My girlfriend and I visited this location on Saturday (1/27). This Stop and Shop location is very neat and it is organized very nicely. It is very enjoyable as far as food shopping can go. However my issue was with our checkout experience. The cashier, named Mackenzie, was not handling our groceries with as much care as was necessary. We're very fortunate that nothing got broken or the clementines that we bought didn't bruise when she plopped then down on her little conveyor belt. She asked for assistance with the soda which I was going to grab and do myself regardless since there was no bagger with her. She did mention that her back was hurting. So my girlfriend had to bag the rest of the groceries herself. She then continued to not-so-gently put our groceries down. After everything was scanned, she took a coupon and flicked it towards my girlfriend instead of simply handing it to me. This was simply rude and an unnecessary way to treat her customers. It is inconsiderate and we have never had an experience like this at this location or at any other location. If her back pain was as severe as she claimed that she couldn't bend, then she shouldn't have been there in the first place or a bagger should have been with her for her shift. While shopping couple of days ago I discovered that the usual ice cream I get every week which are the Oatly non dairy brand salted caramel flavor were all almost completely melted and completely covered with fresh frost. When I asked the person stacking these items at the time he was unable to explain it and neither was the store manager contacted by me today. read more

Really disappointing encounter at the customer service desk which in this case was definitely an oxymoron. Walked up to the counter no line at all a person working behind the countertop won't look up won't make eye contact knows I'm there. Continues to work. Won't even acknowledge me after about two minutes. I knocked on the plexiglass and asked if anyone was working. The male employee said "yeah what do you need?" REALLY? What do I need? Sorry to bother you, sir. I simply walked away. The last thing I needed was to interact with that employee really disappointed in Stop & Shop for allowing that type of employee to be at customer service. I don't usually leave reviews at all for chains like this but our experience this morning was one star worthy. My toddler and I arrived at this location ready to shop and on our way from the shopping carts to the produce we interacted with one employee, a woman wearing a hajib who GLARED at us in response to our smile and hello. We turned around and walked right out. As an indigenous American, I have a zero tolerance policy for hatred and negativity let alone lack of respect for my patronage. We will not be shopping again at this location. I prefer to give my business to human cashiers over self check out but considering she was the only cashier, we will not be giving her a second chance and I am trying to role model for my toddler what is acceptable behavior to accept from other humans, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, etc. We decided not to shop this location based on her received hatred of us upon being greeted with a GLARE. read more

For people with disabilities and Seniors, there are no benches to sit inside. If you are shopping and need to sit for a bit there is nothing for you. I have repeatedly asked the manager and am told they are looking into it and that benches were removed when they removed about 1.5 years ago for the remodeling which has been done for a year. I've been asking for the last 6 months. What gives here? All other stores have them guess I'll go there. I received a response from Victoria T. Below inviting me to call 800-767-7772 to discuss this further. I called 3 times today, it was the Stop and Shop customer service number. I waited about 20-25 minutes each time and each time I was disconnected without EVER SPEAKING WITH A HUMAN VOICE. The recording told me I was 7th in line, the second time told me I was 2nd in line, the third time told me I was 3rd in line. Each time was disconnected. Cashiers here won't bag groceries. It drives me crazy and I only keep going back because it's very close to home and sometimes I forget.

I don't usually shop at this location, but I was pleasantly surprised today by the organic & vegan selections! Due to some dietary restrictions, I usually have to go to several stores for my groceries. This was by far the most plant based food I've seen at a non-specialty grocery store! Ok, going food shopping is not my favorite thing to do. People bring all twenty seven of their kids then jam half of them into one of those plastic car/shopping carts while the other half run around. GET OUT OF MY FREAKIN' WAY! Sorry, sounding like an old grouch (sign of things to come?). I've been going to this Stop and Shop for a bit and I've had no issue with them. I have been shopping at the Mansfield, MA Stop and Shop since they opened here many years ago. I am a 69 yo with pre-existing health conditions so I have been going to the store either at 6 am or later in the evening to avoid people and to make my trip as quick as possible. I went into the store last night about 8:30 pm after a couple of weeks. The entire store is in the midst of change. They are moving items all around the store and the signs above the aisles are no help at all! It took me at least twice as long as it usually does to find the items that I needed. I am astounded that in the midst of this pandemic, when people are supposed to avoid crowds and make their shopping trips as short as possible, Stop and Shop has decided to rearrange its store! I can't tell you how frustrated I was last evening. Even the employees aren't sure where items are now located! There are large rolling shelf units in the aisles with items about to be relocated and lots of empty shelves waiting to be filled with newly located items. One employee told me that this is the second week of what is expected to be a six-week process! My question is, "WHY NOW?" Shaws, here I come! read more

