This venue is a bit on the pricey side. The granola cookie balls are to die for but they are not cheap at close to $4 a piece. I had the roasted veggie wrap sandwich for the first time today ($18.50) and it was truly a last supper dish. Far above any other veggie wrap I've ever experienced. I've been eating at Stonemill for so many years, and it never disappoints. Always a great lunch special, always fabulous pastries or artisan breads. And their homemade soups are absolutely the best. I went out of my way to get local coffee this morning and I'm so glad I did. What a cute coffee shop with amazing staff. The man taking my order made my morning, so pleasant and so kind. The shop itself is so cute, I love how cozy it is. The plants are thriving and that tells me so much about a place! The outside space looks AMAZING. Very cozy and calm. The breakfast sandwich was a bit pricy but you get so. Much. Food. When I was handed my little take out bag I was SHOCKED at the heft of that bad boy. Definitely worth it. I love a good coffee shop/bakery/cafe. Stone Mill Bakery is exactly that. I've been here at least four times now, and I always find something new to try. During this most recent visit, I enjoyed the breakfast sandwich on multi-grain bread. It included fried egg, cheese (I chose cheddar), and meat (I chose bacon). This was a big, full sandwich and very filling. It also came with roasted breakfast potatoes. In addition, I ordered a pot of hot tea. They had a large selection of teas from which to choose. The place itself is located on the property of Johns Hopkins Green Spring offices and facilities, outside of Baltimore, MD. This is my spot to wait when a family member has an appointment. I find a table and enjoy the food while either reading a book or working on my computer. The staff are amazing. They know their menu and are very helpful. Once you tell them you order at the counter, they give you a number for your table and will bring you your food and beverage. The atmosphere is light and bubbly. There are always people around enjoying time together. Lots of parking in front. read more

Had the special, which was a fish sandwich with fries. I loved how everything was made fresh. The fish wasn't too fishy, came with a dipping sauce that paired well. The fries had a hint of sweetness, although I prefer savory. But it was still pretty good. The service was great. Love love love this bakery!!!... it's the best thing when we come to the doctor! We always come early so we have time to stop by. Of course that doesn't help when I have to step on the scale. This place has potential, but a couple issues. First and probably most important is the prices are outrageous. We were looking for casual bite to eat before we arrived at our Baltimore destination. Did not want to get $100 lunch for four, which is what it will run you for a normal order. Sandwiches are ~$19 and entree salads closer to $25. Mind you, this is a place where you order at the counter and they give you a number. We fed the girls as the priority. Hubby and I shared some soup and their let overs. One got the chicken Parmesan sandwich and the other the brisket sandwich. My not at all picky older child said the chicken parm was 5/5. They serve with homemade chips, which were a little over cooked and under seasoned. I tasted both and would say they were like 3.5 or 4.0 My chicken noodle soup was clearly homemade, but it just lacked flavor. The seating is a little awkward too. Small, cold metal tables that wobbled for us. I don't think I would go back. They do have a beautiful lemon tree in the seating area that gave me plant envy. read more

A Wednesday stop for a late breakfast on a rainy day, following a doctor's visit. The place is sprawling with indoor and outdoor seating. There's table service, but you order and pay at the register first. The cashier is witty and friendly and the servers are friendly and efficient. The mochas were good and large and well made. The egg, cheese and bacon biscuits were equally large. The accompanying potatoes were not as hot as I would've liked. I find it a little expensive, however; the biscuit sandwiches were so huge. That we ended up taking half home with us to have for breakfast the next day. It is HC accessible. The parking lot is huge with only a few HC spaces and it can be a long walk if you're unfortunate enough to not find a close parking spot. read more

