Great local winery close to Seven Springs, PA. Came on a rainy afternoon but we made the best of it. Great tasting room and store. They also offer pizza for sale, chips and salsa and some cheese plates. You can however bring in your own food and snacks! Dogs are allowed on leashes in the yard too. The tastings are free, but you should offer tip naturally. They had live music today (Saturday) as well. Rental cabana/tents are available for reservation if you want guaranteed seating and private area. Service was very attentive and everyone was very friendly.

Such a cute winery!! The scenery is amazing. So peaceful and perfect for a girls day. They host events here too. You can't tell by the layout that they have a lot of weddings here (which would be the best scenery ever!) Be prepared you might not have service on the drive and at the venue it's kind of in the middle of nowhere. The only downfall is that you can't buy by the glass. If you want to drink, you have to get a bottle but they do offer tastings! It is such a cute place; I can't say that enough.

Terrific winery. We have been here several times. This time was when we made it here before it was ready to close. Just in time, and the wine was very good. I don't remember liking all of the dry wines so much. The Chambourcin was my favorite. I purchased (2) bottles of this one and we got 6 other bottles. That one I want to drink on Christmas. It's a special one that tastes good being a dry red and all. The server was super nice and instead of just giving me a sample, he had some remaining in the bottle and just filled up my glass. It was the end of the night, and they probably wanted to close. I loved this place and will come back. We did collect our sticker here for the #LHPOURTOUR

Nice winery visit on our way to Ohiopyle State Park. A nice gentleman who works there took our pictures outside and gave us valuable info about the place. Wish I'd have known beforehand that we could bring in any of our own food we wanted (just not alcohol, of course) and that it could be enjoyed outdoors on the patio while listening to live music against the pond setting. Next time I'll know. We sampled wines -- you get to pick 6 from a list and it's free. The only downside is that all they have to nibble on is some generic crackers from a table nearby. They could do much better in providing tasty treats with which to sample wine. The guy pouring for us was very pleasant and a good conversationalist. As for the wines, most of the grapes come from the Eerie area. The ones I tasted were pretty good. I love Rieslings but I have to admit I've had better ones. I did, however, find 3 wines I liked of the 6 I tried and bought them plus some cheese and crackers and chocolates for us to have while listening to the band outdoors. They have a nice gift shop of wines and accessories. We even bought some wine to take with us to Out of the Fire Restaurant, knowing in advance that it was a BYOB venue. (Be sure to check out that restaurant.)

Great music, great wine, great weather!

The wine tasting was so laid back! The staff was very knowledgeable about the wine and vintage. The wine itself was very good. The types hit on everyone's various pallets. The patio was also very beautiful and relaxed. The lake is beautiful and you can see where they used to grow their grapes for their wine. The music was great too! The music John Petraca was very eclectic and added to the laid back nature of the winery. Very Californian. Highly recommend!

This place has really good wine. There is free wine tasting, you get to taste six different wines. The ladies that work here are very nice and helpful. They also ship wine too. I think everyone should try their wine.

