We had our kitchen remodeled using the contractors and staff at the Sacramento Kitchen Mart facility. It's hard to know where to begin because the experience with KM is so different from that experienced with typical contractors. Communication. Typically a major frustration with contractors was in fact excellent with KM. Emails and calls were returned in a timely manner and they go to great lengths to explain the process and provide a detailed timeline. Duration of work. We had gotten estimates of 4-6 months to complete our remodel; KM was finished in a little over a month. They stuck to their schedule (despite problems that arose with suppliers) and always communicated any changes that were required. They handled all of the permitting requirements, and in Davis that is not a small task. Notable is that a KM staffer came to the house the day of final inspection and looked at the whole house for potential problems. He replaced ALL of our smoke detectors at no cost just to make sure there were no problems with the inspection. The Davis inspector was very impressed with the work and passed the job without any concerns. Quality of work. We had superb craftsmen work on our project; John and Zachary and Joe were all just excellent. They took pride in their work, showed up on time, and always communicated what they were doing. They took great pains to minimize dust and overall mess. Huge sheets of plastic were placed floor to ceiling to localize the dust and debris. Sheets of protective material were placed on the floor. Everything was done in a professional manner. The supervisor of our project, Edgar, was remarkable in watching over the project and being there whenever needed. Sourcing of materials. KM can provide pretty much everything you need with regards to cabinets, fixtures and some appliances. The quality of all materials from KM was excellent and so much more convenient than searching it out on your own. I have to add, however, that their recommended appliance source, A-1 appliance, was very disappointing. A-1 failed to order our rangetop despite it being paid for well in advance, and their installers were incompetent and rude. Our project foreman, Edgar, intervened and was a lifesaver in getting a rangetop in time to prevent a major delay, and in fixing the poor installation provided by A-1. Cost. We had many estimates for our remodel and KM was far from the highest. Their estimate was very accurate and very reasonable considering the quality of work, convenience, and the speed with which the work was done. In summary, Kitchen Mart stands way way above the pack when it comes to the often tedious and stressful process of remodeling your home. They offer a one stop solution, do superb work at a reasonable price, and complete the work in a very timely fashion. We plan to have them do our bathrooms and in fact would not consider anyone else. read more

There is much to see in their showroom, however, without having a proper assessment of my Kitchen or home, I was told right off the bat that it would start at 60k as a baseline estimate. That already tells me that I cannot trust this location. It's really hard for me to give this location an accurate rating however, just based on my 10 minutes of window shopping experience, I didn't really appreciate the cookie cutter approach. I scheduled to get an estimate from Kitchen Mart a week ago for 10 am this morning. When no one showed up at that time I called, only to be told by the young woman, Jessica, with whom I initially made the appointment that I was not in their schedule. There was no attempt to make this right by scheduling someone right away. I would have to wait another week, at the soonest. If they are that unreliable, and that uncooperative in their scheduling, I can only imagine they will be the same on the job. We chose Kitchen Mart because almost every neighbor in our development has used them and were happy. Kitchen Mart did a great job of our kitchen update a few years ago. This review is on their service to a former customer. Due to an unfortunate mishap, steam from an appliance warped the covering on two sides of a kitchen drawer front. I don't recall the technical name for the covering. It is glued and attached to the outer surface of the cabinets. So we took the drawer front back to Kitcheen Mart to see what they can do. As luck would have it, the color of the original covering has been dscontinued. So the gentleman that works on cabinets suggested replacing the two warped edges with strips. He presented two colors of the same material: one slightly lighter and one slightly darker to choose from. He offered a brilliant thought that the lighter color would work better as it won't stand out when under the shadow of the counter edge. A day later, we got our drawer front back. The replacement edges are barely noticeable. When installed and back under the counter, it's perfect! The cost was a reasonable half hour's labor. Thanks Kitchen Mart! read more

