Good burger...got the Carolina Classic...8oz hand pressed...Coleslaw, carmalized onion, cheddar, and I think it was supposed to have chili on it which it did not but it was still tasty...guess I have to go back again and get it with chili lol....place was clean and the server was very friendly.

I can't believe all of the high ratings and stars for this place. To begin with it's right next door to and in the same building with Big Boy's 66 Truck Stop. So you might know the food here is simply belly filler truck stop food. The emphasis here is on Southern Country food and they even seem to do some Low Country. You have your choice of a buffet or sit down order. I did the sit down, ordering a Country Fried Steak. I sort of knew that at $8.99 they couldn't make it all that good and they didn't. The sauce had been more than liberally doused with white pepper and had the consistency and texture of wall paper paste. Looking around I'd say half the patrons are truckers with the other half being tourists or travelers who have pulled in to fuel up. On the good side, Lowell Mill Restaurant is spotlessly clean and super friendly. For a restaurant I've seen better but as a truck stop restaurant, it's one of the best.

Fantastic southern country cooking! Great location right off I 95. Large menu and a fantastic buffet. You're guaranteed to find something for everyone. A must if you are traveling and if you lucky enough to live close they have daily specials.

    Everything was Great!!!

The restaurant is in a small truck-stop off of I-95. Many comfort food choices with large portions. Friendly staff.

Excellent southern style food. Tastes like you're eating a Sunday's dinner in your grandmother's kitchen. You will not be disappointed.

Good made to order food at the truck stop. Service is great and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for a location so convenient to I-95.

We ordered the double cheese burger (comes with meat chili, onions, cheese and mustard) and one double hamburger with lettuce tomato onion. The double burgers were 1/2 pound. We also ordered some house made coleslaw. We sat at the one booth and we served very quickly. Our burgers were really good, the burger itself tasted good. The coleslaw was also a big win. We had 2 double burgers, coleslaws and 2 fountain drinks for 22$, great value and great taste. It is a true locals place run by a family. The family pictures on the wall and everyone coming in seems to know the staff. They have a drive through which also keeps them busy. It is not a fancy place but has a family lunch counter vibe. And they even have a drive thru for the restaurant. We walked in and it's a small little spot but the ladies in there are all hustling in the kitchen. They have a variety of items on the menu and at 11am it switches to lunch. We had just made it to get a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. The biscuit had so much flavor and just that classic North Carolina biscuit taste. We also loved the hoop cheese that is from NC. We definitely will be back. It was adorable and delicious. Thanks to the girls for making our breakfast!

You could smell the grill going when you walk up and it really makes it real for you that you are about to experience some good eatin! I ordered the "Southern Thang" burger. Which is their version of Carolina Style or Chili And slaw burger! They nailed it!!! Everything tasted so fresh, the bun was perfectly toasted and even had a PAW PRINT stamped on top! Their logo has dog ears so I guess the paw-print is part of their marketing. Either way it's cute! I also orders the beer battered steak fried which were hot and crispy! This was a huge plus. Too many food trucks have those basic restaurants straight cut fries that you pick up from bargain stores but this place definitely decided to stand out! The price was on par with other major burger eateries, maybe even cheaper considering you get a lot of food for the price. All in all this place surprised me by delivering restaurant quality food, fresh and hot, with excellent service. I will definitely be back!

This restaurant is in a strip shopping center and in the area of local hotels. We were seated near the bar which was a nice booth with raised barriers between tables which made conversation easy. Our server Kaydi quickly came over to offer drinks, an energetic tone, a positive smile, and the refreshing Southern "yes ma'am/sir." I got the Blues Brothers Burger with sweet potato fries, a very tasty lunch, and filling. We were offered to-go drinks, a cordial touch. Pricing averaged about $25 per person, a very reasonable price for the value delivered. Overall, we will certainly be back the next time we're driving along the east coast. He was a little disappointed in the small size of the burger but it was otherwise good (cooked medium well but not dry) and the salad was fresh. Service was friendly but server had a little trouble remembering if they had Guinness. I would expect the servers to have this information ready as they serve primarily burgers and BEER, ya know. It was an early Fri nt dinner for us so not crowded or busy yet. Noise level was moderate and we could still talk without raising our voices.

If you're someone who wants ambiance and decor, this isn't it. Do you want food made with love? This is your spot. Being 1st time callers and long time listeners, played it safe by ordering a burger. My thoughts are, if a burger isn't done well nothing else would be. Their dressed cheeseburgers have chili and onions on them. Want your's differently? I am certain you will be accommodated. Ours were delicious, clearly hand made and the fries were perfect. The Gentleman at the counter took the order, we seated ourselves. No frills, no pretentious demure; We were welcomed as if we were old friends walking into their kitchen at home. TV on, other patrons enjoying their meals. Was a treat to have the owner/cook(?)'s grandaughter pop in and listen to their banter. She was supposed to be home for July 4 but ate "bad McDonalds" and was sick If my fam had a place like this no doubt McDonald's would tear up my guts more than it already does! It was adorable. She was adorable. He was adorable. Loads of love between those walls and it reflects in the food served. Don't quote me on this but I think we were loved, fed very, very well and out the door for under $22. The only complaint I have is, I wanna go back Would probably be cheaper to eat here and support local every night than to cook at home! Loved it, will be back and strongly recommend.