My first visit to Stone Mill. Met up with a friend for an early Christmas Eve lunch. Counter service excellent with some good suggestive selling. Chris (I think that's his name) is great at his job! The cafe and bakery is very appealing to the eye but not the palate. Everything looks good but the flavor is sub-par. The owner was very nice, attentive, and working the register. He seems very proud of his business and is very charismatic. The coroner's know him by name so he's very personable for the service I give 5 stars. Back to the food. I got 2 lemon coconut bars, the brown sugar lemonade, a regular coffee, and the granola-cereal. I spent $41.44. The yoghurt was $15 alone for about 2 cups of yogurt with some strawberries on top. The lemon bars had no lemon flavor, very thin, and a bit dry. You could taste the coconut. It was a nice roasted flavor but the rest was surely lacking. The brown sugar lemonade sounded very appealing but it tasted like pre-packaged lemon juice, wasn't sweet enough, and tasted watered down. The cup was full of ice and it tasted watered down from the moment it was handed to me. The Large coffee tasted full bodied, it had a nice medium roasted flavor, and it was very good. Hands down the best part of my experience. The coffee was fantastic even though I was charged an extra $1.50 for oat milk instead of regular. The granola-cereal was fine I guess. The price is certainly outrageous, even though the yoghurt is homemade. It was way too expensive for its normal taste. I'd pay $10 for it but $15 is just too much. You get a good amount but the flavors aren't matching the price. Overall the service was great, the atmosphere was comforting and welcoming, but the food just isn't very good and too expensive for what you get. read more

I think this is an exquisite bakery. There are many options like soup, lemon coconut bar, pies, coffee and hot chocolate. I heard someone picking up an order for a cheesesteak for lunch. Service is friendly which does not equal fast service as the man taking orders at the register had long conversations and chit chat with the customers before me. Not a problem unless you're stepping in for a quick coffee during a short break from work. A strong chocolate flavor without being too rich, this hot chocolate was perfectly balanced. The creaminess of the drink mixed with the ooey gooey homemade marshmallow to create a lovely mouthful. I went to meet a friend for a coffee at Stone Mill Bakery at around 9am on a weekday. I just asked for a 16 oz coffee to go. When I was ready tyo pay with my card, it had flashed for a tip starting at 18%. I just wanted a 16 oz of black coffee in a to go cup, Nothing added. I did not see a way to not pay the tip, but there is no way these people deserve a tip for pouring a cup of coffee. But to just be able to leave, I allowed the lowest tip. I was then alerted tyhat i need to wait with a number for my coffee to be delivered to me. I waited over 10 minutes........for a cup of coffee in a togo cup. They brought it in a ceramic mug. I then asked for the togo cup and had to again wait for over 5 minutes. I will NEVER go back to this place again. I will not be forced to wait for over 15 minutes to get the wrong order after I already was forced to provide a tip. COVID is long over. These tip schemes must stop! read more

I had asked for a baguette, but they gave me toast instead. When I asked a server to change it, they disappeared into the kitchen and never came back again. I just let it go but was disappointed at the mistake and lack of follow through to fix it. The gentleman who took our order was super pleasant, but he was the only one. The woman who brought our drink order did not make eye contact and didn't respond when I inquired about water. She just walked away. Luckily I found the self service water jug on a counter nearby. this is a baltimore classic. it can get pretty busy during lunch time, and you can't make reservations -- you order at the front and they bring it to your table. they are famous for their soups, breads, and baked goods and everything is fresh and delicious. oh, and the mac n cheese -- a must. the hot chocolate -- the thickest richest hot chocolate in all the land!!! very cute cafe vibes in there. the only downside -- it's definitely pricey. read more

Their baked goods are made in-house (I was told they made the bagel that morning!) and everything we ordered was delicious (special shout out to the nutella croissant). The staff was super friendly and energetic, even early in the morning. Our lattes were spot on too. It was fairly pricey, but we also ordered a full breakfast, lattes, plus some snacks to bring on our road trip with us. This will be a short and sweet review because all I purchased was a hot chocolate! I was at the Greenspring Station makers market and stopped in with my friend for a quick pick-me-up. They were really crowded and busy due to the market. The main reason I wanted to write the review was the man at the counter was so nice and friendly! It was a great hot chocolate but when you leave the counter thinking "that guy was so nice" it's an even better experience. I also watched them make the hot chocolate and they spooned real chocolate into the cup and their marshmallows are homemade!! I've visited stone mill Bakery as it's next to Greenspring Station Hopkins. It is unbelievably busy in the morning. You would think it has the best food in town. I find the food to be extremely overpriced (granola with yogurt 14 bucks?!) and not very exciting. The crowd this place attracts is wealthier and very eager to spend money it seems.
