The venue is huge and looks like a castle. We went early and it wasn't crowded but started getting busier as we were eating. Jamie was our server and she made me a strawberry vodka drink that was really good. I had the filet and a Caesar salad and my husband had the steak and shrimp. I arrived at Stillwater as an outsider, escorted by my wife's family, who had heard whispers that this was one of those places--a destination restaurant, the sort of establishment people point to with civic pride. From a distance, the building certainly announces itself. It rises from the landscape like a medieval fortress conceived by a committee: large, gray, turreted, and impossible to miss. There is even a towering tree stump near the entrance, carved and painted into the likeness of a knight standing guard behind an oversized shield. For a moment, you begin to imagine where this might be headed. Unfortunately, the knight appears to have consumed the entire decoration budget. If the exterior promises castle, the interior delivers conference center. Beyond the front doors lies a vast room of gray walls and corporate-event energy, a space that feels less like a feudal banquet hall than a regional insurance seminar waiting for its keynote speaker. There are hints of what might have been: handsome woodwork high in the ceiling, generous bay windows, an occasional flourish of stained glass. One particularly memorable panel depicts hot-air balloons, a design choice whose relationship to the medieval theme remains mysterious. The overall effect is less Camelot than convention center. I'd heard that professional baseball players had a hand in creating the restaurant, a fact that explains little and raises many questions. The menu is expansive in the way American roadhouse menus often are--large enough that nearly everyone can locate something familiar. Fried pickles arrived first, alongside potato skins. Both were exactly what fried pickles and potato skins ought to be: salty, crisp, comforting, impossible to dislike. A Caesar salad followed. I am perhaps unfairly demanding when it comes to Caesar salads, having spent years chasing the ideal balance of garlic, anchovy, lemon, and restraint. This version favored abundance over subtlety. The dressing arrived in force. It wasn't unpleasant, merely enthusiastic. My filet began promisingly enough. For most of the meal it was a respectable steak. Then, during the final few bites, the texture shifted into something I can only describe as mealy, as though the meat had suddenly decided to become something else entirely. It was an odd experience, one I've rarely encountered in a cut that expensive. The garlic butter I'd requested never appeared. The baked potato seemed to have been seasoned according to a philosophy of extreme minimalism. Around the table, I sampled broadly. The fries were battered and fried into that irresistible category of food that is simultaneously delicious and vaguely regrettable. The mac and cheese, however, was genuinely excellent--rich, creamy, and easily the most memorable thing I tasted all evening. My wife's salmon inspired little enthusiasm and even less appetite. A significant portion eventually made its way home, where our dogs greeted it with considerably more excitement than she had. The cocktail situation was more encouraging. An Old Fashioned arrived properly balanced and enjoyable, though accompanied by an odd sliver of ice that looked as if it had wandered in from another drink. After years of encountering Old Fashioneds served with monolithic cubes and crystal-clear spheres, the presentation felt strangely unfinished. At some point we climbed to the upper deck that locals speak of so fondly. The space unfolds across multiple levels overlooking a small pond, and it is pleasant enough, especially as evening settles in. Had we spent the meal there, perhaps some of the restaurant's appeal would have become clearer. But restaurants are accumulations of impressions, and mine had largely been formed downstairs among the gray walls and banquet-room atmosphere. Stillwater is a place of ambitions larger than its execution--a castle whose imagination seems to stop at the drawbridge. The building promises spectacle; the experience delivers competence punctuated by confusion. Should I find myself back in the area, I'll happily explore elsewhere. 0 STARS -- ABSOLUTELY HEARTBREAKING & UNACCEPTABLE I purchased handicap-accessible tickets for my parents to see Travis Tritt at Castle Ridge because I wanted them to be able to go out, enjoy themselves, and have a great night without worrying about whether they could physically handle it. The tickets CLEARLY stated that seating was provided. Yet when my parents arrived, there were NO seats for them. Hearing afterward that my parents had such a hard time because they were forced to stand absolutely breaks my heart. My dad uses a cane, has a bad back, and already has difficulty walking. That is exactly WHY I made sure to purchase handicap-accessible tickets with seating! I trusted that what was advertised on those tickets would be honored. Instead, my parents were put in a situation where they had to struggle physically just to attend a concert that was supposed to be an enjoyable night out. Accessible seating is not a convenience--it is a necessity for the people who need it. If a ticket says HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE and SEATING PROVIDED, then there should be a seat waiting for that guest. Period. I'm beyond disappointed that something I purchased as a special experience for my parents turned into them having to struggle through the evening. 0/5 stars if I could. Castle Ridge needs to take accessibility seriously and make sure this NEVER happens to another family. read more