Lemme give it to you from start to finish. Steve King came to my house to measure and make a general quote. A few weeks later and after a couple other opinions (one company said they can lower the cost by not getting any permits - kind of shady). I called Steve back and we started the process. He's a really cool dude, we connected over our love of music and life in general. He walked me through the design process, it's my first remodel for any house and there is a lot of options. It took a few hours so be ready for this, but with a professional on your side it is much easier. So after that I waited, waited and waited. It took about 4 months before we started. KC came out and did a final measure and went over all my choices, sizes and what nots. THIS IS IMPORTANT!!! Make sure you know what you want and the actual sizes. I suddenly decided to take the Corian all the way up the wall and even made a few changes once the job started. It isn't easy because everything is already ordered and measured but KC and the crew really pulled it off for me. So the job starts and a gentleman named Sulu showed up first in a Kitchen Mart van and explained the demolition process. This guy is not only professional but he is hilarious and has a great ability to whistle while he worked. Another guy showed up shortly after, ladies and gentlemen this man has over 40 years experience and is a master craftsman. I'm talking about No Fuss Russ. He was by far my favorite. We had a couple county inspections and Jacob, a Kitchen Mart representative who handles the entire process. He's a chill guy and knows his business inside and out. I didn't even need to say a word to the inspectors, Jacob handled it all. The second week I had a new guy show up to do the Corian work. Drum roll please .... T-Money, T-Sauce, Tim the super tool man! Along with Russ, KC and Tim they were able to accomplish my small second request of extending the bench in the shower. Corian donest just sell an extra 6" of material lol. They were able to piece it together from the scraps they had cut out from the window and walls. Now you gotta know, they can not make everything work but I was lucky that Tim hooked it up! He was able to make the shower bench I always dreamed of. A few other guys helped a great deal also, T'wa (probably spelled horribly wrong) but his has a surfer style with a professional mindset. He went out of his comfort zone and got the flooring down and set. We even had lunch and just talked like friends, it was legit awesome. No joke, after the project was done ... my bathroom was beyond dirty and they were a few issues that needed to be touched up. I was a little dissatisfied by this, $30k and it was a mess, Corian wasn't buffed, sink didn't even drain all the way, plus silicon was legit everywhere. I spent a few hours just cleaning the mess in the shower itself. Having said that, I can understand a couple hiccups. I told KC about it and he sent Austin, dude is one skilled mofo. Plus KC himself came out to help finish the polishing and little details. All in all, it took a little longer than expected, it was pretty dirty and needed some touching up. But I am for sure coming back for my front bathroom and kitchen. They made it work and they did it with totally amazing customer service, that just doesn't seem to exist these days. I want to stress I am not upset about those hiccups and understand construction is a process. My bathroom doesn't even feel like it belongs in my house, when I walk into it feel transported to some upscale hotel or million dollar home bathroom. Thank you very much, everyone involved. Our initial contact with them was good but there were a few slip-ups during the contract specifics and installation. We had never done any remodeling, so we didn't know what to look for. Hopefully this review will help you. We had Kitchen Mart paint our bathroom vanity and kitchen cabinets, replace the cabinet doors and drawers, install new countertops, install a kitchen and bathroom sink, and install a kitchen and bathroom faucet. We ran into some issues, some were ours, like our plumbing problems, and some were theirs, like doors being installed crooked and caulking not being filled out completely. The notation 'soft close' drawers was written on our contract but we were never shown what they were, nor did they explain how they work. The name soft close sounds good and we didn't know anything about this, so missed this issue on the contract, but when they installed the drawers, we found them hard to open. They worked very hard to find a solution that was okay with us. In the end, they broke the track so that our drawers are no longer 'hard to open' but now we have drawers that bounce back open after closing. We're not thrilled with the outcome, but we are getting used to it. The quartz backsplash wasn't cut correctly and on both sides of our window and cabinet it was mounted incorrectly. There was a gap between the wall and the cupboard and the window. Originally, they filled the gap with caulk and didn't say anything! The poor looking 'fix' was not run past us. We had to point it out to the project manager. They came back and fixed the issue best they could without having to cut a whole new backsplash. We accepted the fix, but this shouldn't have happened in the first place and it's not as clean fitting as it should be. We choose painted cabinet doors. We had them before for over 30 years and they did well. The Kitchen Mart team recommended the new painted cabinet doors have a 'satin' finish. We went along with that but learned later this was a bad choice! The problem is their washability. They do not clean up easily and in fact, they can stain! We are very disappointed with the durability of the doors. Overall, there were many small issues with our remodel. We may have had a worse issues with other companies, we don't know. They did work on fixing all the issues once they were notified of the problems. read more

