Riverfront rustic cabin

We stayed here for 4 days during August 2020. Cute and clean little cabin rental. The bathroom and shower facilities were clean and well maintained. The staff was helpful and accommodating. We opted to add on the propane fire pit - it was nice to have in the chilly evenings and brisk mornings. My parents were able to book a spot for their RV - it was nice to be able to stay on the same property. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Good food, cheap, and slow service. They have a large sign that says $5 breakfast. There are 4 choices with this deal and it comes with coffee. Choices are breakfast sandwich, 1/2 order of biscuit and gravy, breakfast burrito, or cinnamon roll. Other menu options include eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, and pancakes. The breakfast sandwich was delicious! It also comes with a side of hasbrowns. It took a little over 20 minutes to come out, but worth the wait if you have time. There's seating inside and outside. Opened from 7a-7p, closed Monday. ....| \ _ , , , - - , , _ , .../ , ` . - ' ` ' . _ \ - ; ; ; , _ ..| , a - ) ) _ . ; . ( ` - ` - ' - ' ' - - - ' ' ( _ / . _ ) - ' ( _ \ _ )

We stayed at this RV park for 7 days and it was amazing! Staff was super friendly and personable. They have a trail at the back of the park that loops around the park and walks right along the river as well! Also the park is less than 5 minutes from Ouray and the hot springs as well. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

First time staying in Ouray and we picked this RV resort because it was close to the town and down the street from the Hot springs pools. It was nice and clean. Love the views of the mountain tops with the snow and the waterfall coming out of the mountains. We parked our RV and drove around the town. The next day we drove to Telluride which was about 1 hr. The scenery was beautiful. We would recommend this place to family and friends. Members of the RV were accommodating to when we called for staying at the park. I was really surprised that when we left that they text us and thanked us for staying in there RV park. To me that means a lot because it show me they appreciate their customers and want them to feel welcome! Thank you Ouray for beautiful scenery.

Great RV park close to downtown Ouray. The sites are all gravel and the full hookups worked great. You can't actually see the river from any of the sites because there's a berm but you can hear it and the campground butts right up to the River and trail. The views are incredible. The on site restaurant is fantastic. The sites maybe lack a little privacy but it didn't bother us at all. Bathrooms are some of the cleanest we have ever seen. All in all, we love it.

They offer several geothermal mineral soaking pools ranging from about 102-106 degrees, plus a cold plunge. I also appreciated that two of the pools are adults only, which made it feel even more relaxing. The caves were open during our visit and included both a dry sauna and steam room. There's also a water filling station inside, which is honestly a smart touch considering the heat and altitude. I booked directly through their website and chose the "Lodging, Spa & Spritzer Package," which was a really good value. It included: * Breakfast buffet each morning * A bucket of spritzer wine at arrival * Two robes * Daily hot springs passes * A $25 credit to the Mineshaft restaurant * A $100 spa credit at Sage Spa The breakfast buffet actually exceeded expectations with a good variety of options, and the pizza at Mineshaft was delicious. Service throughout the property was friendly and courteous. We arrived during a warm, sunny stretch in mid-April and left during a snowy day, which honestly made the hot springs experience even better. The pools stay open during snowfall, and soaking while snow falls around the mountains was such a cool experience. The only downside was that it was off-season, so there was some construction happening around the property and we could hear power tools during parts of the day. The rooms are also a bit outdated right now, but it's obvious they're actively working on upgrades and renovations. The evenings were much quieter and the relaxing spa music around the pools helped create a really peaceful atmosphere. Overall, this was a great getaway and I'm excited to come back once the remodel updates are complete.

