I decided to purchase it as a surprise birthday gift for my daughter. A few items on the vehicle needed to addressed before we took possession. On the day we arrived with our daughter to pick up the car, Amish had the car set up with one of the big bows, so we were able to surprise her. Amish even videoed us surprising her. The repairs and items that needed to be addressed were all completed, and well done. Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience My experience at Stone Mountain Volkswagen was unacceptable and unprofessional from start to finish. My initial interaction was with a sales representative named David, whose communication style was condescending and dismissive. During our conversation, he told me I should "stay in my lane" because I do not work in finance. That comment was not only inappropriate, it was uninformed. I had to explain that I hold an MBA, previously worked in banking for 12 years, and currently work for a company that provides business accounting software. His tone and remarks reflected poor customer service and a lack of basic respect. I left the dealership due to this interaction. Afterward, I was contacted by the Sales Manager, Brandon, who apologized and asked me to return so they could "make it right." I agreed and returned with my boyfriend. We were then seated with Ishmael, who handled negotiations professionally. We clearly stated that if the deal could be finalized at $46,500 out the door, we would move forward immediately. Ishmael took the offer to Brandon, who initially agreed to the terms. However, that agreement was retracted once Brandon learned I would be using my credit union. At that point, Brandon stated the dealership would only honor a higher price ($46,900) if I used their preferred lender, whose APR was significantly higher than my credit union's. This practice raises serious concerns. Under Georgia consumer protection and auto sales laws, buyers have the right to: *Use their own lender or credit union *Receive transparent pricing *Avoid tied selling, where pricing is contingent on using a specific financing source *Be free from bait-and-switch tactics or deceptive trade practices Conditioning a negotiated price on the use of a higher-interest, dealer preferred lender is ethically questionable and potentially violates Georgia's Fair Business Practices Act, which prohibits unfair or deceptive acts in consumer transactions. I once both loved Volkswagen cars and Stone Mountain Volkswagen. While I didn't buy my Jetta from Stone Mountain, I have mostly serviced my Jetta at this shop. For the longest time, Stone Mountain was reputed for having the highest levels of integrity and the lowest prices. Today, I'm questioning everything. A while back, Stone Mountain Volkswagen unequivocally wronged me. They failed to do a requested repair while I was under warranty then later charged me for the same repair after I was no longer under warranty. I protested this, only to be told that there was no record that I requested that repair. Today, I stopped by Stone Mountain Volkswagen for the last time. The brake job that AutoNation VW quoted me at just under $800 a few months ago somehow costs just under $1000 at Stone Mountain. WTF man... Not that long ago, Stone Mountain would've maybe been $50-100 cheaper, not $200 more expensive (*Possibly). I don't discount the possibility that AutoNation now also would charge the same price, although I frankly doubt that. What is unequivocally nonsensical BS is the price for a new battery. I was quoted around $280 for the part and $145 for labor! These jokers charge a full hour of labor to do a thing that takes under 5 minutes!! I'm so disappointed that a formerly great dealer/shop now chooses to do the frankly very dishonest thing of charging $145 for labor for changing a battery. This alone is worth a 1 star review frankly. Couple that with them cheating me out of money after failing to do a requested repair, and this frankly is worth a Better Business Bureau report also, not that that does anything. Avoid Stone Mountain Volkswagen. It sucks now. Trust me, I used to love this shop and Volkswagen in general. So naturally I was elated to know that. After several weeks have gone by I contacted the sales representative who informed me of this fictional referral fee I was met with hostility and needless to say I still have not received this so call fee. Stone Mountain VW gave me excellent Service, and a competitive price on tires and alignment! I received very professional service from Service Technician Jason! Yesterday I went to Pep Boys for a tire that was slowly losing air, and it was a shit show. Incompetent technicians, bad technical advice, high prices. They didn't even know how to remove the plastic lug covers on VW's... The cost estimate was MUCH higher than at Stone Mountain VW, and the brand of tires I wanted were not in stock. Thankfully I came to my senses, got out of there and called Stone Mountain Volkswagon. I spoke to Jason and he located the Continental tires I wanted, made an early service appointment, greeted me at 7:15am, and kept me informed of the progress on the car. The service department seemed very efficient with a lot of customers. Overall I had an EXCELLENT service experience and question why I would even consider going anywhere else. I take it back. They say I need all 4 new tires. Got the tires $606 - my husband decided to change the brakes himself bc he had time and it's cheaper. The same day I got my car back from VW, my husband takes my brand new tire off and the rotor falls off too. There was a broken screw that somehow was missed when they sold me my new tires. I'm assuming that is the cause of the shaking. Save yourself the absurd amount of money they charge for "service". GREG gave no explanation as to why we weren't told about the broken bolt. read more

