STORAGE BUYERS BEWARE!!!! I won a storage unit thru an auction on Friday (10/3/25). I was able to review the pictures online before making my bid & and I didn't see anything that concerned me. When I arrived at the Storage Mart (1575 Thousand Oaks Dr), the attendant was quick to open the unit and walk away. One step in I noticed syringes laying around the unit. There was drug paraphernalia scattered around in multiple spots.There were even a few open syringes still filled with drugs in them. I am sure there was more. We just stopped searching the unit for our safety. It's strange how none of the pictures taken showed any of this. I talked to the 1st attendant as soon as I noticed all this, and he stated he was just filling in, but he would make a note of it. The next day (10/4/25), I spoke with a different employee working, and she refused to go look at the unit and even refused to look at the pictures I took. (She did mention the owners of the unit would go early every morning & leave late in the evening. She said that she thought they were running a bike repair shop out of the unit) Storage Mart refused to hear what I have to say,even refused to look into the matter & even refused to offer a refund. I was still required to clean the unit in order to get back my cleaning fees. I would recommend anyone trying to do business with this location be cautious. This place will scam you every chance they get. If you rent here expect bogus charges on your statements that you never agreed to.

The sign up process was easily booked online, at my convenience. The onsite Manager, Motti, has been dedicated to providing a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for StorageMart clients. Speaking with her was a delight, after meeting Motti she ensured me that i had made the right choice to relocate my items to the StorageMart on tbousand oaks. A few must have amenities were the dollys and carts available for all clientele, coded doors for enrty to the indoor facilities for extra security, public restrooms, and bug freee zone! read more

Place is in a decent location for my needs. Signed up for a 10x20 unit at $150. Seemed like a reasonable price. After a few months they upped my price to almost $250 - no warning, nothing in the contract, nothing I signed. After a few months of that I cleared out and let them know about 1 week into the month. So they sent me a bill for the whole month. All seems pretty shady. But, like I said, its convenient and also secure and clean. And everyone who worked there seemed pretty friendly. read more

StorageMart does not have their "small town family values" they so proudly state on their website!! In fact, they have absolutely ZERO appreciation for long-term customers paying over $24K in rental fees since 11/2013. This location in particular does not communicate as a liaison between tenant and corporate office to try to resolve issues or make special arrangements during hardships. As a result, we have now been told that we will now be losing our extremely precious and sentimental property with no concern or empathy from anyone at Storage Mart!! read more

I didn't rate it zero stars just because the website doesn't give you that choice. The ladies working at this place do a terrible customer service. Really poor customer service ethics. Someone broke into my storage unit and stole about $3,800 worth of construction tools. The ladies at the front desk were rude acting like im making up stories, and also trying to incriminate me for this. They weren't even willing to help by taking a good look at the security cameras recordings ; they dont even have any cameras on the aile where my unit is. who knows if any of the staff even had something to do with this :( Im leaving this place feeling really disappointed and ripped off. They failed to keep my belongings safe, and only God knows how many more people will go through the same thing at this storage mart location. Now, this goes to the business owner: Can you please contact me? I need to talk to someone who can actually help me with this situation. I already filed a police report, and all im expecting is for you guys to contact me back. I'm expecting a fair compensation for my loss . Not trying to make a dollar by ripping nobody off. My experience here was so fantastic, as a first time renter I could not be more excited to write a review for the management of this location. I was expecting the process to be a little longer but after arriving and sorting out the basics, Nikki had convinced me to go for a smaller unit and I can't be more thankful that she did! All of my things fit comfortably and I'm even saving a lil money through the decision! As someone who works in customer service, I highly treasure when any service I receive feels above average and stellar: which was certainly the case here. The morning following this review, I received a call from Angel, the area manager. By the time we spoke, he had been fully informed both of this review, and had reviewed the email exchange I had with the assistant manager the prior day. In other words, I didn't have to go into the 'what was said' and 'who said it'; I did have to go through the 'why', at least from my end. I gave him the condensed version, and it boiled down to 'I initially wrote to the location to give constructive feedback, but it was taken otherwise. Unfortunately, both parties- which includes myself- got baited, and opted for escalation.' My take did and does remain- now almost 5 days removed from the exchange-that AM could have communicated the issue more politely, and I believe that whether it was prior customer interaction, or a bad day, or maybe I reminded her of her ex (which was used on me once on a Match.com date........as you can guess, when that's used, it's not because it's a 'charming recollection.') that you simply cannot let that stuff into your interactions at work. Angel represented the company well, and while he did offer a very nice accommodation to retain my business, I declined due to the fact that I had already committed to a different location. I also declined, in order to reinforce that my initial feedback was coming from a sincere place, and not to get something for nothing......nor to self-aggrandize. read more

I had a great experience renting out a unit. Nicki was helpful with the entire process, both getting my unit and moving out. She insured I had all things I needed. As a single mother, moving is extremely hard and she made sure I was satisfied with the space. read more

While I'm aware of increases in the rate, what isn't mentioned anywhere on their site is it comes every 7-10 months. So ahead of the increase i choose to move out. Set a date of May 31st which falls on a Sunday. I called and verified with the site that my date was set. I get a call on May 30th that I need to out THAT day since no one would be on site on Sunday to close out the unit. Again never mentioned on their site or with speaking with property manager. It's these sort of things that would prevent me from using them again or recommending them. read more

I've been renting my unit as a practice space and recording studio for about 3 years. The manager, Kelly, is very helpful and has always made me feel welcome to work on my musical projects without any conflict or concern. This storage unit was very helpful with everything I needed. They are very patient and took us around to check multiple units to see which one it was we needed. I love that it is gated with cameras too which makes me feel more secure with my belongings in there. read more