Flew in late last night with a wicked cold the hotel only had individually packed DayQuil so I had to stop by the store on the way back from work. My first time at this chain of supermarkets, at least I think it's a chain of stores. Friendly and helpful staff directed me to the meds I needed oh so bad then grabbed a few snack used the self checkout line without a problem. Only downside- the thermostat was way off- the store was bit hot, I kept my jacket on but even when I took it off I felt I was going through menopause. Overall good experience just lower the heat a little and I would stay longer, shop a little more. read more

Ok, this is going to be long. This Stop & Shop has really fallen apart. The building is old, dingy, and not clean enough. It is a busy location, but doesn't seem to ever get upgraded. The parking lot is too small, and the employees park in the front spots which makes it harder than it should be to get a spot. And they sit at a picnic table near the front door and smoke. I have special ordered general grocery items many times, and they always get put out and sold instead of being held for me. Every time. Over and over. No one cares. They close the lottery at 8. Every night. They will say they close it at 8:20 or 8:30, but it's 8. They also close it at 2 every afternoon for about 1/2 hour so they can count the money for a shift change. This is ridiculous. Additionally, the manager says they have to empty out the money at this point in case they get 'held up'. Right. Lots of robberies in broad daylight in a public place in Mansfield. My guess would be it has never happened and never will. And if they are at risk of being 'held up', it is probably not smart to put all the money on the counter and have one person count it alone. Just a thought. Or maybe that really isn't a concern at all??? They need to find a way to handle cash in a manner that accommodates a paying customer first. If you need to cash out the drawer, you bring in a new person with a new drawer and the prior shift takes her drawer to a back of house location to count it out. You don't shut down the operation. Customer Service 101. Other than one middle aged gentlemen, all of the deli workers are rude, cynical, and slow. They roll their eyes and make faces at each other, etc.... The pharmacy technician (not the actual pharmacist, the helper) was harassing an elderly gentleman last week. The customer was surprised by the price of his prescription, but he paid for it, and the tech went into a rant about people getting free insurance and free prescriptions that 'she pays for'. She went on and on, loudly, about how she works to pay for her insurance, other people get all sorts of free things from the government, and they should all get jobs and pay for themselves. She is sick of paying for them. Really ignorant. It is just so inappropriate for a pharmacy worker to comment on how people pay for medicine they need. What a poorly educated/trained young lady - completely lacking in grace and tact. There used to be a helpful man working in the frozen section and another in the dairy section; they are both gone. Hit or miss at the checkout line; I always use the self check to minimize my interactions with their employees. Every now and then I encounter someone who is pleasant and knows what he or she is doing. But usually not. Service is terrible. All around. No one smiles. This type of attitude comes from the top down. These employees understand that their supervisors have no respect for their customer base; they are following their leaders' examples. Why two stars instead of one? Citizen's Bank! Of course they aren't actually Stop & Shop employees; the bank leases space. The bank employees are professional and courteous, and it is open late and on weekends. And they don't close early. Or in the middle of the day to count their money. And they don't harass vulnerable customers with their political views. There are a few items I can only find at Stop & Shop, so I will continue to go there for those items and to do my banking. Otherwise, I can't imagine why anyone would choose this store when there are so many other options. read more