Please save yourself from shopping here, or any car dealerships in US 78 Stone Mountain area. (They issue unreasonable deals to patrons, and they prey on women or people who are unfamiliar with the car-buying process.) My girlfriend was in the market for a used car, and she shopped at Stone Mountain Volkswagen. I was not with her during her initial visit. The original deal was insulting! They attempted to rip her off with her trade in, and overcharged her for the used vehicle. I spoke with colleagues in the industry, and used this information to attempt to negotiate a reasonable deal. To no avail! We spoke to "Tony" the sales person, his level of service was adequate. Although, once he involved the finance team into the negotiations, it was a disaster! Lloyd was the worst! He, along with the "decision-makers" behind the glass. They were unreasonable, and unwilling to negotiate a deal. They wasted countless hours of our time. They refunded her $1000, and canceled our deal without notice. This is disheartening considering my girlfriend was a repeat customer. We later purchased a vehicle from Mini of Buford. Great inventory, sales people, and finance people. I was not able to purchase a vehicle from this dealership. I have owned 2 VWs before. I have purchased both from this dealership awhile back. Back when it was owned by Dwight Harrison. I had a great experience when it was owned by Dwight. However, Stone Mountain Volkswagen did not provide such a great experience. I was at the dealership getting the oil changed on my wife's Tiguan. So I figured I would go and check out the new Atlas. Tarik approached me and asked if I wanted to take a look inside. He did a great job showing me the car. We talked afterwards and I was still hesitant on trading in the Tiguan for a Atlas. The next day Tarik gave me a call and asked if I wanted to stop by to take the Atlas for a test drive, I agreed to meet him the next day. So when I got to the dealership, I handed the keys to the Tiguan and asked that Tarik have my car appraised. He declined and said that it does not take long and that we should look over the Atlas first. I agreed and informed him that I wanted to look at a Touareg as well. Tarik was really helpful in showing me a 2017 Touareg and 2018 Atlas. He brought both cars up and had them side by side to give me a good comparison. We first took the Touareg for a test drive and Tarik informed me the difference between the Touareg and the Atlas. I was really impressed by his knowledge. After taking the Touareg for a spin, we moved on to the Atlas. Before we left the lot, Tarik was pulled away because he had to deliver a car to another customer, so he had his fellow coworker sit with me for the test drive. The Atlas had a more responsive pickup than the Touareg so I was leaning towards the Atlas. After getting back to the dealership, I again asked to have my Tiguan appraised and was told that the dealership likes to put together a whole package before doing any appraisals. Meaning they want to include the price of the car, how much they will offer for my trade in. I had plans that day and could not stay to talk numbers. I simply asked if they can give me an number for me to start off with and talk to my wife first. They insisted that I sit with them. Tarik also asked that I wait another 5 minutes so he can warp things up with another customer. I did and before the 5 minutes was up, Tarik was already heading over to his desk. I simply told him that I don't have time and would just like a number to work with. He informed me that, they could not give me a number and that if I sat down with him, he can workout a better deal with me since his manager sees that I am siting in their dealership. I simply did not have time. I told Tarik that I will check my work calendar and possibly stop by tomorrow. However on my way home I felt disappointed because I was willing to take the time to come by and take a test drive per Tarik's request and no one was willing to appraise my Tiguan or provide me a number so I know what I am working with. The next day Tarik called me and asked what time I was going to come in. I first told him that I can make it in on Friday for sure. He informed me that Friday was the last day of the month and that I won't have much time to get a good deal. I told him that if that's the case than I am okay waiting for another deal to come up. I