It sells a variety of dry and sweet wines (e.g., red, white, rose, sparkling, and cider), cocktails, mocktails, and beers. Some vineyards are on the grounds as are many barrels and bottles of wines. The restaurant has both indoor seating and seasonal outdoor seating in lakeside cabanas and winter igloos. It is open for brunch/lunch and dinner. It is a nice setting for daily dining as well as special events such as weddings, bridal and baby showers, and private parties. Furthermore, the website lists activities such as bingo, painting and candle-making classes, live music with dancing, and more. For my husband and me, I made a reservation for lunch in an igloo. Our igloo was large enough to fit eight people and cost $50 plus foods and drinks. A larger "party dome" fits up to 14 people and has a fee of $75. The temperatures outside were very cold, but our igloo was kept warm by an electric fireplace and a zippered door. Throughout our meal, our waitress provided timely and friendly service. The Bistro menu listed shareables (e.g., pretzel sticks and charcuterie board), several smash burgers, several flatbreads, mains (e.g., fish and chips, cajun chicken pasta, and quinoa bowl), several salads, several handhelds (e.g., turkey melt, veggie wrap, and Italian panini), many sides, and a couple of desserts. Prices were moderate. (The menus for Sunday Brunch and a group Gathering differ.) The waitress first brought our Sweet Wine-Cookie Flight (4.5 stars), which consisted of the following pairs: Diamond Reo with Brown Sugar Pop Tart, Sweet Finley with Chocolate Salted Caramel, Riesling with Cookies and Cream, and Rose Cider with Strawberry Crunch. The wine glasses came in a wooden box, which was slightly too small, so I needed several minutes of time to carefully pull each wine glass out of the box. I, however, did enjoy the sweet flavors of the wines and cookies. Next our waitress brought out our shareable and two mains. The Hummus Plate (4.5 stars) consisted of fresh and tasty hummus, feta, olives, top seedz crackers, tomatoes, cucumbers, green and red peppers, carrots, celery, and tzatziki. My main course was Crab Cakes (4 stars) with a substituted side of salad. Two crab cakes were a decent size of 4 ounces each, but I would have preferred more crab meat. I liked the garlic aioli. My husband's main course was the Cali Burger (4 stars) with a side of fries. In a brioche bun, a beef patty was topped with fontina cheese, applewood-smoked bacon (which he would prefer be crispier), avocado, avocado ranch, lettuce, and pickles (which he commented were nicely crunchy and sweet-sour) (no tomato at his request). The total price for the flight, shareable, two mains, and a soda was $98 plus sales tax and tip (plus the earlier $50 fee for the igloo).

I was traveling back from Florida hoping to pull off a surprise evening with my partner and friends, and Janet, Nathan, and their team of great employees went above and beyond to help make it happen. I had no real idea what to expect in terms of the building, but I was familiar with their wines. There is a sign for the winery at the end of the road and you enter up a long driveway (with several signs warning about not bringing in outside food and drink). I had no idea that their grounds were as massive as they were! There was even a sign for a walking trail. I visited on a Monday in the winter, so I wasn't able to take advantage of their beautiful grounds, but after a great visit, I definitely want to come back in warmer weather and come for one of their events (or even just to enjoy some wine outdoors). They have a nice variety of wines. Many sweet, dry and fruit wines. They also have cocktails and other drinks. I like that more of the specialty establishments are starting to have extended offerings because it makes visiting more accessible to people who might not like wine or beer but still want to enjoy the company of someone who does or a specific event. I went in set on getting a wine slushie (they rotate their flavors, but every one I've tried has been delicious). They allow you to sample basically anything from their menu and you can order wine by the glass, bottle or as tasting flights. When I was there, they were still offering their Valentine's pairing which included four generous pours of red wines each paired with a gourmet chocolate. I really enjoyed the experience and everything was tasty. The service was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I asked questions about the wines, where the grapes are grown, how they come up with new blends and about events and they answered all of them. Overall, an amazing experience and a place I'll definitely be back to.

What keeps bringing us back is not just the wine, although there is certainly plenty to enjoy there. This visit included a flight, a glass of Starlight White, another newer red offering, and the small bites that have become one of my favorite parts of the experience. Fresh bread, cheeses, olives, dipping sauces, hummus, and even a couple of truffles create the kind of simple but thoughtful pairing that encourages you to slow down and stay awhile. What stands out most, though, is the authenticity of the place. During this visit we once again had the opportunity to spend some time with Lee, whose warmth and hospitality seem to reflect everything this winery is about. Nothing feels rushed, overly commercial, or manufactured. It feels genuine. On this particular Saturday, we sat outside overlooking the grounds of Kings Mountain Golf Course, enjoying a break from the routine and watching golfers make their way through the course. There was no special event, no live music, and no grand occasion. It was simply a relaxing afternoon, and somehow that made it even better. There are plenty of wineries where you can have a tasting. There are far fewer places where you leave feeling refreshed, welcomed, and already looking forward to your next visit. Vin de Matrix continues to be one of those places for us, and it remains well worth the drive from Pittsburgh.
