Often, a full-time nurse or medically trained professional is not necessary to keep an aging parent or a recuperating son or daughter in his or her own home. You might simply need someone to prepare meals and administer medication during the times you cannot be there. We can do that, too. We would consider it an honor to design a plan for you and what you specifically need for yourself or someone you care about. Rest assured that we are committed to treating each client with the respect and dignity he or she deserves...because we're more than just caregivers, we're family!...

The room she showed us could use a little update but overall it was a nice community. The sales director interduce us to all of the staff members as we walked by and she knew all of the residents names which we thought was great. The place was clean and welcoming. We will definitely keep Creekside on our list for when we are ready to move mom.

Unfortunately, things aren't always what they seem. I was…read moreheartbroken when my grandfather was kicked out after three days because he was a persistent whistler. I was under the understanding that staff was able to deal with aspects of dementia, but not this one. His whistling upset other residents, resulting in them (residents) threatening him with violence. Naturally, he was defensive when he was threatened. They sent him to a mental health facility, and as the new facility informed me (he was no longer welcome back at Creekside, per a staff member). I assumed he was done but was assured by management that they would evaluate him after two weeks at the mental health facility, where he strangely had no issues. I should have pulled him out then, but I wanted him to have a nice room at a clean facility. Ultimately he was determined not to qualify to return to the regular or memory care section. So I paid a $1500 entry fee for three days of service and then for an additional two weeks at a place he would never be allowed back at. Fortunately, the assisted living facility he is at now has been going great, and they tell me he is very getting along with everyone, is helpful, and rarely ever whistles. I don't know the difference, but I am undoubtedly upset with how he was treated at CreekSide. It is very disappointing because the place is beautiful, but it seems like they may lack care skills for those with Dementia or Alzheimers.

I was sat down with a case worker (Lindsey) and a social worker (Laura Ann). I was told everything that would happen when he went home and that they were available to help if we had problems after leaving. The problems started immediately and I was never called to be told problems even existed. Everyone seemed to blame the insurance, but when I called the insurance, I was informed of what they needed. I called everyone that it pertained to including Lindsey, and was told by her I didn't know what I was talking about. And that because my father had already been discharged she wasn't responsible for helping me. Thank goodness I am capable of making phone calls to get to the bottom of things, because we now have the ball rolling, more than a week after he was discharged without home health or any of the therapies he needs. I won't post details, but I will say this hospital has a serious issue with follow up. Don't say you will help families after they leave and then just drop the ball. Maybe take a little time to listen to the families or even call them back when it's requested. I've been out of work for almost 4 weeks, caring for my beloved father when I was told I would have help with 48 hours of getting him home. I will say I loved his nurses and therapists. They were absolutely wonderful.