also informed him that I am currently reaching out to other dealers and possible a different car from a different manufacture. I explained to him that I did what he asked of me, but was denied an appraisal on my Tiguan not once but twice. I told Tarik that I would just like a number so I know what I will be working with and he said, that is not how they do things. The conversation ended with me giving him a number and he said he will call me back. I never got a call back. It was not until 5 days later that Tarik called me back. He informed me that they had some Atlas left over from Labor day and that he can still give me a good deal. I told Tarik that I already went ahead and made a purchase for another vehicle. He told me that my offer was too low and that they were really busy. I honestly believe they did not want to work with. This dealership is old fashioned and still sales cars the old fashion way. Aggressive sales tactics is not what I want to experience when buying a car. So if your in the market for a VW and new two VW. Tarik is a nice guy that is well informed. There is no way I should've been charge $408... for a filter change!! I went to this dealership because you're suppose to be able to trust where you take your vehicle. I'm from out of town and was taken advantage of. I was advised by my home dealer that if the odd smell of "coolant" persisted and the engine light came on, get to the nearest dealer. I found Stone Mountain VW and told them what I was experiencing. Once my car was taken back to the techs, they ended up taking out two filters, it only needed one, the cabin air filter. They told me that my car had two of four of the wrong size spark plugs and that they were corroded. HOW? If this was the case I would ever have never driven my car off the dealer lot a year ago. You cant have two different size spark plugs in a car without it causing a problem. PLUS.. I wasn't even due for a tune up. The four plugs the tech put in a box, weren't just two different sizes, they weren't corroded like he said. Which means, this replacement was not needed. This tech also tried blame my home dealership for the wrong size plugs- I find out my home dealership hasn't carry these plugs for years. This tech decided to put an injector additive in my car which he did not have permission to, which I find out can cause "gumming" and should never have been done. THEN to be charged like $240+ for labor. My appointment was at 2p.m. We got there 30 minutes early and they were done by 3:30 - 3:36. Seems to me they added on the initial diagnosis fee plus some. I asked for ALL the parts taken out of my 2015 Jetta but only received one filter of the two listed on the work up receipt and the four spark plugs. I feel like I would rather drive all the way back to the west coast and chance my vehicle breaking down than take my '15 Jetta to Stone Mtn. VW Dealer and be taken advantage of again. VW Customer Service took my information and had a lady agent call me back. I'm not impressed with them either. They had no ideas for resolution. read more

I went in for two reasons- to get an appraisal on my current vehicle and to POSSIBLY view a 2017 VW. Several sales people saw me and no one greeted me. Finally, Jordan (super nice) came over and gave me proper assistance. After explaining my reason for coming in his supervisor convinced him to try to get me to purchase a 2019 VW. I politely told him no thank you, which he went back to the supervisor who then came to "explain why I needed a new car" I do not remember his name- he was very pushy and forceful. As a young woman he made me feel so uncomfortable that I no longer wanted to get an appraisal or view the vehicle I initially came in for. Before leaving, Jordan was able to properly speak to me as a human being and not a pushy sales manager and showed me the car I came in for. Although I would give Jordan 5 stars personally, The customer service at this establishment is below sub-par. I left feeling bullied, uncomfortable and disrespected. I caught the in multiple untruths regarding the repair that they were making and then I found out they charged my for 3.5 hours of labor on something that should have taken under an hour. Can't say enough positive remarks about our experience purchasing a used Passat in excellent condition, With unbelievably low mileage for a 2018, and at a fair price. Our salesperson Deni could not have been more responsive and helpful, including taking a lot of time going over all of the features inside the car and setting up our Bluetooth etc.. In our case, we had to put down a deposit, settle some other financial business, and we went back a week later to finalize our purchase. I had a very unfortunate and unprofessional experience today at Stone Mountain Volkswagen. I called shortly after they opened at 9am on Saturday, 11/13 and spoke to a woman. I unfortunately did not get her name. I explained to her that my 2018 Atlas needs a diagnostic to determine why the coolant and collision warning systems are going off. She told me even though they are busy, I should come there and drop off my car at their