On my way to the airport to leave town one last breakfast and the reviews for here were worth it. Instead of the buffet I ordered couple meals to try them out. Each was surprisingly really good. Especially the pancakes and smoothy. There was an akward part as I was eating the staff was complaining about the manager cutting hours and only staffing based off of sexual advances and discussing incidents where they argued about reporting or not. I can't complain!!! Everything here always tastes so good. Ive been eyeing the hot chicken sandwich for a long time, I'm here a lot. It was fantastic. I love that it is not saucy and it has the perfect kick to it. The Brussel sprouts were also interesting. Very good at first, then after the sandwich it just seemed too sweet. Always excellent service here I shared the sandwich with my sister and the waitress was soooo nice to cut it and serve us each our own plate. read more

The drinks were strong and tasty, the burgers were massive and delicious, and even the fries were crispy and lovely. The staff work hard to make sure service is snappy, even when the place is full. This restaurant is located inside the Sonesta and is actually a pretty cozy space. The servers are amazing. The food was sub par. I got the veggie burger and fries and I could not eat my burger. It tasted a bit too much like vinegar or just had an off taste. The fries were delicious. I didn't try any of the drinks so I cannot speak to those. read more

Stopped in on a busy Saturday night after an OSU game. Located centrally downtown by the convention center makes it convenient to stop in. They have several tables, high tops and even more casual seating at the bar or by the fire. Despite being busy, our server Taylor did a great job making sure we were well taken care of! Ordered their fish sandwich to go substituting a side salad with ranch for the fries and asked for a side of tartar sauce for the sandwich. The fish sandwich is supposed to be a North Atlantic wild caught cod filet with remoulade and lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle on a ciabatta bun. I had asked for a side of tartar sauce (twice) and this is what I was sent upstairs with. When I got to the room and saw items missing, I went back downstairs and asked for those items and I was told the kitchen was closed and they couldn't give me any of those items. Also, when I was ordering, I asked the server what I could substitute for the fries, and he told me I could substitute ANY of the sides on the menu, so I substituted for a side salad. Then I got my bill and I was charged $3 extra. When I told him I would have appreciated him telling me that it was an up charge when I originally asked what items I could substitute, he passive aggressively said "well I thought you actually read the menu so I thought you knew!" I was completely beside myself. Even if I ever thought that about one of my customers, I would NEVER say that to a patron of my work establishment. Not quite what I was expecting. I had made reservations to another restaurant while staying here, that is until I saw the menu. Honestly just the smell of the food attracted me that was coming from the kitchen. For starters this is more of a hotel/lounge area so don't expect a lot of traffic at lunchtime. What l can say is my Duck WonTon was very good - it was not homemade but came with a nice chutney plum sauce and my burger was not bad - a nice pickle, meat to bun ratio l just thought the prices were a tad bit high for a hotel lounge at lunchtime. The plus is l felt safe and the music wasn't too loud and made for a nice relaxing lunch, you pay first before taking a seat so they leave you alone just bring food and check on drink level. I enjoyed people watching from the tall, glass windows . The area was nicely done and I would return just for the peaceful setting, maybe during a happy hour or if they decide to run a few lunch specials #localadventurechallenge. read more

This was a truly disappointing experience. First we waited 5+ minutes before we were greeted and ushered to a 6 top (there were two of us) and we then opted for the bar instead. The bar was covered in food crumbs and drink residue. It was another several minutes before our server (I guess) came over to wipe it down, and -another- several minutes before we were offered the opportunity to order anything besides water. Not wanting to miss our chance, we immediately ordered an app and food, and a glass of wine. The the burger and personal pizza we ordered were mediocre at best, but at least they were expensive (lol)! I had to ask for ketchup and mayo, the burger came with iceberg lettuce, a terrible slice of tomato, and lacked the pickles the menu touted. We also had to ask for napkins and silverware, as none had been provided. When I asked for the pickles, they brought out spears, which I cut myself into burger sized pieces. The mayo was in packets. The pizza looked to be a moderately priced freezer pizza. It was not cut through the crust. As bad as all this was, the service was much worse. The server and the bartender seemed to be at war with each other, and neither would serve the other's patrons. Which was very bad news for us, since we were seated at the bar. My wine glass was empty for a full half hour. When my spouse finally managed to order another drink for me, the server ignored our clearly finished plates. They sat there on the bar for another 20 minutes. We were ready to leave, the bartender steadfastly avoided my imploring gaze for a chance to request our check. Would not recommend until after the bartender and server enter into mediation and remedial service training. And the kitchen steps it up to merit their price point. If you didn't have to enter the hotel to get here, you would have no idea you were inside of one after sitting down for a meal at Vine + Forge. For starters, the space is decorated beautifully with modern seating, tons of bright light, and they even have outlets AND hooks near every table. These details are small but for a girl like me, it can really add to my overall dining experience. As for the food, I came for lunch during the week with a friend and was really surprised by their menu. For my fellow vegetarian friends out there, they had several options for me to choose from. I ended up going with their veggie burger, which is a Beyond Burger patty with provolone cheese, avocado, lettuce, and a house made ketchup. It also came with a small side salad. The ticket price for this lunch was $15, which is very comparable for a burger of this type. I ate every bite of the burger, but my salad fell a little flat. While I loved the fresh blueberries and strawberries, I'm not a huge fan of red leaf lettuce. While I didn't come for drinks, I did order a mocktail and I loved it. I got the Highs + Lows, which had lime, mint, ginger, and a simple syrup. I really like that more places are offering mocktails and getting creative with them! Whether you're staying at a hotel nearby or simply looking to explore a new restaurant, I'd say my four stars is really accurate when describing the experience. They do not care about disabled needs, and their employees tell you one thing, put you on hold for 40 minutes & then tell you "no sorry, unfortunately you're out of luck". The only way my husband and I can eat near the hotel (Sonesta) is by placing a to go order (connected to Vine and Forge) . We called 30-40 minutes before last call, and we're out on hold 5 different times, telling us "since you called before last call, you will still be able to order food and a drink, since we are so busy you've been put on hold for so long you will still be able to order, we are sorry for the inconvenience of long wait times" among other bs they were telling me about how we're "valued". And then 40 minutes later when we finally get someone on the phone they say "sorry last call was 20 minutes ago" and then I told them our whole interaction and the manger says "unfortunately my answer isn't going to change, we're busy" Total loser staff & standards. Put your time and money somewhere else, these people only care about the rich people that are just coincidentally passing through the hotel. read more

