We stayed at the Stonegate for a long weekend and it was fantastic! The room and hotel has a really rustic theme and it gave a cozy feel to the area. The out door fire pits were fantastic for the cold evenings, we truly enjoyed them. The property owner and managers were OUTSTANDING! They were the sweetest people and helped us with anything we needed. Our room was clean and the property was very nicely maintained. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely stay here again. 5+ rating from us for this gem nestled in the mountain town of Arkansas.

Ah, this place is great! tl;dr: Great service, new renovations, clean, smells great, very wonderfully decorated. Well, the previous reviews can probably be disregarded now, honestly. The whole place got a redesign. The theme is far more rustic and 'wild', a very traditional and hunting/fishing style of decor. The walls are painted white and they're clean, the blinds are new, the floor has also been replaced and are faux wood, easy to clean, not carpet. Extra blankets were provided and the towels were nice. The service was very nice and straight forward, great customer service! Worst part about it is maybe the beds, which aren't all that plush but I like firm beds so it's great for me. Price was decent for two nights in a comfy, well decorated inn.

This is a great place to stay for the price. The first room we checked into was not satisfactory, had a smell to it, so when I brought it to the clerks attention she offered me a choice of rooms. The very next one was perfect. I'm assuming there was just some water damage or something in the first one. The room I reserved had a king bed, which was comfortable, nice big television, table with two chairs, desk, coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. Shower was small but clean and water was hot couldn't ask for anything more. The clerk stated that when they are in season the have a big cookout on Saturdays with wild game or pulled pork. That's something to look forward to. The location is convenient to food establishments on van Buren, you can even walk to some. It's also just a few minutes drive to downtown Eureka. I would stay here again

The wood decks with a fire pit & fire place!

A great place to stay for the money! Clean, quiet and very outdoorsy, rustic feel! I felt right at home, the beds were great and slept undisturbed. Was a fall trip the heat worked well. And my favorite part was sitting on the wood deck conversing with another couple. Loved every second of our stay!!!

This is an old hotel under new ownership. They are working hard to clean and update. If you are traveling on a strict budget this place is a roof over your head, comfy bed, and sheets, clean/newer towels, microwave, refrigerator, and hot powerful shower. Our carpet looked newer and was clean. Had no bug issues. We also had free wifi. Management was pleasant to work with. Location is within walking distance to shops, food etc.. We were in a non smoking room that had a slight smoking odor. May have been smoked in previously, but not too obnoxious. There is a table and chairs located right outside door and window with ashtray. The a/c may have been pulling in from that. If you need a place for cheap this would be a great place. You are not going to find a luxurious place for $50 and under. Stone gate was accessible for the price we payed

Last night, there was a party with a live band (particularly terrible drummer BTW) right under our room until after midnight. It was so loud in our room that we couldn't watch a movie, talk to each other, or sleep. We could only put in earplugs and wait for it to be over. I could still hear all the lyrics through the earplugs, that's how loud it was. We are leaving a day early, even though we have already paid for tonight's room, because last night was so miserable. The hotel has effectively made this first floor room unusable on nights when the club right under it is open (W-Sa), and we were certainly not informed when we booked at their full price rate that this VERY LOUD party would be happening basically IN OUR ROOM UNTIL AFTER MIDNIGHT. Just ridiculous. I would not book the New Orleans Hotel first-floor suite again and would not recommend it to anyone else. As far as what the hotel should do to improve this problem: do not rent this suite out on nights when you are having loud parties right under it, and refund my money for this unusable hotel room.

I got the works; the steam cabinet, a mineral bath, and a massage. I was so relaxed by the end of it I could barely walk or think straight. I even fell asleep during the massage! Only downside for a more modern customer is that the spa layout is completely original. There are no sound barrier walls or anything. The walls and doors aren't floor to ceiling, so one can hear toilets flushing, tubs draining, etc. But it's great for feeling transported back to the old holistic, homeopathic ways.

Beware of Tyler, the tyrant psychotic sociopath owner of The Palace Bath House!…read more I visited the Palace Hotel and Bath House expecting peace and relaxation. Instead, I walked out shaking, humiliated, and in tears -- an experience I will never forget for all the wrong reasons. The mineral bath area consists of small cubicles with no ceilings, something I was never told. I didn't hear or see anyone else, so I genuinely believed I was alone. While in the bath I was trying to meditate but then someone started playing very distracting music that interrupted my meditation and I asked politely for the music to be turned off when someone changed it to something distracting. I made normal, reasonable requests -- a towel, a time extension -- nothing out of the ordinary for a spa. When I went upstairs afterward, everything changed instantly. The owner, Tyler (appeared to be in her 40s -50s had shoulder length completely gray hair) approached me out of nowhere and told me she was "astonished by my behavior" and that I was "the rudest person" she had ever had as a customer. I was stunned. I had no idea what she was talking about. She accused me of "yelling" and "ruining the experience" for others -- even though I had spoken calmly and had no idea the entire facility shared open acoustics. I immediately apologized, over and over, because I felt horrible. I was crying, shaking, and trying to explain that I truly believed I was alone. Instead of listening, she doubled down. She told me I was "blacklisted" and needed to leave. Meanwhile, other patrons -- the very people she claimed I had disturbed -- came to comfort me. They told me I had done nothing wrong. They hugged me. They reassured me. They told me her reaction was completely out of proportion. I ended up having a panic attack from the shock and humiliation. My entire day was ruined. Days later, I am still shaken. When I tried to call to request a refund, I discovered my number had been blocked. No conversation. No explanation. No willingness to resolve anything. I have never in my life been treated the way I was treated at this business. I left feeling berated, belittled, and publicly humiliated for something I didn't even know I had done wrong. The lack of sound privacy, the aggressive confrontation, the refusal to communicate afterward -- all of it paints a very clear picture. Bottom-line, BEWARE of The Palace Hotel and Bath House and the tyrant psychotic sociopath who runs this establishment, TYLER! My experience was emotionally devastating, and no guest or human in general deserves to be treated this way. Consider yourself warned.

We stayed at the historic Basin Park Hotel and loved the experience. Check-in was easy, parking is free, and it's a short walk from the lot (or you can call the shuttle). The hotel is full of charm and history--we especially enjoyed the quaint vintage elevator, though the stairs were fine too. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the shuttle even took us to the restaurant where we had dinner. The best part of staying here is the location--you can walk right out the door for morning coffee, spend the day shopping and exploring the streets and paths, and enjoy music at nearby restaurants in the evening. Don't miss the 4th-floor balcony. The view of downtown is great, and it's a beautiful spot to take in the night sky.

Spinach dip served in bread bowl was delicious. The other items were just average. Disappointing to see when we got the check that they charge you extra to pay their staff instead of the owners paying them. We had an 18% $9.90 "service pool" fee that doesn't go to the server so you're basically having to tip double. Won't be back. This was the only restaurant we visited during this trip that did this.