service center. So taking her advice, my wife and three children follow me in another car so that the Atlas can be left at the dealership. When I arrived there, Jason was the only customer service rep working. There was a line of about four customers waiting for him. So I patiently wait in line for approximately twenty minutes. When finally attended to, he proceeds to tell me they are short staffed and have no one there to perform a diagnostic. He couldn't explain why someone would instruct me to come to the dealership on a Saturday for a diagnostic. I not only drove forty minutes to the service center, but I also missed an important appointment which was supposed to occur afterwards. I have been a loyal customer since purchasing my Atlas. I think it's time to give the Volkswagen dealership in Chamblee a try. This service center seems to chronically have staffing issues which can typically be tolerated by dropping off, but being given incorrect information over the phone this morning has completely thrown off my day. read more

Unfortunately my experience with your repair shop has been a big disappointment. I have had to return 3 times for the same problem with no clear resolution. When I attempted to communicate with management including the owner, I have yet to receive a phone call. Not even the courtesy of an acknowledgement was provided. Thus after having spent over $3500.00 on a series of repairs, I am dissatisfied with the lack of acknowledgement and will not return or tell others to utilize your business. I am hopeful that mine is as exception to the norm and an isolated occurrence. When this location was owned by the Harrison's from whom we purchased at least 3 vehicles over the years this was not the common experience. Initially very good reception and introduction to the dealership by the sales advisor, however, difficult to get an offer and/or numbers if the intention is not to buy straight away. I went back to the dealership 2 weeks later to sign a lease for the initial vehicle, or a similar one, I was interested in, and went to the same sales advisor because he stood out, by and large, compared to his peers. We negotiated a sales price for the lease, which initially came up with higher monthly payments than I expected, given said negotiated base price of the car. Ultimately I was hinted at a (much) higher interested rate/money factor for the lease payments because I am leasing under the expat program. After an extremely tiresome and dragging signing process with the finance manager (not impressive btw, to talk colleagues down upon agreements and trying to revert those), I read the full contract when I got back home. I found out my monthly payments weren't higher than expected because of the interest/money factor, but because the dealership effectively rolled back in over 10% of the actual negotiated sales price into the base price for the lease. I addressed the former to the dealer and was invited to come back, replied by email that it was quite clear what happened and that they could reply back by mail. I have yet to receive a reply. After 2 months I reached out to the manufacturer for my satisfaction survey, it rates both dealerships and salesmen, as I hadn't received it and they escalated my case to customer care. Customer care eventually reached out to StoneMountain and was told that I was mixing up a purchase and a lease. Not impressed, at all. TLDR; Do your due diligence and ask for a full disclosure if you go to this dealership, do not blindly trust your advisor, as they will obviously not hesitate to withhold information to feed their bottom line. Read before you sign (which I didn't) and it might save you a handsome amount of money. Overall, great car, quick service from the manufacturer, very very poor dealership service. read more

We were in the market for a new 2022 Atlas. We wanted a particular color and particular options. We had been working with another dealership for SEVERAL months and were not able to find the vehicle we wanted, due to us having such particular specification. We thought we were lucky when we found a vehicle close to what we wanted at this location and quickly put in an inquiry. We were called by a sale associate, Lori, on a Saturday morning and decided to go and check out the vehicle in person. I thought I made it clear to her that I would be bringing my two children and therefore did not want the test drive and possible negotiations to take long. After going back and forth several times with pricing, I told her that I wanted to go home and discuss with my husband. She kept pushing for a deposit and I told her that I would be making that decision without my husband. She gave me the warning that the car would soon be gone as it was in high demand. I explained that I have been waiting for this care for over a year, so if I have to wait longer, I was fine with that. She then pointed out that newer VW Atlas models would not have certain features such as blind spot monitoring and power lift gate due to a wiring harness issue. The sales manager later told me these issues were due to a computer chip shortage. She