I went out of my way to get local coffee this morning and I'm so glad I did. What a cute coffee shop with amazing staff. The man taking my order made my morning, so pleasant and so kind. The shop itself is so cute, I love how cozy it is. The plants are thriving and that tells me so much about a place! The outside space looks AMAZING. Very cozy and calm. The breakfast sandwich was a bit pricy but you get so. Much. Food. When I was handed my little take out bag I was SHOCKED at the heft of that bad boy. Definitely worth it. I'm glad I came here and definitely will be bringing my partner here even though it's a bit out of the way!

Breakfast sandwich on multigrain with a pot of tea.

I love a good coffee shop/bakery/cafe. Stone Mill Bakery is exactly that. I've been here at least four times now, and I always find something new to try. During this most recent visit, I enjoyed the breakfast sandwich on multi-grain bread. It included fried egg, cheese (I chose cheddar), and meat (I chose bacon). This was a big, full sandwich and very filling. It also came with roasted breakfast potatoes. In addition, I ordered a pot of hot tea. They had a large selection of teas from which to choose. The place itself is located on the property of Johns Hopkins Green Spring offices and facilities, outside of Baltimore, MD. This is my spot to wait when a family member has an appointment. I find a table and enjoy the food while either reading a book or working on my computer. The staff are amazing. They know their menu and are very helpful. Once you tell them you order at the counter, they give you a number for your table and will bring you your food and beverage. The atmosphere is light and bubbly. There are always people around enjoying time together. Lots of parking in front.

Ambiance is quiet. I like the seating as you can have a nice view of the outdoors. The cashier was nice and made our drink quickly. The drink itself was a good amount of sweet vanilla and coffee. Not watered down or anything. Overall. There isn't anything special about this place. Would I go out of my way to get coffee here? Probably not. Is it a decent place to get coffee? Absolutely!

Had the special, which was a fish sandwich with fries. I loved how everything was made fresh. The fish wasn't too fishy, came with a dipping sauce that paired well. The fries had a hint of sweetness, although I prefer savory. But it was still pretty good. The service was great. I had my toddler and the server told me my seating options and what was best with a stroller. The vibe was nice with nice pictures and lighting.

Love love love this bakery!!!... it's the best thing when we come to the doctor! We always come early so we have time to stop by. Of course that doesn't help when I have to step on the scale. The food is great, the service is fast and love their little patio outside. This time I had the cranberry muffin and my husband had the almond croissant. He said it was the best he had ever had! The only room for improvement will be there bathroom.

This place has potential, but a couple issues. First and probably most important is the prices are outrageous. We were looking for casual bite to eat before we arrived at our Baltimore destination. Did not want to get $100 lunch for four, which is what it will run you for a normal order. Sandwiches are ~$19 and entree salads closer to $25. Mind you, this is a place where you order at the counter and they give you a number. We fed the girls as the priority. Hubby and I shared some soup and their let overs. One got the chicken Parmesan sandwich and the other the brisket sandwich. My not at all picky older child said the chicken parm was 5/5. They serve with homemade chips, which were a little over cooked and under seasoned. I tasted both and would say they were like 3.5 or 4.0 My chicken noodle soup was clearly homemade, but it just lacked flavor. The seating is a little awkward too. Small, cold metal tables that wobbled for us. I don't think I would go back. They do have a beautiful lemon tree in the seating area that gave me plant envy.

    Iced coffee w toffee!

This was a bustling and popular spot that nonetheless had surprisingly fast service! Salad/soup combo was tasty but nothing extraordinary, but the iced coffee was absolutely delicious I had mine with toffee syrup! Handy location after an appointment at the Greenspring Station JH buildings, will be back!

The cafe and bakery is very appealing to the eye but not the palate. Everything looks good but the flavor is sub-par. The owner was very nice, attentive, and working the register. He seems very proud of his business and is very charismatic. The coroner's know him by name so he's very personable for the service I give 5 stars. Back to the food. I got 2 lemon coconut bars, the brown sugar lemonade, a regular coffee, and the granola-cereal. I spent $41.44. The yoghurt was $15 alone for about 2 cups of yogurt with some strawberries on top. The lemon bars had no lemon flavor, very thin, and a bit dry. You could taste the coconut. It was a nice roasted flavor but the rest was surely lacking. The brown sugar lemonade sounded very appealing but it tasted like pre-packaged lemon juice, wasn't sweet enough, and tasted watered down. The cup was full of ice and it tasted watered down from the moment it was handed to me. The Large coffee tasted full bodied, it had a nice medium roasted flavor, and it was very good. Hands down the best part of my experience. The coffee was fantastic even though I was charged an extra $1.50 for oat milk instead of regular. The granola-cereal was fine I guess. The price is certainly outrageous, even though the yoghurt is homemade. It was way too expensive for its normal taste. I'd pay $10 for it but $15 is just too much. You get a good amount but the flavors aren't matching the price. Overall the service was great, the atmosphere was comforting and welcoming, but the food just isn't very good and too expensive for what you get.

