I always wanted a marble dinning table. However, the limited selection online from Wayfair, Bob's Furniture, Home Depot, etc., gave me a second thought about owning one due to their crazy high prices. Also, I wasn't sure about their quality because what you see is exactly the opposite of what you're getting. That left me wondering where could I get a slab of Quartz stone to place over my battle damaged wooden dinning table. Luckily, my wife's friend recommended Stone Design Pro Inc., in Weymouth a place that I also recommended by a friend of mine who used to work there. They have any type of natural or man made stones you could possibly think of. Their showroom is very tidy just as you would expect similar to Jordan's. The price is fair. They came twice. First to measure our fireplace. Second to do the installment. So, without further ado, I placed a 40x72 1.25" thick for the dinning table and also asked them to provide me a quote for the fireplace. And here are the final products. Couldn't be happier. P.s. They finished glueing everything cut chop chop in less than 2 hrs! Also bravo to Chu Loi who helped us leveled the ground for fireplace. Initially, it was tilted. So he layered another another piece on top another but you can see the craftsmanship of cutting the stone at an angle. I'm a happy customer. read more

Well damn. We are in the middle of a bathroom remodel and I came up with this crazy 8 foot vanity that I wanted. When we started look for countertops for the vanity I originally wanted an all white piece of quartz. But because of the size, finding a remnant of that was going to be impossible. Stone Design was recommended to me by a coworker and my husband and I went there on a whim one day to see what they had. We lucked out and found a remnant piece that I really liked. Three business days later they were out to measure and three days after that they were here for install. With covid most places we spoke to were booked out for weeks/months and had little to no options. Stone Design not only had great show room options and remnant options, but I am completely blown away by the turn around and the quality of the customer service. This place had a few bad reviews at first so I was a little apprehensive about going but a family friend recommended this company. Their store looks SPECTACULAR! The displays were very helpful and I didn't feel rushed just looking around. They have an amazing selection of stones. I got exactly what I was looking for and the staff was very helpful every step of the way once we got started. Scheduling the template and installation for my new kitchen/sink counter top went pretty smooth. The owner even gave me tips about using the leftover material for my bathroom sink and I really appreciate the detail that went into everything. Incredible selection of marble and granite at "Rock Bottom" prices. I purchased a slab of Black Galaxy for a small counter top. The cutting and polishing was perfect, and the price was more than reasonable. Will be using these guys again in the near future to revamp a bathroom vanity. I was originally pleased with the price and service that I received. Unfortunately I did not receive a backsplash for one section of the kitchen, after visiting stone design, and speaking with Chris on three different occasions over a year and a half, I was promised that the backsplash would be cut free of charge the next time that he was working with the same material. Each time I went back, or called to follow up he seemed to have no clue that he ever said he would supply me with the backsplash that was originally left off. Maybe he just has not gotten around to cutting the same stone yet... Hard to believe that after he told me it was one of his most popular countertops. Pay a couple extra bucks to save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. read more

