We recently had all the windows in our home replaced with impact resistant windows by Stormfitters. Our project presented a few unique challenges they had to overcome. We had very some old wooden arch windows that were installed in a strange way. We had windows next to French doors replaced with additional French door panels instead of windows. Finally we have a wood frame house that had all wooden Anderson windows, the sizes of which were very inconsistent. We had 3 different companies quote us on the job, including one high pressure company that offered a $5,000 discount if "sign up tonight". We chose Stormfitters based on their reputation and reviews and were pleasantly surprised to find their price as good or better than the others ... lower than the so called discount company by quite a margin. From the beginning of the sales cycle to completion of the job, Stormfitters was a professional, courteous and friendly company to deal with. The long lead time to start the install (4 months, which is pretty typical) had us skeptical about starting on time ... they did. The installers did a great job within the quoted timeframe and were responsive to any questions or ideas I had. The inside finishing was very tricky in spots, especially those arch windows and again the job was done very well as they told me, for each window how they were going to approach the job. We also added a skylight to the job which resulted in a very fairly priced change order. I would very much recommend Stormfitters for any window replacement job. read more

Update: Storm fitters sold to West Shore Homes Summer 2022. The story given is that Bill Covington (owner storm fitters) declined to sell the warranty guarantee for his existing customers to West Shore. West Shore doesn't honor the previous warranty -no matter how recently windows were installed. West Shore didn't buy these warranty's and we the customers are left with no support for our failing and failed windows. What a deal for both of those companies; what a bust for all of their customers. read more

Ordered windows & storm shutters in Nov-Dec 2021. I was told 16-20 weeks out for install. Neither job has been completed & it's June 2022. Permits have not been closed for the work that was done & it's impossible to get someone to return a call or email. They always have some excuse why nobody has been keeping in touch. I have paid them the majority of the $$ and they basically want to keep waiting without any idea of how long it will be and no timeframe to complete the project. read more

Very Disappointed! On July 11, 2018 we ordered a plastpro entry door and side lites from Stormfitters. The sales process went fine, and the sales person indicated the door would not be ready for at least 2 months. No problem. Around Sept 10, 2018 I called to check on the door and the door was ready. Installation was scheduled for Sept 13. However we received a call from the operations manager the morning of the install stating he checked the order and one of the of the side lites was poorly manufactured so they would need to cancel the installation. However he indicated the manufacturer is in Orlando, and the product is a stock item, and they could get us new side lites quickly within the next couple days and he would follow up. Several days passed and we heard nothing despite multiple calls that were not returned. After about a month we received a call from the office indicating the side lite arrived and we scheduled the install for October 12. On October 12 the installers arrived at our house and removed our entry door. However they realized the door they had to install was not correct so the install was shut down. As a result, the installers put our original entry door back in place and left. This was extremely frustrating. We received a call from the operations manager the same day as the aborted install. He indicated he was sorry but the door did not match the order and he knows we ordered in July but we should not be upset because he has orders for doors outstanding since March (8 months ago). When asked why stormfitters sat on our door for a month without checking to see if the order was correct he explained two things: 1. He was unaware that Stormfitters had the door since early September. 2. Stormfitters does not check orders they receive from suppliers to verify if they match their invoice for safety reasons. Keep in mind this is the same person that called us in September cancelling our first install because he checked our order and relayed a side lite was poorly manufactured. So not only did Stormfitters know the door had arrived but they also checked the order. This scenario is completely unacceptable, and 100% Stormfitters responsibility. We are going to talk again early next week to address our order. We expect a satisfactory resolution, and for Stormfitters to live up to the quote from their CEO, "for performing the highest quality work with a customer centric attitude". Simply reordering the door waiting several more months and hoping this does not happen again several months down the line is not a satisfactory solution. We will be sure to keep all of our social channels and reviews updated with the final resolution. read more

I had condo windows and sliding door windows installed first of February. They made me pay all money up front. Bad mistake, as they never called inspector for month then did not do trim work for weeks. One of windows did not work, not stay up, and the service man finally came out 2 months later to fix it, now it does not open!! Very upset with service as I call several times week and service manager will not send anyone out to fix this window. read more

