Where should I start on this review of shoddy work? Let's start with the gaps in the floor that they say are supposed to be there. Let's move on to the humps in the floor that they blame on it being a "floating floor" then of course the installer manger Tony that they send out to cover his mediocre workers butts because he doesn't understand good work. Tony also will call you stupid for not understanding floating floors. We can now move on to the tile that is not centered properly in the room it was laid and the carpet layers that can't hide a seam. I have spoken with Mohawk in regard to my revwood flooring and they have told me that when installed properly their flooring product is waterproof. But not carpet den, they don't believe the manufacturer. I highly suggest you go somewhere else to get your flooring needs because there are plenty of places that will treat you like a paying customer. carpet den loves that they have a 97% positive rating, all I can say is do you really want to be the 3% that they screw over! truth be told i would give less than one star if i could. We had a terrible experience with this company. our sales lady was nice and professional, but the subbed-out labor and project manager did not leave us with anything other than a terrible experience. rather than write everything out, ill copy and paste our detailed complaint to carpet den's management team to which we still have not received a response. a one-week job turned into a month of work. I do not recommend this company to anyone. the house issues still were not 100% taken care of correctly or properly addressed and ultimately, we signed off on everything just because we didn't want them in our house any longer. Here is our letter. Decide for yourself. i hope if you go with them, you have a better experience than us but we will never use them again. As you know, we have already had conversations with you in email, text, and over the phone regarding our flooring project. We thought it would be best to write to you in detail regarding our experience since it has unfortunately been a negative one. We are disappointed with our project for the reasons listed below. There were multiple issues from the start and throughout the entirety of the project. First, the initial proposed schedule was that this project was only supposed to take a week, with 1-2 days in the middle designated for our general contractor Eric to tighten some screws in the subfloor. However, due to multiple issues with the subcontractor Yuri, the project did not follow the schedule. Work was started on Tuesday 5/28/24, and is still ongoing. Yuri's portion should have only taken a few days for demo and install, but the project is currently unfinished with a hope of completion for Wednesday or Thursday this week by a different installer. That makes 22 days as of today, and 24 days total if we are able to move back into our home on Thursday this week. This past Thursday, 6/13, I checked out my dog from boarding, as they no longer had room for an unexpected extension, recording a total of 17 days of stay. This project went well beyond twice the length of the proposed schedule. For close to 2 weeks, there were additional costs incurred due to being displaced from our home for dog boarding fees, meal costs, and other misc items since we did not have the best access to our home and belongings. Fortunately, we had somewhere to stay, or there would have been hotel costs on top of that. As you know, we have a 9 month old and a three year old, and being displaced from their home has caused disruptions in sleep as well as a change in behavior since they can't fully grasp what is going on. All they know is they aren't home, when we told them we would only be going away for a few days. In addition, Kayla works from home and has not been able to access her office and equipment as easily than if we were not displaced, and it has created work challenges for her. When it comes to the first attempt of installing our LVP, the quality of labor by Yuri's crew was beyond dissatisfying. Not due to any existing nature of the house itself, there were many areas where we stood firm on problems with the floor. We felt we had to fight to have our concerns addressed and not be dismissed. The first issue was our laundry room was not installed with the LVP, but was left demoed and we were told the work was complete. Along with that, multiple planks were cut too short from the wall, beyond what baseboard/shoe mold would cover, leaving gaps at the wall that were beyond tolerance. There were joints in multiple locations that were not flush, leaving the boards to make popping noise as if they weren't secured properly. Gaps were left between planks large enough to see the subfloor below. Our entryway had a lack of color blending with 9 or so planks, all light colored, making an eyesore in our main walkway. Yuri replaced some planks, but we are worried they are damaged as that area pops and creaks when you walk on it now. Lastly, our house was left in deplorable condition upon "completion." Yuri's team didn't even run a simple broom over the floor and they left garbage inside and outside the house in multiple locations. The dirt, dust, nails, staples, and debris left is what made the gaps between planks even more noticeable. We outlined these issues in our prior emails if you need further explanation. These examples all show evidence of poor workmanship and lack of quality control. Rather than take us seriously, Yuri and Matt initially tried to tell us that no floor would be perfect and there are tolerances for our examples. Only when we stood firm, and spoke with you, did Ryan/Yuri seem to relent and attempt to work with us. read more