I asked if we could be assigned to a quiet room (as I had read reviews complaining about the noise). Shea, the clerk, responded she could not reassign the room because I had used Expedia. I told her I don't use Expedia or third party when booking hotels. Her response to me was that I did use Expedia. She continued to argue with me. I even allowed her to review the reservation on my phone and she claimed it was third party. I went to the hotel website and attempted to book another room to prove that the hotel uses webrez. She said Expedia uses webrez. Just unbelievable nasty rudeness from her. Like I was lying. Her tone was so nasty I would score it a 20 out of 10. I asked for the manager and she gave me a card with Andy Stoll's cell number. I called while at the desk, he screens his calls and did not answer. At that point Shea states that she sees where the problem is, that there is another guest with a similar name checking in tonight and they used Expedia. At this point she had already confirmed my first name. She apologized but there was no coming back from the nastiness. It unbelievable that someone in customer service could behave this way. She represents the hotel and should be terminated.

The runs aren't that great, but hey - at least you can ski here. My main problem with this resort is with the owners / management. They recently started to offer "local discount days", which is awesome, but they attach strings to it. You HAVE to present a coupon from the newspaper for EACH person buying a ticket... So, you can be from out of town, present the coupon, and get the discount, which I liked since I'm from Texas. However, my friends who were local did not have the coupon, but had driver's licenses and Fort Lewis College student Id's and they were refused the local price. One of my friends even had her electric bill, and they still refused to give her the discount. Super lame. I won't be returned to this hill.

When a front desk associate heard that I just had a birthday, she said that she was going to send champagne to our room. She didn't just send champagne - She sent chocolate, candles and bath salts! I was blown away by the generosity! Every employee we encountered during our stay was friendly and helpful. They assisted with things being moved and made multiple trips with a cart so that family members could transport items to and from their casita. The location here is just extraordinary. There are 360 degrees views of the mountains. Our second floor room in the Kayenta Lodge had a beautiful view. I'm guessing that all rooms have nice views! The room was large and included a separate bathtub in the bathroom. We had a balcony with chairs and a fireplace. If you are lucky enough to stay in a casita you may have your own hot tub, table/chairs and a fireplace. The atmosphere of Gateway Resort and Spa feels very New Mexico Southwest. First I'll start with the good: - The views are incredible and although we didn't hike too much because of the weather, the trails are plentiful. - My kids loved renting bikes around the resort which are included in the fee. -The highlight of the trip may have been the horse ranch about 15 miles away toward grand junction. The kids (8 and 6) got to learn about how to care for horses and ride a couple of ponies. - rooms are really spacious and comfortable. Having a hot tub of our own was an added bonus. -meals at Paradox Grille were huge and food above average to very good overall. - great massage at the spa. - nice gym and fitness area - friendly and helpful staff To improve: -we were here during shoulder season and about half our time the weather was nice and the other half not so nice which we expected. On the rainy day there really wasn't much to do. The movie theatre was shut down, there were no exercise classes offered at the gym, and the spa, while excellent, did not have anything that would keep the kids entertained such as mani/pedis. While I hate seeing reviews mention tvs as I believe you should get out and away from tv on vacation, when we wanted to watch a movie on the rainy day, we found the tv small and also couldn't hook up to stream Netflix or Hulu. - while as mentioned the food at paradox was above average, the menu is limited and it was the only restaurant open, so we got a little bored of the food by the last day. Overall a fun trip and time and I would return. With some tweaks to the offerings and experience this is easily a 5 star stay.

Their children are very respectful and I loved having them around. I stayed in a suite which was the absolute best accommodations I have ever stayed in. I had my own deck to watch the beautiful stars in the morning and my own bathroom with a shower you can fit ten people in and a tub to soak in after the long day of hunting. The food: They say on the website there is a five star chef. It is Jeremy's wife who cooks all the food and it was more than five star in my personal opinion. She noticed I loved fruit so every meal there was fruit for me. Which is above and beyond. The hunting experience : It was EXCEPTIONAL. The guides we had were very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure we were seeing elk every single day. Jeremy (the owner) who is a true hunter, not just a "resort owner" was out every day glassing to find where the elk were at. He has 12 miles of land so where the elk were at, we were at. We had no issues going to the same "sweet spots" because that means that's where the elk are at. Overall, we will be coming back. They are an exceptional family with a beautiful lodge and amazing hunting ground. It is not a spot that elk will migrate through, it is a place that they stay because of all the abundant resources Jeremy has ensured the land will have for the animals. You won't find a better hunting resort to stay at!