I ordered a new set of hurricane resistant front entry doors on September 28,2018. I was quoted 4 to 6 weeks for installation by the Jeff, sales person. While the quote was nearly $7,000.00, about $400.00 above the bid I received from a competitor I had used before, I went with them(after reviewing their positive website )due to their quoted leadtime. After many follow up calls we finally got the doors installed in early December. The installation was horrible. (0ics attached)The doors hung crooked and they damaged the moldings and my front porch tile in the installation. In their attempts to rectify the problems they drilled additional holes in the moldings and then beat the hinges to bend and angle to close more tightly. Really?? For $7k on the entry of a $1m plus home? I called the management several times to get someone out to resolve. Bret, their GM, was responsive after many emails and a couple of calls. Bottom line after months of grief I called to pay the final balance today. ( they finished the work on 1/15/19 by throwing some putty in the fastener holes which will need to be redone by my painter). I spoke with Steve , who asked for a check or wanted to charge me a 3% convenience fee on my Visa. I told him a bit of my story and he relented. Case closed. I spent $30k with a competitor for a full house hurricane window installation 4 years ago and received white glove service.....so I my service expectations are not unreasonable. If you want grief you should shop Stormfitters. read more

I would have given five stars if the initial customer service had been great, it wasn't. However, Brett made all the difference! Our windows & 10 foot slider are complete. The installers were knowledgeable and professional! There were some issues, ( things happen), and Brett made sure all issues were resolved to our satisfaction! The Windows and doors are excellent quality! Of note.one window in our condo was replaced by another firm, the install on that was problematic. That outperform since corrected it, six hours of our list time. Stormfitters, install was all done correctly the first time! Thank you Brett, Miles & Corey! John and Jason did our install and they were fantastic! The windows are great, cut our Duke bill which was noticeable. We shopped and received quotes from several companies and Storm Fitters made the cut. Our house was built in 1925 and had the original windows. The new PGT windows look at first glance like the old windows and are so much more energy efficient and hurricane ready. Thanks Storm Fitters! We highly recommend them. read more

Very few construction jobs associated with this house have I regretted more than this one. They started the job in 2018, and they've not finished yet. They left construction materials in our living room, and one of the impact windows is shattered. Their claim is my yard service damaged the window. I have no yard service, and I certainly didn't do it myself. I've called them over and over and they said a rep from the glass maker would call. He never did. I called them back and they said the owner would call. He never did. Do not use this company, they do not follow up. If anything goes wrong, you're abandoned. read more

With hurricane season approaching, please be careful when using Stormfitters. We had crank operated roll down shutters installed and the first time we needed them, they would not roll down. I called the sales rep that serviced us and he was quite surprised. When the repair crew arrived, the foreman said they would have to take the roll downs apart which meant going through the lanai screen. They found that mud daubers had nested in all three devices creating a cement like nest making operation impossible. He said it was quite common and a source of many of their repairs. When I questioned the sale rep why this was not mentioned, he said he had never heard of it - strange. Bottom line, we have to operate the shutters about every other day to keep the mud daubers out - a real inconvenience. What bothers us most is that the sales person totally contradicted what the repair foreman said. Please be careful - the repairs are costly and Stormfitters was no help whatsoever. Beware! read more

My husband and I remodel a condo on south shore and spent a lot of money to make it nice we ended up replacing all the windows and sliders with floor to ceiling slider to say the least they were very expensive!! We have 2 homes and have to schedule a time to be at this condo so the first time was supposed to take 3-4 days to complete the entire condo they show up and can only do 1 slider in one day -1of the 2 which was the smaller one 4 guys 1 slider all day; they get a call and said not sure if they can come back the next day it will be only 2 people and they will work on the bigger slider if they come they show up 2 hours late, the guys tell me the kitchen bay window we're ordered in the wrong color so it will be another 4 weeks for them, fast forward 4 weeks we call to confirm 9-10 am install because we have to take time off work and drive to the other coast yep we are good we were told. At 9am they called said they will be running late 12 o'clock is the earliest ok it's now 1pm I called woman said they left 20 minutes should be there then they called my husband cell said they will be another hour really I have nothing else to do but wait all day for you people. Amazing Customer Service! I had a sliding glass door handle (from another supplier) break and was having a hard time finding a replacement. I had called other suppliers all of whom had a "really don't care and not interested in helping" attitude. I then contacted STORMFITTERS WINDOWS and spoke with Dana who was more than happy to help me find a replacement. I really feel she went out of her way to assist me and get me the part I needed.
