The floors were hardwood in the room, plenty of lighting available, a mini fridge, ceiling fan and air conditioning. We spent some time on the balcony with a few drinks just enjoying the perfect evenings. Although some may consider the room to be a tad bit high, we found the whole experience to be well worth every penny.

A continuous deck accommodating a couple of gas bbqs, tables and chairs for each room, a small kitchen area (fridge, microwave, coffee maker sink), gas fireplace, etc! On turning the cover of the bed we found a mint on each pillow. Such a lovely treat in addition to the clean well kept establishment. A pro or con is the no children in parts of the Inn, not sure if in all parts. Strict no smoking in no smoking rooms (not sure if smoking rooms exist as we are not smokers). Beyond the deck are terraced gardens down to the water's edge. In the morning a generous continental breakfast is included.

The hotel also offers Starbucks coffee on each floor every morning! The breakfast on the patio was good, but the service was a little slow. We also enjoyed happy hour on the patio one night though --the crab dip was delicious, and the espresso martini was excellent. A couple of things to know before your stay: there aren't complimentary bottled waters in the room, but the front desk is happy to provide them if you ask. The hotel also doesn't have a late-night market or convenience area for drinks and snacks, which would have been nice. Makes no sense, you can bring free coffee into Restaurant but if you order it with breakfast, $5.00. Front desk, Jacob evening fantastic. Some daytime staff at desk unfriendly and so, so. Shower, no cold water in couple rooms, some only hot water. Still overall recommended. Nice pool and hottub. Large event space and easy parking. Ps Robes are very nice and worth $75. If you need one.

Late arrival for check in and trying to find your way around a target confusing maze of roads made more so by the mounds of snow everywhere. The separate building closer to the water has no signs indicating what entrance, and the for sticks so much we thought it was locked which had us wondering around trying all the other doors in the blizzard weather. You go into a building to leave the building for the courtyard area, which wasn't shoveled so we had to do so ourselves least the wall of snow fall into the room when the door was opened. Our heater made terrible noises that interrupted the sleep cycle so badly we left a day early, while still paying for all the days we reserved of course. Very much an older place with not a lot of upgrades, jacuzzi tub was nice and honestly the only reason the room was worth the price as the beds weren't very comfortable and made noises when you moved. Overall it will keep you dry and warm but so will anywhere else you pay to sleep. Next time I'll pay the little extra to stay in Clayton where there's actual places open and the hotel looked much nicer while not having to trek uphill to get to your room, hoping you don't have to climb stairs once you're there! Pros: hot water (so long as everyone else isn't showing at the same time), jacuzzi tub option, pretty view from courtyard Cons: noisy heater, noisy uncomfortable bed, weird layouts, confusing driveways, not a lot of upgrades, cold breakfast in a depressing little room, laid back customer service means you might be standing at the counter listening to people in a room you can't see talking while you wait to be noticed. Also be sure you check the door lock, our luck faced sideways when engaged which is the opposite of what I'm use to so we locked ourselves out of the room a few times.

This is a self check-in establishment, upon arrival the suite we were assigned was booked. After a conversation with the owner we were accommodated. Our suite was facing the front road and had windows on the side road as well. No view for us as shades needed to be drawn for privacy and noise. This grand home, turned hotel was once a jewel. But between way too many signs in the room and the worn furnishings it is past its prime. There is a difference between antique and worn out. It is close to restaurants and the waterfront.
