Came here for a cocktail with my girlfriend on Saturday night. It was my first time here, and what a gem! First off the view is stunning! I love a good rooftop and even more so the fact we have an option to be indoors or out doors, either one has a great view. Since we were just grabbing drinks we decided to sit at the bar. Our bartender Nate was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable and made some great recommendations! The drinks were yummy! Great spot for a girls night or a date night. Had a 2 person table reservation. We got there early and they put us at a high top next to the door and reservations. It was uncomfortable and horrible. Then the service took forever. Didn't even get a waitress for over 15 min, then waited another 15 min for water. Then ordered drinks and waited for 25 min. Got a martini and it tasted like they poured in a ton of olive juice. It was gross. We tried ordering food and it was okay but that took forever and by then we were done and ready to go. We wanted to go for a quick drink and appetizers before a concert and it ended up taking over 1.5 hours for one drink and a few appetizers. The views are amazing but that is the only thing going for the place. Will never go back. read more

What an amazing view! This is most definitely the best view in Columbus, 28 floors up. The drinks were $18 each and the food was a little small for the price, but it is definitely an "elevated" dining experience. Our bartender was AMAZING, I don't think we got his name, but he was so interesting an easy to talk to- experiences are always so much better when the people there have fun personality. It is a little confusing to get to it- unfortunately where we parked made it extra confusing, but if we would have valeted it would have made it easier. Just a tip: enter at the FYR entrance, because you can only get to the 28th floor from the first floor if you're not a guest. read more

I'm not cool enough for this bar. Perhaps I was in my early twenties, but not now. I'm a curl-up on the couch after a singular glass of wine chick now. This bar is for the extra dry martini with blue cheese stuffed olives woman. That being said, I didn't feel less than for sticking to a Sapporo and taking in the view. The concept itself and the path to get there is confusing to me. First off, I wasn't aware they didn't open until four. That's pretty strange for an establishment attached to a hotel. Considering we didn't know the hours, the minimal signage to get there was even more confusing. You need to be on the side of the building attached to the convention center (the only obvious thing since it's on the rooftop). There is a host on the ground level that is watching the elevator that'll take you up. However, the ground level is not the lobby level. If you're not coming in from the street, you'll need to take the elevator down, only to take an elevator back up. Oh, and since they don't open until four, said host won't pop out until 3:50pm. Confusing, right? It was a headache, and the signs in the elevators really don't give a clear indication on where to go or when it's open. Once you eventually make your way up to the rooftop "bar", you're greeted by another host who will ask if you have a reservation. At a "bar". Aka, this is more of a lounge. There's a large indoor dining area that you must reserve, a FIFO indoor bar setup, and two outdoor sections that also need a reservation. It honestly was completely different from my expectations. The menu gives total cool girl vibes. There's an Asian flair to the drinks, and many of their whiskies and wines are imported from Japan. Unfortunately, nearly everything on the menu just didn't sound like my jam. I eventually settled on a spiced wheat ale, which was drinkable. There's a small menu of bites to choose from that have an Asian American theme, and a decent sushi selection to choose from. The views are beautiful and well worth the admission alone. I do wish they would have kept one of their rooftops as a first come first serve seating. They clearly have the space to do so, and it's a drag to have to either make a reservation or see what the second host can move around so you can enjoy the weather. I came for a few drinks and to chat, not a sit down experience with a server. I think this space would be better suited to be a restaurant and lounge than the "bar" they are advertising it to be. I've been to many rooftop hotel bars, and none of them are set up like this. It's giving more Restoration Hardware rooftop than AC hotel competition rooftop. That's fine, you simply need to mind your expectations and what you're going for. My personal experience was more three stars, but that's because what I thought was going to be, simply wasn't. While I wasn't mocked for my flip flops and t-shirt, I did feel a tad out of place amongst the LV's and high waisted pant/crop top combos. As long as you're dressed and ready to be the dry martini girl you were 10 years ago for a few hours, you'll definitely like this "bar". read more