I fing love this company!!! I had them do my kitchen cabinets and make my living room tv built in shelving thingy and from start to finish I was truly impressed!!! The first point of contact came and stayed with me and we thoroughly went through everything that I wanted. I had a small spot for the garbage/recycle option and they absolutely had something perfect for my space! They make computer generated pictures and send new ones for every revision! The working crew came within a few weeks and I got a Project Manager of the project, Mike Hart, and an on site Project Manager, Randy, for the install. BJ built my tv hutch and it turned out exactly as I envisioned; stunning!!! Everyone is super friendly and helpful. They arrive ON TIME and clean up after themselves! I had a couple snafus that needed fixing and Mike Hart made it happen with such ease and satisfaction! Mike has such a detail oriented eye on absolutely the smallest things which I appreciate as a homeowner! I recommend them to my across street neighbor and she told me they were coming out to consult! Fourteen years ago we had Kitchen Mart remodel our bathroom. Upon a recent house inspection the inspector found that the pan in the shower failed. The wood rot below the shower was the worst the contractors had ever seen. The entire sub floor structure had to be rebuilt. Demolition was extensive. We asked Kitchen Mart to come out to see the damage and bid on the job. They couldn't come out even to give us a quote for over 3 weeks. We needed to get the job done since we were putting our house on the market. We also asked them to come out to see the damage after we chose another contractor to see if they would reimburse us some $ for their poor workmanship. The owner of Kitchen Mart did not come out and also did not offer to give us anything. He wrote us an email saying that he cannot be responsible for something that happened so long ago. If it's not their responsibility then whose is it?? It had been leaking since it was constructed to have caused that much damage. DO NOT use Kitchen Mart for any of your construction needs. The owner is not willing to work with you, but will only make you feel like it's your problem. He wasn't willing to give us even a penny! Well Kitchen Mart has done it again! They are consistent with their quality of workmanship and advice! After the fantastic job done with our small kitchen project, we knew our master bath remodel would be the same! From our initial meeting with John M. to the final inpection, we were able to make changes to our initial plan. John assisted on choosing all plumbing hardware, corian, tile, and cabinet design. See pictures below! Thank you John! Instead of a cabinet re-facing, we changed for a new cabinet with an additional sink and plumbing hardware. The white sink is integrated with the corian and is seemless. The master cabinet has soft close drawers and doors. We also added a custom cabinet above the new toilet. In the shower, we chose the coving of our corian-Carrera Lino, which was installed from ceiling to floor. The linear drain is a Schluter. The corian is easy to clean and slip proof! The decorative grab bars provide additional safety! The niche provides ample shelving. The heavy glass shower door opens both inside and out. We waited an additional 3 weeks after measurement by Dick's Rancho Glass. Frank Z.,lead general carpenter/installer is an amazing craftsman! We are really grateful for his detail to perfection and kindness! Ask for Frank! His partner, Daniel G., did a great job as well! They did the majority of work! Thank you Frank and Danny! So many things were measured incorrectly (or not at all as was the case with our island, leaving us to have to guess and ending up with something shorter than what we had previously and what we wanted with the island replacement). Here I am 3 years later and STILL having issues with this subpar slapper job that Kitchen Mart did on my kitchen. Everything is separating, their shit patch job on my oven cabinets look to be falling apart completely. The air gap, which got denied on inspection, is now showing more issues with Edgar's crap work on fixing that issue. Hoses are hooked up to wrong sides of the air gap, the hoses are kinked and now the dishwasher overflows every single time it runs. topping on the cake is the grout, which I paid extra for high quality epoxy grout, is NOT that. It is standard black grout and it is falling out everywhere in the kitchen. Bet the wall behind my sink is rotting now from these issues. Was immediately greeted by a sweet gal (didn't get her name) but told her what I was looking for and she pulled out the samples for me. My project is not within their boundaries they still were so welcoming and helpful. I wish I got their names, 2 nice gals and another dude (49er fan) that was also welcoming. I felt right at home. Our kitchen remodel in early 2021 happened on time and on budget. It was a 3 month wait before they could start but we were aware of that. They did quality work, showed up when they said and came back recently for a minor repair. The most negative thing I can say is that the demo crew did not do a good job protecting the house from the dust storm they created. The plastic wall could have been put up better and when I offered a fan to exhaust the dust out the kitchen window, they said it was not needed. Wrong! We are having them do a quote for a bathroom remodel and will hire them again if the quote is competitive. read more

Their designer exposed me to Covid-19 and, even though she tested positive 5 days after being in my home, did not bother to contact me. I found out when I went in to the design center 13 days after our appointment and it was her first day back at work-- so the owner of the business also knew. Totally irresponsible business and employees. *One of the two employees wasn't wearing a mask when I came in, even though she was told minutes earlier I was coming in and there's a big sign on the front door that says masks are required. I don't appreciate anyone eliminating my ability to make informed decisions when it comes to health and safety. *In response to your response, obviously your co is not following County mandates as your receptionist was not wearing a mask when she greeted me. Didn't even have one nearby. Secondly, your designer touched several surfaces in my home without gloves and without wiping down afterwards. Thirdly, if one of your employees tests positive, which she did, you should immediately contact those whom they have come in contact with. She said she got sick the night she was at my house. Obviously she wasn't exposed at my house since it take days to exhibit symptoms. read more

