I've been remodeling for quite some time and am finally sitting down to write my reviews. Judy came to my home initially to see what I wanted to do. I have a small kitchen and wanted to replace the tile counters with Quartz. Gentleman who came to measure was professional and very nice. I had to go to Arizona Tile to pick out my design. Not one salesperson came up to me to see if I needed help (which I will provide more detail on their review). Guys came to install. I have come across a few flaws and edges that are not perfect. I used their recommended handyman Steven to remove the old sink and install the new sink. Unfortunately, it was not a smooth process and I ended up paying extra because he had to come back a few times. I paid a lot more money to have the sink put in properly than what I was initially advised by Stone & Beyond. Lastly and most importantly, after spending thousands of dollars, I was very surprised Judy or someone would have contacted me to see how everything turned out and whether I was satisfied with the job. read more

With s and b being one of the highest bids the Install seemed great until noticing things little by little. One of the seams was not properly done not smooth turned black an doesn't come clean and the corner was chipped, they over cut a piece an had to add another piece looks very sloppy and installed the sink upside down, their response was "it was installed 9 months ago" read more

Sent me home with about 15 heavy samples. Asked several friends and family members in about a 10-day period, which they liked best (after I narrowed it down). Decided. Picked the top 3 favorites. Guess what? They didn't have them in stock! Can you believe they had them on the showroom, sent them home with me, wasted my time and others' time! Not cool!! The owner just kind of shrugged it off and I said "and you won't even offer any kind of compensation" and that's when she offered a sterling silver sink for free. You will find all quartz (which I had installed) and granite countertop businesses will throw in a sterling silver sink for free. I ended up going with another company (see other review) who had the SAME quartz in stock and threw in the kitchen sink for free. The price was over $1500 less, too. Enough said! read more

I am VERY picky about seams showing, and you cannot see any seams in my countertops unless you look really hard. It's the best seam work I've seen. They went above and beyond in cutting and aligning the veins. Everything is flawless. They are quick and responsive by email, which is rare these days! They are generous with their time and service and really care about making their customers happy. Best of all, their prices can't be beat! Fortunately for us, we only are about 1.5 miles away from their location. When we moved here we immediately remodeled our outdated galley-style kitchen. They had great selections of just about anything you wanted. We picked out a beautiful piece of granite (2.t' x 13') for our bar top and a neutral slab of quartz for counters and back splash. They measured and rebuilt base on top of new cabinets installed and did an excellent job..We later remodeled the master bathroom and although they didn't have what we were looking for - they helped us find it elsewhere and picked it up for us to cut to fit. highly recommend read more

I cannot express how happy and excited I am with my new counter tops. Having a few quotes from other places and limited timing on when to schedule, Stone and Beyond was definitely the BEST way to go. First off, Yelena was amazing. I probably had over 20 email correspondences to her and she was always prompts about getting back to me and had excellent communication. She was really helpful in picking out the best color for my kitchen. Judy was also great and gave me some good advice. My installers, Angel and his team were phenomenal. I have a really hard staircase for them to get this huge slab up and he really didn't want to cut it so he made sure that he was able to get the whole slab up my staircase. I almost cried with happiness. He always asked me my opinion prior to what he planned to do (such as the holes for the faucet) and was just a pleasure to work with them. They did an amazing job demoing it too (I was worried it would chip some of the brand new paint on my cabinets but nope, they look exactly as they should. This is a long over-due review but I never felt comfortable with writing a review at the beginning of our association w/ Stone & Beyond (S&B) in 2013. I kept hoping things would get better but they didn't. It has been a costly & time-consuming lesson. I am writing now after an unfortunate ending to 3+ yrs of negotiations w/ the company. My concerns & recommendations to folks who might be considering doing business w/ S&B: 1. Communication- We found it very difficult to communicate face-to-face, by phone & through emails with the sales manager of the company. Make sure you have all the paperwork regarding your purchases in detail & review it carefully before making your payment. Also keep a paper trail of all communications of any kind you have with any one from this company. It's your word against theirs & even with documentation on my part & confirmation from a CS rep, the sales manager would not negotiate, even briefly, re our claim. 2. Customer service & follow-up - Neither are their strengths so you must look after your interests & follow-up with them - be proactive. It involves extra time & energy but it is worth it. Example- the warranty on our slab of Caesarstone (CS) was not registered with CS by S&B until ~1.5 yrs after our purchase. It was another year after the warranty was finally filed by S&B that they got a CS rep to come to our home to fix the issue.This could have been very costly to us but CS honored a repair despite the delay in warranty registration. 3. Beware of purchasing remnants- Remnants can save money but there is also a large margin of error from what you choose in the storeroom & what is installed in your home. Beware of discontinued colors! Not reviewing the original sales order CAREFULLY & not being aggressive in the 1st year cost us the purchase of another counter-top from another company after S&B installed an incorrect color counter-top in our home. 4. Fabrication & installation- Carefully inspect both before signing off on the project. We had S&B employees out to our house a minimum of 2 times to make corrections/adjustments to their original work - some things look better, others not. To be fair, I would like say that several employees were very helpful & did provide good customer service to the extent that they could. And the main CS company was reputable & helpful. I would not recommend S&B for your counter-top needs. read more

