he is a heavy set guy) came in as the technician. While working in my attic they broke the access ladder for my attic (the whole ladder), and then had the audacity to blame it on the builder of the house (I had use attic more than 20 times since I bought the house). Then the technician (the owner of Stockdale Service) said he will send somebody to fix this and that was 4 weeks ago. Till today, I have the ladder on the floor and a big hole in my ceiling. They can fix your heating but might break something else which will cause more money to fix. I am working with AHS to get them off that list since AHS sent them as service company. I still wish AHS would have sent somebody else. read more

Stockdale came out to do a repair on our central AC system today. When the technician arrived, he was not wearing a mask and didn't attempt to maintain proper social distances when speaking with us. He found that a previous technician had failed to secure some wires inside the outside unit which he stated caused some damage to the refrigerant line. This resulted in all of our refrigerant to leak out. He then told us, without first contacting our home warranty to confirm coverage, that we would have to pay them $70 per pound of refrigerant and that our system needed 7.5 lbs. After researching on our American Home Shield account, we found out that the last service company who came out in July of this year was also Stockdale. When I called them back to explain that it was their previous technician who failed to secure the wires, thus causing the damage to the refrigerant line, the guy on the phone claimed he was the one who came out and that he never removed anything on the AC unit. However, he somehow managed to replace the compressor... Weird how you can replace a compressor without ever removing any enclosures on the system. Basically, Stockdale screwed up, causing damage, and now want to charge us for recharging the system that wouldn't even have needed repair if their first technician did his job properly. AHS has confirmed that they've received multiple complaints of poor workmanship from Stockdale service technicians. My recommendation is to avoid Stockdale at all costs. read more

Jake was amazing! We just had a great experience with Stockdale Service Company. American Homeshield had them out to my house within a couple hours of my service request. They also called to let me know when they were in-route, 15 or so minutes, and he was perfectly on time. Jake was so friendly, professional, knowledgable, and comfortable to have in my home. He found the problem so quickly and is obviously very good at what he does. He has the part ordered and will be back in a couple days. I called American Home Shield this past Friday afternoon, because we had an electrical smell and A/C wasn't working. We had about 30 people coming over the next day, so we were in a little of a panic! Debi at Stockdale was very nice, courteous and had great follow up both days. We knew they were coming 9-11 on Saturday morning, but she called to let us know when they were on their way! Jake showed up with a smile on his face, found that it was just the run capacitor, and fixed us up in about 5 minutes. 106 in the shade in Central Texas and my AC Unit just stops!!. The outside unit will not come on and I'm thinking we are looking at replacing our 14 year old unit. We have a home warranty through American Home Shield and they quickly set up an appointment with Stockdale. Within one hour of my call Debbie with Stockdale calls me back and sets up service for the next day. Debbie even took the time to call me 30 minutes before the tech is to arrive so that I can meet him at my house. Jake arrives on time and couldn't be more professional. I was not optimistic due to the other reviews I saw, but boy was I wrong. My air conditioner had broken (like many times before) and I was used to American Home Shield sending out companies that just don't care. Kody called me first thing this morning to let me know they received the work order (that was requested at 8pm last night so great turn around!) and told me that Jake would be out mid-day. Jake showed up exactly on time, even with the bad weather, and actually listened to what I had to say. He didn't ignore me or act like he knew better. I told him what my concern was and he immediately addressed it and found the issue. He was honest about everything, answered all of my questions in depth, and walked me through everything he was doing to fix the problem. He took his time making sure everything was working great and even stayed long enough to confirm my air conditioner was running properly again. I cannot express how thankful I am for this service tech to finally hear me out and find the problem and get it fixed in less than an hour.