Exceptional hot chocolate with very friendly staff, particularly Cris! Highly recommend! Would come back for their handmade cocoa with handmade whipped cream. Yummy!

    Breakfast burrito

Disappointing. I ordered the breakfast burrito to go for $16 and as depicted in the photo- primarily stuffed with rice. Who wants to pay $16 for a burrito stuffed with rice?

It's an egg. On toast. People order this literally every weekend. Then the cash tip thing. Maybe look up from the screen long enough to notice the actual person standing there first. Whole thing felt less like a kitchen and more like an assembly line. If you can't add one egg to one piece of toast, you're not cooking, you're unwrapping and putting it on a panini press or grill. Essentially I was looking for a gas station where I could stop, refresh myself, and grab a snack, but instead I found Baltimore Coffee, and I'm glad I did. As a tea girly, I absolutely loved this place! They have an impressive selection of coffees, teas, and hot chocolates, along with handmade mugs, Oakley sourced honey and assorted snacks, as well as a variety of accessories for the coffee and tea enthusiasts in your life. They also sell whole bean coffee that they'll grind upon request. In addition to the drinks and retail items, they offer breakfast sandwiches, an assortment of sandwiches and salads, and a few entrées. I ended up ordering the chicken salad sandwich with cranberries and walnuts on sourdough toast. Even though I don't like walnuts, this was still a really good chicken salad sandwich. It was a decent size for the price, and I left satisfied. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, which only added to the experience. There are a few diagonal parking spaces in front of the building, and I believe there's additional parking around back as well. Sometimes the best finds happen by accident, and that's just what happened here. Brunch was understood here. The French toast was very nice and not heavy despite its massive quantity. The flavors complimented each other all the way until the last bite. The Montecristo sandwich was balanced savory and sweet flawlessly. This was a hearty selection and could be shared with two. The cheese grits had to be made by someone's grandma IYKYK. Like many other reviewers, we found it very difficult to locate the restaurant within the plaza. Once we arrived, we were seated quickly, and the initial service was prompt. I also want to acknowledge one aspect of the service that I genuinely appreciated. As someone with celiac disease, dining out can be stressful, yet the staff were attentive to my dietary needs, offered several safe options, and clearly communicated which items might not be appropriate for me to eat. That level of awareness and consideration made me feel welcomed and cared for, and I am grateful for it. Hence, I feel comfortable, providing one star for that purpose. That being said, there were a few moments later when we had trouble finding our waitress after requesting changes to our order. Unfortunately, the changes to our order ultimately became necessary because the food simply was not good. My husband and I both ordered the shrimp and grits. I ordered mine without sausage, while he kept it as prepared. The grits were gummy, sticky, and overly cheesy, something I never imagined I would complain about. As a Black Indigenous American woman, shrimp and grits represents far more than a menu item to me. It is a dish shaped by generations of cultural exchange and resilience, drawing from Indigenous corn traditions and the culinary practices carried by African ancestors and preserved within Gullah Geechee communities. Because of that rich heritage, I hold this dish in high regard. Unfortunately, this version felt disconnected from the flavors, textures, and history that make shrimp and grits such a meaningful part of Southern food traditions. My husband ultimately sent his meal back and ordered the fish sandwich instead, which he also found disappointing. I added an egg to my dish in hopes that it might improve the experience, but it arrived long after I had already lost the desire to continue eating. I was also surprised that, in a state with such a strong military presence, particularly in Baltimore, there didn't offer a military discount. What saddens me most is that we chose this restaurant over several other options because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews. I believe honest reviews matter, both for future customers and for owners who genuinely want feedback to improve. We spent our money expecting a memorable treat to celebrate my recovery and instead left feeling disappointed and regretful. Looking back, I wish I had asked for a refund while we were there. Honestly, my husband is still upset upset that he spent his money. Despite having the funds available, he believes we would've been better off having a meal at home.