stated me I would receive "free" maintenance up to 30, 000 miles, but the sticker clearly stated it was pre-paid maintenance and came with a cost. These small things along with her not respecting my need to think things over were why I did not want to move forward at this dealership. When I got home and reviewed her email and text messages, I thanked her for her time and told her that we would be going with another dealership. She replied "It's unfortunate that I missed out of misunderstanding and another sales person will benefit from my hard work". I should have took the advice of others not to go to this dealership.... I will end with this. If 1.5 hours of your time is hard work, when I came prepared knowing just about any and everything there is to know about this vehicle, just imagine the hard work the other sales associate has done since October 23, 2021. She did hard work, finding us exactly what we wanted. And that dealership came through with the exact car we wanted for a MUCH better price 2 days later. Would not recommend this location. The sales people are nice and patient. They are willing to explain and test out the different cars. Once the buyer is set on a car, the buying process of going through the manager and the owner becomes a hassle and extremely tiresome. Dealer will attempt to price above what truecar, edmunds and kbb state the car is worth + dealer fee + other fees. Additionally, the dealer will provide a clean car fax when there are issues with the car. it is possible that not everything needs to be reported if it is an internal job or they would try to hide it as much as possible to get the sale. From the beginning I felt under valued as a customer. After agreeing to purchase my car, I never saw my salesman again. He shook my hand, told me to wait on the finance manager to sign my documents & went on to work with some other customers. He didn't even deliver my car to me. I had to wait after I finished signing my docs for someone to hunt him down for my keys & pull my car around to get washed (this should've been done while I was in the signing office). After that, a lady delivered the car to me & explained that my salesman was busy with another customer. While I do understand the flow of business in a dealership, I've never experienced nor felt so unappreciated as a customer. If he couldn't be there to complete the entire transaction, I expected at least a warm transfer to someone. Not just someone random walking up to me handing me keys. But whatever, I got over it. I wanted the car, so I was still willing to do business there.... What sent me over the edge was the lack of concern from them when it came to the repairs I had to do to the car. 3 weeks after I purchased the car I spent $530 on ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. I had to replace my front brakes, get the rotors cut, & get a transmission flush because the fluid was extremely dirty. This was all I could afford. I also still need a brake flush & a completely new radio because the radio doesn't work at all. These are all items that should be inspected & corrected by a reputable dealership before selling a car. When I explained what I had to have done, the sales manager David kept telling me that there was nothing he could do & kept reiterating that he discounted my car. He also told me that my break pads which were 4mm (10mm is a brand-new break measurement), passed their inspection requirements. A week after I purchased the car, the breaks squealed so bad, even when I slightly pressed on them. Not sure how that passes their requirement. Never once did he apologize or try to offer any solution. I've worked in plenty of dealerships & never has it been ok for a customer to spend this much money on a car so soon. I'm still driving around on temp tags & have already done BASIC maintenance on this vehicle. I you want to be treated with integrity, this is not the place to go. read more

It may be a combination of a very inexperienced salesman with no customer service skills, and a dealership with convoluted sales processes, but I walked in with what I considered an easy sale and they didn't seem to want to sell. I did my homework ahead of time, called to make sure the car was definitely available at the dealership, drove there and testdrove the car, and gave a cash offer on the vehicle, pretty much the same amount on the window listing. The salesman kept stalling, disappearing into the office, and leaving me outside standing in the sun. After an inordinate amount of time had passed (and I needed to leave), I told him that if he and the dealership wanted to sell the vehicle, he could give me a call. I got a weird text from the salesman, saying that he was sorry he upset me, which I wasn't...I was just annoyed that I handed him a sale on a platter and he and the dealership didn't want to close the sale. He then negged me, saying I should want to do business with the #14 car dealership in the country. I went to another dealership, and completed a sale in an hour. Avoid if you want an "easy" sale. Tip to salespeople- know when you have an easy sale in front of you, and fight to fastrack if you can. And have a business card and pen. And offer the buyer some water if you leave them standing in the sun. read more