We had a bonus area in our upper level that we wanted to have wood flooring installed in. I called Carpet Den and Brittni was at our home the next day. Our job wasn't huge, only half of the room was getting the flooring. This did not affect Brittni's engagement or professionalism! She helped us to pick out a near perfect match to existing stairs. We were given a date and time that they would drop the flooring, install it and re-tuck the existing carpeting. (3 separate events) every step was right on time. Brittni continued to stay in touch to ensure that we were satisfied with the progress. I will definitely contact Carpet Den if I have a future need for flooring. You should do the same! Disappointing. Carpet Den did a large project at a previous home, so we had no hesitation in stopping by their location when we decided it was time to update our foyer and front stairway. I was quickly assisted in picking out a design and the tile and carpet came in quickly and were installed within 3 weeks of my initial visit. The tile being placed connected to my husband's office that has hardwood flooring. In the process of laying the tile, part of the wood was removed. After realizing the extra wood we had remaining was not the same size, it was suggested we would need to replace the wood in the entire room. Instead of offering to try and fix the wood with someone experienced with wood flooring we were left with no options or offers to help. Luckily, we have a friend who is a skilled woodworker who fixed the mess. We were also told the trim would be replaced and repainted and the area would be cleaned. While the trim was replaced, it was left unpainted and we were left to foot the bill for the mess. In addition to this, we were left with 7 boxes of the large tiles (about 50% of the amount used). An extra box or two would be reasonable but this is unheard of, especially given the price of this tile. We have about $1,200 worth of extra tile. After asking about this, I was never contacted again. We also have a substantial amount of carpeting leftover. I would highly recommend requesting to see measurements and quantities being ordered if you're have new flooring installed as you will be stuck with whatever extra they choose to order for you. I had other upcoming projects and disappointed that we will need to find somewhere else to shop. Customer service is key. Instead of having a repeat customer, I've shared this negative experience with other would-be customers. read more

We recently had to purchase new carpet for our condo, it was approximately 600 square feet that we needed to replace. Brian (sales) spoke with my wife and myself several times and walked us through many options. We settled on a Mohawk product that we felt checked all of the boxes for our preferences. We were in the middle of a restoration project and Carpet Den gladly held our product for a coupe of weeks until we could have it installed. On the day of installation the crew called approximately 10 minutes before arrival, had the old carpet and pad removed within minutes, and the new pad and carpet installed very quickly. The crew was polite and professional answering any questions we had about the installation. Wow, I had a totally different experience from some other reviewers. We were looking at several different flooring stores to redo our house, but decided on Carpet Den because 1) they were priced competitively, 2) the salesperson (Lisa) knew what she was talking about and helped us choose laminate and carpet that we are very happy with, and 3) we were treated like real people. We had two other companies come out to measure and they were... snooty? And gave very little feedback on design options. It was strange. We actually gave up a deposit so we could go with Carpet Den. The install went smoothly and according to plan. All the installers were friendly and did good work. There were a couple nitpicky details that I thought could be better, but one call to Lisa and they were back out to take care of it. I really appreciated their responsiveness to what, ultimately, were very minor things. We plan to do our bathrooms next. We will be using Carpet Den! read more

For high ticket or contractor jobs this vendor may have a different approach. What I found when in need of a relatively small order for hardwood flooring, cash and carry - no installation, was an aloof staff that seemed put out doing their job. Upon my first visit I was told that no one was available in flooring and was welcome to look for myself. I ultimately found what I needed, paid for it, and went to pick it up - secured the "pick ticket" at the retail desk and after driving to the warehouse round back found no one there to provide the goods. Expect to fend for yourself and work to get the service you need. I can't imagine a more poorly run independent business. I can only imagine that large contract sales drive the business because walk in and customer service are very low priority. I will never spend money here again and would advise you look for alternatives before visiting here. read more

Oy. I don't know where to start. Throughout my time working with Carpet Den, I have been more frustrated than satisfied but in order to avoid making this review a rambling mess of 'and then he...' and 'oh yeah. FORGOT this happened too...', I'll focus on one series of unfortunate circumstances that led me to this star rating. For months, I'd had an issue that needed to be rectified. I would call the builder, the builder would tell me to call the flooring people. I'd call the flooring people, they'd tell me to call the builder. Rinse. Repeat. Again, after months of this back and forth, imagine my surprise one morning when a crew of workers showed up at my house ready to fix the issue. :-/ Okay. Fine. Let's do this. Forgetting that the inconvenience to my schedule was real, I just wanted to get things handled. The crew of six guys barreled into my home without so much as a good morning. So this is how this is going to go. I spoke with the crew leader and went over what needed to happen. Since they were working on my floors and I sort of have this habit of walking on them and having heavy (and expensive furniture on them), we had a situation at the start. There was no plan on what to do with my things, how to manage the job or how to best accommodate and expedite the process. While this was going on, I had workers going into my fridge, throwing (yes, throwing my things about) and using my restroom without asking. They were also speaking in Spanish whilst engaging in said behavior. During my 2.5 years in Miami, I picked up a few skills. One of which was Spanish. I keep it to myself because it's always nice to know what people really think about you. So, whilst these workers were disrespecting me and my home with their actions, they were also doing so with their words. Completely unacceptable. You can say what you want to say about me all you want. You will not come into my home, where I pay the mortgage and all the bills, disrespect my property and disrespect me - to my face. I'd had enough. I responded to the latest insult - in Spanish - and things went quiet. The guys chose to break for lunch. I called Carpet Den. I