We had fully prepared for negative experiences, set backs, time frame delays, etc... because of kitchen remodel horror stories we've heard about from friends or researching ourselves. Kitchen Mart was a dream. They were professional, used their own contractors, and stuck with their 5 week time frame which seems to be really rare in kitchen remodeling. They also made sure that their job is complete before we made our last payment. We had Edgar's team helping us. Brandon and Will were with us the whole 5 weeks. They were amazing! They both went above and beyond for us. We were so comfortable with them here, as much as I wanted my kitchen to be done, we were sad to see them leave! Now I have to do my laundry room to get the dream team back! Lol. We would (and will) be using this company again. To date, there has been zero issues with the remodel/reface KitchenMart provided, which tells me the workmanship and product provided was as good at the time of the remodel 4 months later. I use my kitchen a lot so it gets a lot of wear and tear, and it doesn't show. I am sure there are other kitchen remodel contractors that are also really good at what they do, but I would not hesitate to hire or recommend KitchenMart since they bring the WHOLE package from the moment of the quote to the final day of the remodel. read more

We purchased a kitchen refacing project from Kitchen Mart. We had a number of issues, water leakage and cabinets delaminating near the stove. After we called Kitchen Cart to tell them the problem, they told us to read the fine print about the delaminating around the stove. It would have been more professional to state that up front , that delaminating was a issue, we probably would gone a different direction with the cabinets. As to the leaking, Karla, the sales rep, told us to call Fergusons. That is where we purchased the faucet. Fergusons told us it was the the installation, not the faucet. We ended up purchasing another faucet. Your people installed a hot sink that leaked and three months later so did the faucet. I paid $200 again to install the faucet and some change the first time and the second time I offered to pay and the guy said don't worry about it. I'm not gonna worry about it and I'm not gonna pay it you guys caused the problem by putting it in wrong and I had to go out and buy all new stuff to replace it and I'm going to put this on Yelp. I have a 50's Piedmont area three bedroom home in Fair Oaks I picked up when the market fell and saved a few bucks. Apparently so did the seller by using exterior paint inside after they were done outside. Easy to clean, but poorly applied. I had a chance to paint the guest room when it was recently vacated. As I was already in the process with Kitchen Mart for my master bathroom fix up, I requested a painting quote for the guest room. I accepted their reasonably quoted price. The simple fact is, their team, all in house employees, are top shelf to work with. They understand communication, the know not to assume anything, and instead ask; even it is as simple as removal of a bracket I missed when preparing the room. I cannot remember getting off the phone with any of them and not feeling even better about my decision to work with them. Their paint crew manager, Dave, is very easy to work with and helped guide some of my decisions with regard to cost benefit outcomes etc... Bottom line: When I do get the opportunity to paint the balance of my home's interior, Kitchen Mart and Dave's crew will be my first choice read more

My neighbor had KM do some extensive remodeling so I went to the showroom and their "designer" came to my house. i basically knew what I wanted for a bathroom but needed her input which was good. She sent a proposal that had virtually no breakdown of costs so I asked if she would let me know some minimal details. She said she would work on it over the weekend(3 weeks ago). never heard back. I've since talked to two others who also asked for a little more detail and also never heard from them again. i was ready to move ahead but she apparently had enough others who accepted their proposals so didn't bother with me. It was a 5 week remodel and they stuck to the plan from start to finish. They arranged the schedule with other contractors to make sure the work got done correctly and timely. One of the major differences in service is that all parts of the project are done 'in house' (no outside vendors). which translates for us, the customer, into a smoother timeline because Kitchem Mart has more control...no nasty surprises. If there is a problem or question...you go to ONE vendor, Kitchen Mart who takes care of it. (We had questions but no problems). All the employees, are super friendly and know their job. One employee (Andrew Moss) even went so far as to show us OUR specific quartz slab in the rain (we really wanted to see it before installation). He even took the time to measured and tape where the cuts in the slab would be so we could see if there was any flaws or variations in color we wanted to avoid. This was so above expectations and very impressive. Our home is small, but the installers showed the same respect and courtesy they would for a larger project. They were careful not to 'ding' our walls and laid down heavy paper to protect the floors. Excellent! For this project we only had new Quartz kitchen counter tops put in and not one 'hiccup'. We will certainly use them for our upcoming projects without any reservations. read more

