This is a 4.5 review but since that's not an option, I leaned into 5. Stonegate is such a great price! Less than $100 a night to stay in Eureka Springs just a couple of miles from downtown. An easy drive or you can catch the trolley right in front of the hotel. While it's not fancy, the room has what you need. The bed is not the most comfortable I've ever slept in but it's not bad either. The fridge is a mini but a large model! You can get a pretty good bit of stuff in it. A microwave and coffee maker with a smaller bag of local coffee. A larger screen smart TV with Roku and you can sign into any of your services here. Some are provided. I'm not a huge fan of the lodge decor (I don't like animal hides) but it is cozy and I appreciate the theme. A nice little table in the room as well. The shower/toilet area is very small but fine and the shower has good water pressure. The water temp did fluctuate a bit. My guess is because it's an older hotel, but not so bad that you couldn't make it through your shower. There's not really anyone on site if you need something. They leave some supplies (like towels/toilet paper) in an office area where you can grab some. There were definitely no fancy amenities but there is a salt water pool and a sitting area with a fire pit. Plenty of parking in the lot when we were there. Overall, I thought it was in a great location and was definitely worth the money we paid. We spent very little time in our room and mainly just slept and got dressed there so we didn't need much extra. If you prefer more luxury, this might not be the place for you but you'll also need to increase your budget. For anyone who wants a nice place to stay but doesn't need extra fancy, this is a great deal! I would highly recommend! read more

Wow! Super surprised with this one! We selected this at random on a late Friday afternoon while road tripping through Arkansas. Made the booking through a website and were given a room number and key code for its electric door lock. No contact or interaction with staff which doesn't bother me in the slightest. This is an older motel that had been lovingly renovated in a sportsman / lodge theme. They really put in the effort and it shows. Most furnishings appear to be hand made from sawmill lumber and the room was cozy and inviting. They used the "retro" style microwave and refrigerator as well. In front of each room are two patio chairs and a table. There is a large covered deck area near the main entrance with a fire pit feature that we didn't visit but looks like fun. Only minor downside was the bed itself appeared to be from a fish camp as well. Metal bolted frame that creaked anytime you moved slightly. Distracting but not enough to cost them a star. Change the bed out and would give you a six star review! read more

I've stayed here twice now, and it's never let me down! It's such a cozy little spot, perfect for a good night's sleep, and it's super easy to get around downtown. I especially love the patio area where you can turn on the TV and sit by the fire and just chill. It was a fantastic weekend trip, and the prices are so reasonable! We stayed at the Stonegate for a long weekend and it was fantastic! The room and hotel has a really rustic theme and it gave a cozy feel to the area. The out door fire pits were fantastic for the cold evenings, we truly enjoyed them. The property owner and managers were OUTSTANDING! They were the sweetest people and helped us with anything we needed. Our room was clean and the property was very nicely maintained. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely stay here again. 5+ rating from us for this gem nestled in the mountain town of Arkansas. read more

Ah, this place is great! tl;dr: Great service, new renovations, clean, smells great, very wonderfully decorated. Well, the previous reviews can probably be disregarded now, honestly. The whole place got a redesign. The theme is far more rustic and 'wild', a very traditional and hunting/fishing style of decor. The walls are painted white and they're clean, the blinds are new, the floor has also been replaced and are faux wood, easy to clean, not carpet. Extra blankets were provided and the towels were nice. The service was very nice and straight forward, great customer service! Worst part about it is maybe the beds, which aren't all that plush but I like firm beds so it's great for me. Price was decent for two nights in a comfy, well decorated inn. read more

This is a great place to stay for the price. The first room we checked into was not satisfactory, had a smell to it, so when I brought it to the clerks attention she offered me a choice of rooms. The very next one was perfect. I'm assuming there was just some water damage or something in the first one. The room I reserved had a king bed, which was comfortable, nice big television, table with two chairs, desk, coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. Shower was small but clean and water was hot couldn't ask for anything more. The clerk stated that when they are in season the have a big cookout on Saturdays with wild game or pulled pork. That's something to look forward to. The location is convenient to food establishments on van Buren, you can even walk to some. It's also just a few minutes drive to downtown Eureka. A great place to stay for the money! Clean, quiet and very outdoorsy, rustic feel! I felt right at home, the beds were great and slept undisturbed. Was a fall trip the heat worked well. This is an old hotel under new ownership. They are working hard to clean and update. If you are traveling on a strict budget this place is a roof over your head, comfy bed, and sheets, clean/newer towels, microwave, refrigerator, and hot powerful shower. Our carpet looked newer and was clean. Had no bug issues. We also had free wifi. Management was pleasant to work with. Location is within walking distance to shops, food etc.. We were in a non smoking room that had a slight smoking odor. May have been smoked in previously, but not too obnoxious. There is a table and chairs located right outside door and window with ashtray. The a/c may have been pulling in from that. If you need a place for cheap this would be a great place. You are not going to find a luxurious place for $50 and under. Stone gate was accessible for the price we payed read more

