When I visited her and the brand-new facility, I was astounded by the setting, the cost, the clean restrooms, the well-kept units, and the staff's professionalism and friendliness. This location is among the greatest in Wesley Chapel and Land O' Lakes. I absolutely recommend it. The fact that they genuinely care about their clients is what caught my attention. I was impressed by the welcoming atmosphere in the front lobby, which includes coffee, water, pastries, and more. What a wonderful location. P.S. I am shocked to see how negative remarks were made in the previous feedback, with which I absolutely disagree. Had to take it to corporate level and the issue was rectified in less then a week. As new business owners they are in trustworthy and rude. They are horrible at customer service and truly liars and thieves as they never followed through nor had any intention to do so. The hallways are well lit, they offer plenty of carts to assist with moving in and out and there is lots of space available for wrapping, packing and sorting items while at the unit. The only thing keeping this review from being higher is their silly policy of giving them a months notice before moving out. We told Midgard up front when we planned on moving out but failed to re notify them a month prior. As a result, we have a storage unit sitting empty for the next month that we had to pay for.

I offered them proof of payment with bank statements, emails, phone calls, personal visits to the facility, and they were STILL incapable of understanding and processing payments made to the account. Ultimately, after months of correspondence, and finally contacting the executives of the parent company, it was determined that.....guess what,.....I was right. (But not before my credit rating was affected.) Find another storage facility unless you want to be bald.

I had been with this storage space for over 10 years before they sold out to Public Storage. I had taken small increases over the years and completely understood that costs had gone up. After PS purchased the storage units, they tried to raise my rent 30%. I complained and they gave me a 6 month reprieve. After 6 months, they jacked up my monthly rent 44%. I tried to call again, but the "manager" said his hands were tied by corporate. I tried the 800 line and the first person told me her computer stopped working and tranferred me into a black hole. The second attempt, I was explaining the issue to the customer service agent and she hung up on me. the third call, the lady flat out told me we are not reducing your rent. Even though I had just reserved an identical unit across from mine for the amount I was originally paying. She told me it was an Internet Special, to which I informed her that I had called to make that reservation. She proceeded to tell me I was welcome to move forward with the other unit and move all my stuff into that unit. Luckily, after 10 years, I don't have much use for the items in there anymore, so I have started disposing of everything. So, instead of working with a good customer of 10 years, they will get nothing. That makes me happy.

On August 3, 2025, our 2024 boat, valued at approximately $130,000, was vandalized and stripped…read morewhile stored at Safeguard Self Storage in Seffner, Florida. We chose this facility because it was advertised and represented as a secure, premium storage option, featuring vertical pivot metal gates, a 10-foot cement perimeter wall, full surveillance cameras, covered storage, and well-lit grounds. We pay $350 per month for this service (an increase of over $100 in the past six months), under the belief that these security measures would protect our property. At approximately 9:34 p.m. on August 3, 2025, unknown individuals entered the premises through the exit gate. They proceeded directly to our boat and spent over one hour, according to surveillance footage reviewed with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, forcibly working on it. For more than 30 minutes, they used tools to grind off the lock on the trailer tongue, destroying the tongue in the process. The boat was then relocated to the back of the lot, where thieves removed: The entire Yamaha motor and bracket Two Garmin GPS units Steering wheel Motor controls Ignition system and wiring 36V lithium battery Various other equipment and personal property from inside the boat After the theft, the boat was returned to its original parking spot. Despite the facility's surveillance system and staff, we were not notified until 2:44 p.m. the following day, August 4, 2025. Only after we were contacted did Safeguard notify the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Adding to our frustration, Safeguard Self Storage processed our monthly payment the same day the theft was reported. When we contacted the District Manager multiple times regarding reimbursement, we were informed that the company would not cover any losses or provide financial assistance. To date, no stolen items have been recovered. Our boat remains at the facility awaiting inspection by our insurance adjuster. This experience has left us financially harmed, emotionally distressed, and with a total loss of trust in Safeguard Self Storage. Despite paying for a facility marketed as safe and secure, our property was directly targeted, stripped, and left under their watch without intervention or adequate response. I had to give 1 star because it will not allow me to give a zero.

I also like that it's off a smaller road. A challenge to spot when you first drive by, but less stress getting out of and back into traffic, especially when towing. They do have some flags at the road, which helps It stand out. Once you're back on CR-52, it's an easy drive to SR-52, then I-75 or US-98/US-301. It feels out-of-the-way, but it winds up being pretty quick to get to Tampa or Orlando, or lots of parks, forests, and preserves to the North.