Kitchen Mart deserves 10 stars on the Yelp scale of 1 to 5. They are outstanding in: * Customer Service * Value * Attention to detail I had my tile kitchen counters replaced with quartz . I couldn't be happier with the outcome and the entire experience. I had contacted a few other companies. None bothered to return my calls. Kitchen Mart was very responsive right from the first inquiry all the way through job completion. They let me know who to expect at my house for each part of the job and what time they would arrive. Their employees did the demolition. Other companies sub-contract out. The crew taped up and protected the appliances and the floors. They separated the kitchen from the rest of the house with plastic sheeting. Demolition is very messy, dust and debris flying all over, but they cleaned up virtually all of the mess before leaving. On demolition day I received a call from the manager. He was not happy with the quartz slab for my job and the supplier could not get him a replacement. Kitchen Mart went above and beyond to provide a substitute. The manager drove from Rancho Cordova to Davis with the sample box so that demolition could continue and I could select a different pattern. He left thanking me for being so flexible while I was ecstatic that the new pattern looked even better in my home than the one I had previously selected. The installers arrived on time as scheduled eight days after demolition. I watched them measure and re-measure to make sure all seams were as tight as possible. They have obvious pride in their work. My kitchen has been transformed. I enthusiastically recommend Kitchen Mart. read more

Excellent work, products and communication. About four years ago, we had KM reface our kitchen. It looked so good, and the price was much less than replacing the cabinets. We've received many compliments that the new kitchen looks so much better. More recently, we had KM reface our bathrooms and also cabinet doors in the hallway. Same result - it all looks fantastic. It's been two years since the install now. Counter tops are perfect. The cabinets are in relatively good shape and working well. I'll mention to anyone else to make sure to keep the cabinetry dry, especially near the sink. The finish where it has gotten wet repeatedly is starting to wear off. We'll probably have to sand, refinish, and seal the doors on that cabinet sometime in the future. We had slide out draws installed and the mounting spacers that the rails are mounted to have failed in several cabinets that bear a heavier load, such as, the pots and pan drawer. They did come out for free to repair this but I went a step further and screwed a piece of solid wood underneath the rails to help support it more solidly. I'd also suggest bumpers or something to help the pull out drawers from dinging the doors when you pull them out. I contribute most of this to general wear and tear and not defects in craftsmanship, except for the rails failing, which they fixed. Still happy. read more

Ya know, when you buy your first house, as we did over 18 years ago, you're cheap because everything seems sooooo expensive, so you settle for crappy white tile countertops and cheap double sinks and horrendous builder-grade golden oak cabinets. Fast forward 17 years, and you're now a grown up, and you just HAVE to update your kitchen. Not because you're a master chef (far from it); no need to gut everything and add an island; let's upgrade and reface, shall we?), After getting several quotes (which seemed crazy high for our little kitchen), John from Kitchen Mart comes out and restores our faith in humanity. Due to their busy schedule, we were pencilled in a couple months down the road, which was fine by us. When demolition day came, we were excited. It took exactly how long they said it'd take; every person we had the pleasure of meeting was uber nice and uber efficient. In short, we cannot sing the praises of Kitchen Mart enough! If y'all are considering getting your kitchen done/redone, go with these guys! We don't have anymore kitchen stuff that needs to be done, but they also do bathrooms and our Master bath is in some dire need of upgrading, so we will not hesitate to use Kitchen Mart for that project in a couple of years. :) read more

Kitchen Mart did a wonderful job re-facing my kitchen cabinets, putting in countertops and tile backsplash. I was afraid I would spend the money and not get something beautiful. My kitchen exceeded my expectations. Turned out really nice. I took a long time to decide what to pick but everything came together when I went to their showroom in Rocklin, so I'd encourage anyone who is one the fence to just go there. The displays and sales people helped so much. The appliance store right next to them had terrific customer service and competitive pricing. I purchased a new dishwasher and a high end stove. I was most impressed with Kitchen Marts written timeline/schedule. They stick to it too! The guy who came the first day-wow amazing the way he demoed the kitchen all by himself. Really all the guys involved are very good at what they do ---my backsplash tile is WOW-very neat and perfectly done. At the end I had some issues like slanted drawers, missed grout lines and miss aligned wood joints but they sent out the -detail person who fixed everything. I'm going to go ahead and do my 2 bathrooms next with Kitchen Mart because they do good work. read more

My husband and I are going to completely remodel our kitchen and bath. We were greeted by Hailey at Kitchen Mart. We had some items in mind for the remodel and she answered all our questions. We all then went over to view granite selections. When we gave her our dimensions for kitchen and bath - it became obvious we were from Placerville (35ish miles away). After checking, Hailey told us we were out of their service area. We were extremely disappointed, as their showroom displayed many of the elements we were looking for. This is when something very cool happened - Hailey didn't try to rush us out of the showroom, just the opposite. She continued answering questions and helping us plan our remodel.