Great new spot that's opened up in the city. The location is beautiful. You can't beat a rooftop bar. Just gorgeous. Great concept and love the Asian fusion of cocktails and bites. Definitely get the chicken thigh skewers...so good! We also got the pork belly lettuce wrap along with some sushi. All very good and solid. Service was great too. My only gripe was, it is a very pricey spot. From drinks to food, I felt it is slightly overpriced but understand inflation and especially how things are priced in the city. At the same time, the food are truly just bites. I wouldn't necessarily consider it a dinner spot, just very small portion of finger food with cocktails. I'd come back here but probably approach it a little different in my ordering. read more

I'm being generous with 4 stars because we mistakenly came for dinner. This is not a "dinner place". Especially if you're coming with hungry guys. This is a high-priced drinking place with a cool view. The wait staff was lovely and very accommodating. Service is definitely a priority here. But my pricey Martini came in a miniature Martini glass (WTF?) and many of the other drinks our group ordered were tiny too. The small bites were yummy, but like I said, not a dinner. Great views, interesting drinks, and good food...Everything I want in a rooftop bar, however. It's EXTREMELY pricey and complicated to get too. First off getting there.... you walk into the Hilton on street level where Fyre is... however, the host for Stories on High is on the ground floor below, so you have to take an elevator ride down to see the hostess and have your ID checked and then she unlocks the elevator that takes you up to the 28th floor. Second, price. I understand this is a more upscale 21+ bar, but the food and drinks are expensive so come with caution. I got one cocktail and split an appetizer containing two tiny salmon tacos and the cocktail cost $18 and the app was $17... Great spot if you have disposable income or a quick drink to take in the sights of beautiful Columbus but I don't consider this a spot a go-to and relax with friends for a night out, especially with Lincoln social right down the street. read more

Stories on High is a great addition to the Columbus food and drink scene. The best part truly is the view. You can see into Nationwise arena during a game! With the warmer temperatures, the outside will be beautiful. From the start, you feel like you're in a very exclusive environment. Definitely make reservations, as I overheard the wait time on a Saturday night being 2+ hours. The food is Japanese fusion. The plates are small, but delicious. Visited on their fourth day open and the dinner and drinks were great. It's an upscale yet relaxed ambiance -- with reasonable prices despite being a rooftop lounge. Service was professional but a little slow. Expected for the first week and was overall impressed by how smooth everything was. Hadn't had beef tartar more than once before this and wasn't a huge fan of the concept or the texture. This dish though... turned me into a beef tartar fan and was probably my favorite one of the night. All the fish tasted so fresh - highly recommend the sake (salmon) nigiri. The salmon was melt in your mouth good. A highlight for me was the bremerton negroni. Speaking to my HEART. Blackberry infused gin (Bremerton is known for their blackberries), salers, dry vermouth. I was flooded with memories of Washington summers (grateful to have spent 8 summers there). A big shout out to the beverage director Rustun for bringing this pnw themed cocktail to Columbus. The server made a comment about how the tip split was on the total and not per check which I think was meant to be helpful. If we wouldn't have looked at the receipt we would have definitely tipped after that comment. But we did look at it and realized there was already 20% gratuity included for our six top. Stories on High has only been open for a month or so. I have already visited it 3 times. The cocktails are good and the servers are friendly, but the main point of sale is the view. It's gorgeous! I would suggest getting a reservation for just before sunset. You won't be disappointed! Cocktail wise I order the bacon washed old fashioned. It's almost cheating to put bacon in anything because you know it will make it good. My friend ordered a different drink and was delighted to discover it came with a set of cat ears. read more

