MidSouth Construction installed a roof at our home in early 2025. In the 16 months since…read moreinstallation, we have experienced three separate leaks in three different areas of the house. They addressed two exterior leaks only after repeated pushing on our part. They completed one interior damage repair, but a second interior repair that MidSouth was responsible for was never scheduled despite our repeated requests. Since May 2025, we attempted to escalate to management at least three times. We were never provided contact information by either the project manager or the receptionist, and when we finally reached the office directly, we were told the Operations Manager would not speak with us. Management did not engage with us until July 2026, and only after we sent a formal written complaint. When they finally responded, their emails contained factual inaccuracies, including attributing statements to us that were never made and characterizing repair work as "courtesy visits in an effort to assist." Regardless of MidSouth's position on warranty coverage, the quality of customer service alone warrants this review. At no point in over a year did MidSouth proactively contact us with updates or solutions. Every step forward required us to initiate, often repeatedly.

The calamity that struck my house was the hail storm. It came with little warning and it was as disconcerting as it was brief as it was violent. When it was over, my screens were shredded and I had some paint damage. Seeing as that was all I could tell with my naked eye, I left it alone and kept it moving. That's when I noticed my neighbors getting roof assessments. I didn't want the headache so I tried to avoid it. But adulting doesn't let you skip out on the unpleasant things so I dove in to seeing what was what. Checking the Jelps, I found Bill Ragan and through Bill Ragan I found Chris. Chris was awesome. He walked me through what I could see and couldn't see. He had ladders, photos and information. He let me see that I sustained damage and needed a fix. When he gave me an estimated cost, I thought, 'I'm just gonna have to let this ride.' That's when he told me that insurance should cover it. Armed with that knowledge, I had an assessor come to the house. I was denied. Chris didn't let that be the end of the story. He convinced me to get an assessor second opinion. This time, he would be at my house when it happened. It did. He was. And I was approved for a new roof. The insurance company cut the check and I was on my way to a secured house cover. If I stopped the review here, it's an easy 5 stars. Chris was/is incredible. Unfortunately, Chris doesn't work on roofs. The crew came out (with Chris to introduce me to them and let me know what to expect) and they didn't share much of his ease, kindness or professionalism. They were unpleasant at best, rude at worst. A gentleman smoked a cigarette while he worked on my roof. The foreman was dismissive and unhelpful when I had questions. I texted Chris, who apologized, came on site and got the folks together but that wasn't his job. The job took two days and the install has held together fine (and the roof looks good). But being treated like trash in my own home is not something I take lightly. The crew did the work in mid-Fall. Thanks to climate change, it was still pretty warm out. Even so, I was preparing for my fall HVAC cleaning when I noticed a gap in the ceiling of my upstairs unit (in the attic). Not only that, connective piping from the unit had come undone in the roof work. I had a HVAC tech come out to fix the problem. He did so and showed me a few other pipe disconnections and gave me a horror story about carbon monoxide poisoning had I run the unit with the gaps and disconnections. Nightmare fuel. I texted the foreman. He went from unbothered to unresponsive. I went back to Chris who asked for photos, came out to inspect and brought Bill into the situation. Bill came out to my house, asked about what happened, listened, doubled checked the work (roof and HVAC) and covered the cost of repair. I appreciated that. And I appreciated Chris. But neither Bill nor Chris should have had to clean up a mess they didn't make.

The roof was replaced by the evening and the area around the house left clean. Bill even came out himself when an inspector thought he was problems. There were no problems because the roof was installed so well. The whole team is fantastic. Buying a new roof can be stressful but this team makes the process stress free.

I called Blur bird for an estímate for the repairs. Blue Bird sent out a Mr Underwood, I requested a quote for that repair and an additional estimate for under eave repair. He came me a quote for $900 for the metal piece and $700 for the eave repair. Way too much Blue Sky built into this quote. I got it repaired by another roof for a total of $550. My opinion is get multiple quotes, don't get rippt off

I needed a new roof not because of hail damage, but because my previous roof was worn down. That meant I would forego insurance and foot the entire bill for my roof. Gathering bids from seven different companies (and thwarting many "ambulance roofers" who swarmed around my door after a hail storm) allowed me to compare sales techniques, price points, and products. Underdog differentiated itself from their competition by their attention to detail. Generally speaking, I found most roofing representatives presented a cookie-cutter approach to replacing the roof. However, Underdog's representative inspected my roof as did the others, but he noticed an issue regarding my chimney's siding and my gutters guards that other companies did not. He sat down with me, showed me pictures of my roof and meticulously explained their process of re-roofing, emphasizing their particular method of removing old materials and cleaning up. Unlike other representatives, he was thorough in his explanation and did not engage in sale's gimmicks. I chose Underdog because they are a local company and their representative earned my trust by proclaiming how important they valued their reputation for quality and service and would work to impress me. I researched the company on the internet, as well as the product they were selling me. Everything came out stellar, so I hired them. They did not disappoint. The representative visited with me a second time to go over any questions I had about the contract and to show me samples and pictures so that I was sure of my choice of shingle color. The contract included a section of what to know and expect during the roof replacement. That helped me prepare my home and yard for their arrival. He listened to my concerns and eased my worries about the process. We worked out a price point that fit my budget. (Note: most companies did not do that.) The replacement went very well. They arrived on time, the crew worked like synchronized swimmers all day, and by the time they left at sundown, I had a new roof and a noticeably clean yard. I scoured my yard a few times to find a single handful of debris. Amazing! The workers respected my property and plants and were polite whenever I interacted with them. Later, another representative came out to inspect the quality of their work to ensure it met their professional standards. Within the week, I noticed a couple concerns relating to my gutter guards. They immediately responded and fixed the issues, going far above and beyond what I expected. In my experience, Underdog Roofing actually practices a solid customer first strategy.
