It's become my go to spot. Many improvements since my last review. They pretty much have everything you need. Nice staff.

This is about the Stop & Shop located in New City,New York (after admittedly having an extremely frustrating and difficult day) I ran to the Stop & Shop (who's hours are supposed to be 6 AM through midnight) and I arrived at the doors of the supermarket at 11:39 PM to find that all of the 'IN' doors were locked. I could see inside the store and there had to be half a dozen employees standing within 10 feet of the doors watching me walk from door to door realizing that the doors were all locked. I have three teenagers at home who all have the flu and double ear infections (and one with strep throat ) and needed water, fruits. other beverages and some chicken soup to make them. Literally it would've taken me five minutes to go to the two or three places where I could find everything I needed. Upon entering the store (through the 'OUT' doors) two of the managers made their displeasure abundantly clear by flat out telling me that the store was closing (in 20 minutes) The one female manager stood there glaring at me - literally alternating glaring at me and announcing over the overhead speakers 22 times (yes I counted!) in 9 minutes 'Attention shoppers we will be closed in 11 minutes please return during our normal hours of 6 AM to midnight 'while I hurriedly grabbed three cases of water, some potatoes and oranges along with a bunch of bananas-and put them in my cart. The other employees (except for the 1 teenager working a checkout at The opposite side of the store) were all within 10 feet of the doors of the supermarket getting entertainment out of see how blatantly rude they are to managers could be to a customers face. Well the one manager spend her time chasing people out of the store via the overhead speakers the other manager decided to personally walk with me and reinforce that the store was closing and when I attempted to get a bag of pasta he told me to stop walking and then started asking me what kind of pasta I needed and as I attempted to look for it he told me to go to the checkout and he would find the pasta and bring it to me. I went across the store to where the self check out area is and the teenager at the one register told me that I had to go on his register and as I was loading my stuff onto the belt I paused for a moment to open the little refrigerator to grab a Coke and the female manager started reprimanding me for taking the literally four seconds to open the refrigerator door and get a Coke. Frustrated, disappointed, insulted, embarrassed and angry don't begin to cover how I am feeling about what added up to a grand total of 20 minutes at that store. I am still now ( a half an hour later ) in a little bit of shock that people who are working in Management positions and therefore should be the examples to the younger/less experienced staff of how to interact with customers and how to represent the company that they work for could just be so aggressively confrontational and rude to a customer. They straight up try to intimidate and bully me into not getting water and fruit for my kids. Ridiculous, reprehensible way to act anytime to anyone- pile on top of that that these are managers in a big supermarket -just blows my mind. read more

Great selection of natural and organic foods! Their store brands have an extensive selection of very specific brand name items. This is one of the only nice stop and shops in the area, wide aisles and nice shopping environment. Their prices are a bit higher but I would definitely pay more to shop here than ShopRite down the road. Stop and shop abs this location mainly seems to be up to speed with technology implementing different ways to shop in store. One thing I do not like at about this location is the fact they never have enough cashiers. Stop & Shop - Large isles - Grocery Near Me - New City, New York

Today was the first time I visited this store since the beginning of the Covid period, when I gave it a 1-star rating due to quality, quantity and service issues that were lagging far behind other grocery stores in the area. What a change a year can make! The store was clean, well organized, and bursting with variety and quantity. One important thing for management to note, though: the freezer section (I was specifically looking for ice cream) is not working properly. E.g., many, many ice cream packages were covered in ice, from the front packages to those in the back. The problem was so extensive it's difficult to believe manAgement would not be aware. Leads me to wonder if temps are also not managed well in refrigerated section. That's a scary thought! read more

The only reason I ever go here is because I live close by. But, I won't be going back. A quick visit is never worth it since they are generally out of what I need, have unfriendly staff, and don't follow safety measures for a PUBLIC store with a mask mandate in effect. Employees wearing masks on their chin because they think they are special when actually they are completely apathetic. They give the company a bad name. read more

Stop & Shop has returned to New City again. For those who have been in this town in the 80's, you'll remember. This S&S is in the location of the old Bradlees, before the redevelopment of this complex. read more