told my contact what happened and how appalled I was because of it. Post-lunch, the most egregious actor returned to work in my house. He wasn't sent home. The crew leader never apologized. Things moved on as though they never happened. Livid. I was livid. Granted, this fellow didn't return to my house in the following days but he shouldn't have come back at all. He should have been let go on the spot. He - someone, anyone - should have apologized. That didn't happen. This was handled all wrong. Like I mentioned, I had six guys in my house and while they a.) spilled ardex down my a/c vent; b.) damaged my basement ceiling but their sloppy work on my main floor flooring; c.) left nails sticking out of the wall where baseboards once protected passers by; d.) showed up late on subsequent work days (one day arriving at 12 noon for an 8:30 am start time); e.) lounged on my furniture like it was theirs; and f.) took phone calls and gabbed like they were on a party line, they were unable to complete the work for which they were hired. I called Carpet Den again. One of their master installers came out, assessed the situation and we were on our way. I thought. Why wasn't this guy in my home? He was polite, learned, skilled, and capable. I wanted him. I got the do-nothing crew again. I finally had enough and had the job substantially completed by 2 of the builder's guys. These two fellows got the job done that, for three prior days, hadn't been nearly accomplished by 5-6 guys. How does that make sense? Oh, and during this ten day process (I had to go out of town for work in the middle. Why? The schedule was never confirmed prior to going down this road), I didn't have use of my kitchen because my furniture was there. So, no dishes. No oven. No cooking. No washing dishes. Did I mention they broke a cup of mine and HID it? Did I mention this cup was part of my parents' wedding set and long since discontinued? Nightmarish. Amateurish. Unprofessional. I have no idea why, rather than keeping an inefficient and rude crew (and a crew that wasn't working) on a job, the CD people managing this mess didn't replace them with people who could do the job without insulting the customer and causing more damage. By the time it was all over, the supervisor (while disavowing that he could have done any more to mediate the situation) called me to offer a discount on future work with Carpet Den. That's okay. We've used them for retiling our master bathroom, ripping out the carpet in master bedroom and upstairs hallway and replacing them with hardwood. The main problem was the lack of supervision. I told everyone the color I wanted but I sure did not get it. I do not recommend them at all. When you complain, you get insulted. They send out non English speakers with whom you cannot communicate and then blame you for the problem. I am not blaming the workers it is the management. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT AT ALL ! All they want is to blame you for their lack of knowledge and supervision. I asked for light color floors. I got the same yellow floors I had before. And then got told thAt there was no way I could have what I wanted. A quick internet search proved that I could easily have had it. It just requires one more step . Did they know or suggest that? DO NOT USE if you are looking for quality carpet and service. We went looking for high quality carpet to replace our current carpet before we listed our house. We had a representative come out and she recommended a carpet that was half as much. Seemed great but the carpet has snagged in several spots within the first week. Even worse, they sent a tech out to look at it. After rescheduling he cut it and it raveled. Then they proceeded to tell me not to vacuum it. No answer except to patch it and it would look ten times worse. When we reached out we were told we were "over reacting". When we tried to call the manager several times he didn't return the calls. We've had to replace the carpet with another vendor and ultimately spend more than if we would have stuck to what we wanted vs what they recommended. Got a prompt response when we asked for someone to measure and give us an estimate. We were able to agree on an installation date. The workers called before arriving each day, and were always on time. They were very careful with our furnishings, and they worked hard to keep the construction dust and debris to a minimum. I called Carpet Den in Franklin during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I was able to complete the entire transaction, including installation of the carpet, without leaving my home. The day I called, I spoke to a salesman, Brian Keiffer, about my vision for recarpeting my two staircases. Later that afternoon, on his way home from Carpet Den, Brian stopped by my condo with samples which excellently reflected the vision I'd described on the phone. Brian spent ample time with me and my husband, trying the samples in different lights, discussing the colors and the installation options. The next day Brian called with quotes, and having made my choice, I paid half in anticipation of my carpet being ordered (as it was not in stock). In about a month, my carpet was delivered to Carpet Den and my credit card was charged for the remainder of the bill. I had some concern about paying the entire invoice before installation, but there was no reason to worry. On installation day, Carpet Den sent Adrian from Wall to Wall Carpeting, and he not only arrived on time, but did a fabulous job on both staircases with printed carpet. It was raining that day, and since there was no place big enough in the condo to cut the carpet, Adrian drove to a local business where he knew the owner, spread out the carpet and cut it based on measurements of our stairs, and then loaded it back up to drive to our condo to install it. The next day Adrian returned to wrap the carpet edges around the outside of the stairs, and he picked up 1X2 wooden board at Home Depot to make the wrapped edges perfect. In short, the carpet is perfect, Carpet Den and Brian did a wonderful job of listening to me and responding promptly, and Adrian's installation was practically perfect. From the level of service we received, you'd think I was some kind of big deal with a lot of money to spend, but Carpet Den certainly treated me that way. When you call, be sure to ask for Brian Keiffer as your sales person, and request that Adrian be your installer! read more
