I have been renting from them for over a year now and i have two units with them, I received a called 9/2/2023 about paying my for my unit so i called back to try and pay and the individual told me no not to worry about it and that I'm set up for auto pay on the 9th, so now the 12th rolls around and the company emails me letting me know that i have late fees on my account now because my card had an expired date on it, so instead of calling me back to get the corrected exp date on my new card they send me an email 3 days later and add over 60 dollars in late fees, so i call in on the 13th to figure it out and the employee tells me there's nothing he can do that's there policy, yet they wouldn't just take my payment on the 2nd and didn't inform me on the 2nd that the card on file had an expired date on it so the issue could have been resolved then. They then give me an incorrect number for a district manager who's name is Albert I'm told. Take your business else where, they will be unwilling to work with you in a situation even if you respond in a timely manner The only reason they have so many 5 star review is that they tell every customer if you leave a 5 star review we will give you a free lock for your unit, which businesses are not supposed to do, reviews should be organic not incentive based. read more

I have 2 units with storage outlet was behind on rent so one went to auction it was sold for more money then I owed so I should of been sent check for 700 mean while my 2nd unit is behind on rent also now so its going to auction also and i get a phone call from Torry in the office telling me she feels bad and wants to tell me that there is over 700 dollars sitting in Corp office for me that they don't want to tell me about and if I can get that money thats owed to me I can use that toward my other unit there gonna sell at auction and pay my balance so it doesn't go to auction and she got in trouble for trying to help me so beware of the kind of people they are over there they will rip u off and u won't even know it and I never got my money they owed me yet they don't even admit to having any credit for me read more

I came in a little while ago to discuss my payment and I did not have a good experience with the Manager Maria. She was very short with me and gave me the dirstiest looks. I would think that being a customer for here would at least grant you some better customer service. Horrible business! They claimed they could not reach us by phone and sold our Storage Units without our knowledge. We had kept in contact with them, but we had a family emergency and was out-of-town for a couple of months as a family member was in the Hospital for 7 months! They sold everything we owned including personal and business paperwork along with family photos keepsakes etc. According to the law they were supposed to hold all of that for us to pick up. As a result of this I have become a victim of Identity Theft! read more

Awesome service and excellent location! In and out and super painless. The month to month ability was a big attraction.

Stopped by as I once again needed a 5x5 storage unit. On their website they advertise and allow you to print a coupon for a "$1 Move in Special !!" which I brought along with me. The coupon states: "May not be combined with any other discounts or special offers. Limit one (1) coupon per customer. For new rentals only." Imagine my surprise when I got there and the gentleman at the counter tells me the coupon only applies to CERTAIN units - of course not the size I wanted to rent. Nowhere on the coupon does it say anything about specific units or exclusions. Either update your specials / coupons or honor them. read more

Had no choice but to move out last month the facility is just charging a arm and a leg to rent there everytime I turn around im paying more and more each month they don't even have a gate to enter we were using the exit gate because they are to cheap to replace the one that's broke very unsafe situation and the managment there keeps closing the place when ever they decides to changing gate hours and closing hours for repairs to the building that is not needed whats needed is the gate fixed so u don't get hit coming in when people are coming out they charge more than any place around they should have that fixed by now dont they have insurance for that reason they charge us for insurance even if we dont want it makes me question what insurance they really have there because insurance should have fixed that gate already they are just a rip off u come home from work to find place closed no warning or prior notice and its to work around the office lady schedule which is wrong you pay for those hours of operation and access to place they switch when ever they decide to on you not very reliable at all to have access to your belongings like u should just over priced and not very reliable at all alot of cheaper prices and bigger units around town at other storages watch out they charge more every month u are there its just to much money for the space u get and the sizes are not even the right size they say they are so I'm now at Mary's behind wallgreens much more space for the lower price they charge read more

THIS PLACE IS THE WORST. Richard Gonzalez the manager, and his boss Joseph Freeman are liars and cheats. I signed up for their required Protection Plan, but since Richard Gonzalez is incompetent he never filed the paperwork to put the plan in place. I have a signed certificate from Joseph Freeman that shows I accepted the protection plan but they refuse to accept any liability for my losses when the unit was broken into. The security video surveillance system that they advertise is a complete joke-- the cameras don't cover many of the units including mine of course-- pretty convenient! So not only did my unit get pilfered, now I have to fight the dishonest actors at Storage Outlet of Escondido and take them to court to try to recover at least some of my losses. Despicable business. read more

If I could have given 0 stars or less than 1 whole star I would have. There were homeless people living at the facility, I m sure because I would see the same people out on the street during the day. I d also see evidence of the pedestrian entry/exit being propped open. I addressed the personal safety and property issue with management and was ignored. The last straw came when I happened to be picking up some items after hours and witnessed a heavily tattooed man with bolt cutters cutting the lock off a unit. My thought was for the safety of my girlfriend who I told to hide quietly. He yelled at me for being nosy and I could not risk him possibly being armed, so I said nothing and waited for him to leave before calling management and informing them of the occurrence. The only thing they did was tell me that: Oh, he does that all of the time. and then charged me $50 for being there after hours. I cleaned out my unit and will never recommend nor go there ever again. These people are ridiculous. All units individually alarmed? That is a joke with a dangerous punchline, guaranteed to get someone seriously injured or worse. Shame on these greedy charlatans. read more

The storage units and area is kept clean and tidy, BUT.. this place is basically a " homeless hotel". As a woman, I never felt safe going to my unit in the early morning or evening because there were questionable people coming and going on foot that made me extremely nervous. On several occasions, I was asked for my code so they could go out of the gate ( I never gave this out) There was a shirtless man that was always sleeping in the walkway of the interior units, and many people who were clearly living in their units. Obiously the security cameras are a joke, and a blind eye is turned to the goings on. I no longer have a storage unit there and I would never recommend this facility! I give one star for cleanliness. read more

The facility is clean, the staff helpful, office stocked with water and coffee and located conveniently in a shopping center in downtown Escondido. The hours for gate access are limited unfortunately, 5am-9pm and the rent on the units is more expensive than most other storage facilities. read more