Unimpressed. Sure, the space is majestic and the setting quite nice, but the portions are small and too expensive, and the lunch selections are sparse. Service is variable - on one occasion we had three different servers and had no clue as to why, especially given the first one simply disappeared and the bartender realized we weren't being served. A change in personal circumstances interfere with potential return visits, but even if we could "try again", based on our four experiences they'd be pretty far down on our list for eating out. read more

We had reservations for 20. When we arrived were seated promptly. Waitress took drink orders. I had a blt and fries. The blt was okay, fries were better. The wife had a salad and soup. Nice dressing on a good size salad. The soup was creamy but lacked potatoes in a potato soup, but, had a side of popcorn slightly stale. Not sure why you would want to put popcorn in potato soup unless that was supposed to be the potatoes. When they brought dinner they were serving the adults before the kids. Overall pricey for what you got. Nothing special to make it special. The room was noisy since all the tables were full and then you add the one man band made it really loud. Just wanted to say how impressed I was with the Castle. I was there this past Saturday night with a lot of area Homecomings happening. First of all- it's gorgeous! We loved it from top to bottom, the views from every angle are fabulous. Second, the food was amazing and we were really impressed with how affordable both the food and drinks were. We both ordered burgers that were cooked perfectly. We both also enjoyed a couple of adult beverages that were superb.Third, and probably most importantly- the service was exceptional. They had at least 4 bus loads of homecoming kids, and were extremely busy. They were very efficient in seating us, taking our order and promptly delivering food and drinks. Staff was so polite and accommodating. Just a wonderful overall experience.We'll be back for sure! read more

This is our second visit to the Stonewater restaurant. We were just as pleased with our experience. The servers were friendly and very attentive. The majesty of the building is amazing. The interior was what a great hall in a castle should look like. We were there for lunch, so the was limited, but the food was excellent. The Buffalo chicken flatbread was scrumptious. The Philly cheesesteak was one of the best my boyfriend had ever had. The French fries were freshly made and were amazing. TL;DR - Overpriced, mediocre, lukewarm food. Pass. We have been multiple times now, and each visit has been more mediocre than the last. I will say, the outdoor seating on the rooftop area has a nice view. But, this is a restaurant, and you come for the food, not the seating options. The brisket is fine, nothing to write home about. If you get it above lukewarm you are in luck as usually the dishes are served lukewarm. I have tried a flatbread and a burger on different occasions as well, and each time the wait has gotten longer while the food quality has gotten worse. The wait staff seems constantly overwhelmed, yet the most recent visit was during the dinner rush on a Friday night and the dining area contained a whopping six or seven small parties when we entered. Each visit we have been told the kitchen is "slammed" or that food will be out shortly due to delays in the kitchen, yet the food is constantly served up room temperature which leads me to believe it was sitting on a counter ready to be served. Nothing about the restaurant is horrible, the inside is clean and nicely decorated, if a little sparse. The grounds around are nice (if you ignore the mess that is the parking lot, apparently the budget ran out before paving). There is just nothing here to justify the price and the long wait times. This is Applebee's quality food with below Applebee's quality service, but prices that would indicate you are getting a much finer dining experience. read more

4 of us stopped in for a cocktail and decided to stay for dinner. We immediately noticed that it was pretty loud due to the tall ceilings and wide open area that extended into the bar and ultimately the kitchen. They had live music in the bar area which drifted into the dining area making it very loud. Our group ordered a couple lemon drops and a couple old fashions. All the drinks were very good. We ordered the brisket nachos and mushrooms for appetizers. Mushrooms were stuffed and very good but there were only 5 small mushrooms. Strange that they were served with pita points but I assume that was an attempt to make the dish look bigger. The nachos were good, but nachos are pretty tough to screw up. The table ordered 2 ribeyes, a strip steak and a pasta dish. The steaks were good and prepared perfectly. The pasta was very good. Sprouts and greenbeans were very good. Mac and cheese was solid but average. Overall food was 4 stars. Service was decent but not spectacular. They have a great bar and the selection of spirits was good. The biggest issue I had is they have nothing but house wine. We had happened to have a couple nice reds in the car. We offered to pay whatever corkage fee they wanted to charge but they would not allow us to bring any in. It is understandable if a restaraunt had a great wine list that they may not want outside wine brought in. However, when you have a crap wine selection and don't offer a corkage fee you cannot be considered an above average restaraunt or serious about providing a great customer experience. read more

