Had a spring break on a large, heavy 10ft garage door and needed to get it replaced. Planned on purchasing the springs and doing it ourselves, but it was going to take us a week to get the parts, so reached out to Action Automatic at the recommendation of a neighbor to check their pricing. They had product in stock and could handle it next day. It was more expensive than doing it ourselves, but not significantly and it would have taken us a good chunk of the day to get it handled so we had them come out. Elliott and Michael came today and were amazing! They were friendly, hard working, knowledgeable, on time, didn't try to up-sell us and charged us exactly what was quoted. Being handy people, we often witness shortcuts or questionable skills in repair people (which is why we do it ourselves), but no issues at all with Elliott and Michael. They were fantastic! I requested a service call for my electric gate opener. I was told it would $200 service charge and if the work was done then it would round into the cost of the job. The repairman stated I needed a new 24 volt ARM for the gate. My current one was only 12 volt. When i got the quote for the repairs it was $3600. A new 24 volt completed system is $2300 and the ARM only is $500 to $700. I would not recommend this company. read more

These guys are all about selling you new equipment and not about fixing what you already have. I have an X9 Viking access system for our front gate. Double doors, inward swinging. Slave side was acting up. It was Stopping midway, Not opening and Opening slowly. Action Automatic sends out their techs. Two young guys in their EARLY 20's. I definitely didn't get the seasoned 40 year old tech with 20 years under his belt. So one of the young guys tells me my system is a "mess". I asked for clarification and he tells me it's old and the problem could be "anywhere". So I awaited the completion of what they considered to be a diagnostic and they said the problem was a bad motor on the slave side. They told me their office would price me out a new motor if that's what I wanted. What I got was a quote for a whole new $6000 system. I didn't want a new system. I just wanted the part that was broken to be fixed. So instead I decide to go online and find the motor I need for $1200, buy it and install it myself. This did not solve the problem. Exact same issues. Frustrated that Action Automatic Door was incorrect in their diagnosis and that I spent over $1000 I likely didn't need to, I dig further and discover that the limit switches are badly corroded. I order a set, (sold in a pair) and install them myself. $40 dollars. Problem solved. Gate works beautifully. But because of their poor advice I replaced a motor that wasn't bad. So, $1200 wasted. This company didn't take the time to see if it could have been the limit switches, which are easily accessible to anyone doing a diagnostics check of all connection points. So instead of checking the proper functionality of these components they tell me my system is an old and beyond its usable/serviceable life and it wouldn't be worth spending money on it. They advised I should strongly consider buying a new system for $6000 so I could get all the "warranty coverages that go with it." It just didn't seem right that they couldn't find the problem. So I dug deeper and discovered the corroded limit switches. I then replaced them, fixing the gate/access system myself. My system does have a few years on it, but aside from the outer covers having weathered from the sun, the control board is pristine. The motors ran strong. They tried to convince me I needed new equipment. I didn't. What I needed was a quality service company, willing and able to fix issues, even if small. The problem with so many service companies in Naples like this one is that when you call them, you don't actually get service. You get a salesperson disguised as a service tech. The problem with my system wasn't overly complex, AT ALL. An honest tech with knowledge on gates and access systems would have found the problem within the first 15 minutes. Bottom line. Don't expect them to fix your gate problem if they think they can sell new equipment instead. read more

Terrible company. They have been out numerous times to fix our garage doors and they still do not work properly. I requested the manager to be involved because no one seems to be able to fix the issue. Our doors open and close on their own and we have several error messages on the system. Such as motor errors and excessive opening and closing errors that show up on the system causing the doors to go up and down non stop. The only way to stop them from opening and closing is to manually lock them from working. Otherwise they will go up and down on their own for hours. Our doors are brand new, on a new build home we purchased, which now is currently two years old, Action installed the the doors, and they are still under warranty, and this company has been out numerous times for the same problem with no avail. This is by far the worst company I have ever worked with. They simply don't know what they are doing and don't care about the customer. read more

