A shot from the creek looking up at my cozy campsite!

I happened upon this place at the end of last season. Snagged a great site for my Jeep camper. Even at the tent sites I was happy to find shore power, new barbecue with free propane, fire pit with all the free wood you need, bathrooms and showers, laundry room with free soap and dryer sheets. Then I am greeted by Scott, the mayor of Stoner Colorado! And he hands me a dozen fresh eggs from his chickens, banana bread, aluminum foil, utensils for the grill, coffee, some other snacks... Really very generous with the extras that can add up if you think about how much it cost to buy wood at your campsite etc. It's a really chill place, in a stunning Alpine setting, with nice people running it and a great general store. The store is very well stocked and has some great banana bread and other tasty treats! I'm back here at the beginning of the season and my experience has been even better. Do yourself a favor and put this one on the books. Stoner RV resort is the best paid campsite I've ever been at.

Our creek side campsite.

Scott helped me with the hookups, and even gave me a hose extension to make it easier to hook/unhook from the water connection.

Nice little rv resort to stay at. Just finished a 5 night stay in a cabin…read more The campground itself is nice, there's a pond behind it followed by the river. There's definitely some good shady spots on the campground with the shade which is nice. It has bathrooms and a laundry and a little shop. The cabin itself is nice, although I did have a couple of gripes about it. But first for the nice parts. 2 bedrooms 1 bathroom. It was nice and clean and kept up. Good size kitchen. It's an old stove/oven with electric top so just something to keep in mind. It's rustic looking too. For the negatives I have 2. The MAIN negative for me and the 3 others I stayed with is no A/C at all. I understand it gets cold here in other parts of the year, but when I went, mid July, it's almost 100 degrees outside and it gets really toasty in the cabin, to the point where you're sweating and it's uncomfortable. Just a little window a/c unit would go a long way here. I'd be willing to pay more for the cabin for the a/c unit too. When you're outside in the heat all day, it would be nice to come back to a cabin that has a/c to get some relief. And the other negative is the mattress. Suuuuper springy. Me and my wife laying in the bed and it's springiness had us both rolling into the middle of the bed all night, every night. And the couch mattress is all springs too. Besides that everything is good, just beware of all the mosquitoes that are here, there's a ton so bring bug spray!

While the booking process was easy, be wary of their cancellation policy. They disclose a $20…read morenon-refundable fee, but fail to clearly highlight that credit card processing fees are also non-refundable. Canceling ended up costing me $42 total. I wish these 'extra' fees were transparently disclosed upfront rather than buried in the fine print.

I would love to tell you not to stay here due to my own interest. If I told you to stay here there…read morewould be less space for me to reserve it. I could inform you that this is the most stunning and well laid out campground that I have visited but that would just lead you staying there and leaving me stay somewhere else. I could also tell you that the staff was terrible but people like Madeline and her wonderful customer service would convince you that they do everything to make sure that you're well cared for. All kidding aside THIS PLACE IS GORGEOUS, CLEAN, STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL, QUIET, FULL UTILITIES AND WELL LAID OUT. It's everything you would dream of in a Colorado Glamping experience. So if you don't book all of the sites, then that will leave an opening for me to return.

June is a very unique time of year for the area where you're going to get the stunning weather in…read morethe morning and by afternoon all of your stuff will be blown into the river if it's not bolted down. However I did have a very uncomfortable experience with a man using the women's shower facilities. I brought it to the staffs attention and they seemed to be very on top of the situation so hopefully they'll put something in writing letting men know that it's not ok this has happened on more than one occasion. They still have yummy ice cream. Don't plan on pulling out your fire wood there's a fire ban but you can continue to use a propane fire pit.
