Breakfast sandwich on multigrain with a pot of tea.
    Chris K.

I love a good coffee shop/bakery/cafe. Stone Mill Bakery is exactly that. I've been here at least four times now, and I always find something new to try. During this most recent visit, I enjoyed the breakfast sandwich on multi-grain bread. It included fried egg, cheese (I chose cheddar), and meat (I chose bacon). This was a big, full sandwich and very filling. It also came with roasted breakfast potatoes. In addition, I ordered a pot of hot tea. They had a large selection of teas from which to choose. The place itself is located on the property of Johns Hopkins Green Spring offices and facilities, outside of Baltimore, MD. This is my spot to wait when a family member has an appointment. I find a table and enjoy the food while either reading a book or working on my computer. The staff are amazing. They know their menu and are very helpful. Once you tell them you order at the counter, they give you a number for your table and will bring you your food and beverage. The atmosphere is light and bubbly. There are always people around enjoying time together. Lots of parking in front.

Ambiance is quiet. I like the seating as you can have a nice view of the outdoors. The cashier was nice and made our drink quickly. The drink itself was a good amount of sweet vanilla and coffee. Not watered down or anything. Overall. There isn't anything special about this place. Would I go out of my way to get coffee here? Probably not. Is it a decent place to get coffee? Absolutely!

Had the special, which was a fish sandwich with fries. I loved how everything was made fresh. The fish wasn't too fishy, came with a dipping sauce that paired well. The fries had a hint of sweetness, although I prefer savory. But it was still pretty good. The service was great. I had my toddler and the server told me my seating options and what was best with a stroller. The vibe was nice with nice pictures and lighting.

Love love love this bakery!!!... it's the best thing when we come to the doctor! We always come early so we have time to stop by. Of course that doesn't help when I have to step on the scale. The food is great, the service is fast and love their little patio outside. This time I had the cranberry muffin and my husband had the almond croissant. He said it was the best he had ever had! The only room for improvement will be there bathroom.

This place has potential, but a couple issues. First and probably most important is the prices are outrageous. We were looking for casual bite to eat before we arrived at our Baltimore destination. Did not want to get $100 lunch for four, which is what it will run you for a normal order. Sandwiches are ~$19 and entree salads closer to $25. Mind you, this is a place where you order at the counter and they give you a number. We fed the girls as the priority. Hubby and I shared some soup and their let overs. One got the chicken Parmesan sandwich and the other the brisket sandwich. My not at all picky older child said the chicken parm was 5/5. They serve with homemade chips, which were a little over cooked and under seasoned. I tasted both and would say they were like 3.5 or 4.0 My chicken noodle soup was clearly homemade, but it just lacked flavor. The seating is a little awkward too. Small, cold metal tables that wobbled for us. I don't think I would go back. They do have a beautiful lemon tree in the seating area that gave me plant envy.

    Iced coffee w toffee!

This was a bustling and popular spot that nonetheless had surprisingly fast service! Salad/soup combo was tasty but nothing extraordinary, but the iced coffee was absolutely delicious I had mine with toffee syrup! Handy location after an appointment at the Greenspring Station JH buildings, will be back!

The cafe and bakery is very appealing to the eye but not the palate. Everything looks good but the flavor is sub-par. The owner was very nice, attentive, and working the register. He seems very proud of his business and is very charismatic. The coroner's know him by name so he's very personable for the service I give 5 stars. Back to the food. I got 2 lemon coconut bars, the brown sugar lemonade, a regular coffee, and the granola-cereal. I spent $41.44. The yoghurt was $15 alone for about 2 cups of yogurt with some strawberries on top. The lemon bars had no lemon flavor, very thin, and a bit dry. You could taste the coconut. It was a nice roasted flavor but the rest was surely lacking. The brown sugar lemonade sounded very appealing but it tasted like pre-packaged lemon juice, wasn't sweet enough, and tasted watered down. The cup was full of ice and it tasted watered down from the moment it was handed to me. The Large coffee tasted full bodied, it had a nice medium roasted flavor, and it was very good. Hands down the best part of my experience. The coffee was fantastic even though I was charged an extra $1.50 for oat milk instead of regular. The granola-cereal was fine I guess. The price is certainly outrageous, even though the yoghurt is homemade. It was way too expensive for its normal taste. I'd pay $10 for it but $15 is just too much. You get a good amount but the flavors aren't matching the price. Overall the service was great, the atmosphere was comforting and welcoming, but the food just isn't very good and too expensive for what you get.

Exceptional hot chocolate with very friendly staff, particularly Cris! Highly recommend! Would come back for their handmade cocoa with handmade whipped cream. Yummy!

    Breakfast burrito

Disappointing. I ordered the breakfast burrito to go for $16 and as depicted in the photo- primarily stuffed with rice. Who wants to pay $16 for a burrito stuffed with rice?

Nothing needed. Cheesesteak potato pancake tacos: 15/10-steak and potatoes seasoned perfectly. Pancake had crispy edges but still fluffy, sauce added a little kick. Nothing needed. Strawberry Mascarpone wafer French toast: 15/10-The PERFECT "I want something sweet" choice without indulging in cereal or ice cream. The strawberry and light cream were heavenly. Home fries were crisp and seasoned. Perfect for 2 kids to share The Wild West: 10/10 very fresh ingredients, good flavor and portion. Recommend. The Washington Ave: 10/10- I added Feta instead of cheddar and that sent things over. Huge sandwich. Flavor packed. Might want a little more sauce. Cappuccino: 8/10 a little too much milk (hot skim milk) Strawberry mint lemonade: 10/10 I recommend breakfast lovers get here!

I ordered the lobster roll and I have to say that I was disappointed, there was very little flavor. It was simply lobster meat and mayonnaise on a bun. I've had a Lobster roll at other places and much more flavor. I noticed that the hostess's have no dress code and looked as if they wore their yard clothes to work. Short cut off blue jean shorts. The menu is absolutely enormous and the interior lacks character and charm with uncomfortable bench seating and scarce decor. I opted for an omelette which came with pepper jack cheese, bacon, pico de gallo, and a dollop of sour cream. The description was unclear about whether it came with home fries and bread or the option of either home fries or bread. When I asked our server about this, he gave me a mixed response and seemed confused himself. I told him IF it comes with bread, I'll need the gluten free option which ended up being pretty good. My boyfriend got the blueberry pancake which he seemed to love. He also got a side of their "million dollar bacon" and "the works" omelette. There was some more confusion from our server who thought he wanted to sub the bacon in the omelette for the million dollar bacon but he ended up asking for our clarification before any mistakes were made. My omelette came out first and it was dry and overcooked. Definitely not a fluffy omelette and the half a spoonful of sour cream wasn't helping. The home fries were SO salty and that's coming from someone who has a savory palate. I couldn't finish them. My boyfriend's omelete came out and was a lighter, different color and looked a lot fluffier which makes me think mine was kept on the skillet too long. The million dollar bacon was just bacon covered in maple syrup. It was so disappointing and definitely not worth the almost $7 for 4 pieces. We had to chase our server down for our check in the end. Our meal ended up being over $50 for the two of us. Considering the quality of the food and service, I wouldn't say it was worth it. This is the kind of place that pretends its "farm fresh" but really is the same quality as IHOP at a slightly more expensive price.