What a terrible company! I bought a new garage door and opener from them soon after Ian. (not sure why) Their price wad $5500... an insulated flush door... no windows, no decorative stamping and an electric opener. The gal that I was caused to interact with was an incredibly miserable person... Annette. I placed my order in November of 2022 and was given an install date of May 2023... about 6 months. Of course, they required that "SW Florida" usual 50% deposit. (I guess if they go bust it's too bad for us) Installation day came. Of course, the installers were typical SW Florida non-American "laborers". They were not craftsmen. They were nice enough guys but they possessed a minimum command of the english language. I am sorry to say but, by and large, I find that Central and South American migrants simply come from an entirely different culture than that which we live to in the United States. Accordingly, their attention to detail is quite unlike our own. It's the little things like placing ceiling bracketing square to the space and employing a level to mount controls and head wall bracketing. And let's not forget about thoroughly removing "door-edge" labels and protective plastic wrapping. DID YOU EVER TRY DOING THAT AFTER THE DOOR IS INSTALLED WITH TRACKS AND RAILS IN YOUR WAY??? Frankly, I just performed that task which is what caused me to write this review! For $5500, it pissed me off! Bottom line is that I would not recommend this company. It is clear that owners/management do not have an appropriate training program in place for neither their sales people or their operations people. This company is a scam! Had them replace a spring last year, right hand side. Looking at receipt shows r hand. Broke again this year same spring, called them. They send same technicians "Azael G" says he will replace the right spring again but this time with bigger spring. He finishes and asks for payment I said it should be under warranty he gets aggressive in my garage so I figure pay him. Get rid of him and call company and explain it's the same spring. The said it was the other side and if I didn't agree I should not have paid them. They told me I was confused as to which spring was broken. A local fire department needed commercial bay door service after hours. The charge is $900 to show up, per call taker, and $180 each 30 minutes thereafter. I believe in paying and supporting local business top dollar for stellar service, however, I would like to know how a $900 service call, just to arrive on site, is palatable, to anyone? SCAM Alert Do not use Action for your SWF garage door service. I requested a quote for a Wayne Dalton torque master replacement . I was told $299. Now, the parts cost is only about $100 and labor time is under an hour. Upon arrival, the technician didn't bring the correct part and wanted to convert me to a regular torsion spring but the price went up to $499. Again, $100 in parts and less than an hour labor time. So Action is charging me $400/hour labor. No thanks. I called back to the office and they were unwilling to work with me. What a shame and a sham. Follow up. Next company I called was D&D. They completed the job for $275. Go figure read more

He was fast, extremely competent and efficient. In about an hour he serviced all three of our doors, fixed an eye problem with one and programmed a difficult opener for me. The technicians are awesome. The issue I have is their scheduling. I have gates to enter my property. There have been 2 occasions when manual system did not work after auto openers did not work either. The customer service person gave me an an appointment 2 days later. I said I can't get out of my property. She said " I am sorry, no one available. I had to throw a fit to get someone out here. They then installed new openers which are very expensive and guess what? Now they don't shut. I called again today. She said openings 2 days later. They do not offer prompt service. If you are locked in your property and gates don't work they don't care. If new openers don't work and you can't shut your gates for security they give you appointments 2 days later. If it was not under warranty I would hope to another company. read more

Had someone out to measure and give me a quote and they never got back to me. I even tried following up twice! Ridiculous.

Very pleased. I called them this morning and they arrived around noon. Even sooner than they were supposed to. My garage door had dropped while opening last night. A potentially very dangerous situation. I thought the spring had broken. Turns out that my cars luggage rack on top must have hooked the release rope a little and the next time I opened it it completely released. Because it (probably) hadn't been serviced in years the tension was so loose that it just fell. I was taking my dog for a walk and thankfully she wasn't under the door. The technician fixed it by tightening it up and shortening the release rope. He also lubricated it and I had him change the little wheels as they were getting bad, at his suggestion. While they were here I asked him to change the bottom strip which definitely needed it. No more little frogs. He showed me how, now that it was tightened up, if it ever accidentally gets pulled again it won't drop. He suggested that I get my door serviced every year for a discounted price. I will take his advice. Very quiet and smooth now. Highly recommend!!!! read more