This is by far the friendliest motel I've ever stayed at. Everyone and I mean everyone treats you like you are an old friend. The room I had was very basic but clean and comfortable. There are some rooms that have been remodeled and are quite nice, not that there was anything wrong with mine, it was just fine. The staff is awesome and will go out of their way to make you feel at home. I would not hesitate to recommend this motel to anyone. The owner had a cookout on Saturday night for all the guests and everything was great. I will be staying here again. read more

We decided on a last minute trip to Eureka Springs not realizing it was Eureka Gras (their mardi gras) celebration. We found Stonegate on a main stream travel site, but later found it also on eureka-springs.arkansashotels.org for a cheaper rate. I do have to say that the number listed for the hotel does not seem to roll to the actual hotel. The number seems to be to multiple hotels. So you have to book your reservations online. First let me say, this isn't a Best western. It was a humble hotel. Actually we got it for 37 bucks a night! I was worried that it would be.... oh a roach motel lol We arrived to Stonegate pretty late on Friday night. The owners greeted us in the pouring rain. They were very nice. Happy we were there. Walked us to our rooms. Made sure everything was okay. Even let us know as the younger couple in the groups... we would probably prefer the one room with the mirrors lol how cute... Anyways, they informed us if we needed anything at all do not hesitate to let them know. The room has fridge, microwave, TV and all the normal hotel amenities. It was very clean. The owner informed us they just recently replaced all the beds in the hotel. They are firm mattresses but comfy. We realized about an hour in the room that we didn't have but two towels. They are kind of small on top of that. They were happy to give us as many towels as we needed. For those who are interested in the pool or the hot tub. they are in the front of the hotel they are small but look nice from what I could tell. This motel may of been cheap but it was a great experience. I will return to this hotel in the future. read more

(found out later it's a $37 room) * + Extra charge for dog deposit - $15 (non refundable apparently) * No Deadbolt on door, no chain for the inside on door * Adjoining rooms did not have locks so anyone from the room next door could just come right over and vice versa. * Stains on sheets, towels and comforter had cigarette burn hole * Bugs found on box spring, not sure if bed bugs since I've never seen what they look like but still BUGS in the room and setting up a definite habitat on the bed. * BROUGHT UP TO OWNERS LATER AND THEY WERE BEYOND RUDE. LIKE THEY WERE YELLING AT ME OVER THE PHONE AND THREATENED TO SUE ME! NEVER AGAIN! DON'T STAY HERE! If I had known this room went for $37, would have never booked. You definitely get what you pay for. But in our case, we paid for the next couple customers for their rooms. read more

These guys know how to make you feel special. Chuck and Daryl are the best. After waking up to my motel window being shattered at another place, I packed up the kids and wandered the strip for another vacancy. No one was answering their phones at 3:00am until I called Stonegate. Daryl was awoken to a frantic mother who needed a safe place for her kids to rest after being awoken by the terrifying window ordeal. He didn't even need me to finish, just told me to get there and he'd take care of it. He walked us to our room, ensured our safety and guaranteed he'd come running if we needed him. I slept like a baby. Comfy beds, rustic decor, cold A/C, and clean rooms. Throw in people that will have your back in an emergency and you've earned my business. And I will be a repeat customer. Microwave, fridge and coffee pot in the room. Each room has a table and chairs outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. read more

Manager called us as we were driving into Eureka Springs to tell us that we could not check into the room until after 4pm due to others late check out. We checked in at 10pm, after a schedule event, found the manager high and not able to function. Gave us keys to a room that was occupied. No water pressure. Carpet looked like a crime scene. Bed comforter was Riddled with Cigarette burns. Could not check out at 10am when we left because there was no one in the office and no one answered the phone line. Because the manager was on drugs, it was a scary place to stay. We put the furniture In Front of the door so no one could walk in on us. read more

Quite possibly the worst place I've stayed at in Eureka Springs yet. From the time we checked in, the lady was rude, didn't give instruction on how to open the door since their was more to it than just putting the key in and turning it, room smelled horrible, like sour mildew carpet, room was very out dated, beds were alright for price and linen was clean. Asked for extra pillow and was told one was in the room and there wasn't. Went to take shower next morning and didn't have any hot water. Was told pilot light went out. Waited until the afternoon to shower and still no hot water. They then said it was on the gas company's side and they had techs coming to fix it. However after asking the adjoining properties all had gas and never saw any gas company trucks or employees on or around the property. We will not be returning. read more

Made reservations for memorial day weekend two weeks in advance, I show up after riding from Michigan to find my reservation was canceled. The lady behind the desk was evasive about how it happens but it turns out they canceled it to give it to a large group of lady riders instead. We stayed the night at this hotel and were awakened by bed bugs crawling on us. We hurried to check out and were allowed to cancel our reservation, but forced to pay for the night we slept with bugs ($74). When contacting the BBB the hotel blamed us for infecting their room with bugs. Needless to say the bad situation was not rectified but was worsened by the hotel requesting that we pay for the exterminator plus the nights we did not stay. We would never recommend this hotel, because of the bugs, but also the way we were treated by the hotel owners. No one should be treated like they way we have been from these owners. read more

Had to cancel with 24 hours notice but Carina, the manager, would not take the charge off the card for either night. It's a mom and pop type place and no place to escalate it.