Great customer service and staff are helpful. Great sales, have self-checkouts, scan -it guns, very useful electronic produce scales. Produce quality is usually good and store is very clean. Carries a great variety of items: more than some of the other Stop and Shops in the county. Also store has wide aisles. read more

This store started strong and has gone downhill. The deli kiosk was amazing!!!! A true timesaver. Now that's gone. The self scan guns are great, but you still have to wait 20 minuets on line because they don't have a designated "scanning gun' line. That's something they should consider. If something sells out consistently, I guess they don't want the hassle of restocking, it just disappears. If you ask about such an item, they will begrudging order it for you once or twice. After that they will just take your number and have the manager get back to you (I'm still waiting from last March) I use this store for the scanners, that's it. If Shoprite got the scanners, I'm sure this place would be put out of business. read more

Lapin and I shop here a couple times a year when going upstate. They have a decent selection with generous sales. The staff is usually nice but they lines are almost always long and moves slowly. They usually always have sale items in stock. read more

Stop and shop in new city used to be my favorite store. Clean and always has a good selection of items. Lately, it's gone downhill. Today was the last straw for me. The majority of the cashiers are not friendly at all, they don't even say hello. Last time I was there a few weeks ago the cashier let all my bread and chips get crushed by the other food coming down on the belt after it. Today, the cashier watched me pack all my own groceries and just stood there, I'm MOs pregnant. I've honestly had it, will be looking for a new place to shop. read more

Store is clean and well organized. Produce looks fresh and well displayed. Meat and fish always look fresh and well presented. Service at the meat and fish counter is spotty. Sometimes somebody is there, sometimes you have to wait quite a while or call for help. Counter people are always friendly and helpful when they do show up. Prices are high compared to Shoprite down the street. But, you do get what you pay for. A head of cauliflower purchased at Stop & Shop will last a week in the fridge. A head at Shoprite will turn brown in a few days. The deli meats are way overpriced. $9.99 for turkey breast? I don't think so. A few of the customer service people are friendly and helpful. There's one bozo who monitors the bottle return who's a real piece of work though. Must be an assistant manager who thinks he's CEO of the chain. All in all a nice place to shop. And I like using my shopping rewards points to reduce the price at the gas pump which is just outside in the parking lot. My advice is to shop the sales, watch for good prices and don't be too lazy to go to Shoprite for a better deal. read more

Huge and clean. Great place to shop. Inexpensive and also has a few aisles of clearance stuff. Food and outdoor furniture on sale.

This may be the worst supermarket I have ever shopped in. The only reason I have continued to go there is that it's easy to park. Now even that's not sufficient reason to keep giving them my business. Dirty store, broken carts, mispriced items, broken self checkout lanes and worst of all RUDE staff. The store has gotten better briefly at times but then again settles even lower than before. ShopRite is half a mile away and DeCicco's 1 mile. Both much better choices. This store should just be closed since obviously nobody there cares about it. read more

I just moved to NY from AZ a week ago and was just denied my 1st liquor purchase (age 25). The cashier brought my AZ driver's license to the manager who then determined that she is an expert of all 50 states' licence expiration dates. I was denied purchase because AZ has extended expiration dates on their licenses (2055). The manager seemed to not care about the situation after she made her verdict. When I told her that this (AZ having extended expiration) is an easily verifiable fact through Google search, she claimed she couldn't do it and walked away. I didn't have my smart phone on me at the time. My family of 4 will not be shopping with Stop & Shop since apparently it's a company policy to deny service to anyone they've passed judgement on. read more

Some employees are very rude to customers. They need to be trained better on customer service manners.

This is a very lovely store to shop in. Wide aisles. Good lighting. No loud music blowing your eardrums. You aren't tripping over people and stuff jammed every which way. However. Their meat department is pathetic. Take a look at the other markets around and you'll see their selection of meats takes up an awful lot more space than there is here. It's pretty limited considering the size of the store! Also their bakery department is worse. Can they at least carry Italian bread that isn't as hard as a rock and undercooked? In fact most of their hard breads look like someone pulled them out of the oven before they were actually baked. They are doughy and HARD. How is that possible? After I buy what I want I have to go to another store to get a better selection of bread, meat, and baked goods. Have wanted to post this for a while. Sure wish someone would change things there. It's not great to have to shop in two different supermarkets just to get the quality you want. read more
