MAN OH MAN Nicole and Dymond were such blessings sent from heaven. My friends and I were motivated by the Winter Olympics and wanted to try snowboarding for the first time! We took the weekend off from work packed our things and drove over to Stone Sports from California. We showed up 15 minutes before closing and were welcomed with smiles. Nicole and Dymond made the whole process so easy and fun, I almost forgot I still had to actually snowboard. Now that I'm properly equipped with snowboarding gear I'm ready to do backflips. My son's first swim lesson. Though he loves swimming already, today was mainly getting used to the building/instructor/water. It's good pricing, but they didn't explain it very well at the front lol. Coach Celeste was amazing. So sweet, and patient not only with the kids, but also us parents who had to slowly sneak away. Our daughter has been coming here for a couple of months now and she looks forward to it every week! We go once a week for 30 minutes.. averages out to be $24 per class. Very reasonable and definitely worth it. All of the instructors we've had so far (not always the same instructor) are amazing and so patient and encouraging for our 5 year old. We LOVE Stone sports! My 3 year old was petrified of the water and after a few weeks he is trying to swim independently! My 5 year old is learning a bunch of new strokes and my 8 year old is on their "pre team" class which is basically swim team without the travel commitment. I will never be back here ever! They've literally traumatized my son! The instructor talon first of all said absolutely nothing to us when we arrived for a trial session I should have walk away with my son right there in that moment. The whole session was this kid literally dunking my son in the water! Never asked us our sons comfort level with water just went to straight water boarding a three year old! The whole time you can see he's not even paying attention to the child just dunks my son and is looking off somewhere else. I've literally never felt more violated. My son instantly told us that he doesn't want to come back and that it hurt when he kept getting dunked. It hurts my heart that I even took my son here and put him through this! For Scuba wouldn't waste my money. Rarely write a review but poor scuba service of equipment service jeopardizes performance and safety. First time and here's my experience. Dropped off regulators to be serviced for upcoming trip, shotty paperwork procedures and given pricing. Communicated via email as phone tree goes into no man's land and never gets answered. Finally 3 weeks later get reply needs parts. Asked how much and no reply. Eventually received call regulators were ready. Naturally, it was double the amount the original quote for each. In between, rented a regulator to practice in the pool. Turned on tank, bubble in hose and burst. Upon returning to the store stated they must have placed in regulator with faulty hose in the wrong pile. Fast forward, received back serviced regulators days before trip after a month and double the price. Down in Mexico, first dive leaks from hose. Upon inspection no small O-ring. Serviced? Some others I met from Vegas mentioned they never go here as there's always problems. For Scuba, don't waste your money or safety. read more

Let's talk about stone sports for a minute. I enrolled my nine month old as one of his Christmas presents. I'm the month that we were there we never had the same coach, the coaches that we did have were teenagers, they barely interacted with my son and he learned nothing. Today I get an email saying the auto enrolled him for another month so I go in an tell them I didn't want this and that I would like a refund. To which I was told that wasn't an option and that she could schedule makeup classes, again I tell her I'm not interested and she literally just walked away and cleaning the floors. Mind you this is the owner of the establishment. So rather than be professional and try to help at all she completely ignored the situation and was disrespectful the entire time. Been bringing my kids here for a few months now and I really like how personable the instructors and the staff are. My favorite person is the check in woman (I should really get her name), she is always nice. Yes, always! Even when I'm in a rush to head my kids to class or when parents aren't super nice, she is always soft spoken and willing to help. She is one of the main reasons I come back. I do feel my kids are learning proper techniques while having fun. The class sizes are small 3 kids to a teacher so my kids get a lot of one on one instruction. The pool is always clean and the pool area is not cold. The viewing area for the parents with a nice large window to look at our children. I like that. They also offer their customers free wifi. I have a few complaints though. One is their showers. They are in a small place. The shower heads are imposible to move so you will 100% get wet when helping your kid. The drain location is odd. My kids always have a hard time finding a place to stand because the drain is large rectangle hole and it's right in between where the water is pointed. The whole showers are odd, honestly. My other complain is the dressing room. So they have them separated by male and female. I have boys so I have to take them in the girls dressing room. Well there are no curtains or anything like that, it's just a bench, lockers and open space. I guess I can change them in the bathroom but that's nasty. Thankfully when I always ask who ever is in there if they mind and they haven't told me no so far, so that's good. read more

Do not buy anything in their shop!!! Here's my experience: I received Xion Protective Jacket ($425) on Sep 22nd and asked for a replacement. STONE SPORT agreed. So I shipped the item back to STONE SPORT on Sep 24th at my expense. The tracking information showed they received the item on Sep 29th. But I didn't receive the item until Oct 29th. I started to request a refund. They promised to refund me but didn't give me any update. I reported the dispute to Chase on Oct 31st. They finally contacted me on Nov 9th and asked me to cancel the chargeback on their bank account, then I can get the refund. I followed their instruction and called chase to cancel the dispute, but I haven't got a refund till now. It's been almost three months!!! I haven't seen any replacement or refund. I attached our email thread for evidence. So don't buy anything from their shop! read more

I just finished with my PADI open water dive certification at Stone Sports and had a great experience! The dive instructor Robert was very knowledgeable, helpful, and nice and made the whole process a great experience. My daughter usually works with Julie and occasionally Monique and both are really great. She has really learned a lot here. I do wish they offered a longer class, perhaps 45 minutes. I honestly wasn't planning on writing anything, but I'm just perturbed at how a certain situation was handled. My husband took my daughter to swim last week, and the lesson was being held in a part of the pool that isn't visible from the seats for the parents. My husband told the girl at the desk, that he wasn't comfortable with his daughter being with a male instructor by herself in class and where he wasn't able to see her. She told him that the instructor "wasn't comfortable" in ANY other part of the pool (oh yeah, they were the only lesson going on, so they could have moved closer to the viewing area) and that it was tough and if he wanted to watch he could go sit outside and look in from the windows. 1. I'm not paying 80$ a month to sit OUTSIDE while my daughter does lessons 2. We aren't comfortable with a male instructor alone with our daughter and one other student where they can't even be seen. The other parent was also not happy and complained about the situation. My husband went to complain again today because again they were in an area which wasn't visible. They were rude to him. He cancelled her swim lessons and he tried to tell the woman who I believe owns the place why he wasn't comfortable and why we were cancelling but she said she didn't need a reason. We didn't feel our daughter was safe and safety should be a concern of the owner.They were rude to my husband and made our family feel uncomfortable. read more

First impression- very good! I signed my daughter up for swim classes. They teach safe swimming practices and four different strokes, which is what I want her to learn to become a stronger swimmer. The instructors are all nice, the receptionist was super nice and helpful. She gave us a quick tour and answered all my questions. The lobby area is a bit crowded with swimmers coming in and out of classes and parents/family sitting on chairs provided to watch your child in class (the reason I deducted a star). They also have swim suits, accessories and diving stuff for sale/rent in the lobby which takes up ALOT of room. It is a little humid inside but they also provide a couple chairs outside where you can still watch your child through the glass (this is nice especially if you don't like the humidity and the crowd of people). The changing room/showers are open areas meant for sharing- little to no privacy for changing unless you go in the toilet stalls, and the floors are wet in this area of course, so just be aware to prevent falls. It's $78/month for 1 30 minute class/week (similar to other swim places). Will update this review as we attend more classes but pretty good compared to other swim places that we've been to. read more