This was our second time using Stone Design and we have also sent a few friends there that were also very happy. We worked with Chris who told us to go to Boston Granite Exchange in West Bridgewater and pick out the granite we wanted on a Saturday. He scheduled us for installation that following Friday. Crew of four guys showed up at the time promised and did an awesome job with the install. Chris was very responsive throughout the whole process via text. RUN - don't walk - as quickly and as far away from this company as possible!! On the other hand, if you enjoy finding out the day before your granite countertops are scheduled for installation (and after you have disconnected your gas stove and kitchen sink), that your countertops aren't coming, then perhaps this is the company for you. I visited Stone Design Marble & Granite on June 3, 2014, to discuss installing new granite countertops in the kitchen. It was a very simple job - 2 pieces, one 31 inches x 25 inches, the second piece 112 inches x 25 inches, plus a surrounding 3-inch backsplash. In the larger of the two pieces, we wanted an under mount sink, and cutouts for the faucet and a gas cooktop. I met with Chris, who had a real "can do" attitude (at least on this day). I was told that the template would be done on Thursday June 5. That morning, I received a call telling me that the person who does the template was out sick and they would come by the following Tuesday, June 10. The template was done on June 10 and on June 13 we picked the slab and agreed on an installation date of Tuesday July 1 between 10 and 11am. Fast-forward to today (June 30) - I called Stone Design Marble and Granite to confirm the appointment - spoke to Chris again - it was as if we had never spoken before. First, it took about 3 minutes to find my paperwork and/or computer record. Not looking good. Second, when they returned to the phone, I was told the installation was scheduled for July 9. I replied, no, that was not correct (we have a home rented for vacation that week, so I know it would not have been scheduled then). I was told they would "look into it" and get back to me. An hour passed and there was still no word from them (this is a small company, not sure how many folks they need to look into it with). I called back and Chris tells me "that their saw broke and took 6 days to be repaired." They pushed all of their appointments back several days. Unfortunately, the missed the seemingly important steps of letting their customers know that the installation dates had been pushed back. Apparently, when the shop was idle for six days, it occurred to no one at Stone Design Marble and Granite to inform customers that it could be a problem. (Parenthetically, what company in this day and age has the luxury of shutting their business for six days on account of equipment failure - they must have some significant margins built into their prices if they can live with that). Nor, I guess, did it occur that perhaps they could rent or find another piece of equipment that could help them meet their customers need during this downtime (heck, even the Globe and Herald used to help each other out when their newspaper presses broke down from time to time - in the days when people actually read newspapers...but I digress). In any event, I explain to Chris that I have installers and plumbers lined up for July 1 and would like for him to see what he could do to make that date - perhaps even the afternoon could work for him. He said he would call back in 20 minutes. About 40 minutes later, he called back telling me that he could do it on July 3 in the afternoon - that was the soonest he could do it. The "can do" attitude displayed during the sale has disappeared! I asked him why he couldn't do it on July 1 (the next day) and he told me the stone had to be cut. I said why couldn't they cut it now - he just laughed - I'm still not sure what was so funny, but it was a serious question - perhaps their equipment still wasn't working. He offered an apology but no discount or any other accommodation. Functionally, with the July 4 weekend, installing it on the afternoon of July 3 is essentially the same as the morning of July 8, as there would be no way to get the appliances delivered and installed over the weekend. So, in addition to screwing up our schedule, he also messed up the schedule of the installer who now has a 2-3 hour gap in his schedule that he is unlikely to fill and be paid for on less than a days notice, not to mention a plumber who also has time to fill. Our appliances sit at a warehouse taking up space waiting to be installed, which cannot happen until the countertops are done. Fortunately, we are doing work to put the home on the market, so the inconvenience is really related to not being able to list the home and hold an Open House on the days we intended to do - we will need to delay a couple of weeks to get another company to do the countertops - but for someone considering using this company for an existing remodeling job, I'd look elsewhere if you don't want to be without the use of your kitchen for days or weeks. Also, if you value honesty and your time, look elsewhere as well. It's not surprising they are not accredited by the BBB! read more

I had a very smiliar experience as some of the other posts. My husband and I spoke to Chris who told us to go to Boston Granite Exchange in West Bridgewater and pick out a few types of granite for our kitchen. After a few back and forths we finally picked a granite and agreed on a price. The Monday before our Tuesday morning scheduled template appointment I called to confirm the time they would be there as I needed to take off from work to be home. Chris said "Oh I was just about to call you, we need to reschedule." I was so disappointed as we had company coming in and they only do templates on Tuesday and Thursday and the next appointment wasnt for a week so now my kitchen was not going to be done before our company arriving. Fast forward to the next Tuesday. I speak to Chris on Monday and confirm the appt between 830/9am. This time, my husband stays home and takes time off of work to meet them. At 930am my husband calls Chris becasue no one has showed up and Chris says "Oh i was just about to call you, we need to reschedule." My husband was floored. It turns out, we got even a better price by shopping around (The Granite Guys, Halifax) and received phenomenal customer service. We had a better experience going to MSI in Norwood than Boston Granite Exchange (they are both great but MSI is a smoother experience). Chris is unreliable and unprofessional. read more

The WORST company I have ever dealt with! Chris is just a filthy liar. I got a quote from them months ago to take a counter top that I have from another kitchen and re shape it to fit my new kitchen. I've been talking to Chris every couple days for a month now. First he told me his guy was coming over to make a template on a Thursday then called and said he was coming on Friday... Friday came and went and I never heard from him or saw his guy! I spent the next week looking for another company to do the work but some didn't want to tackle the job of reusing granite or the price was twice the amount. You really do get what you pay for! I called Chris back to see if they were still interested in doing the work and of course he said yes even tho he didn't bother to call me after his guy never showed up. I set up a time for his guy to come make a template and even left work early to meet him. Chris also told me they would take the granite that same day. The guy who was very nice showed up two hours late, did his thing and said he had to go back to the shop and Chris would call me. I never received a call then called him the next day and he said he still hasn't talked to his template guy about my kitchen and he'd call me when he does.... two more days pass and I call him back and he tells me his crew is coming either Thursday or Friday to get the granite and he promised me he would call me on Thursday and let me know. Thursday the guys were a no show and I got no call from Chris. Then Friday I try calling him twice and got no answer and no one showed up again. It sucks living without a kitchen and this is the last thing I need to complete it. I can't believe all the patience i've had with this company... Im currently looking for another company to do the work but I want the Stone Design crew to still come over so I can tell them in person to SCREW!!! and maybe waist a little of their time like they've wasted mine! read more