The service at the deli is horrible. This particular time, I walked up to the counter and as I was the only customer in line, I did not take a number. 3 employees were behind the counter cleaning and talking with each other while there were 2 employees taking down the salad bar. I stood there waiting for one of the employees to ask if I could be helped. They kept cleaning,,, as if I wasnt even there. After about 4 minutes, someone finally spoke to me. I told him I wanted turkey. When I got home, I realized he must of used the end of the turkey because each slice was about 2" by 2". This kind of service is what I've come to expect from this store. I like Stop & Shop. I have visited other Stop & Shop's and am usually quite pleased. Entrances are poorly maintained causing in adequate access to building. My wife and I were exiting the store after making as purchase when my wife slipped on ice just outside the door. I went back to let the manager know what happened and didn't even receive a how's your wife doing, just an unpleasant 'I'll let the landlord know' ! Wow this person who called himself a manager is certainly an over paid baker with no common sense. Stop & Shop will be lucky if no one gets seriously hurt, and store gets sued. read more

This is an interesting store. It's much larger than the nearby store in Foxborough (also, an average store), yet smaller and not nearly as clean and remodeled as my local store in Walpole (which is SO much better than basically, ALL of the other stores). For the size, this store does have some good features including a bank, Dunkin Donuts, Stop&Shop Gas Station, and a pharmacy. They also have the main departments like Nature's Promise, floral, seafood, meat, deli, bakery and more. The store is somewhat remodeled, not like the newest stores (the best stores), but not very dirty, either. The layout was ok, the groceries being laid out like the other stores, and having the same products (with very little items 'out of stock'), yet the bakery is placed awkwardly in the frozen section, while all of the other amenities are in the east side of the store. All of the staff seemed very friendly, happy, and happy to be there. Parking is ample, and I'd bet there isn't a time and won't ever be a time where the lot is full. The lot has an entrance / exit (which is somewhat dangerous, and there SHOULD be a traffic signal there!) on Route 106, right by the Route 140 intersection. Also, if you're looking for a close spot to grab a snack at Dunkins, some chips for the road, gas, and a bathroom stop off 495, this is a great spot. Exit 7A for Rt. 140 in Mansfield off I-495. Ok for most things, yet I won't be doing full grocery shoppings here, as my nearby stores are much in superior to this location. Overall, 3 stars. Could have improvment, but fine for anywhere from 10-20 items, with a convenience, uncrowded location. 3 stars. read more

I find the prices at Stop & Shop to be a bit higher than the surrounding supermarkets. I don't like their generic brands. You can tell they're generic. Also, their baked goods are quite bland. Not a lot of flavor. I know supermarket bakeries are usually not great. I have gone to other supermarkets with better tasting baked goods. Hannaford comes to mind. I will only shop here if I have nowhere else to go. read more

Produce especially the berries, for the most part have to be returned because of mold. This store has cost us so much money and time, returning berries which should never have been out there any more. I understand that vegetables, fruits are not something simple to keep up, but if you have to do this routine of driving back up there, just to return a fruit/vegetable after finding molds hiding beneath/within, almost WEEK AFTER WEEK, this store has very serious problem on their quality control. I have just realized now the culprit why our child get sick a lot, and what I have noticed is that each time she'd fell ill those berries are always on the background. read more

A chain pharmacy with independent pharmacy appeal. The two pharmacists working there Tom & Tiffany are both compassionate, knowledgable and go above and beyond for all of their patients. I can see why they've won the regions best pharmacy so many years in a row. Both pharmacists are certified diabetes educators, certified immunizers and are always able to answer any questions I have. They have friendly support staff and convenient pharmacy hours. You can do your grocery shopping while you wait for your prescription and do one stop shopping. Overall every experience here is a good one. I'll never understand why so many people go to big name drug stores where you are just a number. At stop and shop they treat you like family and always provide quick top notch service! They also have great pricing on generic drugs with their prescription savings plan which sometimes allows me to get 90 day prescriptions even cheaper than my insurance would charge me. Another thing I like is that they offer FlavorRx so they can flavor medications which is a free service with your stop and shop card. And being an animal lover I'm glad to see they are embracing filling pet prescriptions as well as selling frontline, etc. read more
