Terrible. This company took our money and never did the work. 17k. Now they are out of business. We have been asking for a refund of our deposit for months. Signed a contract in June 2021 for four doors and one window and gave $12,000 deposit. We were told it would be around November before they would be in and installed. It wasn't until I contacted the BBB in June of 2022 that they would even communicate with us. Then they told us that it would be mid to late October (2022) for install. Then there was Hurricane Ian and I knew this would be their next excuse. After that they wouldn't even answer calls or emails from the BBB. Now I'm being told they have filed bankruptcy. Years of savings out the window. FYI....if you call sales, sales person Ernie will still answer your calls and make appointments. ODD! While the product is very good, with the exception of the same window cracking twice, and considering the backlog, the after sales service is awful. I had to threaten to take them to small claims court for having someone else possibly come in to fix water damage from a mis-measured window that was too small. The day I made that threatening call, Sean who handles service called me back almost immediately to schedule service for that week. I said it didn't even need to be that soon, as long as I was scheduled. Service person never showed. Three messages left for Sean, no call back. I'll do one more try tomorrow, especially now that yet another replacement window will need to be ordered. All they need to do is communicate. That seems impossible for them. Schedule ne for June, but show up or reschedule. Now they will have to honor the warranty for the broken window and hopefully fix the damage. Otherwise, they won't be the first company I've sued. read more

First off, I'll concede that home improvement contractors are currently very busy in SW Florida, so staying fast on one's own feet is a great idea, especially if you're not a year-round resident and are dealing from a distance. Anyhow, the field crews that I worked with were skilled and bent on doing the job right. I enjoyed working with them. The patio door and window products look to be of high quality and low maintenance. Based on some other specialty contractor experience of mine, you can have good crews that are undercut by the back office in terms of ordering the right things in a timely manner, among other things. The key to having a good experience with Storm Shield Ft. Myers, is getting in touch with Dawn McNichol, the Office Team Leader early and often. She can keep tabs on scheduling and (I am assuming based on my before/after Dawn experience) when appropriate, deliver loving dope-slaps where needed. So, it's all who you (get to) know. Dawn and the field crews are getting the three stars, both as deserved recognition and hopefully an inspiration to some others (who could realistically get the other two stars with a little). If you get in with Dawn and the staff first, you'll likely 4 or 5 star it. read more

My husband and I contacted this company and set up an appointment to get a quote on replacing our sliders with hurricane sliders. The appointment was made and the evening before the company called my husband's cell phone number instead of mine to confirm the appointment. He told them he would not be at the meeting but that I would. They refused to make an appointment without him being present. That, to me, discriminates against me as a female/wife, and prohibits me from getting the information needed. Do not do business with a company with these policies. read more

I ordered new hurricane impact windows, took several months to get them, installed one with a major crack on the outside impact window. Called to find out when they would replace it, they said didn't know about it till I called to check on it, ordering then, and would be another 4 weeks. Now, after Hurricane, crack is all the way across window, and no one answers any phone, one number is disconnected. I never should have paid the full amount owed till they replaced that window, I now realize. NOT HAPPY. read more

We had new windows installed by Storm Shield of Ft Myers in late February. There are a few minor things that needed to be addressed after install, and one window that needs to be reseated. The window was initially put in not level so there was a small gap and when the window was open it was crooked. Installer unscrewed and the rescrewed the framed with extra screws and over tightened them. Now the frame of the window is slightly bowed. 3 weeks later now March, they come back made a few adjustments, but not the window. The guy/kid said he wasn't sure what to do, I said the only option is a new window. He called whomever is in charge, which I believe is the receptionist because no one in management or owner Keith is EVER in the office, nor do they return phone calls. So here we are in May, my window is not fixed, no final inspection from the county which means the permit isn't closed. I know permit is only good for 6 months. STORM SHIELD of Ft Myers 1 star is too good for them! read more

We ordered 2 doors and a window in Nov of 2020, installed in Oct of 2021 its now March of 2022 they have been a no show at least 5 times and the two times they came post installation they have not corrected all the items listed on our request to repair letters post installation. Still have stickers on the windows and doors have not had final inspection. Door locks don't work, doors difficult to close. Very frustrated with this company they are not responsive when you call and they call make appointments and do not show up. They do not even come close to their written satisfaction guarantee or your money back. I would not recommend them to anyone read more

May 2020 I signed a contract to have all my windows and doors to be replaced. We chose Storm shield over the others due to having some stucco band repairs done. Our sales specialist John F. Confirmed with the owner, Keith, over speaker phone in our dining room, Storm Shield will repair. So of course we paid for stucco band repair for the front of house. Measurements were done and documented on the fully executed contract. Jay (sales mgr.) came out first day of installation to explain they dont do stucco band repair. I told him that is not what Keith or john had said prior to contract and paid. He said would look into the refund of band repair. He never reached out to me ever again after that day. Our new front door seal is not air tight..see pictures. This whole ordeal which was told be 2 days took 3 months because no one and I mean no one will return your call or your emails. Made 2 huge holes in our roof soffit....took over a month to fix. We had to call in another contactor and pay for the repairs that Storm shield damage. The office manager Dawn was extremely nasty to us once payment was made. The suckiest of sucky business ever dealt with. read more

I have a gf but since she was not there he did not want to do appointment. I said it was my decision. He went on and on about how the 2nd person needs to be here (even though this is my house only). Sexist. Misogynistic. At my request for wanting hurricane glass for our house, my wife called Storm Shield to schedule a time to come out to our house. They saw the house was in my name, and they told my wife that it was required that I be there for them to show us the glass and give an estimate. My wife tried to explain my work schedule, however they said it was necessary because she would "need permission" from the husband to approve the glass. Need permission?!? This conversation went back and forth, and finally she said that if I needed to be there, we would go with a different company. They proceeded to schedule a time to come out and get a quote. The day before they were to come out, they called and I asked if I would be there. When she said I would not be there, they cancelled. -- They can offer to meet me after work or on the weekend, but it doesn't matter... I will not give our money to a company that will be disrespectful to my wife today (or my daughter tomorrow). read more

Initially we were told installation was 4 to 5 months out. Not happy with that but we accepted. After we made our deposit (50%) and they came out to measure Sean claims he told us more like 6 months now. They finally started installation after 8 months and the owner advised it would take 2 days. The installers worked hard but were concerned about losing their jobs if they did not get it done on time. Since they are in Fort Myers and we are in Naples they started around 10:00AM every day. 2 days turned into 5 days and they were slapping things together as quick as they could to save their job. When they replaced the doors they used the old trim and coated it with layers of caulk to cover all of the imperfections. Caulk corners are as much as an inch wide. I asked Sean to have them come back and fix the crooked trim on the entrance door and he said they would. I have left messages and sent texts and Sean no longer returns my calls. They boast a very strong warranty but it does not seem like they will be responsive if we need them. read more