Very disappointing. I came here with my partner because he's been dying to come here. Service -great The view and vibe - stunning The problem is the drinks which as they said "are the main attractions". We each had two drinks , all different, and sampled each of them. They have potential but seriously miss the mark. They are overpriced , lackluster, and unidimensional despite the descriptions advertising more. Wouldn't come back unless there's a big revamp. 1) Cat Power- love the idea of Midori coconut and ginger , but way too much ginger, and the cat ears and candy just seem out of place. 2) sPRITZ - again the flavor profile sounds amazing, but Just did not deliver. The saline was too heavy and it was serviced with a green olive (weird) 3) the rainmaker - whiskey/sarsaparilla , love the idea, but the lotus root foam and dried lotus as garnish was disgusting. Smelled like rotten mushrooms. 4) pachuca sunrise - again a bit repetitive but the flavor profile sounds amazing - tasted like pineapple and water. This was our 1st stop for our anniversary dinner a couple of weeks after they opened! I had high expectations and they did not disappoint! This is a small plate and drinks restaurant so don't expect to have your full meal here. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and able to make good recommendations. The spicy tuna and the hamachi ceviche were amazing including the presentation for everything that was brought out. The drinks were good and pretty, but mostly ice for the steep prices. However, considering the location and the overall vibe, it was to be expected. The view was amazing and we saw a big rain storm roll in that was cool to see from the roof level. Wow and wow. I never thought I could find a place like this in Columbus, but here I am absolutely stunned of this experience. The food is something immaculate, delicious! The presentation was flawless and again the flavor omg! If you think that kimchi does not belong in a beef slider with cheddar, I think you might be wrong as I was. The bar inside is not so Amazing, I loved the lamps hanging from the ceiling (lamps, ornament, whatever is that) but I think it could look better, less boring and more impressive, the place could be better in some aspects. The reservations process was disappointing, I made mine 2 months in advance and they couldn't reserve a table in the patio. Also when I arrived the hostess never offered me the table in the patio, balcony however they call it, she just show me the patio besides the bar but never the one that face to the north shore. I think the restaurant management is failing in how to train the front of the house in that aspect. Now, Nick our server, shout out to that man, he is polite, patience and overall servicial. I could not say one bad thing about him, he was outstanding, did an amazing job during our stay there, hat off! The drinks, I can say they are remarkable and well presented. If you want great views, this is the place. But pretty much not worth going out of your way for this for any other reason. It can be very confusing to even find the place, food is just ok (we had some not fresh tasting sushi), the bar-height seats are seriously the most uncomfortable I have ever been in, they forgot multiple things we ordered, and my table left hungry after paying almost $700. I am absolutely in love with this rooftop bar. It really romanticized Columbus and felt a little like New York. The interior is stunning and was decorated with a teal shade and lots of lights. It felt like a starry night inside the place once it was dark out. The food was.... divine. I had the Hamachi Ceviche, Madai Sashimi, and Sake Sashimi. Everything was 10/10, sent from the gods above. I would say that my favorite thing I got was the Hamachi Ceviche, a must try. The drinks that I got were the Pinkish Martini and the Bremerton Negroni. They were both amazing. I also sampled the Bonito Martini and the Bay of Pigs from my friends order and those were fabulous as well. To add on to the amazing experience, our server Grace was the greatest. Amazing. Food, drinks, service--all incredible! We parked at the Convention garage, which wasn't far of a walk. Navigated to the tower. Sat at the bar and Nate took care of us. The beef sliders (comes with 2) are amazing and worth double their price. I had the pink and dirty, which was a twist on a dirty martini. It was good after the third sip. Kinda weird at first, but then turns good. Had normal amazing dirty martinis the rest of the night. My husband had Ghost of Potters Field and liked it a lot. We will def be back. However, we came as a large party and we easily accommodated. It was not busy, so that was a plus too. I was most impressed with how fair the prices were for the food. The drink prices were pretty average for most bars, but coming from vegas, it was definitely fairly priced. Ranges from $10-$15 depending on what you get. The food was VERY GOOD! My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken yakitori skewers, smashed avocado(basically guac and chips) and sliders. All items great and well portioned as bar tapas basically. I ordered 2 espresso martinis and my boyfriend had some dragon fruit drink and an espresso martinis. With 4 food items and 4 drinks, including gratuity was a little over $100. Not bad at all!