We were told that Crossing Creek's success rate was 100% for the 1st rifle season in 2017 and a high success rate overall. We booked the 1st rifle season for 2018. What we missed was 2017 was Crossing Creek's first year in business. The Lodge. The enormous beautiful hunting Lodge is not a Lodge; it's actually the owner's Home complete with 2 wonderful young boys. Surprise! All business is conducted at one wing of the Home where the kitchen and dining room are located. It is also the same wing in which the owners live. Starting at 4:30-5am when the hunters join for a quick snack while waiting for the Guides to arrive, who leave their diesel engines running just outside this wing, then business ends at midnight after dinner, countless cocktails and loud endless stores. I mention this because one of the owners rebuked me the second morning for making too much noise and waking one the boys. I believe this incident is the reason the owner two days later flew a drone mounted with high intensity LED lights that were shining inside my second story windows at 4am. It was HARASSMENT as well as childishness. Whatever the owner's reason was, it's no way to treat a paying customer. For the doubting Thomas's, there are no outside security lights. Certainly not one that is 10 feet away facing into a South facing window then moves to an East facing window then laterally passes the bathroom window in another room. I was harassed. I was totally blindsided and now doubt the owner's integrity. It was a childish and resentful attack. Entering the Lodge (Home) there is a small 6' long bench. Hunters lack sufficient space and storage for hunting gear and rifles. Hunting gear/clothing/boots lie about like any other man cave however this is a Home and you must be mindful of that. Five unchecked rifles were left lying around on the floor or leaning against one corner. I consider this a safety hazard for a Home or any Lodge especially one with children. A solution would be to build an outside heated changing and storage room. The Range. Sitting in the mud is an old saggy 6' folding table along with older chairs. In the field was a cardboard box with Sharpie circles for a target. I've used worse but at top dollar I expect better such as a concrete shooting table, chairs and official targets down range. Improvement is needed. The Guides. There were three Guides. A bonus since it was booked 2 hunters to 1 guide. Two of them were around 25+ y/o with extensive Elk hunting experience. The third, older, Guide had extensive hunting experience but not with Elk. All three lacked any years of experience as Guides and for sure it was one Guide's first year, first week even. It was also clear the Guides had one week of experience on the property. They had lots to learn at our expense. One Guide brought his girlfriend with him for an early afternoon hunt. One hundred percent of his time was focused on his girlfriend and he totally neglected the three hunters. We were not his priority. Later that cold night returning from the mountain top we loaded into an old Jeep Cherokee for the 4 mile bumpy ride home. One of the older hunters and my partner, 63, had to ride in the rear with the spare tire and hunting gear while the Guides girlfriend sat up front with the heater on full blast. We lost 1/2 a day of hunting and basically paid for the Guide to spend time with his girlfriend. The Hunting. There is 12 miles of property bordered by National Forest and BLM land. Of the 12 miles we only hunted in two small areas, the highest point of the property facing the Nat'l Forest and the lowest point facing BLM land. All the rest of the property was under development and not hunted. While the owner and Guides did work hard for our success only one of five hunters harvested an Elk or 20% success rate. The Guides were not allowed to cross the boundaries of the property. Had we shot an Elk in the Forest or BLM I was left with the impression we had to haul it out. That's what Guides get paid to do. The Food. While the website leads you to believe a 5 star chef is cooking your meals this was not the case for hunters, wedding only maybe. One of the owners and a Guides wife prepared the meals. They did an excellent job and the service was superb. Summary. We paid top dollar for this hunt. What we got was a bed in a fancy house, good food, an owner who wanted us to be successful and worked hard towards that end, inexperienced Guides experienced hunters, a property that is under development and not ready for prime time hunting and finally personal harassment. This place has great hunting potential. If you must go, go in 5 years.