My partner said it best -- it's a hotel bar. I think a part of why we didn't have an amazing experience here is because it isn't really catered to our demographic. As a late 20 something native to Columbus I'm big on living local and finding inspiration from the community around us and incorporating it in a dining experience. I didn't find that so much here. One of my biggest complaints would be that all the beverage names were very "meh" -- hard to remember and hard to order given that they are all so similar. It would have been a good idea to draw from the community for their names. Our service was very spotty but I think that's more a reflection on the establishment rather than the server. The place was very busy and from what I could tell she was the only one on the floor, at least from what we could see. I also found issue with the cleanliness -- see images of stained napkin and dirty cocktail glass. We had the opportunity to try several dishes -- i enjoyed the Chicken Gouda Mac but found it to be a bit cold. Their crispy duck wontons were very good! I enjoyed the salsa that came with them a lot. My partner really enjoyed their potato barrels, I found them to be a bit heavy. The last thing we tried was the chocolate pot de creme. It was yummy, but i didn't feel like I was getting anything that I couldn't make at home. As for cocktails we tried several, including truth + consequences, war + peace, joy + pain, and here + now. I genuinely enjoyed the here + now although i think it could do without the "bubbles". Truth + Consequences was pretty good -- definitely a sipping drink. I really wanted to like joy + pain but it was entirely too sweet, especially for being a drink with red wine in it. This is another one that could certainly do without the bubbles. Neither my partner or I enjoyed War + Peace. Prices were very high for what you got. I would say at least $2-3 too high. The staff was all pleasant, the lobby and restaurant design was all welcoming and modern. I'm just not sure there was enough there for us to want to come back. read more

Columbus Trip; super cute place, located in the heart of downtown also within a hotel. Stopped in for a glass of wine, pulled up wine bar on Yelp and this was close. You will need to pay to park, I came in at an odd time so was bare. Wine; SO oddly came in for wine alone, and not a huge wine selection. BUT Apparently they had wine, that was priced super high. Went with the only glass at a high average price, so was sitting there drinking my wine, and half way through I found a bug floating in my wine. The pictures of this place are what caught my attention. After looking into it more and reading some reviews I quickly realized it is a restaurant inside of a hotel lobby. This was also on the list for the pizza and beer week so I figured I'd try it out. We walked into the lobby and my friend forgot his mask in the car, but the girl at the front desk was kind enough to give him one. Some places can be pretty stingy when it comes to these. After checking out the dining area and looking for a place to sit. We ended up over by the giant windows. This place has awesome seating with great views and a sweet lookin electric fireplace too. We started off with the Duck Wontons which were absolutely delicious! I ordered the Warped Wing Gamma Bomb IPA (Beer Special) with the BBQ Chicken pizza. This made for such a good combo! The pizza was okay, I don't think I'd order pizza here again. My friend ordered the Chicken and Waffles with the bourbon maple syrup. I got to try some of it and this is definitely one of the better Chicken and Waffles I've had. The syrup had a strong bourbon taste so it really stood out, but very good. As we were finishing up, the service started to take longer and longer. It was not busy at all, but towards the end it did pick up slightly. There was only one guy helping everyone and there was a manager cleaning tables (I think) and he gave off this vibe of like "I don't want to do this and please don't ask me for anything" because he walked by us and sort of said something, but kept walking away. The girl at the front desk on the other hand was very friendly and we chatted with her for a few minutes on the way out. This is not fine dining. It's glorified bar food. We checked the menu prior, due to dietary restrictions, and two items were not on the menu provided in-house. Perhaps their social media manager can keep their information accurate and up to date. They may be busy during an event, however when we visited with a convention, it was empty. My husband ordered the wedge salad with grilled steak, they forgot the blue cheese crumbles and substituted a drizzle of blue cheese dressing. I ordered the house salad, as I cannot eat gluten. Unfortunately they decided to substitute cheap spring mix for the romaine listed on the menu, and they changed out the red onions for fried onions- an odd and unappetizing choice. The cup of tomato bisque was busily garnished but barely tepid to the taste. Reminded me of cold, watery Prego. The French fries were the best part of my meal. Two salads, a cup of soup, and a side of fries and two cocktails each was $120. At this price point we would have been better off heading to Ruth's Chris, which is what we did the next night. I went to pick up a kit for our Yelp event and seeing as it was empty we stayed for drinks. They're hours are 7 am to 2 am. They're located in the Sonestra hotel. The lounge is located near the entrance. It's a lovely space. Ceiling to floor glass windows a nice gas fire with comfortable seating. They have some interesting unique mixed drinks. We had a draft beer and a rye. The service was excellent. We will have to go back and enjoy their food next time. We had a really relaxing comfortable time! read more