Finally got to try this place after being in the area for a while. This is the first Ola e that was recommended by the community. Honestly this place is nothing to rave about . I'll start with the appetizers first the artichoke dip was ok . The shrimp and slaw was over cooked and dry. The entree was not to good either . I had the catfish platter. The catfish soggy and flavorless then being coated in a batter that was overpowering wasn't a great choice. The kettle chips were very overcooked and a medium brown . The Mac and sheese had high expectations I am a Mac and cheese fan . I thought it was very plain and starchy .. not so cheesy. On to the drinks . I honestly think they tasted good but you couldn't smell or tast ANY alcohol in either drink I ordered. This isn't a place I wouldn't suggest. I would go to the local burger joint save a lot of money then I would recommend going to the local pub for a drink. The cost was very price foe the quality of food offered. This place has a very strange vibe. It's like it's trying to be an upscale restaurant but falls very short on ambiance and food/drinks. The menu is rather boring with mostly bar food and a $50 filet thrown in the mix. Everything on the menu is overpriced, and the dining room is loud and crowded. We opted to sit on the rooftop patio, and we expected to find a hip bar area but only found a tiny walk up bar. The food was just average, and the drinks were mediocre at best. The staff were all great, and the view from the rooftop was very nice, but unfortunately, this is not somewhere we will ever return to again. read more

Everything was absolutely delicious! Went for our anniversary dinner and was not disappointed. I ordered the Castle Ridge Mama frozen and it was delicious. It was topped off with the cutest strawberry rose. For dinner I ordered the sirloin, loaded mashed, and Brussel sprouts. The Brussel sprouts were AMAZING. It was probably my favorite thing I had on my plate. The mashed were your average mashed potatoes in my opinion. The sirloin was cooked well but it could have used some garlic butter or something on top. I ended up dipping mine into the garlic Parmesan remnants from my Brussel sprouts. My husband ordered a side of the baked Mac n cheese because we had heard good things. It was very good! He also ordered a baked pasta dish that had chicken and broccoli and he really liked it. The dessert was DELICIOUS!! We never order dessert but I have heard so many raves about it that I had to try for myself. I'm so glad I did!! It was sooo good!! The service was fantastic! 1st time I have ever had to walk out of a restatruant due to horrible service. When we arrived at 6:20pm, me and my wife were seated and a waitress came over and took our drink order (sweet tea's) and appetizer order. She then indcated that she would be back in a few minutes to get the remainder of our order. Our drinks and appetizer came out fairly qucikly but then things went south. As we finshed our appetizer and our sweet tea, we sat for an hour wating on our watiress to come by to take our entree orders. During this time of waiting our watiress never returned as other waitresses walked past our table. They could clearly see our empty glasses and finshed appetizer, but would never stop to check on us. We watched the waitress staff catering to the tables that appeared to have order alcoholic beverages, as their glasses never got empty. We also watched as the waitrees staff would hang around the hostess station and cleaning tables, again none of which would come to our table to check on us. At 7:30pm we stopped one of the waitresses walking around and told her to bring us our check we were leaving. Our original waitress then showed up, came over to the table and apologized and said " I forgot about you". Will NEVER go back to this overpriced, soon-to-be a casino. read more

We drove an hour to explore and dine at Stonewater which is part of Castle Ridge. The outer design alone was fascinating. Great planning to mimic a castle - moat included! It's quite expansive and this fairly new multi-purpose venue holds great potential! The dining area was huge and view was beautiful. Our server, Teeka, was top notch and did everything possible to ensure we were happy. I was eager to order smoked brisket and my husband wanted a prime rib sandwich. Unfortunately they were unavailable. Given today's issues with product deliveries, I did not fault them. We both had burgers instead--mine with the best roasted Brussels sprouts imaginable! The burgers were were fantastic and everything was generously portioned. Mushroom appetizer is a must try. My SIL ordered an impossible burger, BIL had a bowl of potato soup and a salad with Brussels sprouts (and much more). All of us were very pleased with our meal. Bar menu from mixed drinks to IPA's is impressive The manager came to our table to get feedback on our experience.