Where do I even start.... I advise all to read because this involves VW Corporate as well as VW dealerships in both GA and TN. The overall VW brand and company as a whole. I was leased a 2015 Passat May 2015 from the Stone Mountain VW dealership in GA. Close to 7 months later, my car broke down in the middle Tennessee with what we found out to be a "cam shaft" recall in which the entire motor and breaking system failed, leaving me stranded with zero control or function of the car. My breaks gave out going 65+ MPH on the highway with my sister in the car. My car was towed to Harper VW in Lenoir City, TN where they went on to work on the car without my permission. Considering I live in Atlanta, GA and not Tennessee, my family did not want my car to be worked on there for many reasons. They did it anyway, leaving me with zero options, a bigger expense, and no loner car. Because of this, my parents had to go back and forth from GA to TN to pick up my sister and I missing work, etc. It is obvious that all they care about is getting the business and the money. After days of talking with both VW Corporate, Stone Mountain VW, and Harper VW, as well as another VW dealership in the area... No one would give me a loner car while my broken down car was sitting in another state. I was the perfect candidate for a loner car and among 3 dealerships, NO ONE would give me one. Unbelievable. On top of all that... my car was only temporarily fixed because with this cam shaft recall, there is no permanent fix. When I went to pick up my car after it was worked on, I asked the service manager if they fixed both cam shafts considering if one went out, the other would eventually, and he said to me, "Here at VW we only fix what is broken." Meaning, my 2nd camshaft is bound to go out soon and I will be in a very similar situation, putting myself and others in danger. Huge mistake to talk down to me in that way. Also, the temporary fix involved slowing down my breaking system, leaving me with very poor brakes on a car that was brand new. I should not be driving a "lemon" vehicle around as well as paying a very high car payment for a car in which is a "lemon." From the expenses that accrued throughout this entire process because of VW, I only received a very small percentage of my money back from VW Corporate. The rental car in which VW Stone Mountain promised they would cover, was never reimbursed to me as well as many other expenses in which should have been reimbursed. I have gone into Stone Mt. Dealership and was told to my face that the rental car was never going to be reimbursed, even though we were promised. My family has contacted VW Corporate, VW's CEO, as well as another dealership in the area asking for their help, and they simply have said that they can not help us. I remind you that my car is a lease, meaning that I do not entirely own the car. So essentially, I am paying a very high car payment every month for a car that technically is not mine that is a lemon and defective. How is this morally okay? I have asked VW's CEO, VW Corporate, VW Stone Mountain, as well as other dealerships in the area for 2 simple things: 1. Please reimburse my family and I for the expenses in which I accrued throughout this process resulting from being sold a lemon vehicle. 2. Please switch out my current lemon vehicle for a vehicle that is not defective. A very simple thing to do considering you are in business to sell cars to the best of your ability and to give your customers a great experience and service. In the big scheme of things, I am not asking for very much. VW is simply not looking at the big picture from this entire situation. I am 24 years old, your average demographic of customers. My sister, 21 years old, recently purchased a 2016 Jetta from Nalley VW even though this entire complication was going on with me. You are making a huge mistake not helping me because I am your current and future customer. My Father also has a VW CC. We are a family who purchases VW's. You have left my family and I no choice but to continue with our legal services and using our attorney for all those involved. read more

I'm here for an oil change on a Saturday and decided to wait on my car. The staff is great and the service is detailed but the shuttle does not operate on weekends... I was told to use Uber or Lyft if I wanted to leave the dealership. This is only during the weekend I was told. Weekdays the shuttle operates and the loaner cars are available. As far as car buying goes, it wasn't a terrible experience. It took a bit of work for us to get to the final price, since that was the bottom line we wanted to deal with. Once our dealer realized that we weren't going to let him go through his practiced spiels he dropped the act and got straight to business. We're pretty happy with the car. Will definitely report back if we have any experiences with maintenance and the like. ETA: The dealer called me to sing happy birthday on my birthday. He obviously cares about his reviews and his reputation enough to put effort in the small things. I can definitely respect that. read more

