This is such a great little place for breakfast. We were driving past it daily on our vacation and when we finally made plans to eat here we were not disappointed. The staff all were great and it appeared that they all worked well together. We had a large party ( 6 kids and 7 adults). We had spread out over two tables. Our food came out great! Pretty fast especially for all the people. My breakfast sandwich was one of the best I have had places. Not greasy and great tasting eggs. There is a little corner of the restaurant that had a store with locally made items. I purchased a crayon and coloring book holder for my youngest. It is sooo cute! My family also purchased a few other items. If you are in the area I would suggest stopping by for breakfast. read more

I feel bad giving this spot a review that isn't quite up to snuff but cmon. There are some glaring deficiencies that need to be addressed. I will preface this by saying it's inexpensive so..... perhaps read my review knowing hey, this ain't gourmet. You go into this former gas station knowing it won't be the greatest, but my wallet will be happy on the other side, so there's your trade off. First off the positives.... Sausage patties were exquisite, I could have eaten 5 but no... they only give you 1. The staff was delightful. All smiles, constant coffee refills, attentive. Ya know... like a good diner aught to be. Nice vibe, cozy atmosphere, seems clean enough. Now the bad... The largest problem here is competition. There is none. Almost zero breakfast diner competition. There is no reason for them to strive to be the best... they can simply exist. Toast... horrible. Basic wonder bread trash. Eggs... mediocre. Dry as a newspaper. Potato's also mediocre and nowhere near enough. If you post on your menu BIG breakfast make sure it's HUGE. You're a breakfast diner, LOAD UP THE PLATE!!!! I got such a sorry, sad amount of food for my BIG breakfast I thought they forgot portion size. Small fixes obviously can go a long way but again, the tourists are going to flock here like sheep. Went to Little Sandy's on a Friday around 10am. To our surprise there were plenty of seats available. The restaurant is in an old gas station. Originally we went to the right side of the restaurant to sit, however they had the AC blasting and the staff said they couldn't change the temperature. We were able to get moved to another table that was warmer. It is classic diner food. I ordered a ham and cheese omelette with toast. My daughter ordered a pancake with bacon. Everything came out quickly and was good. I would definitely visit again. Prices were average. They also had a cute gift shop in the back with hand made gifts. read more

We love this place and have eaten here multiple times, brought guests. However, there is no outdoor seating, so we cannot bring our small dog in the summer months. 3.5 Pre-lockdown experience. Celebrating the fact that I'd survived the night (see my previous review), I wanted to commemorate the event with breakfast. One might begin this review that way. It could also begin: after a night of championesque drinking reminiscent of college days, a bunch of old friends needed morning sustenance and no one was in the mood to cook. Potato, potahtoe. In any event, it was morningish and my crew needed food. Fortunately, there was Little Sandy's. Little Sandy's is exactly the kind of small town diner one would expect in a town like Oakland. It's a former gas station turned into an eatery. I'm listening... We walked in at the exact right moment, as there was room for our group. A bit later and we would have been out of luck. Our waitress was brusque but fair. Given the moment that's really all we should have expected. An expectation not met, though, was the orange juice. I wanted some and received... a bottle of Minute Maid. As a lifelong southerner I now when and where to complain about what so I took the bottle and said 'thank you' but I made a mental note. As a diner, Little Sandy's is serviceable -- which is just fine. It soothes what ails ya and does no harm. You might not remember it but you won't curse it either. I thought about getting pancakes or biscuits and gravy but I remembered my gut and that I had a hike in front of me and passed on the opportunity. My buddies got both and they looked great. Instead, I made due with a western omelet: cubed ham, melted cheese, onions, peppers, BACON, AND SAUSAGE. The latter two ingredients made up for the OJ. This isn't to say that I needed three types of pork in my morning eggs but I wasn't expecting three types of pork in my morning eggs and the surprise bounty must be mentioned. Sandy's is what you think it will be and that's just fine. The prices are in line with a Denny's and less than you might think given the lack of competition. Ok, it's a quirky place. It definitely used to be a gas station, but now it's a true greasy spoon. I've been a few times and it seems to be full of locals. Most recently I popped in on a Wednesday morning and we were the only table there. The staff was friendly and offered to make my 4-year-old a Mickey mouse pancake - she loved it. read more

A former gas station turned into a diner with really good food. I'm a city kid and they didn't look down on me too much. I asked the waitress what was better, the pancakes or the French toast. I ordered the pancakes and she brought over the French toast, too. I had some of my companion's potatoes, and they were good. It was a dreary Sunday morning and I was in a bad mood when I walked in, but when I left the sun was starting to peek out from behind the clouds and I had a new lease on life. Disappointing. I ordered blueberry pancakes with home fries and I got blueberries with a side of pancakes and salt with a side of home fries. The server wasn't very nice . she dropped our silverware on the table and didn't flinch, and kept throwing her dirty rags rights next to me while I was eating. Quick service, even when they were full-up. Walkable from our wonderful little Inn up the road. Great place for breakfast (served all day). The hot tea was just generic black tea from Walmart (Great Value brand), and the orange juice was just a bottle of Minute Maid, but the food itself is as legit as it gets. Eggs cooked perfectly, crispy bacon, delicious ham, and tasty home fries. I like my eggs with hot sauce, they gave me a generic squeeze bottle which I think was Frank's Hot Sauce, which went perfectly with the eggs. Overall a great place if you're looking for a scrumptious breakfast. Little pricey for the area but you can't put a price on well-made eggs, IMHO. read more

Absolutely delicious. I have never been to the area, but this breakfast spot was probably the highlight of our trip. Great fast and friendly service with the perfect breakfast food. Everything you would want in a breakfast place. We had the phenomenal western omelette and perfect biscuits and gravy. Everything tasted amazing and was fresh. We went to Sandy's this morning. I love homestyle cooking with hole in the wall places - this is definitely one of those places! It's in an old gas station, diner/little family restaurant feel. Just left dinner and it was delicious! Salisbury steak special, so much food for only $10. The salad was fresh, the roll was warm, the steak was delicious, and I could've eaten three helpings of the mashed potatoes. I never post reviews but must this time. We walked in and no one greeted us. We asked where we can sit and the waitress did not even smile and just told us to sit anywhere. We waited at an uncleaned table for 15 minutes. We asked for water and they didn't even give us the menu while they were happily serving other people. Literally the only thing good about this place was the homefries. Service was horrible, place was dirty, I asked for extra cheese on my scrambled eggs and they came out with one piece of cheese melted on top of them... I asked for my bacon extra crispy and it was still like rubber when it came out. My boyfriend ordered a breakfast sandwich and even looking at it, I felt like he would've been happier with McDonald's! I grew up across the street from this diner and worked there throughout high school. And though the inside appearance has changed throughout the years the food has always been tasty. The breakfast menu is the best in town. Sausage Gravy and Biscuits dish is out of this world. The lunch and dinner menus are pretty standard. Although, the one dinner you must try is the Turkey!! It is slow roasted overnight and paired with delicious homemade stuffing and mashed potatoes. Absolutely awesome! read more