We shopped around for a fabricator/installer and Stone offered the best price for our kitchen counters in Vacaville. We visited the workplace and found it to be well organized, neat and tidy. The granite, which we bought from Bedrosians was a very high quality Lapidus. We wanted a large L shaped piece without a seam for the kitchen counter. This was not easy and it took five guys to carry the piece in. Stone accommodated our desires whereas another installer wanted considerably more money to do the job our way, while another installer refused to do one piece. Looks so much better without a seam at the bend in the L. Throughout the process Judy, the owner, and Emily the manager were very helpful and easy to communicate with. The fellows who did the actual install were good at their job and have been with the company for quite some time. So much of the time contractors are a real pain in the #&* to work with. When doing home renovations, it is tough to know where to start. Currently, we finally saved up enough to have our kitchen remodeled, and in need to add the granite counter tops. I was recommended by a friend of ours to come to Stone and Beyond due to all the good they have ever heard. Stone and Beyond is tucked away off of Del Paso Blvd behind Java City. (Just follow the signs for Track 7 Brewery basically). Upon walking in, I seem to have startled a younger woman who seemed as if I had bothered her a bit. I already knew the exact shade (if you will) of granite that I wanted, as well as brought in a complete drawing and measurements for rough pricing. There is a couple demo kitchens set up, and many options of stone to chose from, as well as the fabricating warehouse is viewable from the showroom. I then asked her how it works with Stone and Beyond. Do they come out and measure, and do all of the fabrication for the edges/cuts/sink holes/etc? Immediately she hands me a sheet stating the yards I need to go to look at slabs of granite first and pay for the granite, before proceeding. Which personally, doesn't make sense to me, but okie doke. I hand her my measurements and ask what a ballpark estimate would be. 10 mins later, proceeds to say labor and fabrication will be $X,xxx.xx of which I asked exactly what the labor includes, and some sort of irritation had mulled over her. Now- I need to know if I'm planning on going through Stone and Beyond, do we hire someone to remove existing counters, or place the granite down and Seam together, install the sink, etc... And she was irritated and finally answered what I needed to know. Ultimately, I didn't chose Stone and Beyond due to my first impression. I may be young, but I'm not stupid. read more