Hello all! On 11/10/2016, I purchased my first Volkswagen, a Certified Pre Owned (CPO) 2012 Golf 2.5L, RED, 2 door! The minute I saw this car on Cars.com, I knew that I had to see it person. It was everything I expected and more. For a 4 year old car, it didn't look a day over brand new!!! The car was flawless! Every inch. The customer service and professionalism was top notch and it made the whole experience memorable. I went for a test drive with Jean Fenelon, Salesman. He was great! He wasn't pushy or pressuring at all. He respected the fact that I had to go to work by a certain time and I told him that I would return the very next day. I did. And I purchased the car. The day I purchased the car, I was also assisted by Wayne Williams, Salesman, as well. He was great too!! The financing guys were great and strictly stuck to my budget, that I made very clear. They made it happen and I was even able to afford the extended warranty option, within my monthly payments. That was the icing on the already delicious cake! I have only owned 4 different cars, all Hondas, in my lifetime so stepping out and considering a different brand, let alone German, was scary. (P.S. I still have one of the Hondas, which will be a project car one day!) This car fits my personality and lifestyle so that was the basis for my decision. And most importantly, affordability! I like to write honest reviews because it's important for others to know where I am coming from. I haven't had the best dealership experiences (mostly in New York and New Jersey), prior to coming to Stone Mountain VW. Brought my vehicle for service as it was making a rattling noise and consuming excise amount of coolant. The service attendant asked if I had an appointment, which I didn't. He immediately told me that I needed to make an appointment and return some other day. No questions asked at all. I usually deal with Joseph at this dealership. He is very easy to deal with, and service staff is super helpful. If you need a loaner, make sure to let them know and they'll try to get you a loaner given that it's reasonable service. (Don't request a loaner for 30 minute job..) TOTAL CROOKS...BEWARE! I visited for the 2x the buying department of this dealership. They partner with online services like KBB to track people who are seeking value or selling of older cars...buy wholesale...then resale to the public. BOTH TIMES (my 1st about 4 months ago and then today) these folks SAY ONE THING then try to cheat you on THEIR quote. I was haggled for over 2 weeks by three team members..."come on in...bring in your car..." then I noted I needed to WAIT on my lost title ordered last week...i was told for $100 we don't need it, we can process still. In short, I elaborated emphatically...when I come...IF your offer is decent...i need to leave this car same day -get paid same day and I'll have to get a ride home with a friend 45 miles away. I coordinated my ride. The offer was a little lower than desired but I said YES...then after all of the paperwork was signed I'm told..they can't issue a check without a title..it could take 4-6 wks. They wanted me to leave the "inspected car" and I WAIT for a check until???. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAID DAY 1 and who does that? The last time, i was told one amount...then pressured to come back with the title everything was ready. Then to say...it was $200 less than they quoted. I spent my time...OTHERS TIME... and they change their line like the wind. UNPREDICTABLE. I tried to make a scene so they will think about the next victim making noise... this WILL BE CONTINUED. don't shop or trust these crooks. They don't deserve even 1 star rating. read more

I wasn't gonna do it but the more people I talk to about this the worse im assured it actually is. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the ATHENS LOCATION! The athens location was absolutely perfect, but due to Corona or whatever might have happened, the Athens location PERMANENTLY shut down and so I decided to go to the stone mountain location for an oil change and tire rotation. It took 3 hours for them to do this. I don't know how they managed it but it took 3 hours, and the cost was $40 more dollars than the athens location. Oh but they weren't done with me yet. At check out they HIGHLY SUGGESTED that I need another appointment because a "knocking sound" was heard. SO THEN I come back a week later. It takes 4 hours to run diagnosis, and 200 something dollars later - nothing is reported wrong with it -. And when I first got there they were acting really weird about my appointment. Apparently nobody wrote down what the appointment was for, and in the receit it reads it "CUSTOMER QUOTES: HEARD KNOCKING SOUND" I didn't quote anything. I was just relaying what I was told. I can only assume for whatever reason they wanted me to say it. I've heard horror stories about people getting royally screwed over by a dealership but I never thought it would be that way. They made me realize how perfect I had it at the Athens location, but they're gone now. I'm now thinking about trading in for a corolla after this bs. read more