Stumbled upon this place while walking home--a cute find! They have a nice, open atmosphere and a large selection of cocktails. There's about 20 varieties of by-the-glass wine that you can choose from, as well as an assortment of bottles that span across the globe for any taste that you'd like to try. What's even cooler is that there are 4 wine options: 1.5 oz, 3 oz, 6 oz, 9 oz, (and by the bottle). If you'd like to try a variety of wines, you can do so at an affordable price with the smaller pours. There's a selection of mocktails--which I absolutely love! There's not too much on the menu yet, as they just opened four days ago, but I'd expect the food to be pretty good once they get a full menu. From their "starter menu," it seems to be quite pricey, as the 3 hummus board costs $21. Hopefully it's worth it? I'll find out next time. read more

I checked this place out for the first time last Friday. It's in a hotel just for clarity. We went during "restaurant week". What we ordered was ridiculous. The chicken finger appetizer was 1.5 chicken breasts (huge portion for 2) with no plating etiquette, just fried chicken. Little did we know this would be the best part of the meal. Mind you the hat cocktails were great (still, $12-14? Lol). My salmon came out incredibly undercooked. Not like tuna undercooked, this thing was pan seared 30 secs/side I'm guessing. My partners steak was cooked in a butter bath that then then served. We asked to return the food, and went to dirty franks. I would never recommend the food here. Sure times are hard and the staffing shortage (July 2021) makes talented people at a serious cost. I don't know what happened but the other reviews might not be for the food? I don't know I don't recall in my life ever sending food back before until this place came along. 0/5 would not recommend. read more

Service was pretty slow on the weekends. I had my wedding guests here and with the influx of people coming/going at the same time I think it made the bar slower. They had 1 bartender at any given time even with an entire bar and restaurant full. Not necessarily the bartenders fault, but staffing seems to be an issue. The food I thought was tasty. We tried the loaded crispy potato barrels which were mashed potato balls with toppings. Hard to describe but tasted delicious. We also ordered a mushroom flatbread. Relatively small flatbread, about the size of a regular dinner plate. Taste of the flatbread was good. read more

Arrived late and there was only a late night menu option. Not a lot on it, but I chose the chef's special flatbread. It was delicious. Probably the best flatbread I've had. The bread wasn't too doughy or too crispy. It had a pesto sauce, mozzarella, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and seasoning. It was SO good in fact that I asked if I could have one to go for the next day. The cook has just left and the restaurant wasn't going to open until after I left the next day. Well, my server (Tuesday) and the bartender (Isaac) found a way to make it happen. Isaac actually went upstairs to the kitchen and made the to-go pizza himself, and it was because Tuesday had worked so hard to find someone to make it happen. I appreciate their efforts and I will again be thanking them tomorrow on my flight as I enjoy another chef's special flatbread. read more

Stayed at the Sonesta Columbus for the weekend. Vine is attached to the hotel lobby. Leighton met me at the entrance. I always do my best to follow the COVID safety guidelines, but I do find them to be fluid sometimes, but Leighton was incredibly helpful and patient. Isaac, was behind the bar and took my food order. His suggestions (street tacos) were amazing. They even customized my order to grilled cod. Tiaundra was also working and thought maybe I wasn't being taken care of while waiting and was incredibly gracious. The food was amazing, but honestly I'd come back here for the staff alone. Went there to pick up my wife's supplies for Be My Yelp Valentine: Drink & Dessert Pairing. The inside is beautiful. It was nice and warm, and "fire" going. This was a welcomed as it was extremely cold, and my wife loved the fire. Helped make the place inviting. Since no one was there when we arrived (number of reasons, very cold/snowy, plus covid and a week day), we decided to get a drink and enjoy. Drinks seemed on par for a bar in a hotel. My whiskey was $9 (I had the Templeton rye). The bar tender was nice, and they seemed to be following covid guidelines with staff wearing mask and such. read more