I am a picky customer. I prefer to do things myself because I like things done well. And I HATE dealing with contractors (they're late, sloppy, or take too long - or all of the above, it seems!) Sometimes I just can't do it all, so when we needed a new countertop we went to Angie's List and chose Stone and Beyond. They had glowing reviews so I had high hopes. I've been burned by Angie's List before - but not this time! Judy worked with us to choose a stone that they had remnants for and we purchased at discount, significantly reducing the cost of the work. She was communicative throughout the process - we weren't left guessing on anything. There was a small flaw in the quartz piece sent from the manufacturer in a visible place and she called me in to look at it before installation. We agreed to a fix for the flaw and the installation was the next day. The installation was fast and visibly perfect. Really, nothing to complain about! Fast forward a year and heavy use left me with a couple of chips in my counter (I'm pretty clumsy!) We called and had to cancel once for repairs on the same day. No problem. When I called back I asked them to squeeze me in and the repairs were done the same day. Seriously! These people are a dream to work with! They need to give classes on how to run business to other business owners. Really. Update: We sold our house in April to the first person who viewed it, though we had multiple bids. The house had some good aspects, but we were told over and over again that people really liked the kitchen and countertops. The repairs held up well, even though the repairman had told me he wasn't sure about one spot that was particularly large and he had to try 3 times to fill and get it to stick. I just wish that Stone and Beyond could be available to put in our new counters in Toronto. read more

At first I thought they did a good job until a few years later my granite edged broke off in 2 separate places 2 separate times...All at the location of a seem. I spoke with Judy at Stone and Beyond and they would not fix it and charged me $200. I was very upset as I design a lot of homes for remodels and I have never once seen edges fall off...I usually use someone else, though. I thought they should have better customer service than that. So I had to pay the $200...Well a few months later another section broke off by another seem and they said they will not come back and fix for free...that and I would have to pay another $200 for the repairs!! Such bad customer service! It's clearly an installment issue if 2 separate times the granite edge is falling off by a seem...this is not just a coincidence! This was my personal home I wanted some fancy edges and a friend recommended Stone and Beyond. I will not use them again! read more

This company was the best of the best from the time I entered their showroom. I needed a slab for a Master Bathroom Remodel. Crystal helped me find a remnant and probably saved me a $1000.00 by doing so. The best thing about the remnant was we wound up liking it better than the whole slab samples I was considering. It only went uphill from there. Ben, their in-house template maker, was exceptional working with us and our plan when he came out to the house. If we could give them 10 stars we would. About three months ago, we had Cambria quartz countertops put in our kitchen. Everyone is very interested in satisfying the customer. I worked with Judy on the logistics of installing the quartz and I told her that I was anal about having no seams. She told me the pros and cons of installing with no seams i.e. possibly scratching the side of the pantry. In the end, they indulged my desire for no seams and the installation went flawlessly thanks to Angel and Omar. They are true craftsmen at their trade and pay close attention to detail. I never met the fabricator but according to Angel he does the fabrication manually. It was perfect. That would be enough to give them 5 stars but the story doesn't end here. A few weeks later my husband bought me the new stove I wanted for my birthday. When it arrived, it was and 1/8 inch too big to fit into the space. I called Stone and Beyond and they said they could have someone out there that afternoon. Now that is what I call customer service. I was able to resolve the stove issue myself by adjusting the sides so I didn't need to have them come out after all but I was impressed with their desire to help since this clearly was not their problem. I would certainly use Stone and Beyond again and I encourage anyone doing a remodel involving quartz or other materials to give Stone and Beyond a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

I couldn't have been happier with my experience with Stone and Beyond. Judy and Nicole were wonderful to work with and went out of their way to let me be part of the process. I felt I got a very competitive price and the final product is stunning. All of the granite stores spoke very highly of them, and the reviews on Angie's List were stellar. They were also responsive to my emails and phone calls, always replying in a short time. And they showed up when they said they would, which was much appreciated. Though I give them 5 stars (and they deserve it) there were a couple of things the field crew could improve on a bit. The saw was set up in my front yard very close to the front door and bedroom window and the white dust from the granite found its way into the whole house. When they demolished the old counters, the electric outlets were left hanging out of the box which felt unsafe. They are very clear that they don't do electrical and plumbing work but I would have preferred to know I should have an electrician over after the demo to put the outlets back in place until the granite was installed. If I put granite or quartz anywhere else in my house I will go straight to Stone and Beyond. I know I'll get great customer service, a competitive price and a top quality finished product. read more