I understand we are going through difficult times, however, taking advantage of a situation and coming up with excuses to extort clients is just plain WRONG. Here is my ordeal with Stone Mountain Volkswagen and Volkswagen USA. I have a 2018 Jetta which I bought because it has limited manufacture warranty. Since the order to shelter in place in early March, we parked the car in the garage and never drove it. The third week of May, I went to crank up the car and when I turned the key, nothing come on. I think I heard the fan slowly rotating but that was it. I remembered when I bought the car I had been told I had limited warranty up to 72,000 miles. I called stone mountain VW because I thought my battery was still under warranty (manual in the car states after three years battery will be prorated), my service advisor asked me the mileage on my car, I informed her it was about 41,000 miles (estimate since dashboard was not coming on), she informed me that my battery replacement warranty expired at 36,000 miles. She also informed me that the battery for my car was programmable to the specific car and only the dealer can perform this task. She quoted a price of $210 including labor. I performed some google searches but nothing specific about the programming the car battery. I'm not handy and hence decided to go with the dealership since it made sense. I booked the next available appointment online and also scheduled a tow. On May 19th the tow track showed up, hooked up the car, pulled it out of the garage and took it to the dealership. My service advisor called and said they received the car and would call me when it was ready. I called later that afternoon to inquire the status of my car, she informed me they were unable to jump the car, she did inform me once they get it into the shop they will advise me of the status. The next day I called and my advisor said they would need to contact VW tech line since nothing on the dashboard would come on. I told her to keep me posted, we are still sheltering in place so no urgency necessary. My service advisor called me later on that afternoon and stated that there was "outside influence" and that the battery was installed incorrectly. I advised her that was the original battery and no one in my house hold had messed with the engine. She asked the process of which the car was towed and I explained the process to her. The tow truck driver come hooked it up, took it out the garage, I believe he said he was going to "strap the front tires" down but I had already closed the garage door. She advised me that they would need to run a diagnostic and that would cost me $260. I told her my car had warranty and that should be part of the warranty, she said due to "outside influence", the warranty does not cover the diagnostic test. I requested her to escalate to her boss so I can speak with him. It is at this time I started recording the calls. My service advisor escalated the call to the "parts manager" and I had to explain my situation from the beginning. The parts manager said he would call me back once he gets back from the shop. He called me back and pretty much said either myself of the tow truck driver had installed the battery incorrectly. He was rude and when I asked him to escalate, he stated he was the authority at the present time and I could not speak to anyone else. His word was final. He refused to give me his supervisors name but did offer to give the VW USA number. I asked him if he could have the service manager call me and he said he would put a "note" on his desk and he would call me at his "earliest convenience" (I never received that call for the seven days my car was in there shop). I called VW cares line and opened a case. I was informed that I would get a call from the district coordinator assigned to the case. The district coordinator called the next and informed me that she would have to talk to the dealership and get their perspective. She would then call me back with the findings. The district coordinator called me and pretty much told me that they sided with the dealership and I would need to prove that neither myself or the tow truck driver messed with the engine. This was turning into a he said she said scenario and was getting frustrating. I figured the dealership had won since how could I prove that I had not messed with the engine. I called my service advisor and authorized the diagnostic test. She called me about 15 minutes later and advised they had found the problem. It was a 30 amp fuse that costs $1.00, that needed to be replaced. So in a nutshell, I was paying $260 for a $1.00 fuse that needed to be replaced. Now, was this ordeal really worth Stone Mountain Volkswagen making an extra $260? Especially during this hard economic times? I mean lets face it, Volkswagen does have a reputation for lying which they did admit, however, to stoop to this level, unbelievable. Personally, I'm in the process of selling both my Volksw read more
